Expect brief delays on both I-19 and Country Club Drive in Nogales on Sunday

Motorists traveling on Interstate 19 in Nogales may encounter brief delays on Sunday, Jan. 29, while the Arizona Department of Transportation removes large trees near Country Club Drive.

Intermittent full closures of I-19 in both directions will be in effect at approximately milepost 3 (kilometer post 5) between7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Motorists should plan for delays of up to 15 minutes during the work.

The closures also will affect motorists using County Club Drive, which passes beneath I-19. Delays on Country Club Drive will also be up to 15 minutes.

The work is part of a project to create a “recovery zone” adjacent to travel lanes on I-19 between Nogales and Tucson.

The project began in Nogales and is proceeding north along I-19.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
