I-19 work in Tumacacori south of Tucson will resume March 1
The Interstate 19 on- and off-ramps at Tumacacori Road (Exit 29) will be closed daily beginning Tuesday(March 1) through Thursday (March 3) from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. for paving operations.
- Tumacacori Road, underneath I-19, will be closed.
- Drivers may use the Palo Parado Road (Exit 25) or Tubac Road (Exit 34).
Northbound I-19 (mileposts 16-21/kilometers 25-34) will be narrowed to one lane around the clock from beginning 5 a.m. Thursday (March 3) through 5 p.m. Friday (March 4).
- The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph.
Southbound I-19 (milepost 21-16/kilometers 34-25) will be narrowed to one lane around the clock from beginning 5 a.m. Friday (March 4) through 5 p.m. Saturday (March 5).
- The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph.
The work is part of the I-19, Palo Parado Road to Tubac Road pavement and bridge improvement project. The $4.1 million improvement project is expected to be completed by spring 2016.
ADOT works to inform the public about planned roadway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
