On this date in 1803, Congress voted to accept Ohio's borders and constitution. I have no idea what rent the borders were paying. It was a good call, because the borders usually got their rent in on time.

In 1881, Kansas became the first state to ban all alcoholic beverages.

• Suddenly, happy hours weren't very happy.
• The vote took place during a very-rare, all-state hangover.
• It's why I don't vacation there.
• You can see why the Wizard of Oz wanted out.
• As long as the ban didn't include Scotch, beer and wine, I'd be OK with that.

On this date in 1925, President Coolidge proposed phasing out inheritance tax. The idea was greeted by huge cheers, especially from his descendants!

• I'm not sure if that meant they wouldn't allow the theory to be taught in schools or, if everyone in the state had to stop evolving.

On this date in 1969, the Boeing 747 was flown for the first time. That was back before they started smoking.

In 1982, John Delorean's car company went bankrupt. If there was only a way that Marty and the Doc could go back in time and prevent that.
