Brie Larson Is Engaged! Oscar Winner Set to Wed Musician Alex Greenwald. Wedding bells are ringing for Brie Larson. The Oscar-winning actress is engaged to her longtime boyfriend, musician Alex Greenwald, her rep confirms to E! News. The Room actress said "Yes!" to her 36-year-old beau during a March trip to Tokyo. The 26-year-old star first acknowledged the Phantom Planet frontman publicly in 2013 during her acceptance speech at the Gotham Independent Film Awards. "I'd like to thank my boyfriend, Alex Greenwald, for making me pasta and taking care of our puppy while I made this movie," she said in appreciation. Three years later, she used the L-word. "My wonderful boyfriend, Alex -- I love you so much," she said to him in the audience of the 2016 SAG Awards. The moment came full circle less than a month later at the 2016 Academy Awards, where Larson called him her "real partner" after thanking her on-screen Room sidekick, Jacob Tremblay. "I love you the whole thing," she gushed about her man at the podium. It also looks like Larson has already unveiled her engagement sparkler to the world. Saturday night, she took the SNL stage as a first-time host, sporting a diamond ring on her left hand. With her first Oscar, SAG Award and Golden Globe wins and now an engagement, 2016 is certainly shaping up to be Larson's best year yet. We just have one question: will Tremblay be the pair's ring bearer? We'll just have to wait and see. Congratulations to the happy couple! (Eonline)

Here comes the bride, all dressed in a white crop top! Morgan Stewart and Brendan Fitzpatrick married on Saturday, May 7, in Santa Susana, California, with the bride in quite the fashion-forward ensemble. Stewart, 27, donned a long-sleeve lace crop top, teamed with a sweeping mermaid skirt, both by Badgley Mischka. With her hair in an updo, the Rich Kids of Beverly Hills star added a sheer veil, and carried a bouquet of white flowers in hand. After the ceremony, the first dance and a bit of celebrating, Stewart made a quick change: She ditched the bridal skirt for a shimmering, extra short mini. All the while, her now-husband (and RKOBH costar) modeled a blue Tom Ford tuxedo with a shawl collar, finished with a black bow tie and patent shoes. The day after the wedding, Stewart took to Instagram to share a formal portrait of the pair and a heartfelt message. "#fitzperfectly in a two piece moment!" she wrote. "We had the best night of our lives and are so thankful to all of our friends and family and to all of YOU for showing us much love. We are painfully hungover and I'm about to order a serious burger! ????" (US Weekly)
Nick Jonas Reveals He's "Single" but That Doesn't Stop Him From Talking About Kate Hudson. Nick Jonas and Kate Hudson have been spotted out and about several times over the past year, but it wasn't always clear whether they were just friends or maybe something more. Hudson was previously engaged to Matt Bellamy while the former Jonas Brothers crooner dated Olivia Culpo for a couple of years. Since then, they've both been subject of many romance rumors, but Jonas finally sets the record straight on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Monday when the host asks him flat out if he's single or not. "You're really single right now," host Ellen DeGeneres states after discussing his solo Met Gala appearance. "I really am," Jonas confirms. "Yeah I am." But the Finding Dory star wasn't going to stop there! In a not-so-subtle transition, Degeneres jokingly asks, "So how's Kate Hudson doing? She's good?" "She's great," Jonas responds, holding back an ear-to-ear grin and a chuckle. "We had a group dinner the night before the Met Gala. Lots of people and she was there and I was there." Trying to really convince the afternoon talk show host that he and the Mother's Day actress have a platonic relationship, Jonas adds, "It was a group." DeGeneres, however, didn't really believe him. "Uh-huh," she says. "Whatever." The "Jealous" crooner also opens up about his tour with Demi Lovato and their decision to cancel their tour stop in North Carolina. "It's an incredibly frustrating situation overall. We are very aware of our strong LGBT community fanbase and the support they've given us and the support we want to give them," he shares, adding, "and this was a time where I feel like we said we have to make a bold statement, put our foot down and stand firm in something we believe in. He continues, "It's unfortunate for the fans there and for us because we want to go play as many shows as possible. But in our minds it's the right thing to do, and hopefully our fans will stand united with us." (Eonline)
Selena Gomez Only Dates If She Knows She's "Going to Have Fun." Selena Gomez's personal life has always made headlines, but she's done with that. The Revival songstress appears on the cover of Marie Claire's June issue, and she gets candid about the romance that may or may not be going on behind the scenes. She and Justin Bieber aren't together these days, but that doesn't mean she's ruled out anybody. "I've been dating," she shares. "I've been having the best time." Although she's been having fun living the single life, she remains skeptical about people's motives. As a result, she has trouble putting herself out there. "I don't trust anybody," she confesses, adding, "So dating can only be fun if I know I'm going to have fun." Taking control of her career, Selena says she's determined to change the narrative. In addition to making the decisions regarding her albums and tour, Selena also tries to steer interviewers away from her personal life, which has been a struggle. "I would try to promote something that I loved, and the entire interview would be about my personal life," she admits. "I would leave a room feeling defeated, feeling embarrassed, but I would always make sure to put that smile on my face because I wasn't going to let them get to me." Selena has officially kicked off her Revival World Tour, and she wants her fans to know that the person they see on stage is who she really is -- not just some brand. "Authenticity is my life," she shares before explaining how she keeps managers and agents in their place. "They make great choices, but I make the decisions." You go girl! She does admit, however, that it wasn't always easy. "I had to not be afraid to ask dumb questions, which means I asked a million things about every single step that I was making." The "Hands to Myself" singer adds, "I wanted to do things that I knew were going to be me. I don't want people to look at me as someone who is just this celebrity person." (Eonline)
Ariel Winter Thanks Her Sister for Being the "Most Amazing Mother I've Ever Known." Ariel Winter is expressing gratitude to her older sister this Mother's Day weekend. As the Modern Family star remains estranged from her mom -- they haven't spoken in more than three years -- the actress gave thanks to Shanelle Gray who has served as a mother figure for many years. "#HappyMothersDay to this insanely beautiful woman inside and out, my sister, my best friend. I love you so much. You are the most amazing mother I've ever known and we are all so grateful for you!" Ariel wrote on Instagram Sunday evening. "Although I'm now 18 and mommy role is over, I will always have a special place in my heart for those years you raised me as your own." Ariel continued, "So this day is your day, because you deserve the world! I always feel so lucky that I have such an amazing role model. I hope one day I can be as wonderful as you. I love you more than anything and am so grateful to have you. Thank you for being the most amazing person on this planet and for being my everything." For those who haven't followed Ariel's family history, the 18-year-old has faced several years of legal battles in order to become emancipated from her mother. The courts ultimately granted her request in May of 2015. Since then, the actress was accepted into colleges, enjoyed high school prom with her boyfriend and has experienced major life events without her mother around. Ultimately, Ariel is grateful for the life she is living today. And yes, she's learned some lessons along the way. "Don't take anything for granted, for sure, because I have an amazing life now, but I know what it's like to not. So I definitely am grateful for everything I have. Everyone I have. Everything I have," Ariel recently shared on Good Morning America. "And to always -- not in a selfish way -- but always put yourself first. I think it's really hard a lot when you're in certain situations to be able to do that, but I think it's really important to love yourself and be there for yourself first before you do anything else." Jewel and Ty Murray made an amicable split seem easy when they announced their divorce-but the singer insists it came with its challenges. "It's work. I don't want people to think it's effortless-it's work to do this because you obviously don't get a divorce because things are going well," the 41-year-old star says in the new issue of PEOPLE. "But it's letting those things live in the past." The singer-songwriter and rodeo cowboy, 46, announced their split in 2014 and have since worked hard to maintain a positive rapport for their 41/2-year-old son Kase. For Jewel-who's on the road for her Picking Up the Pieces tour through May-that meant "realizing you're in a relationship forever, so learning to treat one another with respect and dignity and just doing the right thing for Kase." Last fall, the star released her memoir, Never Broken, and the experience inspired her to evaluate her life-and how she would lead by example for her son. "Going through a divorce really caused me to say, 'What kind of woman am I? What kind of woman do I want my son to know?'" says Jewel. "I wanted him, as he goes through his life, to have permission to redraw himself as many times as he needs. We have many chapters in our life, and we actually get to rewrite them." As for what kind of woman Jewel is today? She's still a devoted mom- and is taking another chance at romance. As the singer tells PEOPLE, she's been dating Indianapolis Colts quarterback Charlie Whitehurst for "almost a year." (People)

The club can't even handle this right now! A newly engaged Brody Jenner quietly slammed former stepbrother Rob Kardashian and pregnant Blac Chyna after they canceled two club appearances this past weekend. Both Kardashian, 29, and his pregnant future wife, 27, failed to show up at two separate prescheduled club appearances, including a commitment at Ohm in Hollywood on Friday, May 6, and another at the Pool After Dark at Harrah's in Atlantic City the following night. The Instagram account of the Pool After Dark announced on Saturday that the engaged pair had backed out minutes before the party was scheduled to begin. "Uh Oh a ChyRo No Show!" the club wrote on its account in a now-deleted post. Former Hills hunk Brody, who scrolled past the update, decided to chime in on the situation. "That's what you guys get for hiring those 2," he sniped in a now-deleted comment. "Sorry not sorry." (Caitlyn Jenner and Linda Thompson's second son frequently deejays at the Atlantic City nightlife destination, and last appeared at the Pool After Dark on April 23.) Despite the gaffe, Chyna apologized to fans and wrote that she wasn't feeling well. "Sorry LA & Atlantic City," the makeup artist wrote. THE OTHER STUFF . . .
First Lady Michelle Obama Helps Prince Harry Launch the 2016 Invictus Games: "He Is Truly Our Prince Charming." Orlando is typically the home of Disney's most magical creations, but Sunday night, it was the site of a far more royal event. Prince Harry launched the 2016 Invictus Games Sunday night at Disney World's ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Started in March 2014, this year marks the second since the royal created the multi-sport event in honor of wounded, injured or sick veteran participants across the globe. In addition to Harry's involvement, former President George W. Bush serves as this year's Honorary Chair with his wife, former First Lady Laura Bush, also in attendance. Oscar winner Morgan Freeman is also involved in the event this year, serving as an Invictus Games Ambassador. However, the British hunk could not kick off the international competition in America without enlisting the help of the White House's fitness champion, First Lady Michelle Obama. "I, of course, want to start by thanking Prince Harry for his outstanding leadership and for bringing the Invictus Games here to Orlando," Obama said in her introductory remarks to the immense crowd. "He is truly our Prince Charming, isn't he? And he should be proud of himself for this work." That's precisely how the 31-year-old felt Sunday evening surrounded by thousands. "I cannot tell you how proud and excited I am to open the second Invictus games here in the America," he said aloud to the crowd. "I'm a long way from London tonight. But when I look out and I see so many familiar faces, servicemen and women, their friends and their families and all the people who have got them here - I feel like I'm at home." Having been deployed to Afghanistan twice himself as a 10-year member of the British Army, Prince Harry witnessed the toll of war on his fellow servicemen firsthand. "I served alongside soldiers from all over the world. I saw the sacrifices you and your families made to serve your nations. I learned about the importance of teamwork and camaraderie in a way that only military service can teach you," he continued. "When I traveled back from the battlefield on a plane carrying the body of a Danish soldier and three young Brits, fighting for their lives, I began to understand the real, permanent cost of war." With his influence as a member of the royal family, Harry was compelled to continue serving his comrades off the battlefield. "What I learned through serving was that the extraordinary privileges of being a Prince gave me an extraordinary opportunity to help my military family," he declared. "That's why I had to create the Invictus Games -- to build a platform for all those who have served to prove to the world what they have to offer." "You will see people who by rights should have died on the battlefield -- but instead they are going for gold on the track or in the pool," he revealed. "You will be inspired, you will be moved, and I promise you will be entertained." Being back at Disney World for this momentous occasion is a full-circle moment for the royal, who visited the amusement parks as a child with his late mother, Princess Diana. "It was happy memories, you know, and it's a huge shame she's not here," he told Today's Jenna Bush Hager. "I hope she's incredibly proud of what we've managed to achieve." (Eonline)
Prince Harry Says It's a "Huge Shame" Princess Diana Isn't at Invictus Games. Prince Harry kicked off the Invictus Games Sunday, but there is a notable person missing from the important event: his mom, Princess Diana. The redheaded royal stat down with Today's Jenna Bush Hager in a pre-taped interview that aired Monday morning and opened up about the inspiration behind his multi-day sporting event and how he wishes his mother could be there. "That was very happy memories," Harry recalled of his first trip to Disney World with his mother more than 20 years ago. "It's a huge shame she's not here, but I hope she'd be incredibly proud of what we managed to achieve." Although he hasn't been able to turn to his mother in times of need, Harry said his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, has been an incredible role model even though she's in charge of a lot. "My grandmom's always been the boss, but my God she gives the most amazing advice," he explained to Hager. "She lets us cruise around doing what we think is right." Of course, both he and his brother, Prince William, have made mistakes along the way. "It's part of growing up," he said. "You've got to find your own path." And finding his own "path" is what led him to starting the Invictus Games, a competitive event that has wounded, injured or sick armed services personnel and veterans competing in different sports. Harry made it clear, however, that this event is more than just friendly competition. "This is not a sob story -- far from it. These guys don't want sympathy," he explained. "All they want is an opportunity to prove to themselves that despite my injuries, whether they be physical or mental, I'm still the same person." Competition aside, the most this British royal is looking for is for everyone to have a good time in Florida while maintaining an "electric atmosphere" and "full" seats. The latter certainly won't be a problem, as Harry has nailed some pretty A-list names for his event. First Lady Michelle Obama, former President George W. Bush and Morgan Freeman all played a role at the opening ceremony. "I, of course, want to start by thanking Prince Harry for his outstanding leadership and for bringing the Invictus Games here to Orlando," Obama said in her introductory remarks to the immense crowd. "He is truly our Prince Charming, isn't he? And he should be proud of himself for this work." (Eonline)
Johnny Depp Makes Fun of His and Amber Heard's Dog Apology Video: "I'm Going to Do This Everywhere I Go." When Johnny Depp and Amber Heard apologized on video for bringing their beloved dogs into Australia, the clip instantly went viral for how awkward it was. Only a few weeks after his act of atonement spread across the Interwebs, Depp made it clear how he really felt about recording it. While promoting his latest movie, Alice Through the Looking Glass, Depp poked fun at his and his wife's video. "I'm going to do this everywhere I go," Depp told a room full of reporters Monday. "I would really like to apologize for not smuggling my dogs into England because it would have been a bad thing to do," he said, causing the room to erupt with laughter. "Because the Australians, they're chipper." He added in his slow drawl, "I tried to kill them after Australia." Heard avoided a possible 10-year prison sentence and a fine of nearly $100,000 in April after pleading guilty to providing a false immigration document when she entered Australia last year with her pet Yorkshire terriers, Pistol and Boo. The yearlong saga was dubbed Australia's "War on Terrier." The Danish Girl actress was instead required to issue an apology, which Magistrate Callaghan claimed would help the Australian Department of Agriculture "get more deterrence value." Sitting in an undisclosed office setting, Heard looked directly into the camera and said, "Australia is a wonderful island, with a treasure trove of unique plants, animals and people." A stone-faced Depp added, "It has to be protected." "Australia is free of many pests and diseases that are commonplace around the world," Heard said. "That is why Australia has to have such strong biosecurity laws." Depp continued, "Australians are just as unique, both warm and direct. When you disrespect Australia law, they will tell you firmly." "I am truly sorry that Pistol and Boo were not declared," Heard reiterated. "Protecting Australia is important." Depp ended the PSA by reminding people to "declare everything when you enter Australia. Thanks." (Eonline)
April Sandmeyer -- former fiancee to Anderson Cooper's estranged half-brother Christopher Stokowski -- wants to help them reunite after watching a promo for "Nothing Left Unsaid," Cooper's HBO documentary on their mom, Gloria Vanderbilt. Stokowski stopped speaking to his family years ago after Vanderbilt's therapist allegedly negatively influenced his relationship with Sandmeyer. "I feel very sad about the situation, especially after I heard in the promo Anderson saying he feels his mother is the only one he has left in his family," she told Page Six. "I've always known there's a lot money can't buy, and that just confirmed that for me. "I want to help by talking to Chris and seeing if I can get him to reconcile with his mother and the rest of the family. I think there is hope." (Page Six)

Reedus called her onto the stage and replied, "Because I had a cool mom." Another fan got laughs by asking, "Who would win in a riot: your fans or Trump's?" (Page Six)
Turns out Paisley Park isn't the only Prince real estate that could be hitting the market. Back in 2010, Prince purchased a 10,000 square foot fortress on the island of Providenciales in Turks and Caicos. Asking price ... $12 million! The 10 bedroom and 10 bathroom mansion comes with a tennis court, 200 foot boat dock and its own private white sand beach. Robert Greenwood of Christie's International Real Estate tells us Prince had not fully moved in -- it's sparsely furnished. There's actually a few items in the house from the "Purple Rain" movie, including a mirror and a few chairs. BTW ... the first thing Prince did when he bought the place ... painted the driveway purple! (TMZ)
Lamar Odom swore to Khloe Kardashian he would not drink or do drugs after he nearly died from an OD last year ... but repeatedly he did not and probably could not keep his word. Lamar was at the Beverly Center Sunday afternoon. As his friend shopped for shoes, Lamar retreated to a bar inside the mall, and went for the Cognac. He schmoozed it up with a few women, dropped $60 cash and beat a hasty retreat. TMZ Sports broke the story, on Easter Sunday Lamar hit up a bar hours before going to church with the Kardashians and ordered 3 Remy Martins. Khloe almost immediately threw in the towel. (TMZ)

When a new music video for Jennifer Lopez's hit "Ain't Your Mama" ran low on cash due to J.Lo's "grand" plans, her team had to scramble to broker a last-minute deal to raise more money. We're told that a "product-placement specialist" was called in two days before production began on the clip because there were concerns the video -- which premiered Friday -- couldn't be completed to the singer's usual high standards without an injection of extra funds. J.Lo's label honchos put together an ambitious shoot in just two weeks to capitalize on the song's early chart success after Lopez debuted it on the final episode of "American Idol" on April 7. Insiders told Page Six that the Kluger Agency, which arranges deals between brands and artists, got a call at the eleventh hour. To attract additional funding, the team hustled to bring in -- social-networking app Friendable, then reworked the shoot's script to integrate the product into the storyline. "Most of these big artists want a really nice visual, and nice is pretty much synonymous with expensive when it comes to product," said a source. "So a lot of times Jennifer will have this grand idea of what she wants to do, and the label has their budget, and at the end of it, she'll be short." We're told producers were keen to find something that would fit into the video since it was already packed with more traditional product placements. In fact, there were so many shoehorned into its five minutes that music site Spin cataloged nine brands in the clip -- from Lavazza coffee to -- BodyLab weight-loss supplements. The "plot" -- about women rebelling against outdated domestic roles -- culminates with an all-female protest scene in the streets. In the revised version, the lady rabble-rousers use the app to converge. We're told that, in return, Friendable coughed up the dough to finish off the project with the kind of polish befitting an international superstar. A rep for Lopez declined to comment. (Page Six)
Lauryn Hill says she will "make it up" to fans angry that she arrived over two hours late to an Atlanta concert Friday night and performed for fewer than 40 minutes. Hill wrote on her Facebook page Sunday that she doesn't show up to shows late because she doesn't care, but because of the artistic process. The challenge, she said, is aligning her energy with the time. The concert was held at Atlanta's Chastain Park Amphitheatre, which has an 11 p.m. noise curfew. Many in attendance expressed their outrage about the situation on social media. In the note, Hill said that she will announce details of how she will make it up as she has them. Hill's rep did not immediately respond to request for comment. (Page Six)
Kesha got high praise from Lady Gaga after covering "Til It Happens To You" Saturday night in L.A. at the Humane Society of the United States gala. Gaga wrote the ballad for the campus rape documentary, "The Hunting Ground," and then sang it at the Oscars in February with sexual abuse victims onstage. At the time, Kesha commented how moved she was by Gaga's performance. Making a not-so-subtle reference to her legal battle with Dr. Luke ... Kesha dedicated Saturday's cover to "every man, woman, child and animal that has ever been abused." (TMZ)
Mike Posner Takes 'Pill in Ibiza' to No. 1 on Pop Songs Chart. The singer/songwriter scores his first leader as an artist on the top 40 radio airplay tally. Mike Posner notches his first No. 1 as an artist on Billboard's Pop Songs radio airplay chart (dated May 21), as "I Took a Pill in Ibiza" rises 2-1. Posner previously reached a high of No. 3 on Pop Songs with his debut hit "Cooler Than Me" in 2010. He followed with the No. 9-peaking "Please Don't Go" later that year. Not that he had been absent from the chart's top tier, or crowning spot, since: he co-wrote Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend," which reached No. 9 on Pop Songs in 2012, and Maroon 5's "Sugar," which reigned for two weeks beginning April 18, 2015. "Pill" is from Posner's EP The Truth, which has peaked at No. 32 on the Billboard 200, as well from his full-length At Night, Alone., released Friday (May 6). The song was first released nearly a year ago but has become a hit thanks, in large part, to its Seeb remix. "It's just about being honest," Posner told Billboard last year of his songwriting. "I listen to a lot of stuff that's out there, some of which I wrote, and I'm like, 'Where's the honesty?' So, that's what I want to get to in my music now." (How honest is his writing? He actually did take a pill in Ibiza. Read the details here.) Meanwhile, two tracks debut on Pop Songs this week, led by Justin Timberlake's Trolls soundtrack single "Can't Stop the Feeling!," at No. 24, following its release Friday. It also starts at a personal-best No. 19 on Adult Pop Songs. Plus, Selena Gomez's "Kill Em With Kindness" enters Pop Songs at No. 37. It's her follow-up to the first three singles, and her first three Pop Songs No. 1s, from her album Revival: "Good for You" (featuring A$AP Rocky), "Same Old Love" and "Hands to Myself." All charts will update May 10 on Billboard.com. (Billboard)
Radiohead Producer Nigel Godrich Says 'Moon' Sessions Were 'Very Intense' For Him. Radiohead's long-time producer Nigel Godrich revealed on Sunday that the sessions for the group's just-released ninth album, A Moon Shaped Pool were "a very intense experience" for him because his father died during recording. The 11-track album was made available on iTunes, Tidal and the group's website on Sunday, but at present it is not on Spotify, though the first two singles, "Burn the Witch," and "Daydreaming," are. The sessions were difficult for Godrich, but he said the struggle was a good thing and he thanked his "brothers" in Radiohead for helping him get through it. He also shared some behind-the-scenes pictures from the sessions for the band's ninth album, their first since 2011's The King of Limbs. On Friday, Radiohead released the cinematic video for "Daydreaming," which was directed by the acclaimed Paul Thomas Anderson (Boogie Nights, Inherent Vice), who sent 35mm copies of the clip to a number of movie theaters across the U.S. (Billboard)

Tom Hanks is back as Robert Langdon in the latest Dan Brown adaptation, Inferno, and director Ron Howard tells PEOPLE that this is a performance that is not to be missed. "This time is more personal to him for various reasons I don't necessarily want to reveal but there's a level of uncertainty that offsets his genius level of problem solving skills in some ways and creates great drama," Howard tells PEOPLE. The teaser trailer for the film was released on Monday, enticing fans of the first two Brown-based films-The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons. "It's another of the great Dan Brown button pushing ideas that are provocative, they're explosive and they create these conflicts between characters who actually represent multiple sides of the issues," Howard says. "There's a majority and an edge to this one that is very exciting to me." The cast, which also includes Felicity Jones and Ben Foster, shot the project in Italy-adding to the excitement of making the film, Howard says. "Making these Dan Brown movies are amazing life experiences," he notes. "You're thrown into these environments in ways that are really stirring and kind of explosive." He adds, "The other thing about this movie that was exciting for me as a director is the Dante connection- the question of Hell and what is it? And what was it for Dante? What could it be for us today? What could society be facing? That provided me as a director a palette of imagery and possibilities, which was fun to play with and apply to this movie." When they weren't filming, Howard says Hanks was doing another form of acting-putting on his best poker face. "Tom never lets up," Howard jokes. "It's the performance of a lifetime. The greatest thing in the world is when the deck goes to him and he's the dealer because then the Tom Hanks rap begins and it never lets up for the entire hand." But Howard says the stakes are "pathetically low" and only dimes and nickels are collected at the end. Low-stakes poker games or not, Howard says he looks forward to time off set with Hanks. "He's a tremendous artist, one of the most intelligent people in the business and he's a world class hang," he says. "So anytime we get to go out on one of these adventures and spend some time together, it's something I always look forward to." Inferno is slated to hit theaters Oct. 28. (People)
Lee Daniels is out as director of the Richard Pryor biopic, Page Six has exclusively confirmed. The "Empire" co-creator had been set to start shooting "Richard Pryor: Is It Something I Said?" in May. The film had been in the works for years, but when Daniels took over, it finally gained momentum. But he exited the project late last week. A source told us that despite rumors of creative differences with the Weinstein Co., Daniels' departure is because he's busy with "Star," his new show for Fox. A source told us, "The Richard Pryor project is ready to go, and they don't want to wait anymore. Lee is consumed with his work for Fox. It was an amicable parting." (Page Six)
Revolution Studios Acquires Stake in Latino Everywhere. It is also licensing Spanish-dubbed versions of titles from its film library for use in the digital entertainment company's Pongalo platform. Revolution Studios has acquired a stake in digital entertainment company Latino Everywhere and has licensed Spanish-dubbed versions of titles from its 120-film library for distribution through its global OTT platform, Pongalo. Financial details and the size of the stake weren't disclosed. The films involved include such titles as xXx, Maid in Manhattan and Black Hawk Down. Latin Everywhere's library includes more than 50,000 hours of film and TV content, including such award-winning telenovelas as Juana la Virgen, on which U.S. television series Jane the Virgin is based. Latin Everywhere will use Revolution's investment to expand its currently-free Pongalo OTT service by adding a subscription offering that will include premium content from Pongalo, as well as films from the Revolution library. "In our continued effort to seek innovative revenue opportunities for the expanding Revolution library, we are acutely aware of the importance of tapping into the world's vast, tech-savvy Latino audiences," Revolution CEO Vince Totino said. "Based on the value and enormous growth potential we see in the Pongalo platform's ability to reach these audiences, we have decided to make a strategic investment in Latin Everywhere." "In addition to being the fastest-growing demographic group in the U.S., Latinos are also the biggest consumers of online entertainment and the most avid smartphone users," Revolution COO Scott Hemming added. "We are extremely excited to be a part of a company devoted to bringing Latinos here and around the world a wide range of Internet and mobile entertainment content, including beloved films from the Revolution library." "We are thrilled Revolution has decided to invest financially in Latin Everywhere and license to us its library of award-winning and commercially successful feature films," said Latin Everywhere chairman Rich Hull and CEO Jorge Granier. "The inclusion of these popular titles will add tremendous value to the content we offer our users as we add a subscription component to Pongalo's OTT platform." Pongalo began as a single YouTube channel. Its film and TV network targeting Latinos on YouTube surpassed 2 billion views last year, predominantly from mobile devices. Pongalo's OTT platform, launched in beta last year as a free service, utilizes proprietary technology acquired from InMoo. Revolution Studios, originally established by Joe Roth in 2000, was acquired in June 2014 by funds managed by affiliates of Fortress Investment Group. (Hollywood Reporter)
Cannes: Richard Gere to Star in Jon Avnet's 'Three Christs'. The film centers on a doctor treating three paranoid schizophrenic patients who all believe they are Jesus Christ. Call it a holy trinity of sorts. Richard Gere is set to star in Jon Avnet's Three Christs, playing a doctor treating three paranoid schizophrenic patients who all believe they are Jesus Christ. Three Christs, a potentially hot-button film, marks Gere and Avnet's second collaboration. The first was MGM's controversial Red Corner in 1997, a film that led to Chinese star Bai Ling having her Chinese citizenship revoked. Based on a biographical novel by Milton Rokeach titled Rokeach's Christs of Ypsilanti: A Narrative Study of Three Lost Men, the film was adapted by Eric Nazarian and Avnet. Highland Film Group is financing and will unveil the project to international buyers at the Cannes market. CAA is repping domestic rights. Avnet is producing alongside Brooklyn Films' Aaron Stern and Highland's Arianne Frasier and Delphine Perrier. Molly Hassell (Terminal) also is producing. The doctor treated the trio of patients at the Ypsilanti State Hospital in Michigan, and what transpired is both comic and deeply moving. Gere will next be seen in Oren Moverman's star-studded family drama The Dinner alongside Steve Coogan, Chloe Sevigny, Rebecca Hall and Laura Linney. Gere is repped by WME. Avnet is handled by CAA. Someone's in Trouble on Chrisley Knows Best, and It's Not Who You'd Expect. This is not the Savannah that Todd knows. When Chrisley Knows Best returns tomorrow night, Todd and Julie's youngest daughter is in for a rude awakening when she arrives home to find her whole family sitting in her living room. In the exclusive clip, Todd is pretty seriously unhappy with the state of his daughter's apartment. It's apparently a pig sty, and that is not how she was raised! Plus, she told him she was going to be home studying, and when they arrived, she wasn't home! What's next, piercings and tattoos? College seems to be turning Savannah into a rebel, and Todd is not having it. Of course, instead of having his sister's back, Chase just revels in the fact that for once, he's not the one in trouble. Todd's first thought is to bring his daughter right back home, but we'll have to watch to see if her time away is actually that short-lived. Chrisley Knows Best returns Tuesday night at 10 p.m. on USA, but if you can't wait quite that long, USA Network will be showing a marathon of the series all day, starting at 9 a.m. ET. (Eonline)
The Good Wife Bosses Explain the Series Finale Ending Slap and Betrayal. The Good Wife ended how it all began: with a slap. But this time, Alicia (Julianna Margulies) was getting the rude awakening. In the series finale of The Good Wife, Alicia stood by Peter one final time, but in the process squandered her relationship with Jason Crouse (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and betrayed her partner Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski). "We started with this feeling that it should begin with a slap and end with a slap. The show is about a woman who becomes more and more confident and more and more cunning and excited about her abilities and also about power. So that slap at the end is very similar to the slap at the beginning. We always had this idea of Alicia becoming more and more of something that she also was not liking in her husband," series co-creator Robert King said in the video. "We had talked about that the victim becomes the victimizer and that's really the circle that we see of Alicia," co-creator Michelle King said. The entire series has been about the education of Alicia Florrick and it's safe to say the character has changed over the last seven years. The slap woke her up to that. "You can see on her face... She is contemplating everything that came before. So the question of what is her next stage of her life, is she going to take that into account? I think that's also what we see with the ending," Robert said. "The story of Alicia is a bit of a tragedy, now that doesn't mean we love Alicia any less... but to be honest with the character, she was moving in the direction where there wasn't that much room between who she was and who her husband was." As for her relationships, the Kings said Alicia didn't knowingly betray Diane, she was "collateral damage" in her attempts to save herself and her family. The finale saw Alicia rectifying (or attempting to) her relationships with the three main men in her life: Peter Florrick (Chris Noth), Jason and Will Gardner (Josh Charles). The ambiguity of who she ends up with (nobody) was intentional. (Eonline)
The Good Wife Is Over and Cush Jumbo Has the Perfect Message to Fans. The Good Wife is over. Have you stopped crying long enough to read this story and watch the video? Take a minute, we'll be here. Now that the education of Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) is complete, there's something fans need to hear from Robert and Michelle King, the co-creators of The Good Wife. "Thank you for watching," Michelle said. "Thanks for watching and tell us what you think," Robert said. Oh, you don't have to tell The Good Wife fans that twice. The finale was a divisive one (let's talk about it here). The Kings released a video message to fans after the big ending (the slap heard around the world) and also penned a letter about the twists. "We wanted this series -- a series that stretched over 156 episodes -- to have some shape, some structural meaning. So after we realized we wouldn't be cancelled after 13 episodes, we started to devise a vanishing point we could write toward. That structure, in our minds, was simple. The show would start with a slap and end with a slap. Each slap would involve Alicia. This would be the bookend. She would slap someone who victimized her at the beginning of the series; and she would be slapped by someone she 'victimized' at the end," they wrote. "In this way, the victim would become the victimizer. This is the education of Alicia Florrick." At the heart, it's a tragic ending, but not necessarily an unhappy one. "There is hope in the ending too -- we believe. Alicia composes herself and marches toward the future. The two slaps to our mind are chapter endings and headings. If the slap that started the series woke Alicia up -- helped her overcome her naivety about her husband and the world's corruption -- then this second slap wakes her up to her own culpability," the Kings wrote. "The question is what will she do with that?" And now series star (and a big fan), Cush Jumbo, has a message for fans. "Don't be sad," Jumbo told E! News at the series final wrap party. "Don't cry. I think it's going to take us all a while to move on. Another show is never going to fill that hole... nothing's ever going to totally fill that hole, but I think they should sustain and fortify themselves with the idea that they were part of something that has affected many other shows and a lot of business in New York. They're part of something special." (Eonline)
Who Lived, Who Died, and Who Cried on Once Upon a Time? The following article contains spoilers for the Once Upon a Time episode, "Last Rites." Proceed with caution! "Regina, you are my future." It was at that moment, just before a passionate kiss was shared, that we knew for sure Robin Hood was not long for this world. You can't utter a phrase like that and expect to live much longer on a TV drama, and Robin sure did not live much longer. He died in the fight against Hades when he stood in front of Regina to save her from being stabbed by Hades' fancy magic crystal (which was kind of him to do, even though Regina had mistakenly believed she could trust Zelena with the baby). Regina was about to meet the same fate at the hands of Zelena, with Hades encouraging her, but instead, Zelena turned and stabbed Hades right back. Robin simply collapsed on the floor and then his soul floated up into the heavens, but Hades had to be typically hades and explode dramatically into a pile of dust. For a second, it seemed like those were not going to be the episode's only deaths. Right after Hades finally died (with help from pages Hook managed to add to the storybook), he had the chance to move on from the underworld. He met up with Zeus, who told him he was about to go where he was supposed to be, and he walked into the light while we prepared to walk off of a ledge (of feelings) if we had to go on without Hook in our life. Cut to Emma, sobbing over Killian's grave. In lieu of flowers, she placed a flask on top of the dirt, which was really just the last straw on our tear ducts. Emma then rejoined the rest of the funeral, which was actually for Robin. One by one, everyone placed arrows on his casket, and Zelena revealed that the only name she could think of for their daughter was Robin. Eventually, only Emma was left at the cemetery, and then poof! Hook appeared behind her, and they engaged in the cutest smattering of kisses and nonsensical explanations we've ever heard. Zeus awarded him for killing Hades with bringing him back to life, or whatever. It doesn't matter. All that matters is that he's finally alive, and Hades is dead, and things are OK-ish. Of course, things are not OK-ish for Regina, who has now lost the love of her life, and for Zelena, who lost the father of her child, and for the rest of the world, because now Rumple has part of that magic crystal and Rumple in possession of any magic is pretty much never ever good. Once Upon a Time's two-hour finale airs next Sunday at 7 p.m. on ABC. (Eonline)

TV Ratings: 'The Good Wife' Ends With Season High. The drama improves 20 percent in the key demo for its swan song. Three months after announcing the (mostly expected) end to The Good Wife, CBS officially said goodbye to broadcast's last remaining prestige drama on Sunday night. And, with several loose ends left to be tied up for fans of the Julianna Margulies starrer, the show did see a ratings lift. Fast National returns from Nielsen give the May 8 finale of The Good Wife a 1.2 rating among adults 18-49 and 10.5 million viewers. By same-day standards, that's nearly a 20 percent week-to-week rise in the key demo and marks a season high among total viewers. The Good Wife has never been that big of a player with the advertiser-friendly younger set, but it's consistently boasted a enviably large audience. Season-to-date, the final run has averaged a 1.6 rating among adults 18-49 and 10.7 million viewers in live-plus-seven day ratings. The Good Wife has also long had the bragging rights for having one of broadcast's most-upscale audiences -- falling into the top 10 TV shows in houses earning more than $200,000 a year.
