Item 604: Mine Head Frame: One lot consisting of a New Old Stock (nos) Lake Shore Structural Steel Head Frame with 2 sheave wheels, skip, and man cage. This lake shore head frame and components were purchased in 1984 from lake shore, and delivered in 1985 to Nevada but never erected. It was placed in an outside storage yard and has remained in this outside storage until now. The head frame is approximately 80 feet tall to the sheave axis and has space for two hoisting compartments, one for a skip and one for a double deck man cage. The head frame contains dump scrolls and a dump chute in the skip compartment. The main upright legs are structural steel 10 inch h beam 5/8 inch thick and the front legs are structural steel 18 inch distinctly marked. The head frame was designed for vertical loads of 115,000 pounds on the skip head sheave and 88,000 pounds on the man cage head sheave side with integral head-frame dumping system built into head-frame guides and dump chutes. The bolts and nuts for the head frame are being stored in covered buckets some of which are showing rust. The head frame system comes complete with two sheaves, one double deck man cage and one skip. The first lake shore head sheave is grooved for 1 inch diameter wire rope, and has a pitch diameter of 6 feet 9 inch and an overall diameter of 7 feet. The sheave center shaft is 6 inch diameter and fabricated from 1045 steel with two spherical roller bearings in pillow blocks. The second lake shore sheave is grooved for 7/8 inch diameter wire rope and a pitch diameter of 5 feet 7/8 inch and an overall diameter of 5 feet 4 inch and a center shaft of 6 inch diameter and fabricated from 1045 steel. The hoisting muck skip has a capacity of 3 1/3 cubic yard (90 cubic feet) designed and built by Lake Shore Inc. The skip is a jetto type, bottom dump approximately 17 feet high and 4 feet 10 inch face to face of the guide rails and 4 feet 10 inch in the other direction. The skip was designed to ride on 6 inch by 4 inch steel tubular rails with skip shores. The skip has a folding deck and gate above the much compartment of the skip for transporting personnel. The man cage was designed and manufactured by lake shore and is a double deck with a capacity of 11 personnel per deck (total 22 personal) with gudie rollers and safety dogs. The guide rail safety device/guide rollers are designed to ride upon and engage a 4 inch by 6 inch tubular steel guide rail. The cage is 4 feet 5 1/2 inch by 4 feet 5 1/2 inch by 25 feet high. The floor of the upper compartment is hinged for transporting long pieces of equipment and material. The cage is also designed to hoist equipment and material slung beneath the man cage if needed. ** INSPECTION IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.
