Final striping scheduled on Esperanza Boulevard in Green Valley next week

The Arizona Department of Transportation will apply permanent striping to a newly improved section of Esperanza Boulevard in the community of Green Valley south of Tucson next week.

Roadway striping operations are scheduled daily on Esperanza Boulevard between Abrego and La CaƱada drives from Wednesday (Feb. 24) through Friday (Feb. 26) between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Flaggers will direct traffic through the work area each day.

The addition of permanent striping will complete the project, but Pima County will install new signs in the project area.

The $262,000 project constructed multi-use lanes on Esperanza Boulevard to accommodate bicycles, upgraded sidewalks to meet requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act on both sides of the street and replace existing roadway signs.

The federally funded project was made possible by a grant to Pima County and is being administered by ADOT.

ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule. To stay up-to-date with the latest highway conditions around the state, visit the ADOT Traveler Information Center atwww.az511.gov or call 511.
