Public invited to unveiling of artwork concepts for Interstate 17 interchanges at Happy Valley and Pinnacle Peak roads

Meeting scheduled March 22 at Beuf Community Center in North Phoenix

As plans to reconstruct two busy traffic interchanges in north Phoenix move forward, the Arizona Department of Transportation and the city of Phoenix are hosting a public meeting to preview the aesthetics and landscaping concepts for the I-17 traffic interchanges at Happy Valley and Pinnacle Peak roads.

The public meeting is scheduled as follows:

Date: Thursday, March 22, 2018

Time: 6 to 7:30 p.m. Open-house format with a formal presentation at 6:00 p.m.

Location: Goelet A. Beuf Community Center, 3435 W. Pinnacle Peak Road, Phoenix

During the presentation at 6 p.m., the ADOT Roadside Specialist team will present landscaping concepts planned for the I-17 traffic interchanges at Happy Valley and Pinnacle Peak roads. Artists selected by the city of Phoenix will present aesthetics concepts integrated into the I-17 traffic interchange at Happy Valley Road. Members of the public are encouraged to attend, ask questions and experience the art and landscape concepts. Members of the ADOT design and construction team will also be at the meeting to answer questions about the interchange reconstruction project, scheduled to begin this fall. ADOT is rebuilding the interchanges at Happy Valley and Pinnacle Peak roads with the goals of easing congestion and improving traffic flow.
