SR 86 work west of Tucson

SR 86 work west of Tucson

State Route 86 west of Tucson (mileposts 124-125) will be narrowed to one lane Monday (Feb. 29) from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for shoulder work.

Message boards and crews will guide drivers through the work zone. Drivers should expect up to 15-minute delays.

The work is part of the SR 86 road widening project, located in the Tohono O’odham Nation, just east of Fresnal in Pima County (mileposts 124-129). The $7.8 million improvement project is expected to be completed by December 2016.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned roadway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.

Drivers are reminded to share the road, be cautious, and slow down while traveling through the work zone.

For more information about this project, please call CT Revere at 520-705-3574, or emailcrevere@azdot.gov.
