STUDY: MEN AND WOMEN ARE DIFFERENT SPECIES

Men and women are "basically different species," says a study published on the Public Library of Science website. The data, pulled from 10,000 American men and women who took a questionnaire that measured 15 variations of personality traits, records that men and women feel and behave in very specific (and gendered) ways.
Men are more:
  • Dominant
  • Reserved
  • Utilitarian
  • Vigilant
  • Rule-conscious
  • Emotionally stable

While women are more:
  • Deferential
  • Warm
  • Trusting
  • Sensitive
  • Emotionally "reactive"

The team reports that at the end of the day only 18 percent of men and women match in terms of personality profiles. Please also note that this directly contradicts a 2005 study known today as the consensus view, conducted by a (female) professor at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, which found that men and women are actually markedly similar, even in areas such as self-esteem, leadership and math ability, all of which have been male-skewed historically. On the other hand, this does sort of explain why girls seem to be more attuned to the intricacies of social groups and relationships while dudes seem to be more attuned to the intricacies of video games,
