Northbound Interstate 17 closed this weekend between Glendale and Dunlap avenues Drivers should plan ahead and consider alternate routes

The Arizona Department of Transportation continues the project to add a new layer of smooth rubberized asphalt to I-17 between Dunlap and 19th avenues in Phoenix. The next in a series of weekend closures is scheduled to begin Friday night. ADOT encourages drivers to plan ahead and use alternate routes, including State Route 51 and Loop 101, in addition to the frontage road, 19th Avenue and 27th Avenue.

Closures and restrictions include:
Northbound I-17 will be closed between Glendale and Dunlap avenues from 10 p.m. Friday, May 12, to 5 a.m. Monday, May 15.
Northern and Dunlap avenues will be narrowed to one lane in both directions at I-17 as crews work on fence replacement at the interchange. No left turns will be allowed.
The southbound I-17 HOV lane will be closed between Dunlap and Northern avenues for fence replacement work.

I-17 will be closed in segments each weekend through the end of June. Only one direction will be closed at a time.

Drivers should use caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment in work zones.

No restrictions or closures will be scheduled over the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
