Water pipe installation to bring restrictions next week on Ajo Way near Ryan Field

Motorists traveling on State Route 86 (Ajo Way) west of Tucson may encounter delays next week while the Arizona Department of Transportation installs a water pipe near Ryan Airfield.

A flagging operation will direct traffic through the work area (milepost 159.5), where the highway will be reduced to one lane from 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. daily Monday, Nov. 14, through Wednesday, Nov. 16.

Delays of up to 15 minutes can be expected.

The work is part of a project to improve SR 86 between Valencia and Kinney roads.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction equipment and personnel.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but it’s possible that unscheduled closures or restrictions might occur because of weather or other factors. For the most current information about highway closures and restrictions statewide, visit ADOT’s Travel Information Site at www.az511.gov, follow us on Twitter (@ArizonaDOT) or call 511, except while driving.

For more information about this project, please call C.T. Revere, ADOT Senior Community Relations Officer, at1.520.705.3574 or email at crevere@azdot.gov.
