Madonna in Harper's Bazaar: "I've Always Felt Oppressed." Madonna isn't going anywhere. Three decades into her career, the 58-year-old singer appears in Harper's Bazaar's February issue. She may be a cover girl, but as Madonna tells the magazine, "I've always felt oppressed." Realizing her comment might raise a few eyebrows, the "Living for Love" singer adds, "I know a lot of people would go, 'Oh, that's ridiculous for you to say that. You're a successful white, wealthy pop star,' but I've had the s--t kicked out of me for my entire career, and a large part of that is because I'm female and also because I refuse to live a conventional life. I've created a very unconventional family. I have lovers who are three decades younger than me. This makes people very uncomfortable. I feel like everything I do makes people feel really uncomfortable." Assuming that's true, why put herself out there at all? "Art keeps me alive. I've obviously been devastated or heartbroken all my life, since my mother's death. I've had so many challenges throughout my career, however successful people perceive me to be," the seven-time Grammy winner says. "The only way I've been able to survive the betrayal of lovers, family members, and society is to be able to create as an artist." Madonna explains that she wants to "touch people's hearts to get them to look at life in a different way. To be a part of evolution, because, for me, it's either you're part of creation or you're part of destruction. It's inexplicable; it's like breathing, and I can't imagine not doing it." "That is one of the arguments I would get into with my ex-husband, who used to say to me, 'But why do you have to do this again? Why do you have to make another record? Why do you have to go on tour? Why do you have to make a movie?'" Madonna recalls, likely referring to Guy Ritchie. "I'm like, 'Why do I have to explain myself?' I feel like that's a very sexist thing to say." Sadly, she's grown accustomed to such questions. "Does somebody ask Steven Spielberg why he's still making movies? Hasn't he had enough success? Hasn't he made enough money? Hasn't he made a name for himself? Did somebody go to Pablo Picasso and say, 'OK, you're 80 years old. Haven't you painted enough paintings?' No," Madonna explains. "I'm so tired of that question. I just don't understand it. I'll stop doing everything that I do when I don't want to do it anymore. I'll stop when I run out of ideas. I'll stop when you f--king kill me. How about that?" Madonna's last album, Rebel Heart, was released in March 2015. She supported it with a worldwide tour, and she hopes to hit the road again soon. "Whenever I do my live shows, I feel artistically inspired and excited because I get to do and say a lot of things that I can't if I just make a record," the "Ghosttown" singer tells Harper's Bazaar (on newsstands Jan. 17). "A lot of times it's the only way people are going to hear my music because you don't get to have your music played on Top 40 if you're above the age of 35. It's always exciting for me to perform." It's not just about the music for Madonna anymore. "I'm liking the idea more and more of just standing up with a microphone and talking. I like talking; I like playing with the audience," she tells the magazine. "I keep telling Amy Schumer and Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock that I'm going to do stand-up and they'd better watch out. I'm coming. I'm coming right behind them." (Eonline)
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Put on a "United Front" Amid Divorce. Going forward, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will handle their divorce in a private forum. The actors released a joint statement Monday night -- their first since Jolie filed for divorce in September. "The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues," the former power couple's statement read (via People magazine). "The parents are committed to act as a united front to effectuate recovery and reunification." In December, a judge denied Pitt's request to seal documents in his custody battle. Pitt, 53, and Jolie, 41, went on to make harsh claims about each other in a series of court filings. In one filing, Pitt said he was "extremely concerned" that if the records were not sealed, his kids' privacy rights would be damaged. His lawyers claimed Jolie "exposed the children by making public the names of their therapists and other mental health professionals." Her lawyers argued his filing was a "thinly-veiled attempt to shield himself, rather than the children, from the public view." The exes have since agreed to seal sensitive records relating to Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 15, Pax Jolie-Pitt, 13, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, 11, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, 10, Knox Jolie-Pitt, 8, and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, 8. Pitt and Jolie currently have a voluntary temporary custody agreement in place, which grants him supervised visitation rights; the Maleficent actress has primary physical custody of the kids. It's been a difficult few months for Pitt and Jolie, who wed at Château Miraval in 2014. After Jolie filed for divorce, federal and local authorities investigated allegations that the actor was abusive toward his eldest son on a private flight. Pitt, however, was cleared of any wrongdoing. Their lawyers are due back in court Jan. 17, if the exes don't come to an agreement in advance. While Jolie has eschewed the spotlight, Pitt fulfilled his obligation to promote the WWII spy drama Allied throughout the month of November. Most recently, the actor made a surprise appearance at the 2017 Golden Globes on behalf of the movie Moonlight, which he produced. (Eonline)
Scheana Shay Opens Up About Vanderpump Rules Divorce On WWHL -- Is She Dating Hilary Duff's Ex Or What?! It's about damn time! Vanderpump Rules has had its fair share of real life drama throughout its first five seasons, but nothing can compare to watching Scheana Shay get married and subsequently divorced right before our very eyes. It's been about a month and half since Scheana officially filed for divorce from Mike Shay after two years of wedded bliss marriage, so she's finally ready to start sharing her side of the story! After spilling her guts to E! News on Monday, the Bravolebrity stopped by Watch What Happens Live with Stassi Schroeder later that night to give Andy Cohen an update on her love life. Specifically... those rumors about her dating Hilary Duff's ex-husband Mike Comrie!!! Unfortunately, while Scheana vehemently denied those blind items -- we guess she learned her lesson from Brandi Glanville -- she did reveal that she and Mike (Shay) are NOT handling their breakup as well as we thought, admitting: "We haven't lived together since October and as of right now we are not on speaking terms." Yikes. Luckily, the episode wasn't a complete downer -- Stassi certainly seemed like she hit it off with Timber Creek Lodge's Mark Milburn behind the bar! (Perez Hilton)
Flip or Flop's Tarek El Moussa Files for Divorce From Wife Christina. Flip or Flop's Tarek El Moussa has filed for divorce from wife Christina. The HGTV couple have officially taken the necessary steps to legally separate, according to People, who first broke the news. Their decision to move forward with the split comes nearly a month after the pair, who are parents to 6-year-old daughter Taylor and 1-year-old son Brayden, announced they were separating after seven years of marriage. Possible trouble in paradise first came to light earlier last year when police visited the El Moussa family's Orange County home in May following a "call of a possibly suicidal male with a gun." Tarek allegedly ran from the house with a gun, only dropping the firearm after a helicopter spotted him and police commanded him to do so. Tarek told police he did not intend to harm himself -- he just wanted to "blow off some steam." According to the El Moussa, the incident was a "misunderstanding," as Tarek merely went "on a hike and took a gun for protection from mountain lions, bobcats, coyotes and rattlesnakes." Christina is said to be dating family contractor Gary Anderson. According to reports, Gary was the one who told police in May that he'd witnessed Tarek flee the family home with a weapon. In a statement, the exes confirmed they "dated other people following the separation," but said neither was "ready to announce anything in terms of another relationship." The former couple previously stated that they would continue to work together post-split for the show, however, E! News learned new episodes of Flip or Flop will only be filmed in 2017 to fulfill contractual obligations. Said a source, "The show will end after that." In a previous statement, HGTV told E! News, "We admire and appreciate Tarek and Christina's great work on Flip or Flop. When it comes to matters related to their own family, we respect their privacy and honor any decision that works best for them and their children. HGTV is currently airing episodes of Flip or Flop and the series will continue production as scheduled." Regardless of what happens with their personal relationship, the home-improvement gurus have made it a point to declare that their focus will always be on the children. The exes previously told E! News in a statement, "During the [separation] process, we are committed to our kids and being the best parents we can be. We will continue to work through this process civilly and cooperatively, and plan to continue our professional life together." (Eonline)
Music mogul Scott Storch pulled a Britney -- 24 hours after getting married, he wanted out and is now filing for an annulment due to extreme intoxication. The famed producer just filed the docs, attempting to get out of marriage ... which went down in 2011. Scott says he and Christina Gray said, "I do" on June 7, 2011 -- but separated the next day. He says they haven't been together since then. In the docs, Scott admits he and Christina were hammered when they tied the knot and were "not of sound mind." It is weird he's just now getting around to filing annulment docs ... 5 and half years later. In this case, the hangover definitely lasted longer than the honeymoon. (TMZ)
Sylvester Stallone & Casey Affleck Reportedly Clashed Over Seating At The Golden Globes! That moment when Rocky doesn't have a seat at the table. According to multiple sources, Sylvester Stallone was not in the audience during the Golden Globes on Sunday due to a seating snafu at his assigned table, which included the Manchester by the Sea team -- actor Casey Affleck, producer Matt Damon, and writer-director Kenneth Lonergan. People reports things got a little awkward when there was only one seat available for the 70-year-old and his wife, Jennifer Flavin, whose daughters shared the title of Miss Golden Globes. One source close to the show revealed no one sitting at the table made an effort to make adjustments for the Stallones, who ultimately got frustrated and watched the ceremony from the green room backstage. We can imagine that would be a bit embarrassing! Another insider says: "There weren't enough seats and so there was confusion, but it wasn't personal against him." We're hearing more seats eventually became available facing the stage, but it was a little too late for the Creed star. After Ben Affleck's brother won for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama, he reportedly tried to make amends with Sly over the ordeal when they crossed paths backstage, but to no avail. Stallone's rep responded to the rumors: "The story you refer to is an interesting rumor -- but a rumor nonetheless. Sylvester Stallone had a wonderful evening attending and presenting at the Golden Globes and celebrating with his family and friends." Hmmm. Seems a bit silly. (Perez Hilton)
Bella Thorne is learning to listen to herself over the haters. The former Shake It Up! actress tells PEOPLE that, although she is in the process of getting her happy back, she admits she wrestles with how much attention to pay to negative comments from Internet critics. "It's hard. I was in a happier place [a while ago] than I had been recently," says Thorne, 19. "And now I'm back to a happier place." The Disney Channel alum revealed that her split from an ex was a trying time in her life and that she was deeply affected by the negative comments from social media users who assumed she'd cheated. "I went through a breakup and that was kind of tough. You know, fans, if you're just seen with somebody, they think you're immediately you gotta be in a relationship with them. Which is not true. I hang out all the time with different people that I'm not dating, that I'm just friends with. I hang out with a lot of guys because I'm a total tomboy," the actress, who is the new face of Biore, admits. "So a lot of my friends end up being guys because a lot of girls are like kind of too girly for me sometimes." She adds, "People take social media as such a big thing. And they all think they know what they're talking about. And they think they know your life and they get their friends to trash you. And they get all these people to hate on you and call you whatever names in the book. It's kind of like one person says it and then everybody jumps on it." The actress shares that after she a split from an ex, she "was getting death threats for a hot minute because they thought I had cheated on my ex, which is a total lie." In August, Thorne and Gregg Sulkin split after a year together, PEOPLE exclusively reported, and one month later, she moved on with longtime buddy and Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey (from whom she says she split in early December). Just weeks later, Thorne and Charlie Puth had a short-lived whirlwind romance. "When I woke up that morning -- it f -- ing sucks," she recalls of the moment she got backlash from social media users. "It doesn't feel good to think that everybody in the world just thinks you're an absolutely disgusting person and just because I'm somebody where people know my name, it's so much worse for me." She continues, "And people think that, like, we don't get bullied in Hollywood -- but we do! We get bullied by the public eye and fans and it's really, let me tell you, it f -- ing hurts." "You think that I'm not seeing these comments, but I do see them," she says. "And it doesn't feel good. Especially when they're lies! Then I'm, like, really hurt. At least if it was true, I would be like, 'all right, all right, all right, okay.' But, it's not!" More than merely sticking up for just herself, Thorne -- who reveals that she was "bullied in school a lot" -- hopes to be an example to others who are also at the brunt of bullying. "I'm letting kids know like, 'If somebody's being rude to you, you have the right to stick up for yourself!' When I see [bullying] on other people's pages, I respond because it irks me to my core." She adds, "I don't care what anybody says. That is not cool! It's not normal to sit there and look at somebody's photo and go, 'I hate their nose, I hate their lips. Her face is ugly. She's such a whore.' No! What is wrong with you?" (People)
Brad Pitt made a surprise appearance at the Golden Globes to present "Moonlight," which won for best film drama. But the star, whose production company Plan B produced the movie with A24, didn't stay out to celebrate and headed back home, as he continues an acrimonious divorce battle with Angelina Jolie. Sources say Pitt didn't want to party while he and Jolie argue over custody of their six kids. Pitt, 53, and Jolie, 41, have a voluntary temporary custody agreement in place that allows him just one supervised visit with the children a week. He previously voluntarily agreed to undergo drug and alcohol tests in the hope he'll eventually be allowed more access to the kids. A healthy-looking Pitt got a warm and supportive reception from his fellow Hollywood stars at the show. A source told Page Six of Pitt, an executive producer of "Moonlight": "He entered the Globes through the backstage and presented the film, and then headed straight back home. He is extremely proud of the film, and wanted to be there to support it, but he didn't go out." Lawyers for Pitt and Jolie are due back in court Jan. 17, if the parties don't come to an agreement in advance. They just reached a deal to seal the court documents to prevent a further ugly public fight. Meanwhile, the stars of "Moonlight" hit the party circuit to celebrate, although there was no official bash for their film. Janelle Monáe and Naomie Harris were seen at the Warner Bros. and InStyle party at the Beverly Hilton, along with guests Viola Davis, John Legend, Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara. (Page Six)

Mariah Carey's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was vandalized over the weekend ... in a much more subtle way than Donald Trump's. A rep for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce tells us ... they called the LAPD Sunday and they gave cops a lead -- someone on Instagram claimed responsibility. We're told it cost $1,500 to restore the star. Hollywood Historic Trust has already had it cleaned up. Cops are on the hunt. They're pulling surveillance video. The investigation is for felony vandalism. No word if James Otis has an alibi. (TMZ)
For real? Jamie Foxx took to Instagram on Monday, January 9, to address the video showing him being violently attacked inside Los Angeles restaurant Catch. TMZ posted the disturbing footage from Saturday night, where the actor and some friends were dining when a fellow diner approached the table to complain they were being too loud. Eyewitnesses said things turned violent after words were exchanged and Foxx, 49, got caught in the middle. But Foxx wanted to let his fans know what went down, and took to social media to explain the situation. "Damn, f--k, word is out man," he says in the video, where he's holding a towel to his right eye. "I know you all heard about this s--t, man. Saw some videos. I just wanted to address what happened from my perspective." "All I was trying to do, man, was keep my eye on things," he added. He then removed the towel to reveal one crossed eye, proving he was just playing a prank on his fans. "I'm just f--king with y'all, man. Everybody's good. 2017. We don't want no violence. We don't want to get hurt." Foxx was at least able to use the incident to promote his new action flick, Sleepless. "If you want to see me whoop some ass, you know what you can do," he said, panning the camera to a poster for the cop movie. "Friday the 13th. Sleepless. Come see your boy kick some ass for real." Amber Heard Responds to Johnny Depp's Request for Monetary Sanctions: "I Want My Life Back." Amber Heard is responding to Johnny Depp after the actor requested $100,000 in court sanctions from his ex. In official documents obtained by E! News, the Justice League star assured the court that she has been committed to a quick resolution of her divorce. But according to the actress, "Johnny and his counsel seem to wish to prolong this proceeding as a means of punishing me." "I am now told that Johnny is taking outrageous steps of seeking legal fees from me because I have asked the court to enforce the settlement agreement that we reached four months ago," she wrote. "I am told that Johnny somehow claims I am the one who is delaying settlement rather than the other way around. These claims are contemptible and shocking." Amber added, "Johnny has delayed the resolutions of this matter. I want my life back. I want to be divorced from Johnny now." Back in December, Johnny's team filed court documents alleging that Amber "continues to needless litigate a case which has been settled, all while parading in front of the media in a desperate attempt to extend her fifteen minutes of fame." In the event that Amber fails to contribute $100,000 to Johnny's attorney's fees and costs as sanctions, Johnny asked that he be allowed to deduct the same from his next equalization payment. Amber's attorney would later tell E! News that the move was "another lame attempt by Mr. Depp and his team to not pay my client the money she is owed." Back in August, the former couple agreed to a $7 million settlement, all of which would be donated by Johnny to the ACLA and Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, per Amber's request. In the midst of her divorce drama, Amber was able to step out at The Art of Elysium presents Stevie Wonder's HEAVEN event at Red Studios in Los Angeles this weekend. She also attended W magazine's It Girls Luncheon. (Eonline)
Dennis Quaid may be overpaying his estranged wife for child and spousal support ... but then again, he might be underpaying, so everyone's quietly gone to court to try and square things up. Turns out, Dennis and Kimberly Quaid never got a temporary spousal or child support order after she filed for divorce last June. According to legal docs, Dennis has been voluntarily paying for the living expenses of Kimberly and the 9-year-old twins since the split. We're told they disagreed on how much Dennis should be paying. She thinks he should pay more and he thinks he's actually overpaying. So, Dennis and Kimberly now say in legal docs -- once a judge sets the amount of spousal and child support -- they will add up what Dennis has paid, and if he's been underpaying he needs to cut a check for the difference. It's a gamble for Kimberly, because if Dennis overpaid she needs to cut a check for the difference. Divorce ... sometimes it's like Vegas. (TMZ)
Debbie Reynolds' Cause of Death Revealed. Nearly two weeks after Debbie Reynolds passed away at the age of 84, the cause of her death has been revealed. E! News can confirm the iconic actress suffered a fatal intracerebral hemorrhage caused by high blood pressure, or in other words, a stroke. The Singin' in the Rain star was rushed to the hospital on December 28, 2016 after suffering a stroke in her Beverly Hills home. She died shortly after, only one day after her daughter Carrie Fisher succumbed to a heart attack at 60-years-old. Since the beloved stars' passing, Hollywood has come together to celebrate the lives of one unforgettable mother-daughter pairing. A joint funeral was held last Friday at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hillst o honor Fisher and Reynolds, and some of the Star Wars fixture's ashes were reportedly buried with her mother. One day prior, a star-studded memorial took place at Carrie's home. The actresses' family and friends, including celebs such as Star Wars creator George Lucas, Meryl Streep, Gwyneth Paltrow, Meg Ryan all attended. Daughter Billie Lourd's Scream Queens co-star Curtis was also present. Streep and several other guests delivered eulogies and the actress also sang Carrie's favorite song, "Happy Days Are Here Again." Then at Sunday night's 2017 Golden Globes, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association paid tribute to Debbie and Carrie with a touching video segment about their careers. Although a date hasn't been set, the late stars' family is also planning a public memorial. "We'll have quite an event," a source recently told E! News exclusively. "Anybody who loved Carrie and worked with Carrie will be invited to that big event." (Eonline)
THE OTHER STUFF . . .
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Norwegian Vacation: Breaking Down Their Romantic Excursion By the Numbers. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's relationship shines just as bright as the Northern Lights. As E! News previously reported, the redheaded royal kicked off 2017 by whisking his girlfriend away for a super private stay in Norway. The lovebirds spent a few days taking in the picturesque sights of the northern European country. According to multiple outlets, Harry and Meghan traveled to the remote town of Tromso where they enjoyed whale-watching, spent the night under the Aurora Borealis and took part in a bevy of other winter-themed activities. So how much did the romantic getaway cost the pair? Well, if the Suits star and her man did in fact enjoy the finer things Norway has to offer, their trip tallied up to at least $9,112. Let's break down every dollar well spent, shall we? To fly from London, where Meghan and Harry celebrated New Year's Eve together, and back on British Airways would cost $2,057 per passenger. Not an inexpensive start to the trap, but hey, it's all about the journey. Upon touching down in Tromso, the couple could have headed straight to the Malangen Resort, where they'd be sitting pretty in their Private Luxury Cabin at $444 per night. Assuming Harry and Meghan spent eight nights in Norway, the total cost of room and board reached $3,556. The two certainly got their money's worth, as this particular seafront suite boasts three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two balconies, a lounge and fully-stocked kitchen. As for activities, something tells us Harry wanted to treat his lady to an overnight sledding trip with a front row view of the Northern Lights. It's no secret that Prince William's little bro has an adventurous side, so what better way to fuel his need for speed than with a chance to run his own dogsled team through the snow?! For $1,162, Meghan and Harry might have done exactly that, in addition to hiking the local mountains, hunting and indulging in two homemade meals by the campfire. No trip to Norway would be complete without seeing the region's wildlife. On a day trip costing at least $180 per person, Meghan and Harry could have experienced an intimate whale-watching adventure that would entice any animal lover. To top it off, complimentary hot chocolate and snacks are also provided on the tour. (And we all know what a big hot cocoa fan Meghan is...) Where will Meghan and Harry jet off to next? Only time will tell! (Eonline)
Ben Affleck Punishes Casey Affleck Because He Didn't Thank Him in His Golden Globes 2017 Speech. Word to the wise: always thank your family in your award show acceptance speeches. Casey Affleck won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama, for his role in Manchester by the Sea, and during his acceptance speech he thanked Amazon, Matt Damon and many others. Unfortunately, he forgot to give his brother Ben Affleck a mention. "I was a llittle-takenaback," Ben confessed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Monday. "I wouldn't do that. If it's me, I thank people." Host Jimmy Kimmel replayed Ben's acceptance speech when he won the Oscar for Good Will Hunting, and Ben did, in fact, thank his brother Casey. Kimmel also played video of Eli Manning thanking his brother Peyton Manning, which caused Ben to note, "and they hate each other!" Ben, who stars in Live by Night, wasn't going to let Casey's slip up go. So when Kimmel noted that this year's Academy Awards could make history by having two brothers win in separate categories, Ben seized the opportunity to reveal how the Oscars could be historic in other ways. "[It would be] the very first time someone would win an Oscar who didn't brush his teeth from ages 10 to 14," Ben revealed of his brother. "It would be the very first time someone would win an Oscar who pulls his pants all the way down at the urinal. Most Oscar winners don't do that. This would be historic in many ways." But Ben didn't stop there. "[Casey would be the] first person to win who's scared of butterflies. Not only that, he'd be the first person to win who used to touch himself watching Vicki the robot from Small Wonder," Ben continued. "Not last but not least. I'm going to get one more in: This would be the very first person to win an Academy Award who once asked his brother if Back to the Future is a true story." Your move, Casey. (Eonline)
They were together for 25 years and had a cosmic connection. Still, Iman once said she never fell in love with David Bowie. "I fell in love with David Jones," the Somali-American supermodel told the Guardian in 2014, referring to the given name of the English rock legend, who died one year ago at age 69. "Bowie is just a persona," she explained. "He's a singer, an entertainer. David Jones is a man I met." Indeed, they managed to live-and treasure-a normal life together, despite the mega fame that came with being the ultimate global trailblazers in their respective fields. PEOPLE visited their New York City apartment in 2005, and found the family-with then-5-year-old daughter Lexi-to be the image of domesticity. "We are very normal," Iman said, explaining that she cooked dinner for her husband every night that she took Lexi to music and dance lessons, and that Bowie and Lexi would play music together all the time. Of his entrepreneur wife, Bowie told PEOPLE at the time: "She's uncanny at keeping the business at her office and the woman at home. But she's a mom 24/7." Not that Iman-whose full name is Iman Mohamed Abdulmajid-was even looking for love when she first met her future husband in 1990. (They would marry-both for the second time-two years later in a private ceremony in Lausanne, Switzerland.) "I was not ready for a relationship," Iman told the Guardian. "Definitely I didn't want to get into a relationship with somebody like him." But the attraction was instant and undeniable. Weeks before their 1992 wedding, Bowie gushed to PEOPLE about the "overwhelming beauty" of his bride-to-be, describing her as "a smoky blend of Sophia Loren and Audrey Hepburn." Iman, too, was smitten. She had already honored her fiance by having a Bowie knife tattooed on her right ankle. "My life is good," she told PEOPLE. Some two decades later, in 2010, Iman described their relationship to Harper's Bazaar as utterly complementary, and said their romance was as passionate as ever. "David doesn't fight," she said. "He is English, so he just stays quiet. I'm the screamer. Then he always makes me laugh. It's like cabaret. I keep him entertained, too. I still fancy him-totally!-after all these years." She added: "My father taught me how to be a parent and gave me a positive connection with men because he is a gentleman. And that is what attracted me to David. He is a gentle soul." As Bowie told PEOPLE in 2005, the couple had no problem keeping their romance alive. "Mouth-to-mouth resuscitation generally does the trick!" he said. (People)
As previously reported, Casey, 41, won best actor for his work in Manchester by the Sea. While on stage, he thanked Damon, 46, for producing the film, his estranged wife, Summer Phoenix, and their two sons, and quoted a past speech from Washington, where he said "God is love." Nevertheless, Ben was excited to go home and ask his three kids -- Violet, 11, Seraphina, 7, and Samuel, 4 -- if they watched "Uncle Casey" on TV. "[Sam] said, 'The man said Casey Affleck!' Ben explained to Ellen DeGeneres on Tuesday. "So he appreciated it." "I had to explain to my son that presenting is also very honorable," he added, laughing. "That's very esteemed. That's like winning." Ben, Casey and Damon have remained very close since growing up in Boston. The Argo star told DeGeneres that the actors and their families all went on a skiing vacation recently. "We are at the point where all of our children are better skiers than I am," he said. "And who's the most behaved kid out of all of them?" DeGeneres, 58, asked. "Is it one of yours?" The Justice League actor quipped: "No." Ben and his estranged wife, Jennifer Garner, have co-parented since separating after 10 years of marriage in summer 2015. "I have the world's greatest mom, but even she could not conquer the obstacles there," he said. "They are all great kids." In fact, Ben believes that he's quite a "tween" expert. "I hear a lot about the romantic adventures of Disney characters who are on the Disney channel. And we go to Taylor Swift concerts and that's my life," he said. "Taylor Swift is a great role model, by the way. She's great." That doesn't mean the actor has a great memory, though. In a hilarious game, Ben failed to list three of Swift's songs -- but he did mention her ex John Mayer. (US Weekly)
Wayne Brady is about to get his shot in "Hamilton" -- in Chicago. Producers of the hit musical said Monday that the comedian and game show host will play Aaron Burr from Jan. 17 until April 9 at The PrivateBank Theatre in Chicago. Brady won a Primetime Emmy Award for "Whose Line Is It Anyway" and a Daytime Emmy Award as host of his own talk show, "The Wayne Brady Show." Brady is no stranger to the stage, making his Broadway debut in 2004 in "Chicago" and last year slipping into high heels to play Lola in "Kinky Boots." Brady will take over Burr from Tony Award-nominee Joshua Henry, who will take his character on the road in the show's first national tour, which starts in San Francisco. (Page Six)
Honeymooners Tom D'Agostino Jr. and LuAnn de Lesseps are on Harbour Island in the Bahamas, where LuAnn is sporting a diamond necklace -- a wedding gift from her husband. Admiring the sparklers over dinner at the Dunmore were India Hicks, Laurie Durning, Ivana Lowell, Anna Rothschild and Kimberly DuRoss. At the next table was Robin Birley with his wife, Lucy (who was previously married to Bryan Ferry). For pessimists who saw the couple's travails on "The Real Housewives of New York," one witness told me, "The newlyweds were gleaming with happiness." (Page Six)
Chris Brown and Soulja Boy are gearing up for a bloodbath in the ring, but for various reasons they can't pull it off in the U.S. ... so we've learned they're planning to fight it out in Dubai. Sources connected with both Chris and Soulja tell TMZ they genuinely dislike each other and each wants to beat the crap out of the other, but what they want more than anything is a huge paycheck by running the fight on Pay-Per-View. The initial plan was for a Vegas fight, but we've learned there are several rules and regs that would make such a fight impossible there, not the least of which is a mandatory drug test for amateur fights ... which both Chris and Soulja know they would never pass. We're told their plan is to take the fight overseas -- first choice Dubai -- and they believe the Pay-Per-View audience would rake in untold millions of dollars. Both Chris and Soulja have talked about making this a charity fight, but we're told some of the money will line their pockets. (TMZ)
Hours after the Kim Kardashian robbery suspects were busted ... she and Kanye West had a celebratory dinner, and Kim's looking more and more like she did pre-robbery. Kimye hit up a sushi spot near Bel-Air Monday night. Looks like they're slowing coming out of hiding ... on the heels of his breakdown and her Paris ordeal. Kim's still wearing very little makeup and still kinda dressing down -- if down means rocking lace tights with destroyed denim. She's beyond the distressed look. (TMZ)
Lara Spencer and Megyn Kelly may have hugged, kissed or schmoozed before the camera rolled, but it certainly wasn't apparent from what we see at baggage claim at JFK. The 'GMA' host and the soon-to-be NBC talk show host were feet from each other Monday night, but not a word was spoken ... at least as far as we can see. ABC and NBC are in fierce competition, but then again competitive anchors still chew the fat. At the very least, the video's entertaining. (TMZ)
A bed frame from Sharon Tate's home -- where one of Charles Manson's famous victims slept -- is up for auction ... if you're into that sorta thing. The now almost 50-year-old wooden frame belonged to Abigail Folger ... the coffee heiress who lived with Tate. She was lying in the bed moments before she was chased out of the room at knifepoint by one of Manson's followers, and stabbed 28 times. Crime scene pics of the bed are featured in the book, 'Helter Skelter' -- and Ole Hound Auction House expects it to fetch at least $10k. An Ole Hound spokesperson says there's still blood spatter on the footboard, which can be seen under black light. And there's this morbid thought -- we're told the frame's price could jump up significantly if Manson dies before February 10 ... the day it hits the auction block. (TMZ)
Exes Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone seemed to keep their distance from each other over Golden Globes weekend. Sources said that Stone attended her agency WME's Sunday bash at the Chateau Marmont, but didn't go to CAA's rival party across the street at the Sunset Tower Hotel, where Garfield was partying, even though she was staying at Sunset Tower. Stone was seen arriving back at the hotel but didn't make an appearance at the CAA bash, we're told. The ex-couple was seen interacting at public events -- the two cordially visited each other's tables at the AFI Awards at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills. But outside the event, we hear that Garfield was speaking with an industry colleague when he suddenly exclaimed, "I gotta go!," upon seeing Stone walking his way. (Page Six)
New York Knicks star Derrick Rose was inexplicably absent from his team's Monday night loss against the New Orleans Pelicans, sparking concerns for his well-being. Although no injury was reported when coach Jeff Hornacek held his pregame press conference, Rose was scratched from the roster minutes before game time. The team released a statement saying the 28-year-old University of Memphis alum was "not with the team" and provided no further information. According to the New York Times, Rose did attend Monday morning's shoot around with the team. "Right now we don't have enough information to really give you anything," Hornacek said at the post-game news conference. "So that's just going to have to wait until we hear something from Derrick himself." Rose's teammate Joakim Noah told reporters that he spoke to Rose after the game and that his friend was "OK," but he did not elaborate on their conversation. "I don't really want to talk too much about it because I don't really know what the situation is," Noah said. "Obviously Derrick is one of our better players. And when he is not here it is tough. But I am just happy that everything is OK with him." "He's OK. ... I think it's a relief for all of us." A Knicks official told the New York Daily News that Rose missed the game because of "personal reasons," and Frank Isola of the outlet tweeted that Rose may have left New York and traveled to his hometown of Chicago. "Everything will become clear later on," Hornacek said after the game. "You know, we want to respect whatever he's going through. We're just not going to comment on it." (People)
Fans and celebrities alike have voiced support for Meryl Streep following her impassioned acceptance speech at the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday evening, but perhaps no one is prouder than her longtime friend, Robert De Niro. The 73-year-old actor, who received the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 2011 show, wrote a heartfelt response to Streep, 67, in a letter, obtained exclusively by PEOPLE. "What you said was great. It needed to be said, and you said it beautifully," De Niro expressed. "I have so much respect for you that you did it while the world was celebrating your achievements. I share your sentiments about punks and bullies. Enough is enough." In her speech, which she wrote herself, the three-time Oscar-winning actress focused on president-elect Donald Trump, though she never mentioned him by name. Viola Davis and George Clooney were among the celebrities on Monday who spoke out to back Streep's heartfelt speech. Along with their off-screen friendship, De Niro and Streep have costarred in four films: The Deer Hunter (1974), Falling in Love(1984), Marvin's Room (1996) and First Man (2004). De Niro also shared kind words about Streep in December 2011 when he presented her with a Kennedy Center Honor at the 34th annual broadcast. The famous friends were last seen together at Friday's farewell party for President Obama. (People)
Royal Caribbean Cruises put a bunch of tourists in a death trap by setting them up with a reckless Jamaican bus driver who ended up getting into a huge wreck ... according to a new lawsuit. The 8 passengers suing were aboard the Independence of the Seas a year ago when they pulled into port and booked a day excursion to Dunn's River Falls ... which required them to take a bus, and their description of the ride is pretty hairy. They say the driver was speeding, changing lanes and generally driving like a maniac. They repeatedly asked him to slow down, but were told he was driving "the way everyone typically drove in Jamaica." According to docs, the only thing slow about the driver was his reaction to an oncoming truck ... which had swerved into their lane. The passengers say their wheel man failed to get out of the way, and the bus was broadsided and flipped multiple times ... causing severe and permanent injuries. They say Royal Caribbean stuck them with an incompetent driver and failed to provide a safe excursion. It's interesting, Jamaica's roads are kinda like the Wild West -- it's a known risk of traveling there -- so, this case could impact how cruise lines book day trips for passengers. (Eonline)

Fifth Harmony Announces First Performance Without Camila Cabello. They're baaack! While rumors began circulating about the future of Fifth Harmony after Camila Cabello's exit last month, the remaining four ladies -- including Ally Brooke Hernandez, Dinah Jane Hansen, Lauren Jauregui and Normani Kordei -- have promised they're not breaking up. In fact, the girl group will take the stage for the first time as four at the 2017 People's Choice Awards on Wednesday, January 18, performing live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The awards show is the perfect opportunity for their return, considering Fifth Harmony won their first People's Choice Award in 2016 for Favorite Group and is nominated again this year in the same category. The band recently proved they're sticking together, releasing their first official promo photo as a foursome last week, which they captioned simply "Twenty Seventeen." Then, to add even more sweetness to the news, we found out they will be releasing a third studio album in 2017, according to Billboard. Meanwhile, the group announced Cabello's exit in mid-December via Instagram. "After 4 and a half years of being together, we have been informed via her representatives that Camila has decided to leave Fifth Harmony," the statement read. "We wish her well." Cabello still appeared with the group in their "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin Eve" performance, which was pre-taped before her exit. However, she, too, is now looking toward the future. "Next year I will be working on my own music and giving you a big chunk of my heart," Cabello promised her followers in a statement after her exit. "To our amazing fans, I will always be so thankful for the opportunities being in this group has given to me...Now I gotta walk the walk. I have always encouraged you to be fearless, to live your life in the name of love and to do what makes you happy. And scary as it is to take the leap, I am excited and full of joy because I know that no matter what happens, I am following my heart. I hope to see you on my journey." (Eonline)
Why Camila Cabello Wouldn't Take No For an Answer During The X Factor: "It's a Cuban Thing." Give up? Camila Cabello would never. The now ex-Fifth Harmony member, spoke on Lena Dunham's Women of the Hour, about the beginning of her career and growing up. "To be honest with you, I always say that I'm so grateful for that opportunity because I wasn't raised to become a part of the entertainment industry, like in my family people sing for fun. Like my grandma loves music, but there wasn't anybody that ever did this professionally. I came from a place where...It's wasn't like I came from LA or New York where there were people around you that were trying to make it, and it was kind of like people had a chance or a shot at success," the 19-year-old songstress said. Cabello insists that it was a bit harder for her than most, because of where she was raised, "I came from Miami, completely Cuban family, like we immigrated from Cuba when I was like six years old. Nobody thought that there was a plausible like a shot or a chance at having success. I kind of always looked at that as a very far away thing." The singer opened up about days before her X Factor audition and how she didn't take no for an answer. "When the X Factor came close to Miami, because the auditions were in North Carolina, it was my 15th birthday, and I wasn't going to have quinceanera, so I asked my mom instead if her present could be for her to drive up with me to the audition. And I actually auditioned because I was a huge fan of One Direction at the time, and I was like obsessed with them. They had uploaded a video on YouTube where they were giving tips to audition for X Factor USA and so I just had like five seconds of bravery, and so I auditioned, and I didn't make it, so they chose me as an alternate," she said. "So for two days I was right about to go audition, and they would tell me, 'Oh no. You can't audition. You might as well just go home.' I had my whole family there, and they were like, "We don't want to keep having you get disappointed. You might as well just go home. While many would've just decided to listen to the show's employees, Cabello didn't give up so easily, especially because she wasn't raised to do so. "I was like, 'no, just give me a shot.' And so I ended up auditioning because they saw how badly I wanted it and how persistent I was--it's a Cuban thing. And so I got to audition, and I got four yeses, went to boot camp, didn't make it and was put in my group. I was so stoked; I was so excited that it wasn't over because I wanted to just keep going on that journey. It was like so new and exciting to me, and I was like a kid in a candy store." (Eonline)

His birthday was celebrated at Graceland with a memorabilia auction and a cake cutting ceremony. (Billboard)
Charlotte Church Says HELL No To Donald Trump's Inauguration Invite -- See Her Snappy Rejection & Find Out Which Other Singer Is Out! It's no secret Donald Trump has been having MAJOR problems trying to land ANY performers for his inauguration, let alone an A-lister, and it looks like troubles are only mounting! Even though the former Celebrity Apprentice star will still have America's Got Talent runner-up Jackie Evancho and possibly The Beach Boys, it looks like yet another singer has turned him down. Charlotte Church took to Twitter Tuesday to reveal she was asked to perform at Trump's inauguration, and her answer isn't just no -- it's HELL NO! The Welsh singer-songwriter hopped on the social media site early Wednesday morning to share: @realDonaldTrump Your staff have asked me to sing at your inauguration, a simple Internet search would show I think you're a tyrant. Bye???????? -- Charlotte Church (@charlottechurch) January 10, 2017 YAAS! But that's not all! Rebecca Ferguson is now confirming she won't be singing either! You may have also heard about Ferguson's deal with performing at the inauguration as she would ONLY sing the anti-racism song Strange Fruit. Well, after apparently being denied her song choice, the X Factor UK alum wrote a fantastic response piece: Due to circumstances beyond my control concerning the offer to perform at the Inauguration Concert, I was thrown into the middle of a political arena last week. I wasn't comfortable with the song choice made on my behalf, and although I'm very blessed to have a gift that gives me amazing opportunities, as a mother and an artist, I had to defend my stance. That is why I made the decision to sing "Strange Fruit" when I was invited. I requested to sing "Strange Fruit" as I felt it was the only song that would not compromise my artistic integrity and also as somebody who has a lot of love for all people, but has a special empathy as well for African American people and the #blacklivesmatter movement, I wanted to create a moment of pause for people to reflect. I believe talent is a gift that should be used to heal the wounds of this world and make the world a better place to live in. As music is so powerful, I wanted to try and help educate the people watching of where division and separation can lead to if not corrected. My aim was not to cause contention. Pride and ego is what we need to conquer in this world. I was blessed to be invited to the Vatican last month and one thing I was left reflecting on, was all the things that separate humans from one another. It is often pride and the inability to accept people for exactly who they are. We are here to love, not judge, or bring people down. I think love and standing firm in love against anything that separates us from each other, can heal us in these troubled times of unrest. There are many grey areas about the offer for me to perform that I'm unable to share right now, but I will not be singing. However, I genuinely wish your nation nothing but love. I would also like to pay homage to a few of your great female artists: Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, and the brave and remarkable Eartha Kitt and her beautiful untold story. (Perez Hilton)
Stephen Colbert Sings a Medley of His Favorite Billy Joel Songs, Joel Rocks 'Miami 2017'. Billy Joel got comfortable on the couch on The Late Show Monday night (Jan. 9), chilling out for three segments and patiently watching as host Stephen Colbert performed a medley of his favorite tunes by the Piano Man, then offering Colbert his best Tony Bennett impersonation, telling a great Bruce Springsteen story, ranking his favorite compositions and capping it all off by performing "Miami 2017" at Colbert's request. First up was Colbert's attempt to prove his deep Billy Joel knowledge with a rapid-fire medley of greatest hits. "Wow, Billy Joel, I don't know how to explain to you what an important thing this is for me to have you on the show," Colbert said. "I can sing every single one of your hits, like, from beginning to end without pause." And, just to prove it, Colbert busted out a medley including "Piano Man," "New York State of Mind," "I Love You Just The Way You Are," "Movin' Out," "Only the Good Die Young" and so many more. Once Colbert took a breath, Joel talked about the huge influence the Beatles had on him as a teenager, what it felt like to close out Shea Stadium in 2008 accompanied by Paul McCartney and the time he snuck in to see a Hendrix show by faking a British accent and pretending to be part of the guitar legend's road crew. Joel also explained an odd prop Colbert pulled out: the voltage regulator from the motorcycle on which Billy's pal Bruce Springsteen broke down on Veterans Day while riding a machine Joel had custom made for The Boss. "I built Bruce a couple of bikes... and this was the voltage regulator from the Moto Guzzi," he said, doing a pitch-perfect Springsteen impression, followed by a pretty great Tony Bennett impersonation. The highlight, though, was when Colbert asked Joel to rank his top five songs from his career. Joel, ever the contrarian, said he actually favors album tracks over the hit singles, naming off the following: "Vienna," "And So It Goes," "You May Be Right," "She's Right on Time" and "Scenes From an Italian Restaurant." The pair also shared the totally "True Stories Behind the Hits" (spoiler alert: these are not the true stories.) The special appearance was capped by a stirring performance of "Miami 2017 (Seen the Lights Go Out on Broadway)." (Billboard)
Sony's AXN Signs Deal for More of Simon Cowell's 'Asia's Got Talent'. Sony Pictures Television Networks has signed a multi-year deal with FremantleMedia International and Syco Entertainment for a second season of regional hit Asia's Got Talent. The English-language show premiered on Sony's AXN channel in 2015. AXN spans some 20 territories across the Asia-Pacific region, including Japan, South Korea, India, China and much of Southeast Asia. "We were the first channel to premiere a localized, pan-regional format 10 years ago and since then have consistently rolled out original productions that truly resonate with our viewers," said Virginia Lim, senior vp, Sony Pictures Television Networks in Asia. "This year, we'll be expanding our slate to feature an AXN programming lineup that's even more locally relevant with a bigger focus on social media engagement." Roc Nation, Tidal Challenge Authority of Prince Estate Administrator. As the estate of Prince negotiates to put the late musician's greatest hits on major streaming outlets in time for the Grammy's, Jay Z-affiliated companies Roc Nation and Tidal-owner Aspiro are raising doubts about the ability of administrator, Bremer Trust, to make moves on Prince's song catalog. In November, on behalf of Prince's NPG Records, Bremer Trust filed a lawsuit against Roc Nation and Aspiro, alleging that Tidal was only given an exclusive 90-day license for a newly recorded studio album titled Hit n Run, and that Tidal had committed copyright infringement by putting 15 Prince albums up on the streaming service. Aspiro, first in probate court and now in a Minnesota federal court, is suggesting that it got more in both a written agreement and oral deals, and on Monday, it filed an answer to the lawsuit. As did Roc Nation, which according to a separate filing, is 50 percent owned by Live Nation with the rest controlled by Jay Z-affiliated Marcy Media. (Back in 2008, it was reported that Live Nation was putting up tens of millions to partner with Jay Z on Roc Nation, but its specific ownership stake has remained murky until now.) Among the affirmative defenses to the lawsuit being raised are that NPG Records lacks valid copyright registrations and has committed copyright misuse. Aspiro also believes that claims may be barred because Bremer "lacks the requisite authority to authorize the instant lawsuit" and because "Plaintiffs are not the real parties in interest with respect to the claims asserted." The filing comes amid news that representatives for Prince's estate are negotiating distribution deals with the likes of Apple and Spotify. Deals are hoped for in time for the February 17 Grammy's, which will be featuring a major tribute to Prince at the awards ceremony. In a November probate filing, Roc Nation hinted that deals with other streaming outlets could be a violation of its own rights. At the moment, neither Roc Nation nor Aspiro are asserting counterclaims, but both are sticking to the contention that Tidal was licensed or authorized to stream Prince works. According to Monday's filing, "With the long-established course of dealing, between Mr. Nelson [Prince] and Aspiro, Plaintiffs were fully aware that Aspiro would proceed to offer Mr. Nelson's works based on his promises and Plaintiffs reasonably expected or should have expected Aspiro to rely on those promises and to expend time, effort and money to bring Mr. Nelson's works to the public. Acting in accordance with the long-established course of dealing, Aspiro justifiably relied on those promises." (Billboard)
Sean Paul Get Reflective With Dua Lipa in 'No Lie'. For those hoping 2017 could be the year "it's lit" would finally die, Dua Lipa may have just crushed your dreams. She just had to sing the slang in her chorus for Sean's totally replay-able new R&B-tinged party jam "No Lie," and so we may be relegated to not only hearing the phrase "it's gonna be lit tonight," but actively singing along. All begrudging aside, "No Lie" is real sexy. Sean Paul shows a new level of sensuality in the song's opening chords. It's a bit moody before the rump-shaking hook comes in, and Paul's signature vocals are a rhythm in themselves. The video is equally hypnotizing as Paul and Lipa strut and lie about in a hall of mirrors. "No Lie" is up for grabs on iTunes and Spotify. (Billboard)
UK Vinyl Sales in 2016 Hit Highest Level Since 1991. UK vinyl sales reached their highest number since 1991 with more than 3.2 million records sold, according to recent findings published by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). The mark represents a 53 percent increase from 2015. It still pales to the 45 billion audio streams recorded in 2016, and even falls short of the first 1 billion stream marker in December, but it's a big deal for what was once considered a near-dead medium. David Bowie's posthumous Blackstar LP sold more than twice as many copies of 2015's top-seller, Adele's 25. Outside of the wax world, Adele has the highest-selling album with 25, Drake's "One Dance" was the best-selling single, and music consumption was up an overall 1.5 percent, or 123 million albums consumed. Taylor Swift's Brother Austin Swift Is a Sight for Sore Eyes at the Red Carpet Premiere of Live by Night. In case you were wondering, yes, Taylor Swift 's brother is still incredibly attractive (and may be getting even more attractive by the day). Austin Swift got our hearts pounding as he posed on the red carpet for the premiere of his latest film, Live by Night, Monday at Hollywood's TCL Chinese Theater. He looked dapper in a navy blue Gucci suit, which made his piercing blue eyes pop, topping it off with a trimmed beard that only heightened the look. After making his acting debut in I.T. last year, this new, Ben Affleck-directed movie is Austin's latest gig in which he plays a character named Mayweather beside big names such as Elle Fanning, Sienna Miller, and Brendan Gleeson. The movie is based in the Prohibition Era, centering around a group of individuals -- including Affleck, who plays the son of a Boston policeman -- and how they get involved in the world of organized crime. Austin, 24, took to Instagram to express his excitement over the film and the cast he got to act beside. Sharing the poster, he wrote, "It was so inspiring getting to work with this awesome team and just surreal to be at this premiere. Live by Night hits theaters the 13th." Meanwhile, Taylor's little bro studied film theory at the University of Notre Dame and started getting into acting before graduating in May 2015. "I was studying mainly film theory in college, but during one of my classes, a teaching assistant said they were having trouble casting this one role in the play they were putting up," He told People in September. "I went and read for it and ended up getting the part, but I had no idea at the time that it was the lead." He continued, "That was a crash course but a good one. I fell in love with the people and the process, and I've been hooked since then." In fact, Austin just wrapped up filming his third movie, Cover Versions, alongside Drake Bell and Katie Cassidy. The film focuses on four band members who tell varying accounts of a night of sex, drugs, and murder before their first big show at a popular music festival. It's expected to come out later this year. (Eonline)

The full 2017 Berlin festival lineup will be announced in the coming weeks. (Hollywood Reporter)
SAG-AFTRA Wants to Become a Defendant in Lawsuit Over Actors' Ages on IMDb. The guild asks to intervene and raises concern about California's defense of a new law in the face of the tech industry's might. The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists isn't content to sit on the sidelines as IMDb takes on the state of California over the enforcement of a controversial new law that prohibits the Internet movie hub from displaying an actor's age if the actor doesn't want it posted. On Monday, SAG-AFTRA moved to intervene with a rare request to become a defendant. "SAG-AFTRA is in a unique position to defend the constitutionality of this law, because of its expertise concerning the phenomenon of rampant age discrimination in the entertainment industry that gave rise to its involvement as the sponsor of AB 1687 and to the passage of this legislation," states the actors' guild in court papers. The development comes after AB 1687 went into effect after being signed into law last September by California Gov. Jerry Brown. IMDb sued outgoing California Attorney General Kamala Harris in November, arguing that the law abridges the First Amendment and doesn't address the root causes of age discrimination. On Friday, the Amazon subsidiary pushed for a preliminary injunction, telling the judge that the law "is unconstitutionally over-inclusive because it requires IMDb to censor the factual age-related information of producers, directors, casting agents, and myriad other entertainment professionals, many of whom face no realistic risk of age discrimination from the publication of their ages on IMDb." With a judge's nod, SAG-AFTRA would be in a more direct position to defend the law and share the discrimination complaints and grievances it has received in advance of lobbying for change. The guild proclaims itself to be an appropriate intervenor, and for precedent, points to the way that a union representing Los Angeles police officers in 2002 interjected itself in a federal lawsuit against the city over allegations of excessive force and how a union representing various churches acted similarly in 2006 in a litigation challenging the reference to God in the Pledge of Allegiance. SAG-AFTRA, being represented by attorney Douglas Mirell, also submits another concern. "In the case at bar, the statute added by AB 1687...is opposed by powerful corporate interests in the technology sector as well as by some civil liberties groups," it says. "As a result, it cannot be presumed that the State of California will defend this statute's constitutionality with the same force and vigor as it could if SAG-AFTRA, the union representing the interests of this law's direct beneficiaries, were standing by its side." Neil Patrick Harris Splits His Pants During Broadway Riff-Off With James Corden. Now that's what we call passion. Neil Patrick Harris challenged James Corden to a Broadway riff-off on The Late Late Show Monday, mocking Corden for winning a Tony Award for a "non-singing role." Determined to defend his talent, Corden launched into "Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat" from Guys and Dolls. NPH fired back with a powerhouse rendition of Gypsy's "Everything's Coming Up Roses." Impressed, Corden challenged Harris again. "Broadway ain't nothing unless you can belt out a heartbreaking ballad." Challenged accepted. Harris chose to croon "Being Alive" from Company, to which Corden responded with "On My Own" from Les Miserables. With no clear winner, the How I Met Your Mother alum claimed Broadway is "all about being sexy," so Corden belted out "All That Jazz" from Chicago, but Harris took it to the next level -- perhaps unfairly -- with his rendition of "Sugar Daddy" from Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Broadway fans will recall Harris starred as Hedwig on Broadway. The pair ended the riff-off with a show-stopping duet of "My Shot" from Hamilton, which basically blew the roof off The Late Late Show set. Unfortunately, Corden and Harris' passionate Broadway battle led to a wardrobe malfunction for NPH. "When I went down on my knees there, I had a nice wardrobe malfunction and split my pants from my ass to my knee," Harris admitted when they returned from commercial break. "I left it all on the stage for you." (Eonline)

Prior to the finale of their installment, Lauren told E! News the couple didn't know if they would return for a second season. "We're trying not to think too far. Your Wait for the Return of Scandal (and the Rest of TGIT) Just Got a Little Bit Longer. Bad news, Shondaland fans. The highly-anticipated return of ABC's tony #TGIT line-up has just been pushed back by one more week, making the wait for the season six premiere of Scandal, as well as the midseason returns of Grey's Anatomy and How to Get Away With Murder just a little bit longer. And the reason for such a massive shift? Well, you can thank a certain upcoming presidential inauguration. As President-elect Donald Trump is due to be sworn into office on Friday, Jan. 20, ABC has opted to air a new 20/20 special, America's First Family: The Trumps Go to Washington, in the 10 p.m. timeslot on Thursday, Jan. 19. And per ABC's press release, both Grey's and Scandal will be pushed in order to keep the big TGIT return intact. That, of course, means that you better be marking Thursday, Jan. 26 in your calendars as your new night to celebrate. And, hey, we've made it this far, Shondaland fans. What's one more week? (The 20/20 special will be preceded by repeat episodes of Grey's Anatomy and Scandal in the 8 and 9 p.m. hours, respectively.) When we last saw our favorite fictional D.C. players, they were in the midst of an especially crazy election year, not unlike us in the real world. With Cyrus (Jeff Perry) named Francisco Vargas' running mate, pitting him against Mellie (Bellamy Young), Olivia Pope's (Kerry Washington) continued power in the nation's capital remains very much in limbo. The results of the election will be revealed when the show returns in just a few weeks, and true to form, Scandal fans would be wise to expect the unexpected. Are you bummed we've got another week to wait for the return of TGIT? ABC's entire TGIT line-up, comprised of Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, and How to Get Away With Murder returns on its new date, Thursday, Jan. 26, beginning at 8 p.m. (Eonline)
Scandal's Season 6 Similarities to Real-World Politics Are Pure Coincidence, Swears Shonda Rhimes. However prescient Scandal may seem about our real-world political landscape when it returns for season six later this month, Shonda Rhimes wants to make it perfectly clear that the intention isn't to mirror our stranger-than-fiction reality. Addressing journalists via satellite during the show's panel at the 2017 Winter TCA Press Tour, the prolific producer fielded plenty of questions about how the results of Scandal's fictional election would compare to how it went down in the real world. "I don't really equate the two. That's not really the goal, obviously. If that had been goal, we would have waited until after the election," she admitted, reminding the room that production on the new season began back in July to accommodate Kerry Washington's pregnancy. "The goal had been really to tell the story we had been telling." This season, that story will get a bit more streamlined as the episode count is a bit smaller than previous seasons -- and Rhimes is happy about it. "I was delighted. It was a thing I wanted and asked for," she admitted. "It was a relief knowing that the season would be shorter. You don't have to tread water every once in a while. I think it actually made our storytelling more powerful, I hope." While we've still got a few weeks to go before we learn who will replace Fitz in the Oval Office, we know with certainty that we'll be watching President Grant begin his transition back to private citizen. And Tony Goldwyn is looking forward to exploring that. "I think Fitz will be a great ex-President. I'm feeling a little uncomfortable speaking those words," he said. "I honestly always just imagined... from the very beginning, one of Fitz's personal struggles was I think he felt very much that he could be perhaps more effective and happier outside of the presidency than within it. So I think he would have great dreams of being an effective, impactful ex-president, but again, I have no idea whether that will come to pass." As for how the show's leading lady has adjusted back to work following the birth of her second child, she admitted that it's still a work in progress. "I'm still figuring that out because we're just back at work, but I guess the nice thing is I did it once before because this is my second child that I've birthed," Washington said. "It's been really interesting for me as an actor because I work very physically... so the challenge of my physicality changing dramatically two times now in the life of the show and Olivia's body not changing... has been a real exercise for me and has kind of taught me to grow my tool box." Scandal returns Thursday, Jan. 26 at 9 p.m. on ABC. (Eonline)
Twin Peaks Finally Has a Premiere Date at Showtime. Put on a pot of coffee and prepare yourselves: Twin Peaks is finally almost here. Showtime's revival of the 1990 ABC series has often felt like a far-off dream, unlikely to ever actually appear on screens in front of us, but now it's looking like we're actually going to get to watch it, and relatively soon! The network announced during today's TV Critics' Association press tour that the new season will debut on Sunday, May 21 at 9 p.m., with a two hour premiere, meaning we're just five months away from that cherry pie we've been craving. The season will consist of 18 hours total, and Showtime subscribers will be able to watch the third and fourth hours immediately after the first two. That means you're going to need some of that damn fine coffee to stay up that night to watch four hours of Twin Peaks, but we're sure it will be worth it. Showtime exec Gary Levine promised that "the Twin Peaks you're going to see is the pure heroin version of David Lynch," which is an odd but appropriate comment about the odd series. The revival picks up 25 years after the shocking murder of teen homecoming queen Laura Palmer rocked a quaint northwestern town (and about 25 years after the dead Laura Palmer promised she'd see us in 25 years, funnily enough!). Stay tuned for more Twin Peaks news from TCA! Twin Peaks debuts Sunday, May 21 at 9 p.m. on Showtime. (Eonline)
Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher initially hated "Bright Lights" -- the documentary about them that premiered Saturday night on HBO, sources say. "They came around. They hated it at first. They fought like cats and dogs with the directors, who had to kiss their asses to get it done," one insider told me. Fisher Stevens, who co-directed with Alexis Bloom, told E! that Fisher "was a little shocked by the intimacy of it. "There were little things that really bugged her, but in the end she fell in love with the film and thought it was a love letter to her and her mother, and that's the good news, that she loved it," Stevens said. The mother and daughter eventually decided to promote the doc -- which first screened last May at the Cannes Film Festival and which HBO decided to air earlier than planned after the pair died within a day of each other just after Christmas. Reba McEntire Soap From 'Desperate Housewives' Creator Scores ABC Pilot Pickup. The untitled Marc Cherry project marks the network's first drama pilot order of the season. ABC is not wasting any time getting a jump on pilot season. While most networks are eagerly waiting for scripts to come in following yet another late start to development season, the Disney-owned network has handed out its first drama pilot order of the season. Scoring that designation is an untitled soap from Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry, starring Reba McEntire. The drama revolves around Ruby Adair (McEntire), the sheriff of colorful small town Oxblood, Ky., who finds her Red State outlook challenged when a young FBI agent of Middle Eastern descent is sent to help her solve a horrific crime. Together they form an uneasy alliance as Ruby takes the agent behind the lace curtains of this Southern gothic community to meet an assortment of bizarre characters, each with a secret of their own. The logline marks a subtle change from when the drama was first announced a month ago, when it did not feature any sort of Red State or political affiliation reference. The drama landed at ABC in a competitive situation. Cherry will pen the script and exec produce the ABC Studios drama alongside McEntire, Cherry's longtime producing partner Sabrina Wind -- who will oversee for the duo's Cherry-Wind Productions banner -- with Acme Productions' Mindy Schultheis and Michael Hanel also on board to exec produce. The project brings Cherry back to ABC following Desperate Housewives and back to producers ABC Studios following Lifetime's Devious Maids. For McEntire, the effort marks her first dramatic role and latest for ABC following multicamera comedy Malibu Country. "I am thrilled to be coming back home to ABC," Cherry said. "What makes it all the sweeter is Reba McEntire is coming with me. And we can't wait to share with our fans this wonderful Southern Gothic soap opera we've been cooking up for them." The Cherry/McEntire drama comes as more projects are being set up this development season with stars attached in a bid to land top talent before the competitive rush of pilot season when more than 80 dramas and comedies are vying for the same stars. The drama marks ABC's second official pilot order of the season and joins political family comedy Libby & Malcolm, starring Felicity Huffman and Courtney B. Vance Both pilots have broad appeal as networks scramble post-development orders to ensure their offerings reach a larger audience in a post-Trump America. ABC Entertainment chief Channing Dungey recently acknowledged that the rise of Trump and his blue-collar support forced her to question whether her programming was too focused on upper-income brackets. Cosmopolitan Magazine Drama Ordered to Series at Freeform; 'The Fosters' Renewed. 'Faking It' favorite Katie Stevens stars in "The Bold Type" From 'Parenthood' grad Sarah Watson. Freeform is ready to explore its issues. The Disney-owned cable network has handed out a series order to Cosmopolitan magazine drama The Bold Type (formerly known as Issues), The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The 12-episode drama will debut in summer 2017. Ahead of its time in front of press at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour, the former ABC Family also renewed The Fosters for a fifth season, which will see the critical favorite hit the 100-episode milestone. Previously developed at NBC, The Bold Type -- inspired by the life of Hearst Magazine Chief Content Officer (and former Cosmo Editor-in-Chief) Joanna Coles -- offers a glimpse into the outrageous lives and loves of those responsible for a global women's magazine called Scarlet. The rising generation of Scarlet women lean on one another as they find their own voices in a sea of intimidating leaders. Together, they explore sexuality, identity, love and fashion. Bold Type hails from Universal Television -- marking a key off-network sale for the studio and a rare studio buy for Freeform. Parenthood alum Sarah Watson created the drama and serves as showrunner. David Bernad (Superstore), Coles and Ruben Fleischer (Superstore) executive produce. Holly Whidden co-executive produces the Universal Television and The District drama. Faking It favorite Katie Stevens stars in the drama as Jane, who has just been promoted to her dream job as a writer for Scarlet magazine. Equal parts passion and determination, she is sometimes a little overwhelmed by life in New York. Melora Hardin (Transparent) stars as the editor-in-chief of the show's magazine. "The Bold Type is our love letter to modern feminism and aims to be a destination for authentic female friendship and empowerment," said Freeform exec vp programming Karey Burke. Bold Type arrives as Freeform is set to say farewell to flagship drama Pretty Little Liars as well as Switched at Birth in 2017. Its slate includes recently ordered comedy Alone Together, The Fosters, Baby Daddy, Shadowhunters, Stitchers, Young & Hungry, Beyond, Famous in Love and Marvel's Cloak and Dagger, the latter of which may not air until 2018. On the pilot side, Freeform has comedy Brown Girls as well as mermaid drama The Deep remaining in contention. (Hollywood Reporter)
TGIT Return Pushed to Accommodate '20/20' Inauguration Special. 2017 debuts of 'Grey's Anatomy,' 'Scandal' and 'How to Get Away With Murder' have been delayed to Jan. 26. ABC has delayed the return of its Shonda Rhimes-produced TGIT lineup. The Disney-owned network announced Monday that it has pushed back the returns of Grey's Anatomy and How to Get Away With Murder, as well as the season premiere of Scandal, from Jan. 19 to Jan. 26. In place of the three dramas, ABC News will broadcast a pre-inauguration 20/20 special, America's First Family: The Trumps Go to Washington. That will air from 10-11 p.m. ET/PT on Jan. 19, with repeats of Grey's and Scandal at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., respectively. The timing of the delay comes as Scandal is poised to pick up its sixth season with the results of the show's central presidential election. The storyline features a female presidential candidate -- the former first lady -- running against a Latino Democratic candidate. ABC stresses that the move was made in order to accommodate the ABC News special and to ensure that TGIT returned with three original episodes -- and has nothing to do with the content of the episode. Scandal's return comes after the Kerry Washington political soap was bumped from its traditional fall debut to accommodate her second pregnancy. ABC has refrained from using its TGIT marketing campaign until all three of its dramas on the night were from Rhimes. (Hollywood Reporter)

Roc Nation, Tidal Challenge Authority of Prince Estate Administrator.
(Eonline)

The follow-up to Boyle's groundbreaking 1996 drama re-unites the original film's cast of Ewan McGregor, Kelly Macdonald, Jonny Lee Miller, Robert Carlyle and Ewen Bremner. Viceroy's House, a period drama from Bend it Like Beckham director Gurinder Chadha starring Gillian Anderson, Om Puri, Michael Gambon and Downton Abbey's Hugh Bonneville, will have its world premiere in Berlin out of competition, as will The Bar, the latest from Spanish director Alex de la Iglesia (The Oxford Murders).
The Bachelor Twins Haley and Emily Ferguson Are Getting Their Own Spinoff Show. Blondes really do have more fun! Bachelor Nation, prepare for yet another spinoff as twins Haley and Emily Ferguson are set to get their own spinoff show on Freeform, the network announced at the 2017 Winter TCA Press Tour on Tuesday. And guess what? There's already a premiere date as their new show will debut on Monday, March 20. But it's not entirely a new show. Haley and Emily, who became fan-favorites after appearing on Ben Higgins' season of The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise season three, will take over for their former TV BF and BFF Lauren Bushnell, starring in the second installment of the Happily Ever After? series. During the first season, which documented Ben and Lauren adjusting to their post-Bachelor life in Denver, Haley and Emily made frequent appearances, Their season, titled The Twins: Happily Ever After, will find the twins saying goodbye to the comfort and luxuries of living under their mom's roof and beginning the hilarious journey of figuring out life on their own while searching for independence and a new career. The first season of Happily Ever After? was the network's highest-rated reality series in three years. So does this mean Ben and Lauren's time in front of the cameras is done for awhile? Prior to the finale of their installment, Lauren told E! News the couple didn't know if they would return for a second season. "We're trying not to think too far. Until that's something that's actually presented to us, we haven't really even thought about it." The Twins: Happily Ever After? will premiere Monday, March 20 at 9 p.m. on Freeform. (Eonline)
