Restrictions continue on State Route 77 – but they’re shorter – between Globe and Winkelman

No work scheduled over Memorial Day weekend

Seven miles of SR 77 between Globe and Winkelman remains narrowed to one lane Mondays through Fridays as workers complete a project to reduce the risk of rocks tumbling onto the highway; however the length of daily roadway restrictions has been cut back by two hours.

Flaggers and a pilot vehicle are guiding motorists through the work zone on SR 77 between mileposts 154 and 161 from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Drivers should plan for delays of up to 20 minutes. Work is scheduled to wrap up in early June. No work is scheduled over the Memorial Day weekend from Friday, May 26, through Monday, May 29.

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to allow extra travel time and proceed through the work zone with caution.

Schedules are subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen factors. For more information, please call the ADOT Project Information Line at 855.712.8530 or email Projects@azdot.gov. For real-time highway conditions statewide, visit ADOT’s Traveler Information Site at www.az511.gov, follow ADOT on Twitter (@ArizonaDOT) or call 511, except while driving.
