Lane restrictions rescheduled for Sept. 28-Sept. 29; delays possible

The project to add a passing lane and widen roadway shoulders on US 60 east of Superior and will require restrictions that will impact motorists traveling between the Phoenix metro region and Globe. The Arizona Department of Transportation suggests allowing extra travel time or considering an alternate route.
• US 60 just east of Superior will be reduced to one lane only for both directions of travel from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.Wednesday, Sept. 28 and Thursday, Sept. 29, between mileposts 231 and 233. Pilot cars will guide drivers through the work zone and delays are possible.
Alternate routes between Globe and Superior include state routes 77 and 177. Motorists traveling to the White Mountain region and northeastern Arizona can also use State Route 260 east of Payson.
Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction equipment and personnel.
ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but it’s possible that unscheduled closures or restrictions might occur because of weather or other factors. For the latest highway conditions around the state, visit the ADOT Traveler Information Center at www.az511.gov or call 511 (except while driving).
