Avenue 3E southbound to close on Wednesday, May 3, for paving Yuma drivers should plan alternate route

Southbound Avenue 3E will be closed from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, between Highway 95 and Interstate 8 while Arizona Department of Transportation crews pave the road as part of a nine-month improvement project.

Drivers should consider using Araby Road to the east or following Highway 95 west to connect with I-8 while work is underway.

On Highway 95, lane restrictions continue while paving work continues. One lane remains open in each direction between Avenue 3E and Araby Road. That work is expected to be complete in late May.

The work is part of a $3.2 million project to widen, repave and reduce congestion on Avenue 3E from I-8 to Highway 95, and Highway 95 from Avenue 3E to Araby Road. The project is scheduled for completion by August.
