Lane closures scheduled tonight on I-19 in Tucson
Restrictions northbound and southbound will allow paving of median crossovers
Motorists traveling on Interstate 19 in Tucson will encounter overnight travel restrictions tonight while the Arizona Department of Transportation paves temporary median crossovers in the area.
The left lanes of both northbound and southbound I-19 will be closed to traffic between Irvington Road and the junction with Interstate 10 from 9 p.m. this evening (Tuesday, Aug. 23) until 5 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 24).
The right lanes in both directions will remain open during this work.
The median crossovers will be used during placement of bridge girders and other work on the new overpass under construction at I-19 and Ajo Way.
Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
