Dixileta Drive exit closed Thursday evening at I-17 for maintenance work

The northbound Interstate 17 off-ramp at Dixileta Drive in north Phoenix will be closed overnight Thursday, Jan. 26, while crews remove temporary barrier wall and add pavement markings.

The closure will be in effect from 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday, Jan. 27, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Drivers who normally would use the northbound Dixileta exit and bridge over I-17 to reach the southbound I-17 frontage road can instead exit at Jomax Road and use the northbound frontage road to approach Dixileta Drive. A flag crew will be in place to guide traffic accessing local neighborhoods through the work zone as needed. That traffic will have access to the Dixileta bridge and the southbound I-17 frontage road.

Motorists also can access neighborhoods west of I-17 by exiting northbound I-17 at Happy Valley Road and traveling west to reach northbound 35th Avenue.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
