Drake is on a roll! Just hours after declaring his love for Rihanna at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 28, he took to Instagram to continue praising his rumored girlfriend. The Canadian rapper kissed the stunning singer in a late-night selfie he posted onto social media after the awards show. "This is a night for us all to be thankful for what you have done for us!" he captioned the shot. "You have affected so many of our lives in the best way possible. Tonight we celebrate you! @badgalriri" His 27.3 million followers went crazy over his cute snap and littered the comments section with heart emojis and happy messages. The couple have never actually confirmed they're dating, which is why his heartfelt VMA speech was so surprising. Drake, 29, was close to tears when he presented Rihanna, 28, with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. He gushed about her music, her personality and her ability to stay grounded before he declared his love for her. "We love the music which could change styles from album to album," he said. "We love the videos which change their artistic vision from year to year. But most of all, we love the woman who hasn't changed since day one. She's someone I've been in love with since I was 22 years old. She's one of my best friends in the world. All my adult life, I've looked up to her even though she's younger than me." Fans were convinced he was then going to propose and excitedly took to Twitter anticipating the romantic gesture. Drake didn't get down on one knee, but the pair did share a kiss for the cameras. Six weeks after they broke up, we're told that Joshua Jackson wants to get back together with Diane Kruger. Pals of "The Affair" star say he's still in love with the actress -- whom he dated for 10 years until July. "He never wanted the breakup in the first place," said a source. "He's pretty bummed out .?.?. Diane is currently wearing the pants and calling the shots with the breakup, but he wants to work things out with her," the source continued. Apparently Jackson has been dating other girls since the split, but his heart's not really in the single life, the source added. Jackson was recently spotted having a marathon eight-hour lunch with "The Affair" co-star Ruth Wilson at Gemma. Shortly before the split, Kruger and Jackson moved into a New York apartment together, and the German actress said she was still mulling over whether to marry him. When asked by Net-a-Porter's the Edit if Kruger -- who is divorced -- would ever consider tying the knot again, she replied, "Welcome to my dilemma." (Page Six)

Justin Bieber's Instagram is Back. Justin Bieber is back. Two weeks after deactivating his Instagram account following some mean comments about his purported girlfriend Sofia Richie, JB cranked his account back up in the early morning hours of Monday (Aug. 29) without comment. Among the posts we appear to have missed in the meantime are ones from a week ago in which Justin makes kissy noise calls to his new dog, Todd. And another adorable Todd view......This was the last post Bieber made before things got shut down, imploring his 77.8 million followers to stop being "so mean to people that I like." (Billboard)

Taylor Swift Proves She's Just Like Us By Serving Jury Duty In Nashville! All of Taylor Swift's Law & Order dreams came true on Monday morning as the 26-year-old had jury duty in Nashville! Celebs... They're just like us! Looks like Kanye West's shade at the MTV VMAs Sunday night wasn't gonna stop Tay Tay from fulfilling her civic duty! LOLz! Imagine walking into the what you know will be a long day in court (on a Monday no less), and seeing T. Swift seated right next to you! Amaze! Fortunately, the singer posed alongside her fellow jurors for a couple of selfies! (Perez Hilton)

Not impressed?! Kim Kardashian and Kanye West didn't drink the lemonade during the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 28. A backstage camera caught the couple completely focused on their phones during Beyonce's epic performance. at NYC's Madison Square Garden. While the crowd roared with applause inside the venue, Kardashian, 35, and West, 39, were sitting in a private room backstage together. As seen in the MTV video, the parents of two barely engaged with each other and scrolled through their iPhones the whole time. The couple were backstage at the time waiting for Kardashian to introduce Britney Spears on the show. Earlier in the night, West debuted his new video for "Fade," which features actress-singer Teyana Taylor. The rapper even mentioned Queen Bey, 34, during his speech before the video. Kimye later returned to their seats and the Selfish author could be seen on camera telling West to put his phone away. West and Beyonce, of course, have history at the VMAs. Back in 2009, he famously interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech to shout that the "Sorry" singer should have won the Best Female Video award for her 2008 smash hit "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)." This year, Beyonce belted out some of her biggest Lemonade tracks, including "Sorry," "Hold Up," "Don't Hurt Yourself" and "Formation." She dropped the mic after the jaw-dropping performance and the audience went nuts. "I could've been born at any time, but God let me live during Beyonce's time on earth," one fan tweeted. A second quipped: "HER VOCALS AND THAT DAMN BODY GOT ME SHOOK #VMAs." (US Weekly)

Mariska Hargitay lost it on the NYC set of "Law & Order: SVU" last week. "They were shooting on Ninth Avenue, and she was yelling, 'Did you get that?' to a crew member. The guy responded, 'No,' and she went apes?-?-?t," a spy said. "She was saying, 'When I do these, you have to make sure you get this.' She was in a full NYPD police vest and was running down the street out of nowhere yelling at this guy." A source close to the show, however, told us, "It's her on-set shtick. This is her joking around with the camera guys .?.?. They've been working together for 18 years." (Page Six)

Nick Jonas and Joe Jonas Got Matching Tattoos Before the 2016 MTV VMAs. Other than taking home a new award Sunday night with the rest of his DNCE band members (for winning Best New Artist at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards), Joe Jonas decided to add a little something new to a whole different type of collection. He and Nick Jonas got matching tattoos! The brothers decided to kick off their VMA night by getting inked. Just a few hours before the awards show kicked off, they tattooed matching arrows on the back of their arms that point at one another, and of course Nick caught the whole thing on Snapchat. In back-to-back videos that he shared to his My Story, Nick captured the process of the tattoo, showing both himself and Joe getting inked while lying on a chair as the artists drew the arrows on their triceps. Nick then shared a photo of the final outcome, showing the brothers standing side-by-side with their backs to the camera, revealing their ink and writing "Boom" across the pic. Meanwhile, Nick took the stage at the VMAs shortly after getting the new tat as one of the VMA performers. Joined by Ty Dolla $ign, the dynamic duo traveled to Tick Tock Diner for their performance of "Bacon" off of Nick's latest album. Also spotted throughout the performance? Ashley Graham and DNCE, both making surprise appearances as Nick danced around the diner. After the show, Nick went back into the audience and cheered on his brother's band as they took home the Moonman for Best New Artist. (Eonline)

Angel Salazar is coming up empty-handed in the child support department again ... and a judge just sicced the law on him with an arrest warrant. Arizona cops are on the lookout for the actor, who played Chi Chi in "Scarface," for shorting his baby mama $1,100 back in January. He hasn't dropped a dime for the $5k a month obligation since July. Angel better not show his face in the Apache State anytime soon, 'cause it'll cost him $5,000 to get bailed out if he's arrested this time around. Chi Chi, get the yayo ... and scrounge together some cash for your kids while you're at it. (TMZ)

"Ice Road Truckers" star Darrell Ward died in a plane crash Sunday. Darrell had just left a truck show in Dallas where he met fans and friends, and was heading back to Missoula, MT to begin filming a pilot for his new documentary -- ironically and sadly about the recovery of plane wrecks. Darrell was flying with a co-pilot when their Cessna single engine plane crashed on approach near the Rock Creek exit off Interstate 90. The family said, "While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family's privacy during their time of grief. His manager and best friend M. Bob Stanton and longtime friend Chuck Campbell are expected to make a lengthier statement shortly." He was 52 years old. RIP (TMZ)

Latin sensation Juan Gabriel has died at the age of 66 from a suspected heart attack ... TMZ has learned. Law enforcement sources tell us cops were called to a residence in Santa Monica Sunday morning where the singer was pronounced dead. We're told it appears he died of natural causes ... no foul play is suspected. Gabriel's body is currently with the L.A. county medical examiner. Gabriel was in the middle of his "MeXXico Es Todo Tour," and just performed at the Forum in Los Angeles on Friday night. (TMZ)

THE OTHER STUFF . . .

LeBron James is the newest resident of Warner Bros. Studios ... 'cause TMZ Sports has learned the King now has his own house and parking space on the legendary studio lot. You might remember LeBron's company, SpringHill Entertainment, struck a content deal with WB last year ... and as part of that, Bron gets his own digs on one of the most famous lots in movie history. His producing partner, Maverick Carter, gets his own parking space too. BTW -- it's pretty common for Hollywood players to have living and working spaces on lots ... a practice that dates back to the old studio system ... but to get one, you gotta be A-list talent. Best thing about LeBron's place? YOU CAN SEE IT!! His joint is visible on the WB Studio Tour ... and the guides even point out it belongs to the NBA's best. Forget the NBA ... this guy's taking over the entire world. (TMZ)

There was so much to discuss when Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West hit the red carpet at the MTV VMAs Sunday night. There was her remarkably low-key dress, her natural makeup and undone, damp hair; there was his "famous" T-shirt and white sneakers; there was her perfectly polished mani. (It's Essie Gel Couture in Sheer Fantasy, thanks for asking.) And then -- record scratch -- was that an enormous new rock she was flaunting on her left ring finger? To the untrained eye, it might appear that Kardashian is wearing the 15-carat Lorraine Schwartz stunner that Kanye West famously proposed with at San Francisco's AT&T Stadium. And there's no doubt, it occupies a similar amount of real estate on her finger and has a similar vibe (the vibe being, absurdly large). But a closer examination reveals that her VMAs bling is slightly different from her engagement ring in a few key aspects. Most notably, the cut is different; whereas her engagement ring is a cushion cut set onto a thin pave band, this newer ring appears to be an emerald cut with more sharply defined corners. It also appears to be slightly larger (we know, it's hard to believe) and seems to be set on an even thinner French pave band. A source tells People that this new ring is a gift from her doting husband, who also bestowed upon her the gift of calling her a "G" during his wide-ranging VMAs speech. It's not the million-dollar push present she requested, but we bet she's not complaining. (People)

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos Say Goodbye to Their College-Bound Son. It's not a goodbye, it's a see you later. Perhaps that's just one of the many quotes going through Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos' head after sending their eldest son off to college. Before arriving at any dorm room, however, the daytime talk-show host took to Instagram to share a photo of her three kids. And yes, 19-year-old Michael Consuelos was the main man on mama's mind. "Saying goodbye to big bro, the college freshman," she shared on social media. "(Whilst conspiring to take over his bedroom.)" While the famous family keeps Michael's college destination private, fans have received a glimpse into his transition from a high school senior to college freshman. Back in June, several relatives and famous friends including Andy Cohen and Lucy Liu came together for a celebratory dinner in New York City. Kelly also took to Instagram to share a heartfelt photo from the graduation ceremony. "The Graduate, his father, his brother, his grandfather," she wrote. "Congratulations HE! We are so proud." As a new chapter begins in the family, Michael may want to watch his back. After all, mom has some serious ideas for when her son moves onto a college campus. "We've got big plans for his bedroom, big plans," she joked during a recent episode of LIVE! With Kelly. "That bedroom is going to be turned into a mega closet before you can say 'university.'" Something tells us Michael is still welcome home anytime. (Eonline)

Don't do it for the Graham. When asked about the weirdest message she's ever received online, Ashley Graham didn't mince words. "I really think it's weird when they send me penis pictures [on Instagram]," the buxom beauty, 28, told Page Six on the MTV VMAs white carpet Sunday. "It irks me deep inside. Don't do it, I'll block you." Just days after debuting a new blonde 'do, Graham hit the carpet rocking a sparkling, sheer dress by Naeem Khan Stuart and a blunt lob. Graham, who told us she was most excited to see Beyonce and Rihanna perform, was joined by her husband Justin Ervin, who she married in 2010. (Page Six)

Don't count on running into Jenni "JWoww" Farley at the polls this November. While talking to Page Six at the VMAs Sunday night, the 30-year-old revealed that she's not particularly jazzed about the upcoming election. "Eh ... Either way we're screwed," the former "Jersey Shore" star explained. "That's my opinion. I'm like, 'What's the lesser of two evils?'" The mom of two went on to admit that she's not exactly up-to-date on the candidates' policies anyway. "To be honest, I don't pay attention, so, when I, like, try and get into like politics and all that, I don't even know what's going on, to tell you the truth, because I never thought it would end up to be those two. So now I'm like, 'S–t!'" Sorry, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump! (Page Six)

This one will give Laguna Beach fans all the feels. On Saturday, a few stars from the hit MTV reality series reunited to attend Dieter Schmitz's wedding in Monterey, California. Schmitz, who starred on the show as a close friend of Conrad and Stephen Colletti, wed his fiancee Isabell Hiebl. Several of Schmitz's co-stars served as groomsmen, including Colletti, Trey Phillips and Loren Polster. Colletti shared a pic with his best pal, writing, and "One proud groomsman. The German king scores himself a lovely Austrian queen. And all is well... #dizzy4schmitz @dieterschmitz." Phillips also took to Instagram to share a few snaps of the celebrations, including a video of the groom popping a bottle of champagne and a group shot of the guys. "This guy is getting married today!" he captioned the video. "What a happy day!" Conrad was also in attendance, posing alongside her friend on Instagram stories and posting a sweet picture of the happy couple on her official account. "Congrats to @dieterschmitz and @isathebell !!!" she captioned the shot. "We are so happy for you two!!! XOXO #dizzy4schmitz." Earlier this year, the reality series celebrated the 10th anniversary of the finale. Several of the show's stars, including Phillips, Jason Wahler, Alex Murrel, Morgan Smith and Taylor Cole Simshauser took a trip down memory lane to film a reunion special for E! (People)

No One Loved Jimmy Fallon's Ryan Lochte VMA Impersonation More Than Michael Phelps. It was one of the standout moments of the night and Michael Phelps didn't want to forget it. As the annual MTV Video Music Awards neared its finale late Sunday night, Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon blazed onto the stage to present the highly anticipated 2016 Video of the Year Award -- except his costume had us doing a double take. Standing before us was not the entertainer of a late-night show, but the bleached blond, tracksuit-clad Olympic gold medalist, Ryan Lochte. Having sparked controversy at this year's summer games for initially alleging he and his fellow swimmers had been pulled over in their taxi and robbed with a gun cocked to his head, the swimmer's behavior turned into Fallon's punchline. "Who had the best video of the year? I can't tell you that. They're all so great and so talented, I could never choose," he joked at the mic. "I couldn't tell you even if there was a gun to my head." Fallon then played off of Lochte's penchant for stretching the truth by claiming he was the mastermind behind all of this year's nominated videos. "I directed all five nominees. What an amazing year I've had! I taught Drake the 'Hotline Bling' dance," he said. "I made Lemonade with Queen Bey." While it was a risky sketch so close to the actual events, the crowd seemed entirely amused by the bit, including Lochte's fellow teammate and competitor, Phelps. While the most decorated Olympian of all time comfortably took in the show from his seat in the audience alongside fiance Nicole Johnson, the couple definitely got a kick out of the joke. While the former Miss California laughed into her hands, Phelps visibly mouthed "Oh my God" while capturing the moment on his phone. Though Fallon had the audience briefly in stitches, Beyonce quickly stole his thunder when she ultimately won the Moonman for her hit, "Formation." (Eonline)

Rio's the least of Ryan Lochte's legal issues because he says he's also fallen victim to a bunch of crooks right here in the U.S.A. -- chronically, in fact, and it's cost him more than $100k. TMZ has learned Lochte told cops his car was broken into in a Charlotte parking lot back in January. Law enforcement tells us Ryan said the thieves jacked his iPod, swimsuit, swimcap, goggles and a Team USA backpack. Total loss ... $1,000. Ryan also admitted he left his car unlocked. Lochte's luck was even worse when he lived in Gainesville, FL.

Huma Abedin Separates From Anthony Weiner Amid New Alleged Sexting Scandal. After six years of marriage, Huma Abedin has decided to split from Anthony Weiner. The vice chairwoman of Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign released the following statement to E! News: "After long and painful consideration and work on my marriage, I have made the decision to separate from my husband. Anthony and I remain devoted to doing what is best for our son, who is the light of our life. During this difficult time, I ask for respect for our privacy." The news comes just a day after a report broke that Weiner had been sexting another woman for more than a year. The New York Post reported that the former member of the House of Representatives has been caught in yet another sexting scandal. Just a few months after releasing a tell-all about the sexual photos and text messages that ruined his campaign for the mayor of NYC, Weiner is at the forefront of even more photos and sexts after a new woman came forward and released them to The Post over the weekend. But, even more concerning is the fact that one of the sexual photos includes his young son in bed with him. According to the report, Weiner messaged the woman, "Someone just climbed into bed with me," and subsequently snapped a photo of his bulge in a pair of white jockey underwear as his 4-year-old son slept beside him. Screenshots from their conversations date back to January 2015 and continue all the way through the beginning of this month. Many of the messages Weiner sent were sexually charged, including several shirtless pics and snaps of his bulge in his underwear (similar to the one that got him in trouble several years ago). The woman also returned the favor, sending several pictures of her bust in low-cut tops as well as in her bra and underwear. Weiner does not deny their conversations, but told The Post the two "have been friends for some time." He told the publication, "She has asked me not to comment except to say that our conversations were private, often included pictures of her nieces and nephews and my son and were always appropriate." Still, Weiner deleted his Twitter account by Monday morning, and shortly thereafter, his wife announced their separation. (Eonline)

Diddy and Drake haven't just squashed their beef, they've built a bonafide friendship ... and that's why Diddy made the surprise appearance at his North Carolina concert. Sources close to the rappers tell us they hang out frequently since hashing out their legendary Miami fight with a phone call a year ago. Diddy's been holding a boot camp in Pennsylvania for his upcoming Bad Boy Family Reunion tour -- and we're told Diddy took a private jet to Carolina after Drake hooked up tickets for him and his crew. As for why Diddy sat with the normies -- one source says Diddy wanted to experience the show like a fan ... and BFF, of course. (TMZ)

Why Didn't the MTV VMAs Include David Bowie and Prince Tributes? Did MTV forget about David Bowie and Prince? The music industry is still mourning the deaths of pair, who died three months apart in early 2016. The 2016 MTV VMAs aired live Sunday from Madison Square Garden and featured a number of standout performances, with everyone from Rihanna to Beyonce taking the stage. And yet, as many fans pointed out via social media, the show didn't -- but should have -- included tributes to Bowie and Prince. After all, the singers were two of the most influential visual artists of all time. Not to mention, Bowie and Prince both won multiple VMAs in their heydays. Bowie was nominated 10 times between 1984 and 2016. His first win came in 1984, when the rock star took home Best Male Video for "China Girl" and the Video Vanguard Award. In 1986, Bowie was recognized for Best Overall Performance in a Video for "Dancing in the Street." The singer was posthumously nominated four times in 2016 -- more times than he'd ever been in a single year. "Lazarus" was up for Best Direction, Best Editing and Best Cinematography, but it lost to Beyonce's "Formation"; director Melina Matsoukas, director of photography Malik Sayeed and editor by Jeff Selis walked away with the Moonman trophies. Bowie's "Blackstar" won the award for Best Art Direction, though credit was given to art director Jan Houllevigue. As for Prince? He received 12 nominations between 1985 and 2006. He won Best Choreography in a Video for "Raspberry Beret" in 1986, Best Male Video and Best Stage Performance in a Video for "U Got the Look" in 1988, and Best Dance Video for "Cream" in 1992. MTV has not explained why it opted to forgo tribute performances during Sunday's ceremony. It was surprising to many, given that its first-ever awards ceremony featured a pre-recorded performance of Bowie's "Blue Jean." Prince also performed twice at the VMAs, singing a medley of "Sign o' the Times" and "Play in the Sunshine" in 1987, followed by "Gett Off" (with The New Power Generation) in 1991. Bowie and Prince had also appeared as presenters over the years. A month after Bowie's death on Jan. 10, Lady Gaga honored the icon during the Grammys, while Lorde did him justice at the BRIT Awards. Following Prince's death on Apr. 21, Madonna and Stevie Wonder played his greatest hits at the Billboard Awards. But the BET Awards went all out, recruiting Jerome Benton, Sheila E., Elisa Fiorillo, Mayte Garcia, Jennifer Hudson, Tori Kelly, Maxwell, Janelle Monáe, Liv Warfield and Stevie Wonder. (Eonline)

Britney Spears Slays 2016 VMAs Performance With a Surprise From G-Eazy. Britney Spears made her grand return to the 2016 MTV VMAs after nine years away from the stage, and it was worth the wait. Of course, fans would've loved to see Brit Brit throughout the past nine years, but given her performance Sunday night we're sure fans walked away completely satisfied. She began her set with "Make Me," walking out in a sheer jumpsuit with yellow sequins and bright yellow boots. Not too long after did G-Eazy join her out on stage where they really heated things up. They eventually transitioned into "Me, Myself & I," grinding and dancing all up on each other much to the delight of the audience and viewers watching. This past week Britney released her latest album, Glory, and critics had nothing but wonderful things to say about it. Calling it the "comeback" album fans have been waiting for, Britney proved that she really is back and better than ever. Although many have been lucky enough to catch her highly successful Las Vegas show, Sunday night fans who haven't made the trek to her residency definitely received an incredible slice of it. Before the iconic awards show, Britney revealed she was excited but nervous for what was to come. "I think there's something in the air with the VMAs," she told Cubby and Carolina in The Morning radio show Friday. "It's like electric. I can't really explain it." The 34-year-old continued, "Every time I've performed there it's always been one of those really big, nerve-racking experiences and the people that come, those celebrities, are so much fun and different...I still get very nervous." If she was nervous at all, it certainly didn't show! (Eonline)

Nick Jonas' Performance at the MTV Video Music Awards Isn't Complete Without Ashley Graham and "Bacon." Nobody enjoys feeling like they got snubbed. But according to many music fans, that's exactly what happened to Nick Jonas when the nominations were announced for the 2016 MTV Video Awards. On Sunday night, however, the "Chains" singer proved he's quite the good sport when he appeared at the star-studded show to perform his latest hit. Joined by Ty Dolla $ign, the dynamic duo traveled to Tick Tock Diner for their performance of "Bacon" off of Nick's latest album. But wait, we spotted Ashley Graham and DNCE making a surprise appearance. But don't worry Joe Jonas. Nick didn't get as close to the model in comparison to your music video for "Toothbrush." After the performance, Nick would cheer on his brother's band who was up for Best New Artist. It's been an incredible year for Nick who has spent his summer traveling across the country with Demi Lovato as part of the Honda Civic Tour. At the same time, the former Jonas Brothers member has found time to make some pretty unforgettable music videos including "Under You" with Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell as well as "Close" with Tove Lo. Despite not having a chance for a moonman at this year's show, the 23-year-old was able to give himself a pep talk last month to remind himself awards are the clear deciders of whether or not you succeeded. "Disappointed with the fact 'Close' got no love for the #VMAs2016," he shared on social media. "Actually after thinking about it more there are so many amazing things happening in my life and career. 9 out of 10 boxes are checked...Won't let this one thing get to me. I'm feeling so inspired and grateful these days." Nick added, "Gonna focus more on caring less about the small stuff. Everything is awesome." And so was that performance. Well done Nick J! (Eonline)

"Fade" Video at 2016 VMAs. Kanye West shut it down at the 2016 MTV VMAs. The "Famous" rapper walked out onto the stage with that song playing in the background, with the Taylor Swift lyric on full volume -- most likely not a coincidence. "I am Kanye West, and it feels really great to say especially this year..." he began his speech. Before introducing his new video, however, he said, "Imma talk." He joked that his "Famous" music video might lose to Beyonce, but it would be OK because he's always rooting for his BFF to win -- oh we see your references to the 2009 VMAs, Kanye! Yeezy then explained the inspiration behind his video, talking about how it's a metaphor about music and society today. He mentioned Amber Rose, joked he included Ray J in his video, and did this all while his wife, Kim Kardashian, laughed hysterically while watching her husband. He even mentioned his infamous ongoing feud with Swift, giving everyone the reason why he called her. Kanye then introduced the music video for "Fade," which featured Teyana Taylor dancing in a thong and sports bra near gym equipment. The music video only got steamier from there, even going so far as to feature Taylor naked in the shower with a male companion. Prior to Sunday night's festivities, Kanye was reportedly given four minutes of airtime to do whatever he wanted. Suffice it to say, that left plenty of time for Kanye to be as creative as he wanted. Last year he gave a rousing speech about how he would be running for president in the 2020 election, so there was no predicting what the "Ultralight Beam" rapper could bring to the 2016 VMA stage. Having launched his Saint Pablo Tour in Indiana last week with an entirely new stage design, we knew to expect something wild for the VMAs. "I just wanted people to get into it and have a fun time. Make it not be just about watching the artist but people watching their friends and singing along with the lyrics and just being able to see themselves and their outfits," Kanye explained to E! News of his tour's floating platform. "Take the concert experience to another level. It's not just about what you're seeing on the screen or what you're seeing me doing up on the stage, but what you and your friends are doing." Although Kanye wants to give all that he can during his performances, he also wants to make sure those who are turning out are really enjoying themselves. "I want people to come to the Pablo shows and know it's just going to be the best time they've had in their life," he added. Whether they're attending his tour or watching him talk at the VMAs, it's safe to say fans are getting an experience. (Eonline)

Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj Define #FitnessGoals During "Side to Side" Duet at the 2016 MTV VMAs. Ariana Grande's MTV Video Music Award performance has us running to the nearest SoulCycle class. While awaiting the results of her five nominations Sunday night, the 23-year-old songstress took a moment out of her seat to serenade the crowd with her Nicki Minaj duet, "Side to Side." Kicking off the performance atop an exercise bike in a line of matching neon-clad dancers, the songstress showed the world that belting it out while pedaling on a bicycle is just another day in the life of a pop star. The performance continued its '80s fitness theme when Minaj, sporting a pink latex bodysuit, arrived to rap her part surrounded by muscular male dancers pumping iron. Can this happen inside every gym? It's safe to say the fierce duo stole the show from all sides of Madison Square Garden. Neither performer is an amateur when it comes to the VMA stage -- the two collaborated with Jessie J in 2014 for their Grammy-nominated hit track, "Bang Bang." Already an MTV VMA winner, Grande has 10 additional nominations to her name and is up for Best Female Video, Best Collaboration, Best Pop Video, Best Cinematography and Best Editing this year. As for Minaj, the rapper has three VMA wins under her belt and six more nominations. The bonafide star had been teasing fans with sneak previews of Sunday night's performance on social media, fueling anticipation for the accompanying music video set to debut after the ceremony wraps. As far as we could have predicted from Ariana's Twitter and Instagram clues, we were in for a bevy of hunks. As for all of those bike emojis, it all finally makes sense. If the music video is anything like the sexy show the ladies just put on, we're turning on the air conditioning because it's about to get hot, hot, hot. (Eonline)

Composers Hone Their Conducting Skills Through BMI's Annual Conducting Workshop. "Composers spend so much time in our studios writing the music, but it's the musicians playing that bring it to life. Otherwise, it's just notes on a page," says conductor and composer Lucas Richman, explaining why he founded and leads BMI's annual conducting working. This year's six-day workshop concluded Aug. 27 with the eight participants each conducting a 32-piece orchestra at The Bridge Recording Studio in Glendale, Calif. While not every composer chooses to conduct his or her own music, Lucas feels that it's vital that a composer "stand on the podium and feel comfortable to properly convey the music they have written" at least once. Richman, the music director of the Bangor (Maine) Symphony Orchestra who studied under Leonard Bernstein, started the BMI Conductors Workshop 19 years ago with BMI Senior VP Doreen Ringer Ross. He had taken composer Earle Hagen's (The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Andy Griffith Show) scoring workshop through BMI in 1987 and found it so helpful, he wanted to give back to BMI and help train composers in an often neglected area. He has run the workshop since its birth. "With technology the way it is, it's a reminder to a lot of our composers that there are live people playing," says Ray Yee, BMI assistant VP, who oversees the program. The class is comprised of composers who are already on their way, but aren't beginners or yet seasoned pros. Some have conducted before, others have never picked up a baton. "This isn't for students coming out of universities," Yee says, "And when you catch composers later in their career, they're not willing. We focus on the up-and-coming class of composers." The timing was right for Jermaine Stegall, a 2004 graduate of USC's Thornton School of Music. Stegall has written the music to more than 20 films and worked as a composer's assistant. He often conducts his own orchestra, but saw the conducting workshop as an opportunity to "take additional tools and add them to my palette." Plus, the ability to lead an orchestra of professional musicians "with the understanding that this is all about learning" was appealing. Stegall's biggest takeaway, in addition to improving his technique, was a reminder to "breathe with the players," a point that Richman stresses in his holistic approach to conducting. Richman starts the workshop with the participants conducting two pianos, he then adds in a string quintet, and then woodwinds, until the students are ready to conduct with the full orchestra. They don't conduct their own music -- "it's not about their ego, it's about the music," he says. Instead, they select a classical piece or a piece of beloved film music from such legendary composers as John Williams or Jerry Goldsmith. Their conducting sessions are filmed for them to keep and study. With tours of TV and film music becoming more popular -- composer Jeff Beal began a tour of the music from House of Cards in July, while Ramin Djawadi will take the music from Game of Thrones on the road in February -- being able to conduct could become a more essential skill. "We've become a much more visually oriented society; it's not enough to sit anonymously in our studios and write music," Richman says. "Audiences crave the celebrity of someone who's written the theme for Mr. Robot or whatever it may be. To see that person conduct that music, [they think] 'Wow, I'm within reach of the person who's had this kind of creativity.' That's inspiring for future generations." In its 19 years, the workshop, which is free to participants, has ushered through more than 160 participants, many of whom have gone on to become preeminent film and TV composers, including Nathan Barr (True Blood, The Americans), Jeff Beal (House of Cards, Blackfish), Laura Karpman (Underground, The Living Edens),Rolfe Kent (Sideways, Up in the Air), Christopher Lennertz (Ride Along, Supernatural), Cliff Martinez (Traffic, Contagion), Lolita Ritmanis (Batman Beyond, Teen Titans), and Juan Carlos Rodriguez (East Los High, Matador). Colin Kaepernick is getting some big time support over his national anthem controversy ... because Tim Commerford thinks the QB is a straight "badass." The bassist for "Rage Against the Machine" was leaving the London in NYC Sunday when he applauded Kaepernick for standing up for his beliefs, knowing there may be repercussions. He even says the San Fran QB has an open invitation to join the band. Commerford is no stranger to public protests -- he famously climbed a wall during the 2000 VMA's to protest Limp Bizkit beating them out for Best Rock Video. BTW ... he's still not over the loss. Ben Affleck Teases Footage of Major DC Villain. The actor is set to direct a standalone Batman film. Is that a hint? Ben Affleck tantalized fans Monday with test footage of major DC Comics villain Deathstroke. Affleck, who is set to direct and star in a solo Batman film, shared a short snippet of the villain walking and menacing the camera. Deathtroke was first introduced in the comics in 1980 in New Teen Titans No. 2. Born with the name Slade Wilson, Deathstroke is an expert assassin with super strength and stamina. He's often been part of Green Arrow's rogue's gallery, and on TV has been played by Manu Bennett on CW's Arrow. There's already been plenty of speculation as to who Affleck's Dark Knight will face off against, with Suicide Squad introducing chief antagonist Joker (Jared Leto) into the DC Extended Universe. Affleck, whose Batman first appeared in March's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, also appeared in this summer's Suicide Squad. The actor is currently shooting Warner Bros.' Justice League in London, with Zack Snyder's superhero teamup film set for Nov. 17, 2017. No date has been set for Affleck's solo film. He's also set to direct and star the adaptation of Agatha Christie's short story Witness for the Prosecution for 20th Century Fox. (Hollywood Reporter)

Critic's Notebook: Toronto, Telluride and Venice Film Fests Promise Riches After Cruel Summer. After a dismal summer movie season, the big fall festivals feature a slate of intriguing offerings, from the much buzzed-about gay drama 'Moonlight' to new works by Oliver Stone and Clint Eastwood and an original musical starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. Possibly this year more than ever due to the execrable summer movie season we've just endured, film hounds, prognosticators, date nighters, industry insiders and just plain fans are looking ahead to the fall for signs of creative life on the big screen. The first evidence of such will be sought at the big film festivals that will unspool over the next couple of months, beginning within the week at Venice and Telluride and continuing in Toronto and New York. At the very least, we can expect a bit of a break from the seemingly endless march of "re" films -- retreads, redos, remakes, reimaginings and reboots (all words now officially banned by Hollywood executives in the spirit of industry correctness). Except not quite: A new version of the Magnificent Seven will serve as the opening night attraction at the Toronto Film Festival, as well as closing night in Venice. Which are the most anticipated movies? Certainly the recently revitalized Venice is offering the world premieres of several of them, beginning with its opener, Damien Chazelle's original, highly stylized modern musical La La Land, starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. It's surmised that this one will turn up almost simultaneously at Telluride, as will, it is thought, Denis Villeneuve's much-anticipated first venture into sci-fi (prior to his now-shooting Blade Runner sequel), Arrival, which features Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker. For those of us who consider Tom Ford's A Single Man one of the most exceptional directorial debuts in recent times, seven years has been too long to wait for the designer's follow-up, but it is finally upon us: Nocturnal Animals, which also stars Amy Adams, along with Jake Gyllenhaal, will surface first in Venice, then turn up in Toronto. On the far opposite end of the experience spectrum, two of Hollywood's veteran greats, Clint Eastwood and Warren Beatty, will debut new films this season. The difference, of course, lies in their rate of productivity: Eastwood, whose Sully, starring Tom Hanks as a pilot who saved his passengers by landing his jet in the Hudson River, generally makes one film per year, while Beatty's Howard Hughes-centered Rules Don't Apply marks his first film as an actor in 15 years and first behind the camera in 18 years. Eastwood has appeared selectively at top festivals such as Cannes and New York over the years, and Sully is heavily rumored to be headed for a Telluride bow prior to its Sept. 7 commercial release. By contrast, Beatty remains wary of festivals, a policy he seems to be holding to in the run-up to the commercial bow of Rules on Nov. 23 (unless he decides on a last-minute premiere at the AFI Festival, where The Big Short greatly benefited from its unveiling there last year). Venice will boast the world premieres of films as diverse as Terrence Malick's long-gestating natural world documentary Voyage of Time, apparently in both the feature-length version and a 45-minute IMAX cut; Pablo Larrain's Jackie, with Natalie Portman as the president's widow in the immediate aftermath of JFK's assassination; and Mel Gibson's long-awaited return to directing with the World War II drama Hacksaw Ridge. Tuning in the radar used by festival selectors and distributors, one picks up elevated levels of excitement about Francois Ozon's black-and-white Frantz, which looks set at all the festivals; Barry Jenkins' look at three stages in the life of an isolated black and gay youngster, Moonlight; Benedict Andrews' Una with Rooney Mara; Errol Morris' and Werner Herzog's latest documentaries, The B-Side and Into the Inferno, respectively; Kasper Collin's jazz documentary I Call Him Morgan; and the first U.S.-shot dramatic feature by Israeli-American director Joseph Cedar, Norman: The Moderate Rise and Tragic Fall of a New York Fixer, which stars Richard Gere (Cedar's last film was the riveting Footnote). One distinctive curiosity that looks to pop up at one or more of the fall festivals is the debut of the oldest first-time feature director in the history of the cinema, Paris Can Wait. Behind the camera is Eleanor Coppola, who turned 80 in May and has made what is called a semi-autobiographical road movie about the wife (Diane Lane) of a difficult film director who drives from Cannes to Paris with an associate of her husband (Alec Baldwin). One recurring problem with the Toronto Film Festival is that its catalogue write-ups are always such raves as to suggest that the festival is presenting 280 masterpieces. Be that as it may, more than normal curiosity surrounds such entries as Oliver Stone's Snowden; Lone Scherfig's World War II female-centric drama Their Finest; J. A Bayona's A Monster Calls, featuring Felicity Jones, Liam Neeson and Sigourney Weaver; Jim Sheridan's The Secret Scripture starring Rooney Mara; Ewan McGregor's directorial debut with his adaptation of Philip Roth's American Pastoral, in which the director stars with Jennifer Connelly and Dakota Fanning; and, lo and behold, a new film by veteran Walter Hill, (Re)Assignment, with Sigourney Weaver and Michelle Rodriguez in what's called a "sex change action thriller." The two best titles for any films at Toronto belong to two Vanguard entries, Osgood Perkins' I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House and the animated feature My Entire High School Sinking Into the Sea. And for the archival/restoration-minded, Toronto is presenting a hitherto little known entity, the first feature (71 minutes) directed by Sidney J. Furie, A Cool Sound From Hell. Made in 1959 and set in Toronto's beatnik scene, such as it was, the film is said to have been just the second feature ever shot in the city, although it was never shown at all in North America. In the U.K., however, it was released on double-bills with Karel Reisz's landmark Saturday Night and Sunday Morning. Long thought lost, the film was found at the British Film Institute three years ago and will now receive its North American premiere. (Hollywood Reporter)

Outlander Finds Its Lord John Grey: Meet David Berry. Outlander fans, we know, Droughtlander is real and we're deep in throes of it. Here's a little shower of news to quench your thirst: Australian actor David Berry has joined the cast in the pivotal role of Lord John Grey. Berry's character, the governor of the prison holding Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), is a "a steadfast and honorable British subject, torn between a finely-honed sense of familial duty and a strong moral compass of right and wrong," according to Starz. The character, who is familiar to readers of Voyager, the third book in Diana Gabaldon's series, is described as the "consummate gentleman," but a scandal from his past has landed him as the head of the Northern Scotland prison. Berry's other TV credits include A Place to Call Home, Progeny and Home and Away. EW first reported his casting. Season three of Outlander will premiere in 2017 and a fourth season has already been ordered. "Outlander is like nothing seen before on television. From its depiction of a truly powerful female lead character, to the devastating decimation of the Highlander way of life, to what is a rarely seen genuine and timeless love story, it is a show that not only transports the viewer, but inspires the passion and admiration of its fans," Chris Albrecht, CEO of Starz, said in a statement when the renewal was announced. "On this 25th anniversary of the publication of the first book in the US, we are thrilled and honored to be able to continue the story that began with author Diana Gabaldon, and is brought to life by the incredibly talented Ronald D. Moore. There are no better storytellers for Outlander than this team, both in front and behind the camera." As for life after season four? Albrecht recently told press at TCA that "Outlander's gonna be around for a while. We couldn't be more proud of the show. They do such a fantastic job." (Eonline)

The Night Of Finale: Who Killed Andrea? Caution: This article contains spoilers for the finale of The Night Of. Proceed at your own risk. That wasn't quite the ending we expected, but we ain't mad about it. The HBO mystery series everyone's been talking about all summer just concluded its first season, and finally put an end to the mystery of who killed Andrea (Sofia Black D'Elia)...probably. Fortunately for those of us who had become invested in Naz's (Riz Ahmed) innocence, it truly appears that he is innocent. At essentially the last possible minute, Box (Bill Camp) uncovered some seriously damning evidence against Andrea's financial advisor, Ray. Just before she got into Naz's cab, Andrea and Ray -- who apparently had some romantic history -- got into a heated argument. Box also discovered that Ray had recently taken a huge chunk of change out of Andrea's account. While this in and of itself wasn't quite enough to convict Ray, especially when, as Weiss (Jeannie Berlin) said, "we've got more on the kid," it was enough to put doubt in even Weiss' mind. Chandra (Amara Karan), meanwhile, had a real bad night. Her decision to put Naz on the stand ended with him responding, "I don't know," to Weiss asking if he had killed Andrea, and everyone was just sure the case was done. Then, Stone (John Turturro) got a hold of the footage of Chandra kissing Naz, and she was demoted to second chair while he had to deliver the closing argument. And what a closing argument it was! That speech, which outlined the crimes Naz definitely was guilty of, as opposed to the crime everyone just felt like he must be guilty of, completely split the jury, six to six. The jury basically quit, and Weiss decided not to restart the trial, so Naz went free. The problem is that he's not actually free, since he's now a drug addict and a prison murderer. And now Chandra's out of a job (because of a whole host of idiotic decisions), and Stone's still sadly dealing with his eczema and taking whatever cases come his way. In some brighter news, it seems like Weiss coaxed Box right back out of retirement in order to go after Ray, and Andrea's cat is now happily living with Stone, whether he's allergic or not. So what do you think? Time for season two? (Eonline)

Donis Leonard Jr. might just be a kid but he was making a killing on "House of Lies" and was all set for another sweet raise -- then Showtime canceled the show. Donis -- who played Don Cheadle's cross-dressing son, Roscoe -- joined the cast at the very beginning. He's 17 now and earned a cool $17,500 per episode in season 4. Then he got a raise for season 5 to $20k per episode ... this according to legal docs. Season 5 wrapped with a bang -- the finale was shot entirely in Cuba. Things were looking up for Donis ... he was set to get a pay bump to $22,500 per episode in season 6. But Showtime had other plans -- it canceled the show midway through season 5. Still ... not bad for a 17-year-old. (TMZ)

The claws are out at this vow renewal! In an exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming season 2 finale of Odd Mom Out, Molly Ringwald makes her return as the littering woman on the highway-only this time, she's littering at a vow renewal ceremony. On Monday night's episode, Bravo viewers will watch as Jill Weber (Jill Kargman) goes off on Joy Greene (Ringwald) (again) when the two come face to face at the ceremony. After Joy spots Jill picking up a piece of trash that an attendee dropped at the event, she approaches her and says, "That's it! Now I remember where I know you from." Upon realizing that Joy is the littering woman that she saw-and called out-on the bumper-to-bumper highway, Jill tries to pretend that she doesn't recognize her: "I really don't know what you're referring to." "Um, oops!" Joy says as she crumples her napkin and drops it on the floor: "Does that jog your memory?" "No, I don't know what you mean," Jill responds. "Oh, really," Joy says as she drops a vegetable from her plate on the floor. "Nothing? Hm, how about now?" Though Jill attempts to not be bothered, she caves and picks up the littered pieces of food. "I knew I hated you from somewhere," Joy laughs. "You're the one who called me a Nazi on the Montauk highway." Jill states in defense of the name-calling, "Because you were littering and I was trying to protect the earth. What is wrong with you? Aren't you supposed to be the queen of happiness?" "Oh, I'm very happy right now," Joy, who is the evening's vow renewal officiant, fires back. "I'm enjoying this delightful little coincidence." The Odd Mom Out season 2 finale airs Monday at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo. (People)
