Work on SR 79 in Florence

 State Route 79, in Florence will have the following restrictions for maintenance and roadway improvement work beginning Wednesday (May 11). The work will occur as follows:

 Maintenance Work

• Southbound State Route 79 (mileposts 144) will be narrowed to one lane Wednesday (May 11) from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

• Northbound SR 79 (milepost 149) will be narrowed to one lane Wednesday (May 11) from 10 a.m. to noon.

• Crews will guide drivers through the work zone.

Roadway Improvement

• State Route 79 (mileposts 134-137) will have overnight lane closures from 9 p.m. Thursday (May 12) through 6 a.m.Friday (May 13).

• Work will start in the northbound lane and then move to the southbound lane.

• ADOT crews, traffic devices and message boards will direct traffic in both directions through the area when the two-lane highway is restricted to a single lane.

• Brief delays can be expected.

ADOT advises drivers to plan ahead to avoid the closure or allow extra travel time if traveling during the scheduled closure period.
