GO AWAY YOU BOTHER ME
Whether it's as inane as writing e-mails in ALL CAPS or as rude as hogging the overhead bins on an airline, there are quite a few things that other people do that bother the heck out of us. Harris Poll surveyed 2,234 U.S. adults nationwide and found out the things that bother us the most and how many are annoyed:
Air travel
- Misuse of overhead bins on airlines: 65 percent
- Airline travelers who recline their seats in coach: 35 percent
Driving
- Tailgaters: 53 percent
- Slow drivers who stay in the passing lane: 47 percent
Mobile phones
- Using mobile phones in public places: 65 percent
- Checking a mobile phone while having a face-to-face conversation with someone else: 35 percent
E-mail
- Writing emails in all capital letters: 60 percent
- Being too brief or terse in an email: 40 percent
- Hitting "reply all" to emails: 51 percent
- Not replying to an email: 49 percent
Social media
- Excessively complaining on social media: 55 percent
- Excessive braggers: 45 percent
Parenting
- Parents who let their children run wild or be disruptive in public: 86 percent
- Annoyed by unsolicited parenting advice: 14 percent
Grammar
- Misuse of common words: 57 percent
- Unsolicited correction of one's grammar: 43 percent
Tardiness
- Being chronically late: 80 percent
- Being intolerant of those who are even slightly late: 20 percent
Noise
- Loud talkers: 71 percent
- Close talkers: 29 percent
Manners
- People who are openly rude: 85 percent
- Passive aggressive people: 15 percent
The Weather
- People who complain about the heat: 57 percent
- People who complain about the cold: 43 percent
