The actor has welcomed his first child with girlfriend Rosalind Ross, his rep confirmed to E! News Monday night. The couple named their baby boy Lars Gerard Gibson. He was born January 22 in Los Angeles, weighing in at 5 lbs. 5 oz. "They're thrilled and Lars is adorable," a source shared with People who first reported the news. "Their family is all around them and Mel is over the moon. They're home and everybody is healthy and happy!" Recently, the couple was able to walk the red carpet at the 2017 Golden Globes. They appeared to have stayed home, however, when it was time for the after-parties. Back in September, E! News confirmed the couple was expecting their first child together. Mel has eight other children and most recently fathered a little girl in 2009 with ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva. "Mel loves being a dad, and he and Rose can't wait to be parents together," a close family friend of the couple previously shared with People. "The last two years have been some of his happiest years he's ever had." Professionally, Mel recently directed the big-screen movie Hacksaw Ridge that ultimately received a 10-minute standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival. While Oscar nominations aren't announced until Tuesday morning, the actor already received a Golden Globes nomination for his directing skills. Congratulations to the couple on their big news. Keshia Knight Pulliam Gives Birth to Her First Child, a Baby Girl Named Ella Grace. Congratulations to Keshia Knight Pulliam! The former Cosby Show star and her estranged husband Ed Hartwell gave birth to their first child together, a baby girl named Ella Grace. "Ella Grace has arrived!!!" the actress wrote on Instagram Monday afternoon with a picture of her daughter's feet wrapped up in cozy socks. Keshia first announced her pregnancy in July, taking to Instagram to share the news, holding up a pink cupcake and writing, "Surprise!!! We have a new addition coming soon..." Unfortunately, Keshia's pregnancy has not been without its ups and downs. Just a few days after she made the announcement, Hartwell filed for divorce seven months into their marriage. E! News obtained the documents for Keshia's response to his filing, which stated she "admits only the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation." She opened up about the split in an interview with Entertainment Weekly shortly after news broke, revealing there had been problems with infidelity in the past. "In the process, I found out I was pregnant. And I had to take another hard look and decide if I wanted to try to work through this and forgive him for the sake of the child. Like, I had divorce papers ready. I presented it to him...Once I was pregnant I did decide to give him that one last chance." She continued, "The part that hurt me the most when he filed for divorce was that he had asked me to give him another chance, and I was willing to do that and forgive him, for our family." Still, Keshia has remained positive upon welcoming Ella Grace. In November, she took to Instagram to share a sonogram of the baby and wrote, "This has been this single most challenging year of my life. However, I wake up this Thanksgiving more grateful & in awe of God's power than ever. Thru it all this little face has kept me going & helped me tap into strength I didn't even know I possess." She continued, "I am so eternally grateful for my little Ella. I would not trade any of what I have gone thru for her. She is my greatest accomplishment & joy. She has inspired my smile even thru the tears. I am so proud she has chosen me to be her mommy... #Grateful #ThereIsAlwaysARainbowAfterTheStorm #IfICanDoItSoCanYou." Congratulations again to the new mama on her beautiful baby girl. (Eonline)
Laura Prepon and Ben Foster Expecting First Child. Laura Prepon is pregnant! The Orange Is the New Black star, 36, is expecting her first child with fiance Ben Foster, a source confirms to PEOPLE. The news comes a day after the couple attended the Creative Coalition's annual Spotlight Awards at the Kia Supper Suite during the Sundance Film Festival on Sunday night. "Ben seemed really protective and kept very close to Laura the entire night. He was holding on to her arm as they walked in and kept by her side during the dinner," an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "Neither of them got up much to mingle. They definitely enjoyed dinner. I noticed she finished her plate." Though sources confirmed to PEOPLE that the couple were engaged in October, the low-key duo, who have known each other for 18 years, had kept their relationship quiet. In fact, even Prepon's friend and former That '70s Show costar Ashton Kutcher was out of the loop. "I get it. But private lives include friends!" Kutcher joked to Prepon on an October episode of Live with Kelly, three days after her engagement news went public. "Like, I shouldn't find out when I get off the plane!" "This little baby just got engaged. Over/under on me crying at the wedding ... " another of the actress's former That '70s Show costars, Danny Masterson -- who is a longtime friend of Foster, 36 -- captioned a throwback Instagram snap of the pals from their time on the show, which ran from 1998 to 2006. Prepon has starred as Alex Vause on Netflix's critically acclaimed series Orange Is the New Black since its inception in 2013, and appeared in the Emily Blunt-led thriller The Girl on the Train last year. Foster has acted consistently over the past 20 years -- most notably with roles in films like 3:10 to Yuma, The Messenger, and Hell or High Water, as well as for his run as Russell Corwin on HBO's early-2000s hit Six Feet Under. A rep for Prepon could not be reached. (Eonline)

"NFL on FOX" star Erin Andrews has revealed she battled cervical cancer during the regular season -- which required multiple surgeries -- but she didn't miss a single game. The good news -- Andrews says she's "cancer-free" now ... and plans on working the Super Bowl. The 38-year-old sideline reporter broke the news to MMQB ... saying she was diagnosed back in Sept. but told doctors she didn't want to miss any work. She ended up missing two tapings of "Dancing With the Stars" before her first surgery in October. Two days after the procedure, she flew to Green Bay to shoot a segment with Packers star Jordy Nelson. "Should I have been standing for a full game five days after surgery? Let's just say the doctor didn't recommend that," Andrews told MMQB ... noting, "sports were my escape." Andrews got better news on Nov. 17 -- when doctors told her she wouldn't need radiation or chemo. (TMZ)
Brooke Mueller out of rehab, back to 'being a full-time mom'. Brooke Mueller is out of rehab following a rocky incident involving her children last fall. "I'm really proud of how well Brooke is doing after her treatment plan and being a full-time mom again," Mueller's mother Moira Fiore told Entertainment Tonight. "She's very committed to being the best mom and staying healthy." Mueller, who shares 7-year-old twins Bob and Max with ex Charlie Sheen, entered rehab late last year after suffering a meltdown, her sister Sydney Wolofsky said. It was reported in November that Mueller, 39, went off the rails and allegedly struck her kids while under the influence -- something her ex-boyfriend Peter Thomas Roth denies. Utah police found Mueller, her two kids, and the nanny in a small town outside Salt Lake City. She was subsequently hospitalized and underwent a psych evaluation. After the incident, Wolofsky explained, "She was in the hospital for a little bit. I do know she woke up in the hospital after detox and my mom asked her what she wanted to do at this point, and she was the one that said, 'I want to go back into rehab, and I want to stay there for a while.'" A request for comment from Mueller wasn't immediately returned. (PageSix)
THE OTHER STUFF . . .
John Cena Set to Host 2017 Kids' Choice Awards. John Cena just signed up to get slimed. Nickelodeon announced Tuesday that the professional wrestler and television personality is set to host the 2017 Kids' Choice Awards, which airs live on March 11. Cena is no stranger to the award show circuit, most recently landing the coveted gig at the 2016 ESPYs as well as the 2016 Teen Choice Awards opposite Victoria Justice. Cena brought major laughs to both memorable events, and this year's KCAs will certainly follow suit. So what can one expect the E! star to bring to the table? Well, plenty of green slime (as is tradition at the Kids' Choice Awards), hilarious skits and as always... more than just a small handful of surprises. With such a major news kicking off the 2017 Kids' Choice Awards, the bar is set pretty high for upcoming announcements regarding categories, presenters, and nominations. All that, plus more, is expected to be released in the coming weeks. Paris Jackson Makes Magazine Cover Debut for Rolling Stone. Paris Jackson is no longer just Michael Jackson's only daughter. The late King of Pop's little girl is all grown up on the cover of Rolling Stone, making her magazine debut at just 18-years-old. The Today Show revealed the stunning cover on Tuesday morning's broadcast. Since the start of 2017, Jackson has already landed more than just a handful of "firsts," and as an insider tells E! News, it's only the beginning of Paris' arrival into the spotlight. "She's excited to be exploring her creative interests. You're going to be seeing a lot from her this year," our source shares. As for what exactly Paris' creative interests entail, expect the teen to follow closely in her father's footsteps. "She's really looking forward to the opportunities ahead," the insider adds. "Paris is pursuing modeling, acting, and songwriting. She's going to see what kind of shape it all takes." Earlier this month, Jackson made a rare red carpet appearance at a 2017 Golden Globes after-party, posing for a photo with Sofia Richie, a fellow child of music royalty. Then just last week, E! News confirmed Paris flew to the City of Light to shoot her first major modeling gig, in addition to meeting with Christian Dior. Fast forward to Paris Fashion Week, where the young starlet sat front row at Givenchy and Dior Homme's runway shows and snapped selfies with the likes of Bella Hadid and rapper A$AP Rocky. Meanwhile, Paris' brothers, 19-year-old Prince Jackson and 14-year-old Blanket Jackson have both maintained relatively low profiles since their father's passing in 2009. Michael stays active on social media while studying at Loyola Marymount University in L.A., and Blanket stays busy with martial arts and attending private school. (Eonline)
Stranger Things Stars to Present at the SAG Awards. The SAG Awards just got a little bit strange. I can exclusively reveal that the young stars of Stranger Things -- first-time nominees Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin and Finn Wolfhard -- will be among the presenters at Sunday's big show. And if it's anything like the Golden Globes, expect to see lots of pics of the Netflix stars and their favorite celebs! Also joining the list of presenters are Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead), Alia Shawkat (Search Party), Rashida Jones (Angie Tribeca) and SAG-AFTRA president Gabrielle Carteris. Jane Fonda and Dolly Parton will present the Life Achievement Award to their 9 to 5 co-star Lily Tomlin. La La Land, Moonlight, Manchester by the Sea and Hidden Figures are among the films up for honors this year as are small-screen projects like The Crown, The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story and Stranger Things. The 23rd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be simulcast live on TNT and TBS on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. (Eonline)
Millie Bobby Brown Is the Latest Celeb to Score a Calvin Klein Campaign. Millie Bobby Brown is Calvin Klein's latest celebrity muse. The Stranger Things starlet joins an exceptionally long list of A-listers who've lent their Hollywood good lucks to the design line, and Millie's first major fashion campaign is nothing short of epic. In the ad, which is pegged to Calvin Klein's newest made-to-measure service, the 12-year-old stuns in a red, gold and plum fringe blouse worn over a simple white T-shirt that is tucked into a pair of sophisticated tuxedo pants. She wears little to no makeup and pulls her signature cropped 'do behind her ears. Ahead of its release, Brown shared a sneak peek on Instagram captioned, "I am so honored to be apart of this." In addition to Brown, Calvin Klein tapped Aussie actress Abbey Lee and model Natalie Westling for the campaign promoting By Appointment, a tailoring and personal styling experience previously reserved solely for celebrities. Since landing her big break on the popular Netflix series last year, it's been quite a wild ride for Millie as she continues to climb the ladder of super stardom. At the end of the day, though, Millie is still just a kid, and her interests reflect. While speaking to E!'s Giuliana Rancic on the 2017 Golden Globes red carpet, she dished about her 13th birthday plans. "Probably just hanging out with the boys," Millie admitted. "Probably going to catch a movie or something. I don't celebrate really crazy. I don't think my dad wants to celebrate it." Birthday parties aside, Millie certainly has a reason to celebrate her ongoing success both on TV and in the fashion world. Congratulations! (Eonline)
Jerry O'Connell Weighs In on Live! With Kelly Co-Host Decision: ''Let Them Take Their Time." Jerry O'Connell isn't in any rush to make his co-host seat on Live! With Kelly permanent. The celeb recently caught up with E! News about ABC's decision to choose Michael Strahan's replacement for the popular daytime talk show opposite Kelly Ripa, and from the looks of it, we're going to have to wait a bit longer. "I'm obviously not a boss over there, but I can say from everything that I've heard that they're not ready to make any sort of decision on a co-host on Live! With Kelly yet," he exclusively revealed to us. "And you know what? Let them take their time." Jerry explained, "Kelly's fine by herself. Kelly does a great job. I watch every day and Kelly's great." But when he's not watching from home, Jerry is just as happy to fill in as Live!'s very own "substitute teacher." O'Connell joked, "Kelly calls me when somebody backs out. If there is some sort of emergency Real Housewives situation that [Andy Cohen] has to fly off to, that's when they call me. I'm like the substitute teacher." He went on, "If Anderson Cooper has to fly to the Middle East because there's some crisis, that's when they call me up," before adding, "I love [Kelly.] I love that whole show. I'm proud to say I'm their substitute." One of Jerry's many gigs that isn't temporary for the moment? Hosting the AKC National Championship presented by Royal Canin, of course! O'Connell gushed about the annual dog show, telling us the role was a perfect fit for an animal lover such as himself... even if he considered himself unqualified for the job. "I know nothing about dog shows or showing dogs or breeding or anything like that," Jerry recalled telling the AKC. But lucky for the celeb, Jerry's passion for his own pooches sealed the deal. "My wife and I have three dogs and I post about them way more than I post about my kids," he teased, later calling the event a "real blast." He continued, "These dogs are just special... and hopefully I bring a little levity to the situation." Don't miss the AKC National Championship presented by Royal Canin when it airs Monday, Jan. 23 on the Hallmark Channel. (Eonline)
Wynonna Judd on Ashley's Trump rant: 'I am not my sister's keeper'. Ashley Judd has faced backlash for her anti-Trump comments at the Women's March this weekend and her sister Wynonna is speaking out about the furor, writing on Twitter, "What she does publicly is none of my business. If she asks, I will tell her what I think personally. There is a higher power & I am not it." Wynonna added, "I am not my sister's keeper. The end." Ashley Judd took the stage at the Women's March and stated, "I am a nasty woman. Not as nasty as a man who looks like he bathes in Cheeto dust, a man whose words are a dis to America, Electoral College-sanctioned hate speech contaminating this national anthem." The actress also read a poem about President Donald Trump. Since then, Wynonna has spent the past several days tweeting about her response to her sister's stance and the negative reactions she's received for sharing that response. It all began when the singer wrote, "A reminder for people visiting my site. For me, it's about love of & fellowship w/ fans. I don't do politics on here." In another message, she responded to a fan's tweet about Ashley Judd and wrote, "The whole thing is toxic. I'm not giving her all the credit. She doesn't have that kind of power." Wynonna said she didn't want to share a political stance, but her messages implied she disagreed with her sister. Wynonna and Ashley Judd are both daughters of Naomi Judd. They have different fathers. Ashley Judd has spoken out against her mother and sister in the past. In her 2012 book, she wrote she was a victim of sexual assault and her sister and mother did not believe her when she confided in them. (PageSix)
The daughter of NY Jets great Mark Gastineau is coming out swinging at the NFL -- saying the league has "major f***ing problems" when it comes to brain injuries like CTE. Of course, Mark recently revealed he's been diagnosed with dementia, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's ... and suggests it was caused by blows to the head he sustained during his football career. So, when we saw his reality star daughter, Brittny Gastineau, leaving Catch in West Hollywood -- we asked her what the league should do to handle the issue ... and that's when she lashed out. We also asked Brittny if she was in favor of players using medical marijuana -- she's a big fan of that. (TMZ)
Donald Trump thinks Hillary Clinton was a disaster on foreign policy and health care, but he clearly thinks she knows her drapes. One of the first orders of business for the Trump Administration was to take down the fiery red drapes that flanked President Obama in the Oval Office. The replacement ... the very same drapes Hillary Clinton chose for her husband back in 1993. The gold fabric endured throughout the Clinton presidency but went into storage when George W. chose a deeper color, more in the brown than gold family. President Obama went code red. When Hillary chose the drapes, she said she picked the color because she wanted the Oval Office to be "more dynamic, to show more energy." Trump's taste is non-partisan ... he's also re-installed Reagan's sunbeam rug and W's gold brocade sofas. As for Trump's penchant for gold ... well, check out his NYC pad. (TMZ)
Barack and Michelle Obama flew from Washington D.C. to Palm Springs for a grand total of 3 days before jumping on a private jet and going back from where they came and then some ... so the question, was that the plan or was Palm Springs a washout? Fact is ... it was raining like hell all weekend. It was also super cold for SoCal. Obama got in one round of golf and that's about it, before they boarded Sir Richard Branson's private jet and took off for the Caribbean. On the surface it looks like the Obamas bailed because of crappy weather. But we found out their departure date was set even before the former prez left Washington, D.C. We're told Palm Springs airport officials had conversations with the Secret Service about leaving on Monday, days before Branson's jet landed in the desert. It's possible the Obamas made the decision to bail before leaving D.C. because they saw the weather report, but if that were the case why go to Palm Springs at all ... just beeline it for sunny Necker Island. And there's this ... Sasha and Malia, who were staying in D.C. when their parents left for Palm Springs, took Branson's jet Saturday from Maryland to Palm Springs. We're assuming the girls went to the Caribbean with their parents, but we haven't see pics ... so far. It could just be the former Prez just wanted a round of golf with Larry Ellison and then blew out of town. It's what ballers do, right? (TMZ)
Chelsea Handler insulted Melania Trump ... and it's backfiring. Chelsea says she wouldn't interview the First Lady because "she can barely speak English." Handler failed to mention Melania speaks 5 languages ... French, Italian, German, Slovene and, of course, English. Chelsea then unleashed on Melania, saying she wouldn't book the First Lady or President Donald Trump for her Netflix show because "I don't respect either one of those people." It's unclear what grudge she has against Melania, other than proximity. Handler's comments are essentially shaming immigrants who try to adapt to American culture, and when people bully them by making fun of their level of skill in mastering the English language it inhibits them from speaking altogether. Choose your battles wisely. (TMZ)
Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett signs with CAA. Valerie Jarrett, senior adviser during all eight years of Barack Obama's presidency, has signed with CAA. The agency said that they will "collaborate with Jarrett as she embarks upon the next chapter of her illustrious and noteworthy 35-year career." In the White House, Jarrett oversaw the offices of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs, and was chair of the White House Council on Women and Girls. CAA last week announced that it had signed former senator Barbara Boxer. Before her tenure with Obama, Jarrett served as CEO of The Habitat Co. in Chicago, chairman of the Chicago Transit Board, and a number of posts under Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley. She was appointed last week to the board of trustees of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. She also practiced law at two private firms and served as chairman of the board of the Chicago Stock Exchange, chairman of the University of Chicago Medical Center Board of Trustees and director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Before taking her post in the Obama administration, Jarrett was a co-chair of the transition team. She also did a cameo on CBS's "The Good Wife" in 2014. (PageSix)

If there's one thing football fans and Super Bowl viewers look forward to year after year, it's the clever and unique commercials from Skittles. While the big game featuring the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots isn't for another two weeks, Skittles has decided to share a little treat with fans and foodies alike. In their game day commercial just released, a nice young man tries to woo his crush Katie who he thinks is resting in her bedroom late at night. As he tries to keep quiet from the front yard, the boy begins throwing Skittles into the window hoping it grabs her attention. For better or worse, he ends up winning not over Katie but the whole family as everyone from police officers, grandparents, and even a gopher try to grab a flavor one by one. Last year, the candy company owned by Mars, Inc. ran an equally hilarious commercial featuring the one and only Steven Tyler. Titled "The Portrait," the Aerosmith singer was able to "rock the rainbow" in his commercial that earned well over 24 million views on YouTube. For those who aren't up to date on their sports, next month's Super Bowl will feature Lady Gaga performing the halftime show. In addition, Luke Bryan has been given the task to sing the National Anthem. As for those invested in the commercials, you haven't missed too much so far. Intel had the honors of sharing the very first Super Bowl commercial of the season that happened to feature New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. Who will come out on top this year for commercials? Let's just say its game on! (Eonline)

Lin-Manuel Miranda, Timberlake, Sting get Oscar music nods. Lin-Manuel Miranda is getting closer to EGOT status, thanks to his Oscar nomination for best original song. The "Hamilton" creator picked up a nod Tuesday for composing "How Far I'll Go" from the animated film "Moana." "You know, I feel fine," Miranda said with a laugh in an interview with The Associated Press moments after he learned of the nomination. "I am thrilled to get to go to the Oscars, honestly," he added. "I won't even be a little modest about that. I've been a fan of the Oscars telecast since I was a kid -- I used to memorize Billy Crystal's musical monologs." For his work on "Hamilton" and "In the Heights," Miranda has won three Tonys and two Grammys. He won an Emmy with songwriter Tom Kitt for outstanding original music and lyrics for the 2013 Tony Awards. His competition at the Academy Awards includes another multi-award winning musician: Justin Timberlake. The former boy band leader, who has won 9 Grammys and 4 Emmys, earned his first Oscar nomination Tuesday for his No.1 hit "Can't Stop the Feeling!" from the animated film "Trolls." Sting and J. Ralph also scored a nomination for "The Empty Chair" from "Jim: The James Foley Story," giving Sting his fourth nomination in the category throughout his career. "Audition (The Fools Who Dream") and "City of Stars" from the hit "La La Land" -- both by Justin Hurwitz, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul -- round out the five nominees. "City of Stars" won the Golden Globe for best original song earlier this month, besting Miranda and Timberlake's songs. Miranda, 37, is currently in London filming "Mary Poppins Returns." He said he didn't realize the Oscar nominations were happening today. "I'm so messed up with time zones," he said. Miranda said writing the music for Disney's "Moana" -- which also earned a nomination for best animated feature film -- was a dream job. "I wanted to write a Disney song since I was 9 years old when Sebastian the crab (in "The Little Mermaid") started singing calypso music -- it changed my life," he said. "This is a result of three years of work, two of which were concurrent with being in a Broadway show at the same time, so it's enormously joyous to get to celebrate that work ... It's really thrilling." Timberlake shares his nomination with Karl Johan Schuster and Max Martin, the pop mastermind who was nominated for the original song Oscar last year for co-writing the Weeknd's "Earned It" from "Fifty Shades of Grey." Other nominees last year featured well-known acts like this year's group, including Lady Gaga and Sam Smith, who won the Oscar for "Writing's on the Wall" from "Spectre." The Feb. 26 Oscarcast airs live on ABC. (PageSix)

Carlos Vives is featuring a very special lady in his new music video, Miss Universe finalist Ariadna Gutierrez. The video for "Al Filo de Tu Amor" was shot in New York, and the former Miss Colombia is all glam. "I jumped for joy, and it was very exciting to have my manager call me and tell me about this. It had always been a dream to be part of a music video of a Colombian icon like Carlos Vives. I feel honored to now become a part of the history of his videos," the beauty queen said while making the video. "Thank you, E! for sharing my video. 'Al filo de Tu Amor' shows that a city as diverse as New York can come together with my music. I'm singing to you, E!" the singer told E! News. "Thank you to Carlos for including me in such a beautiful song and journey! And to E! for helping us spread the love!" Gutierrez tells E! News. After the worldwide success of "La Bicicleta" featuring Shakira, Vives now plays the role of a DJ at a local radio station in New York that falls in love with a sophisticated woman, played by Ariadna. The video begins just as she decides to delete Carlos' contact information from her phone. From that point on, Carlos begins to wander through the Big Apple looking for her in many different places. We have to admit, we didn't expect the ending of this story. (Eonline)

Dennis Quaid calls leaked 'Dog's Purpose' video a 'scam.' "A Dog's Purpose" star Dennis Quaid refuses to believe that there was any animal abuse on the set of the film. "It makes me angry. I was there. I never saw any abuse of any animal. If there had been, I would have walked," Quaid, 62, told Entertainment Tonight on Monday. "My experience is that the animals were treated great. There was no animal abuse." The timing of the release of the controversial video, which shows a German shepherd being forced into rushing water, also seems suspect to the actor. "That video that someone took and sold for money and held on to for a year and a half until right before the film's coming out, does not tell the whole story," he fumed. "First of all, it's been edited and manipulated. And I think it's a scam, to tell you the truth." Quaid also said that he felt the clip's lack of context made the situation look worse than it actually was. "That was towards the end of the day and I would not say, in real context, that the dog was frightened. The dog was acting like a dog who was kind of tired of taking a bath and was ready to get out. And, in fact, that's what happened," he said "They took the dog out." "I know that no abuse occurred," he continued. "What they saw was completely out of context. It was edited ... and all of the footage I saw, the dog was going into the water happily and had to be restrained, actually, from going into the water many times during that day." (PageSix)
ABC apologizes for posting Hanks, Adams Oscar noms. Amy Adams and Tom Hanks are not Oscar nominees this year, but for a moment Tuesday morning both were listed on the official Oscars website as having scored lead acting nominations. ABC Digital, which posted the nominations to Oscars.com, issued an apology for the errors, which were quickly identified and removed from the site. Screengrabs of the phantom nominations spread quickly on social media, however. Hanks was listed as a best acting nominee for "Sully" while Adams was posted alongside the lead actresses for "Arrival," leading to mix-ups by various news outlets, including The Associated Press. ABC apologized to "the Academy, press and fans for any confusion." The ABC statement also said the nominees announced by the Academy on Twitter were accurate. Representatives for Hanks and Adams did not immediately respond to requests for comment. (PageSix)
Birds & Animals Unlimited -- the group responsible for training the dogs in "A Dog's Purpose" -- insists Hercules the German Shepherd wasn't forced to perform a stunt, and claims the video doesn't tell the full story. In a letter to TMZ, the org admits Hercules was resistant to entering the pool from a new location, but they cut right away, and went back to the original spot where he'd trained for the scene ... and he jumped in, happily. Birds & Animals claims the dog was not thrown in from the spot where he resisted, but feels the "falsely edited video" implied that. TMZ did not edit the video. We posted all the footage as obtained. The letter also addresses the voice in the video saying, "Just gotta throw him in." (TMZ)

Stephen Colbert Set to Host the 2017 Primetime Emmy Awards. Stephen Colbert is taking his talents to the 69th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards! This marks the first time the late-night talk show host will emcee the Emmys, which airs live from Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 17. In Monday's press release, CBS Entertainment executive vice president Jack Sussman shared in part, "Stephen is the ultimate master of ceremonies with award-winning creative talents, and as we've seen the past few months, he has a fearless passion for live television. We look forward to honoring television's best while entertaining audiences with the creative energy and sharp comedy of Stephen Colbert." Colbert echoed the network's excitement (and confidence): "This will be the largest audience to witness an Emmys, period. Both in person and around the globe." The Late Show With Stephen Colbert host follows in Jimmy Kimmel's footsteps, who hosted for ABC 2016, Andy Samberg, who hosted for Fox in 2015, and Seth Meyers, who hosted for NBC in 2014. The 2017 Emmys sticks to a recent trend within the award show scene in which the men of late night television continue booking the coveted gigs. Kimmel is set to host the 2017 Oscars, while James Corden was fitting placed at the helm of the 2017 Grammys. Jimmy Fallon also kicked off this year's award season by hosting the 2017 Golden Globes. As for Colbert, he most recently hosted the 2016 Kennedy Honors in Washington D.C. Nominations for the 69th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be announced July 13. Are you looking forward to Colbert taking on the 2017 Emmys? (Eonline)
Arrested Development Season 5, Now With More Flashbacks? The Bluths are coming back -- again -- in a whole new way. According to TVLine, the upcoming fifth season of the series will be part prequel, featuring new actors playing younger versions of the characters. The show originally ran on Fox for three seasons, from 2003 to 2006, and then returned for a fourth season on Netflix in 2013. The revival debuted to mixed reviews, with many fans not enjoying the fact that most episodes centered around one character, and the family was not often together due to scheduling conflicts among its now famous cast. The prequel aspect may help solve that problem in the new season, and TVLine also reports that according to a source, the new season will also be able to feature more family scenes featuring multiple members of the original cast. At CinemaCon last year, star Will Arnett told E! News that while nothing was final, the cast was definitely interested in continuing the show. "It is something that everybody wants to do in theory, but you know how theories are," he told Marc Malkin. He confirmed that creator Mitch Hurwitz had already "written some stuff," and that "all the cast wants to get together and do it." During this year's Television Critics' Association press tour, executive producer Brian Grazer told reporters that they were a couple of weeks away from nailing deals down with the cast, citing the actors' busy schedules as the reason this has taken so long. Back in 2015, Grazer had said that the fifth season would be 17 episodes, but that was also when he was saying we'd be getting more of the Bluths in the summer of 2016, so who knows? Whenever it happens, we'll be here, waiting patiently. Netflix has not yet returned a request for comment. Arrested Development season five will reportedly go into production in June. (Eonline)

(PageSix)

It's really thrilling." Timberlake shares his nomination with Karl Johan Schuster and Max Martin, the pop mastermind who was nominated for the original song Oscar last year for co-writing the Weeknd's "Earned It" from "Fifty Shades of Grey." Other nominees last year featured well-known acts like this year's group, including Lady Gaga and Sam Smith, who won the Oscar for "Writing's on the Wall" from "Spectre." Carlos Vives is featuring a very special lady in his new music video, Miss Universe finalist Ariadna Gutierrez.

(Eonline)
