Prince's Ex Charlene Friend Makes Shocking Claim: Inside the Singer's Late Nights and 'Cocaine Diet'. For Charlene Friend, recent reports that prescription pills found hidden in an Aleve bottle at Prince's Paisley Park estate could have been counterfeit drugs containing the powerful narcotic fentanyl, is yet another painful reminder of how the late singer hid his drug use from those around him. During their years together, Friend, 44, who was sued by her former boyfriend in 2003 when she attempted to sell some of his gifts to her, insists to PEOPLE that she never witnessed Prince do drugs. But in the decades that have elapsed since their split-and his death on April 21 from an overdose of the opiate fentanyl-she's begun to understand just how much of his life he kept hidden. "He would sometimes stay up for five days at a time without sleep, food or even water, going nonstop back and forth to the studio," recalls Friend. "I had to sneak in catnaps to keep from passing out from exhaustion. The first time that happened, I asked him, 'How do you do this?'" Prince, says Friend, just smiled, stared deep into her eyes and said: "Angel food. Food of the spirit, not of the flesh." When he finally did allow himself to sleep, Friend recalls that he would cover the windows with aluminum foil, crank the heat up to 80 degrees or higher and make sure the room was pitch-black. "He would be shaking all through the night," says Friend. "The first time that happened, I asked him if he was having a nightmare and he said, 'No. I was dreaming music,'" continues Friend. "Even in his sleep, the music just poured out of him." Several years after their split, Friend was speaking with Prince's half-brother Duane Nelson, who had spent time working as head of security at Paisley Park, about how the singer was able to stay awake for days at a time. She says Nelson, who died in 2013, told her that Prince's stamina had nothing to do with "angel food" and everything to do with narcotics. "'We call it the cocaine diet,'" Friend says Nelson told her. "It was shocking to me to hear that," she adds. "He hid it so carefully. I never saw him take even an aspirin. He seemed so health-conscious, always taking vitamins like Echinacea and goldenseal." Over time, Friend claims she began hearing rumors from mutual friends that Prince was "taking pills to come down" from the tremendous high he used to get after performing in front of crowds. "Nothing could match the highs he got from his shows," she says. "Coming down afterwards made him feel empty. Perhaps drugs filled that void." Looking back on their time together, Friend tells PEOPLE she tries to focus on "the good things" about her former lover. "I want to respect his memory," she says. But in order to do that, she's had to come to grips with the true impact that drugs clearly had on his life. "There were no gray areas," Friend explains. "One day he would be in a good mood, and the next day he would be in this very deep, dark mood." She adds: "Part of that was just his personality, but I now realize that the drugs enhanced that." Ryan Lochte Lands an Endorsement Deal With a Product "That Can Get You Out of a Bad Situation." Ryan Lochte has officially landed his second post-scandal endorsement deal. The Olympic swimmer and recently announced Dancing With the Stars competitor has teamed up with Robocopp, a company that makes personal security devices. He demonstrated how to use the device in a video posted to Instagram, saying, "I've been traveling a lot lately. We all like to have fun, but it's a good idea to stay safe. I don't go anywhere without Robocopp." "It's this tiny device -- all you do it pull the pin," he said, showing how in the clip, "and it releases a startling alarm that can get you out of a bad situation." Robocopp confirmed the endorsement deal to NBC News, with spokeswoman Jill Tuner saying the company chose to sign Lochte "because he is and will likely be the best swimmer this country has produced." Per NBC News, Turner declined to comment when asked of the decision to partner with the athlete was a result of the alleged incident that took place at a Rio gas station. Last week, Lochte scored an endorsement deal from Pine Bros. Softish Cough Drops. In a press release, the company's CEO Rider McDowell "asked the public to be a little more understanding -- even forgiving -- of the young American swimmer. "We all make mistakes, but they're rarely given front-page scrutiny," McDowell said in a statement. "He's a great guy who has done in credible work with charities. I'm confident that Pine Bros. fans will support our decision to give Ryan a second chance." Lochte released a statement of his own via Instagram, writing, "Thanks to all the folks at pine bros. for your confidence in me. I look forward to making you proud." (Eonline)
Beach Boy Book's Shocking Claim: Is There a New Charles Manson Murder Victim? In Beach Boy Mike Love's new memoir Good Vibrations, he recounts a story that fellow band mate Dennis Wilson told him in the spring of 1969 about allegedly witnessing serial killer Charles Manson murder a man with an M-16 assault rifle then dispose of the body in a well. If true, it would provide a dark new chapter to Manson's already evil legacy. But retired Los Angeles County prosecutor Stephen Kay, who helped convict Manson, now 81, of nine homicides, thinks otherwise. In a chapter from Good Vibrations, Love details the shocking friendship Wilson forged with Manson and his followers- who lived in his spacious home and later slaughtered seven people, including pregnant actress Sharon Tate, along with Leo and Rosemary LaBianca, in August 1969. Months before the murders, Wilson, whose life had been turned upside down by drugs and alcohol, showed up at his brother Brian Wilson's in-home recording studio after spending time at Spahn Ranch, where the Manson family lived in a commune located 30 miles from LA. Love was laying down tracks for a new album at the time when he noticed something looked wrong with his cousin. "Dennis was visibly shaken," Love writes, "and I asked what was wrong?" Wilson, according to Love, allegedly replied, "I just saw Charlie take his M16 and blow this black cat [guy] in half and stuff him down the well." The experience, adds Love, left Wilson unnerved and paralyzed with fear. "Dennis was too frightened to go to the police," he writes. "I think he was just hoping that Manson and his family would disappear." Kay, however, isn't convinced that Wilson actually witnessed a murder at the ranch. "I've prosecuted four Tate-LaBianca murder trials and attended sixty parole hearings [of Manson family members] and I've never heard that story before," Kay tells PEOPLE. "If it was true, I would have heard it before." The only body found at the remote property was that of ranch hand Donald "Shorty" Shea, who Manson had his followers kill shortly after the Tate-LaBianca murders and whose skeletal remains were discovered in 1977. "I don't remember there actually being a well on the property," recalls Kay. "And if there was one, I doubt they would have thrown a body down there. They would have buried him like they did Shorty." Kay also acknowledges that Wilson had a "serious drug problem" during this period and questions the accuracy of anything Dennis might have told Love. Instead, he believes psychedelic drugs may explain his comment. "I would kind of suspect," adds Kay, "it [the explanation behind Wilson's comment to Love] was a tab of LSD that Dennis got at the ranch before he showed up and gave this fantastic story to Mike." When Love, now 75, was asked if he believes that Wilson actually witnessed a murder at the ranch, he replied, "That's what he told me. He was so shaken up, which is understandable. Seeing that would unsettle anyone. He never divulged that story to anybody else to the best of my knowledge." What is clear, however, is that Wilson, who drowned in 1983, could never fully shake the dark memories of his time with Manson and the role he inadvertently played in the carnage that he and his followers unleashed on Los Angeles. "Dennis carried that guilt with him," says Love, "for the last 14 years of his life." (People)
Chris Brown's alleged victim is speaking out following the singer's arrest on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. The singer was involved in a nine-hour standoff of sorts with the Los Angeles Police Department at his L.A. mansion after a woman ran out of the house screaming in the early morning hours on Tuesday. Speaking to Extra after the event, Baylee Curran, a model, claims she has witnesses who can back up her story and also delivered a message to Brown. Curran claims that she was admiring some diamonds at Brown's house when a man started shouting at her to get away from them. "Chris came in, pulled out his gun and said, 'I'm getting so sick of you people,' pointed the gun at me, (and told me) to get the f---- out of the house," she claimed. Curran then claims that she was asked to sign a nondisclosure agreement before handing back her phone, but instead made a run for it. "I fled down his driveway," she said. "I went to the left side of the street, went up a couple houses, was running. That's when the neighbors heard the commotion and saw me out there and then called the police, and that is when I then called the police." LAPD police officer Tony Im told PEOPLE that officers responded to a radio call of a female screaming at 3:11 a.m. Curran told Extra that before police arrived, she "saw a black jeep come down from Chris's driveway toward where I was, where the neighbor was. I went underneath the nearest vehicle... there I was, literally crawled underneath the car... hid behind the tires, and the jeep came up to the area of that vehicle, turned around and went back up the driveway." The model - who insists that she's not speaking out for publicity - also gave a message to Brown in her interview: "I would say to Chris, be the good person that I know you are. He knows what he has done... I would say, just come out with the truth, because I'm sure it will come out one day anyway." (People)
The woman claiming Chris Brown pulled a gun on her is wanted in NYC for questioning in connection with criminal theft ... for allegedly stealing a fancy designer purse at a swanky hotel. The incident could be significant in the Chris Brown case, because alleged victim Baylee Curran claims a certain piece of jewelry that caught her eye triggered the events that led to her 911 call. Baylee was vacationing with a few friends at The Plaza back in 2013 when they began arguing in the hotel. According to police docs, Baylee snatched a $1,000 Louis Vuitton purse from one of the girls and ran out of the hotel. The purse contained $200 in cash, as well as credit cards and a Michael Kors wallet. Security chased Baylee, who allegedly dropped the purse but somehow fled with the contents. By the time cops arrived Baylee was long gone. There's a warrant of sorts -- it's called an I-Card -- which will allow NYPD cops to pick her up and take her to the station for questioning, if they find her in the city. Apparently, the incident was bad enough that the alleged purse-snatching victim got a restraining order against Baylee from an L.A. judge. Baylee's rep tells TMZ she had no idea New York City cops wanted her for questioning. She also claims her friend was the thief ... not her. TMZ broke the story ... Baylee called 911 and accused Chris of pulling a gun on her when she says all she was doing was admiring some jewelry. (TMZ)
Chris Brown Released From Jail After Posting $250,000 Bail. Chris Brown is out on bail. After Baylee Curran claimed the singer had threatened her with a gun, Brown was arrested Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. He was released from jail later that night after posting $250,000 bail, according to Los Angeles County jail records. "Thanks to everyone for their support and well wishes," Brown's attorney, Mark Geragos, tweeted. "Chris is out and well. The allegations against him are demonstrably false #TeamBreezy." Upon his release, Brown shared a screenshot of Geragos' tweet via Instagram. He also shared a video previously posted by Ray J, who was at Brown's house at the time of the alleged incident. "Yo, this Ray J. Check it out. I'm real upset about today. I'm not happy with how things are handled and how people can take a false story and blow it up into something way more than what it should be," the R&B singer, 35, said of Brown, 27. "You got just positive people around and you look outside and it's like a war zone for no reason for somebody, some stranger said about something that don't got nothing to do with nothing. And to react like that so fast without really knowing the facts and knowing what's up ain't cool, and you know, it's just not right. It shouldn't be like this. I support the homie Chris and I support the whole movement. I'm here, and again, man, this s--t has to change. It can't be like this every time somebody yippin' and yappin' to get an extra buck. You know it turns around and it's all back on us. Ain't cool." Brown also deleted the Instagram videos he published Tuesday afternoon as news helicopters circled his home and camera crews gathered at the bottom of his hilltop estate in Tarzana. He remained holed up inside his home during a standoff with police, which lasted nearly 14 hours. During that time, Brown complained about Curran and the cops in the aforementioned videos. "So I'm sleep half the damn night. I just wake up and all these mother--king helicopter, choppers is around. Police out there at the gate. C'mon, my n---a! What the fuck else do y'all want from me, bro? I stay out of the way take care of my daughter, do work! I don't even f--k ugly bitches, trifling bitches, whatever the f--k it is. I'm not on that bro. I'm way too tired to be dealing with this bulls--t," he said in another clip. "Y'all, every three months you get tired of me right? You gotta be. Every three months y'all come up with something, bro. What is it? What's going to be next? Imma fart an elephant? C'mon, my n---a. But at the same time when I call the police for stalker people that are endangering my life they don't come till the next day, let somebody make a f--ked up allegation about me, and oh! You get a whole f--king SWAT team. My n---a, I'm innocent. F--k everybody in this s--t." In another expletive-laden Instagram video that has since been deleted, the "Grass Ain't Greener" singer ranted, "I don't give a f--k. I'm not running for politics. I don't give f--k if I get personal opinion; all y'all can suck a fart out my ass for all I care. What I do care about is y'all defacing my name as a person and my character and my integrity. I am father. I am one of the best entertainers out here without bragging and saying woe is me I don't get enough credit. All y'all n---as know I am your daddy, n---a. So at the end of the day, I'm tired of this s -- t. I'm up at 6, 7 something in the morning talking this s--t for something I didn't do. How would you feel?" "F--k this fame s--t. I'm a real n---a," Brown added. "F--k y'all." Curran, a 24-year-old model and former beauty queen, shared her side of the story with E! News Tuesday. Around 2:40 a.m., she recalled, "I went into the backyard just for a little bit, and then I came back in and there was a man selling diamond watches and necklaces." As she was admiring one item in particular -- a diamond cross necklace -- one of Brown's friends freaked out. "I did not pick it up. I did not touch it, take it, or grab it -- anything to that sort. That's when Chris Brown's friend -- or I don't know who that was, a guy with dreads -- kind of came after me and was nudging me out saying, "Get out! Don't touch the jewelry.' He was calling me names and that's when Chris Brown kind of went off, pulled out his gun, and said, 'Get the f--k out!'" "He was saying, 'Get the f--k out! Haven't I told you guys enough?'" Curran said, adding that he was "kind of threatening me with the gun, like if I didn't get out, he's going to shoot me with it." Curran, who said she'd "hung out" with Brown "several times before," admitted to E! News she was "scared" for her life in that moment. Brown has not commented further on her allegations. (Eonline)

Gene Wilder's passing at the age of 83 from complications with Alzheimer's disease was a surprise to many-and that's how the iconic actor wanted it. Wilder hid his health struggles from the public and kept a low-key lifestyle in recent years, seldom being seen in public. But before his diagnosis three years ago, Wilder's nephew, Jordan Walker-Pearlman, tells PEOPLE the actor "was living an idyllic life" in Connecticut and California. He spent his days playing tennis, writing and painting with his wife of almost 25 years Karen Boyer, a speech consultant he met while doing research for the 1989 film See No Evil, Hear No Evil. "He would read the newspaper every morning and his personal life was fuller and richer in the last 25 years then it had ever been before," says Walker-Pearlman. Yet, in recent years his health began to deteriorate and the signs of Alzheimer's became more apparent. "The diagnosis was slow in coming but the symptoms were not," says Walker-Pearlman who adds he is grateful that despite the terrible disease his uncle "always recognized the people he loved and never changed his core personality. In that sense we were lucky." Wilder choose to keep the diagnosis a secret from the public only telling a close circle of friends and family. He said the main reason for this decision was his young fans. "We would go out and kids would light up when they saw him," says Walker-Pearlman. "He didn't want to bear any responsibility for taking away that light or the smiles. He knew there would be a parent, with the best of intentions, who would whisper something to their spouse and cause that child to feel less joy than they did when they first saw him." In September 2015, fans raised concerns about the actor's health when he appeared at the U.S. Open Grand Slam tennis tournament with Boyer. Although he smiled as he entered the athletic event, his frail appearance and thin white hair led some media outlets to speculate that Wilder's non-Hodgkin's lymphoma had returned, according to Page Six. The actor had been diagnosed with the cancer in 1997, but he told CNN in 2002 that he was in complete remission. In 2014, Wilder appeared at a screening celebrating the 40th anniversary of his satirical comedy Blazing Saddles near his home in Stamford, Connecticut. According to the Stamford Advocate, Wilder was glad to hear the crowd's laughter during the film. The actor was also in high spirits when he attended his nephew's wedding in April 2015. Wilder and his wife hosted the rehearsal dinner and even gave a speech. "He danced down the aisle of my church and had this burst of energy," says Walker-Pearlman. And because the disease had already begun to take its toll, Wilder did not recognize all of the guests, many he had known for some years, but that did stop him from being his usual friendly self. "When people would say hi to him, he wouldn't always remember their name or face but he knew to give them energy and light," says Walker-Pearlman. "He was an artist and he always knew how to perform and make people feel inspired and comfortable." Walker-Pearlman described Wilder's last moments as peaceful, he was surrounded by family as one of his favorite songs played. "He was eighty-three and passed holding our hands with the same tenderness and love he exhibited as long as I can remember. As our hands clutched and he performed one last breath, the music speaker, which was set to random, began to blare out one of his favorites: Ella Fitzgerald," he said in a statement. "There is a picture of he and Ella meeting at a London Bistro some years ago that are among each or cherished possessions. She was singing 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow,' as he was taken away." THE OTHER STUFF . . .
Selena Quintanilla's Family Unveils Wax Figure at Madame Tussauds. Anything for Selenas! Hundreds of fans gathered to join the Quintanilla family as they unveiled Selena Quintanilla's wax figure, 21 years after her death, at Madame Tussauds in Hollywood. Selena's sister Suzette Quintanilla said that the family had been working with the museum since October to create the figure and design the signature look. While she admitted that they also considered Selena's Grammy dress as an option, they decided to go with the black and purple look that celebrates her concert performance recorded for the album Selena Live!, which won the GRAMMY Award for Best Mexican/American Album in 1994. The figure, valued at approximately $350,000, sports the recreated stage look from the concert held at Memorial Coliseum in Corpus Christi, Texas, on Feb. 7, 1993. The late singer's brother A.B. Quintanilla explained the story behind the recreated look's top. He said that Selena always waited until the last minute to finish her stage looks, and once she began gluing the stones on this top, she realized she didn't have enough to fully cover both sides. That's when she decided to create a design on the other side with the remaining stones. "At Madame Tussauds, our figures represent icons who have made a significant impact on our culture. That perfectly describes Selena. Her influence has transcended generations, and her passionate fans continue to be inspired by her to this day. We recognize this and in response, we are proud to join her fans in celebrating her legacy by immortalizing her," said Colin Thomas, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Hollywood. Selena's widower, Chris Perez, also took the stage with the family. "On behalf of our family, we would like to express a huge amount of gratitude to Madame Tussauds in creating such an amazing lifelike wax figure of our beloved Selena. This is yet another step in making sure that her legacy lives on and that her fans new and old can appreciate her as a person, an artist and one whom we can all identify with," said Selena's sister. As of today, fans will be able to take photos with the figure at the museum. (Eonline)

She's fronted campaigns for 18 brands, including L'Oreal and Swarovski, in the past 12 months so it's no wonder she's had such a lucrative year. Gigi Hadid also had a very successful 12 months, ranking at number five with $9 million (£6.84 million). She came ahead of Cara Delevingne, Kate Moss and Alessandra Ambrosio. (British Glamour)
Less than a month after having a baby girl, Bar Refaeli was back in her bikini. On Monday, the 31-year-old supermodel shared a cheeky photo of her swimming in a black, string swimsuit. "Crystal clear," she captioned the black bikini photo. On Aug. 11, Refaeli and husband Adi Ezra welcomed a seven-pound baby girl, Liv, into their family. While this is the first bikini photo we've seen of Refaeli since she gave birth, she didn't shy away from sporting a swimsuit while she was pregnant. "You can come out now ... I'm ready. And heavy," she captioned a two-piece pic of herself just days before going into labor. She also shared a meditative image of herself in a bikini top, with her former baby bump on display. "Let it wash over me I'm ready to lose my feet. Take me off to the place where one reveals life's mystery," she wrote. "Steady on down the line Lose every sense of time Take it all in and wake up that small part of me Day to day I'm blind to see And find how far To go." Prior to adding to her family, Refaeli -- who dated Leonardo DiCaprio for a few years -- admitted that she's looking to have a rather large brood. "I think this will be a decade of family. I come from a family of four children," she told Hello! Fashion Monthly. "Hopefully, I'll have a big family, but I'll take it one by one." (Page Six)
Miranda Kerr has finally commented on those nude photos. According to the model, Orlando Bloom gave his ex-wife and the mother of his child a heads up that his now-infamous paddle boarding pics were going to be released. "Oh my god, he texted me and he was like, 'Um, I'm really embarrassed. Some photos are coming out. Just thought I should let you know,'" Kerr, 33, told KIIS FM's Kyle and Jackie O on Tuesday. "And I was like, 'Hmm... right, what were you thinking? Seriously, what were you thinking?'" she recalled her response. In early August, naked pictures of the 39-year-old British actor vacationing in Italy with girlfriend Katy Perry leaked online, setting the internet aflame. Kerr, who was on the radio show to promote a new swimwear campaign, jokingly said she would send Bloom some pieces from the collection for future use. The parents to 5-year-old Flynn divorced in 2013 after three years of marriage. Kerr announced her engagement to Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel in July. (People)
Vera Wang had a busy bridal summer. The designer spoke to us on opening night of the US Open in Queens. "I did Hannah Davis and I did Kevin Hart's wife's dresses," she said. "All the girls do two dresses now .?.?. one for the ceremony and one for the party .?.?. Hannah, Derek Jeter's bride wanted something rather conservative," Wang said. "But she wanted a sexier party dress. And Kevin's wife wanted very sexy for the wedding and more conservative for the party." (Page Six)
Tyga reunited with his old pal the repo man, who made off with the rapper's Ferrari at perhaps the most embarrassing time possible ... right in front of Kylie Jenner. We're told Tyga hopped in his fancy red sports car Tuesday with Kylie and drove to the Bentley dealership in Calabasas. Little did he know that while they were checking out new whips ... his current one was about to get swiped. Sources on the lot tell us the repo man showed up armed with a spare key for the Ferrari, jumped in, started it up and headed down the nearest freeway. We're told Tyga missed a couple of his lease payments, and the lessor wasn't taking any chances. Don't worry, Kylie and Tyga got a ride home from one of his homies. (TMZ)
Kanye West still has a lot on his mind after his famous VMAs speech ... like why the hell is Ray J so pissed?! We got Yeezy leaving The Mercer Hotel in NYC, and he says he can't understand why people are getting mad about him shouting out to Ray J. After all, they're all in the same bed together in his "Famous" vid. Our photog also asked Kanye if there was anything at the VMAs he wanted to say but couldn't, and he did not disappoint ... with some ideas on how his school uniforms can save the world. (TMZ)
Kim, Kanye and North felt the need ... for sweets, and lots of 'em based on how much they forked out during a candy shopping spree. The fam hit up the Dylan's Candy Bar flagship store Monday, and sources tell us they whipped out 2 Benjs for lollipops, Push Pops and Gobstoppers. They also stocked up on sour goods like Sour Skittles, Rainbow Nerds Rope, Trolli Gummy Peachie-O's and Sour Octopus. Zero Sour Patch Kids though. Big mistake. Huge. Mom and Dad also scooped up a cupcake pillow and temporary tatts for North -- but a new toothbrush and floss might've been more appropriate. (TMZ)
Talk about a good investment! In her upcoming memoir Sorry Not Sorry, Naya Rivera opens up about getting a boob job when she turned 18! The former Glee star was so excited about her new implants, she even told her teachers! Isn't that kind of awkward?! The 29-year-old wrote: "I went around to all my teachers, told them I was going to be out. 'I'm getting plastic surgery!' I'd tell them gleefully... My art teacher was stoked-when I told her she said that she too had fake tits and that she was very excited for me."' But don't get it twisted. The Cali-native didn't go under the knife because she wanted more male attention; she did it for her own self-esteem. "My new boobs were a confidence thing, not a sexual thing... I'd never even taken my top off for a guy. I hadn't had many opportunities to do so, but even if I had, my bra was always stuffed with napkins." Whether she liked it or not, her male classmates definitely noticed her change, and they liked what they saw! "As soon as I went back to school, [the boys] all practically fell over themselves rushing to see who could hold the door open for me." Even though plastic surgery is a controversial topic in Hollywood, Naya has absolutely no regrets. "People have a lot of opinions about plastic surgery, but more than ten years after I got my boobs, they still make me happy when I look in the mirror. It might have even been the best $8K I've ever spent." You can pick up Miz Rivera's memoir on September 13! (Perez Hilton)

Could the Grammy Awards come back to New York? There's a secret campaign to lure the marquee music event back to the Big Apple to celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2018. The commissioner of the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment, Julie Menin, is spearheading the bid with music manager Irving Azoff, who has represented artists including Christina Aguilera, the Eagles and Jon Bon Jovi. They plan to persuade the Recording Academy to move music's biggest night to NYC after 13 years at the Staples Center in downtown LA. It's hoped that Madison Square Garden would host the February 2018 Grammys, but that is dependent on if the Knicks and the Rangers are both playing on the road. A source with knowledge of New York's bid told Page Six, "It would mean a lot to New York to get the Grammys back. The economic benefit to the city could be in the range of $200 million, because it's not just the telecast, the Grammys bring a whole week of events, including Clive Davis' big party." The awards show would be more expensive to host in New York because of labor costs, but we're told that, "Menin's office is focused on getting the Grammys back to New York, and is putting together a compelling case, as well as extra sponsors to offset the cost. They believe the academy should do something special for the big anniversary. New York is America's capital of music and so many of the major artists are passionate about, and live in, NYC." Talks have started with MSG, but NBA and NHL schedules could be a stumbling block. It is believed the Grammy organizers could need the venue for more than two weeks for setup, rehearsals and breakdown. The last time NYC hosted the Grammys at MSG was in 2003. The bash has also been held numerous times at Radio City Music Hall. Meanwhile, the first ceremony in 1959 was held simultaneously in LA and NYC, and Frank Sinatra swept the board. Menin, MSG and Azoff didn't comment on Tuesday. (Page Six)
Selena Gomez needs a break before she has a breakdown. "As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have lupus. I've discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges," the singer told People in a statement Tuesday. "I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off." The 24-year-old has been on her Revival World Tour for almost four months now, but says she needs to face what she's dealing with "head-on to ensure I am doing everything possible to be my best." Her tour was slated to run through December 18, and she hasn't gone into detail about whether the dates will be rescheduled. Her tour kicked off on May 6 in Las Vegas. Kenneth M. Farber, the co-CEO and co-president of the Lupus Research Alliance, told People that, "it is not commonly known that depression, anxiety and panic attacks can be side effects of lupus. We are so proud of Selena for taking care of herself and bringing awareness to this sometimes very misunderstood illness." (Page Six)
Grace VanderWaal Impresses with Another Original on 'America's Got Talent'. Grace VanderWaal continued her ascent on America's Got Talent with the premiere of yet another original song on Tuesday night's (Aug. 30) semi-finals. Beginning a capella, the 12-year old singer busted out her ukulele and performed "Light the Sky," a simple song that showed off the rasp in her voice. Accompanied by a cellist and a percussionist, VanderWaal sang the song's uplifting lyrics -- "I can't stop dancing like no one's around/And yeah, I think we were born to shine." "You are the real deal," said Judge Heidi Klum, who predicted VanderWaal will sail straight to the finals. Judge Simon Cowell called her the "new generation" while Howie Mandel gushed, "you can win this." America's Got Talent airs Aug. 31 on NBC. (Billboard)
Iman Shumpert Releases 'Glory' Rap Following Cameo in Kanye West's 'Fade'. Shooting guards know that you have to hit while your hand is hot, which is why it makes perfect sense that Cleveland Cavaliers forward Iman Shumpert dropped a new single, "Glory," on Tuesday, just days after his surprise cameo in Kanye West's "Fade" video. Shumpert, who has a child with "Fade" star fiance Teyana Taylor, prominently samples the hook of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' "Heads Will Roll" on the four-minute trap track. "Ya'll gonna pay for my struggle/ People love a true story," he spits at the open. "But people want you to suffer/ Cuz they ain't never been in your glory/ They ain't never had no money/ They can't understand no shoppin'." The track touches on material things (buying land and his kicks, which apparently are harder to get than his... lady friend), the fleeting nature of fame and the importance of tucking your chains. Shumpert, who released a six-track mixtape (Shumpman: The MD) in January, hits his best line about halfway through when he makes a winking Game of Thrones admission: "I'm obnoxious and I know it/ I go King Joffrey and they know it/ Watch these people head roll." Last year Shumpert also hit the studio to record his own version of Drake's "Hotline Bling," switching it up as "Highlight Reel." (Billboard)
Tracy Morgan to Honor Smokey Robinson at Little Kids Rock Benefit. Robinson will receive the "Rocker of the Year" honor at the eighth annual benefit on Oct. 5. A legend of the comedy world will salute an icon of the music realm this fall when Tracy Morgan presents Smokey Robinson with the "Rocker of the Year" honor at the eighth annual Little Kids Rock benefit on Oct. 5 in Manhattan. For Morgan, Robinson's music goes back to the very beginning. The Saturday Night Live/30 Rock alum once informed reporters that his mother told him he was conceived while a Smokey Robinson song played on the radio. Another veteran comedian, Tom Papa, will emcee the benefit/concert/auction. All the proceeds from the evening help Little Kids Rock bring instruments and free lessons to more than 250,000 disadvantaged public school kids in 30 cities. Last year's benefit -- which featured performances from Rocker of the Year Steve Miller, Graham Nash, Paul Shaffer, Jake Clemons, Pentatonix's Kirstin Maldonado (duetting with kids' a cappella group Sharkapella) and special guest David Letterman -- helped raise more than $1 million for underfunded public school kids. Beats Wins Case Alleging Double Dealing Before $3 Billion Apple Sale. A judge has dismissed the key claims in a lawsuit alleging that headphone maker Beats Electronics duped one of its early partners before negotiating its $3 billion sale to Apple two years ago. The summary judgment issued late Monday by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge William Fahey resolves the heart of a case that accused Beats co-founders Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine of double-crossing former partner Noel Lee, founder of video and audio cable maker Monster LLC. The allegations, made in a lawsuit filed last year, had been scheduled to go to trial next week. Now the trial will be limited to Beats' effort to force Monster to pay its attorney fees and other costs. Apple declined to comment on the ruling, but Beats has always maintained Monster's lawsuit was frivolous. Monster attorney Philip Gregory didn't respond to requests for comment. Lee once held a 5 percent stake in Beats as part of a partnership between the headphone maker and Monster that ended in 2012. The lawsuit alleged Dre, a former rap singer whose real name is Andre Young, and Iovine, a former record producer, orchestrated a "sham" deal with smartphone maker HTC in 2011 that led to the termination of the Monster alliance. But Fahey concluded that Beats' actions were allowed under the contracts that Lee and Monster had entered into as sophisticated investors. The lawsuit had alleged Beats' misrepresentations had caused Lee to sell his remaining 1.25 percent stake for $5.5 million in 2013. That would have been worth more than $30 million had he owned it at the time of Beat's sale to Apple Inc. Lee's original stake would have landed him roughly $150 million. Fahey also dismissed Monster's claims alleging misconduct by HTC America and Paul Wachter, a Beats investor and board member. (Billboard)
Blind Melon Sues "Insane" Songwriters for Covering Up 'No Rain' Infringement. According to a lawsuit launched on Tuesday, "This is a somewhat unique case where substantial and verbatim copying is not disputed." If you get the feeling there's been a lot of song theft lawsuits lately, you're not alone. But hold onto your umbrellas and take cover for a rather quirky copyright infringement case. This one comes from members of the rock band Blind Melon, best known for their 1993 mega-hit song "No Rain," who in California federal court are now suing Mandy Jiroux and others involved in the creation and publishing of a catchy tune titled "Insane." According to the complaint, this is "a somewhat unique case where substantial and verbatim copying is not disputed, but Defendants will claim that they had a license to incorporate substantial portions of Blind Melon's most successful song 'No Rain' into the Infringing Works." Before moving any further, it's worth listening to the defendants' song to appreciate why it's unlikely that defendants will dispute they copied "No Rain." (Check out at least the first minute, though even the first five seconds will do.) Hearing the work also sets up the next chapter ... Perhaps from this, one can understand why some of the earliest discussions -- and confusion -- between the parties had to do with whether "Insane" was a cover version of "No Rain." The law permits covers by allowing the songwriters of new works to obtain a compulsory license to a copyrighted composition. According to the lawsuit, Jiroux's manager Kenneth Komisar got in contact with Blind Melon's manager Keith Isola in May and first reported that his client had created a "No Rain" cover. Komisar still wanted approval. So Isola got in contact with Brad Smith, the guitarist in Blind Melon who owned a controlling interest in the song. "Smith, having not yet heard the Infringing Works, believed the new work (also then entitled 'No Rain') was simply a cover, and thus responded that Jiroux did not need permission to simply 'cover' the work so long as it was properly registered with the publisher," states the complaint. But was it really a cover? Section 115(a)(2) of the U.S. Copyright Act only allows for a compulsory license when the "basic melody or fundamental character of the work" isn't changed. As one can hear from "Insane," there's new lyrics, a beat, and of course, a different title. After further analysis, Blind Melon (Smith, Christopher Thorn, Glen Graham and Roger Stevens, but not the late lead vocalist Shannon Hoon) came to the conclusion that "Insane" was a "derivative," not a cover. They chose not to license, not to take co-writer credits, not to collect a split of the publishing money. The lawsuit alleges that Komisar was informed of this, but that he ignored it, emailing a final master mix a month later and proposing terms of exploitation. In late June, Komisar, Isola and a royalty administrator for Blind Melon had a conference call to discuss whether Jiroux had permission to use "No Rain," the complaint further alleges. The reps for the band told Komisar that Smith was "not inclined" to license the song at this time. The band was concerned that the value of its '90s hit would be affected by conferring it to a relatively unknown artist. What followed over the next few weeks was allegedly further efforts by Komisar to act as if his client was getting Blind Melon's "support" only to be repeatedly told otherwise. It culminated with Komisar stating in a letter that he found all this to be "surprising," attaching some of the most early email dialogue between the parties. Now, "Insane" has been released, and in media interviews, Jiroux has crowed about the alleged permission she got. For example, check out how Jiroux described the genesis of "Insane" to iHeartRadio. "I was in the studio with one of my producers, and we were thinking of what we could do that's super cool and different, and single material," she said. "So, he picked up a guitar and just played that classic 'No Rain' guitar riff, and I was like, 'Oh, my gosh, I love that song.' Everyone else in the studio felt the same, and then I just kind of said where I think we should take it, and, hopefully the Blind Melon guys would let us use it. And it turned out that they loved the song so much I'm the only artist that they've ever let use that classic hook. It was super natural, super easy and that's when you know it's right." Blind Melon obviously is telling a much, much different tale and now suing her for willful infringement. Represented by attorneys Richard Busch and Paul Duvall at King & Ballow, the band is seeking a permanent injunction, defendant's profits and actual damages tied to the alleged injury to the market value of "No Rain." "This publicity and unauthorized use has done significant damage to 'No Rain' and has severely damaged the copyright, by now essentially eliminating any prospect that a major artist will actually license it for a major release," states the complaint. The defendants (whose response we'll add if any is provided) may have a different version of events from the last few months to support any contention of actually having a license. Maybe they'll attempt to argue that no explicit permission was necessary because they added new purpose and meaning (as a copyright fair use). But perhaps they'll return to their original assertion of having covered "No Rain." If so, it would set up an extraordinary dynamic where the plaintiffs in a copyright lawsuit would be highlighting the differences between the two songs while the defendants stress the similarities. For now, it appears as though the litigation is going to delve into covers, derivatives and those in the songwriting business talking past each other. Watch the puddles gather rain. Here's Blind Melon's original version, followed by a copy of the complaint the band's members filed in court. Their attorney, Busch, is the same one who represented the Marvin Gaye family in the "Blurred Lines" case. (Hollywood Reporter)

Kelly Le Brock Recalls Her Last Encounter With Gene Wilder. The actress tells THR of reconnecting with her 'Woman in Red' co-star during a flight to Bermuda. Kelly Le Brock was boarding a flight to Bermuda about four years ago when she ran into an old friend: Gene Wilder. "I hadn't seen Gene in a thousand years," the 56-year-old actress remembers of her last encounter with Wilder, whom she starred with in The Woman in Red. "But there he was in the last row of first class. He looked so fragile! We both started crying. I held his hand and told him how much I loved him." The two-time Oscar nominee and comic actor of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, The Producers and Blazing Saddles fame died Sunday night in his home in Stamford, Conn., after a three-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was 83. In the 30-plus years since Wilder cast Le Brock in her first film role as the mysterious beauty Wilder's character pursues in 1984 romantic farce Woman in Red, the two had remained friends, visiting each other's homes and keeping in touch over the phone. "He was very different off-screen," Le Brock tells The Hollywood Reporter. "He was the funny man on-screen but in reality, he wasn't funny. He was very quiet and kind of shy. He'd get very demonstrative telling a story -- that's when you'd see him come alive." She continued: "But the Gene that I knew and that I loved was quiet. He loved his meals and his wine. He loved Europe. He loved writing. He was happy being in Connecticut in the house that he and Gilda [Radner, his late wife] lived in. But he was bitter in some places, certainly. About his childhood, about losing Gilda. I think he would have liked to have had children with Gilda. They tried very hard. That was a source of sadness." Le Brock spoke to Wilder on the phone about a year ago -- "and we would email, as well," she says -- but it was on that flight to Bermuda in 2012 that she would last see her friend and hold his hand. "Believe it or not," she says, "that plane got struck by lightning. I watched the left wing on fire. I thought we were all going down." (Hollywood Reporter)

Sherlock Season 4 Photo Reveals a Very Stylish Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. Sherlock's looking fresh to death in season four. Masterpiece and PBS have released the first photo of Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman as Sherlock Holmes and John Watson, respectively, and they're looking slick. Just look at that plaid shirt buttoned all the way up on Watson and that slicked back hair. Watson is looking... dare we say, a bit hipster? And then there's Sherlock. Just look at him. Season four is in production and poised to premiere in 2017. Moriarty is back (yes, you're allowed to rejoice over that) and it's "really dark," Amanda Abbington teased at San Diego Comic-Con. A new trailer for the fourth season was also revealed. But is this the end of Sherlock? Maybe. Probably not. Who knows? "I don't know how long we can keep it going. I'm personally willing but I'm hardly the main draw," co-creator, writer and executive producer Steven Moffant told The Telegraph. "I would be moderately surprised if this was the last time we ever made this show. But it absolutely could be." Cumberbatch and Freeman are in high demand, but that hasn't stopped them from coming together for the fourth season. "That's why I think it's unlikely that we've completely finished it. There would be nothing strange in stopping for a while," Moffat said. "It could go on forever, coming back now and again." Season four will see Freeman's Watson preparing for fatherhood. Hipster dad Waston?! "Sherlock series four -- here we go again! Whatever else we do, wherever we all go, all roads lead back to Baker Street, and it always feels like coming home," Moffat said in a statement when production commenced in April. "Ghosts of the past are rising in the lives of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson and terror and tragedy are looming. This is the story we've been telling from the beginning and it's about to reach its climax." Look the return of Sherlock in 2017. (Eonline)
Stranger Things Renewed for Season 2 by Netflix. Get ready to go back to the Upside Down because Stranger Things is returning for a second season on Netflix. The first installment was eight episodes and starred Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, a single mom of two who goes to extreme lengths after her youngest son, Will (Noah Schnapp), goes missing. His disappearance and the appearance of a mysterious girl, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) trigger set off the events of the sci-fi series that has captivated audiences since its debut on Friday, July 15. Season two will be set in 1984 and consist of nine episodes with a 2017 debut. The first season cast also included David Harbour as Jim Hopper, the police chief of Hawkins, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas, Finn Wolfhard as Mike, Natalia Dyer as Nancy, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan, Cara Buono as Karen, Matthew Modine as Dr. Brenner and Joe Kerry as Steve. Stranger Things hails from Matt and Ross Duffer. The brothers discussed second season ideas at the 2016 TCA Summer Press Tour. "We wanted to feel like a big movie, so we wanted to solve that main tension of where Will went and what happened to him," Matt told press earlier this summer. "But then there's the bigger mythology behind what happened, so there's definitely a lot of dangling threads at the end... if people wanted it and Netflix wanted it, we could explore it and continue the storyline." The brothers will return for the second season. In an interview with EW, the Duffer brothers teased several key season two details, noting it's not going to be an anthology and the new season will still be about the people of Hawkins, Indiana. There was debate about jumping around in time, but instead the second season will take place a year after the first. While no official cast was announced, you can expect the return of Ryder, Wolfhard, Matarazzo and the rest of the gang...but maybe not Brown's Eleven. Yes, you read that right. "We don't know about Eleven," Ross Duffer told EW. "We leave that up in the air." How. Dare. They. The second season will also include four new characters and "interesting dynamics," a return to the Upside Down, scenes outside Hawkins and some James Cameron influence. Why the delay in renewal? Netflix boss Ted Sarandos told press at this summer's TCA that they "always want to take some time to be thoughtful about the process." "When we first come out of the gate with something, we usually have a pretty good idea of where it's going to go, but it's sensible for us to take a little bit of time and let the show breathe. And with so many really falling in love with season one, and people who haven't really seen episodes of season one just yet, let's focus on season one right now," he said. Stranger Things was Ryder's first series regular role. "This is my first series actually and it was great... It was a different kind of role for me," she told E! News at the show's premiere. "I've never done this genre... As you get older as an actress you want to try different things. You don't want to keep repeating yourself. I'm 44, so it was nice to play my own age." (Eonline)
Meet Your New Bachelor: Nick Viall?! Fourth time's the charm?! Nick Viall, star of two seasons of The Bachelorette and this season of Bachelor in Paradise, has been revealed as the new Bachelor. The news was announced live on the night's After Paradise, by hosts Michelle Collins and Sean Lowe, and the 35 year-old software salesman was on hand to sound off on his new journey. "I'm very excited," he confessed, but still, "I'm more nervous!" It's safe to say this seemingly came out of the blue, but obviously Viall has known for a while. "I don't know if anything really prepares you for it," Viall said of the nerves and emotions he was feeling ahead of the official announcement. But still, he's prepared. "Honestly, I think I'm definitely ready for it. I'm very excited. I've had an interesting journey throughout this process." One thing you're probably wondering: What the heck happens with Jen, a.k.a. the woman he's dating on Bachelor in Paradise? "Obviously we don't end up together," he revealed, but you'll have to tune in to the finale next week to find out how it ends. So, what's he looking for in a woman? "I've always liked confidence," he said. "Someone who makes me a better person and challenges me." After weeks of speculation that it was either Luke Pell or Chase McNary, this reveal comes as quite the shock for fans of the franchise, who are used to Bachelors being picked from the last season of The Bachelorette. Khloe Kardashian Agrees to Invite Blac Chyna to Her Birthday Party Even Though Her & Rob Are ''Fighting.'' Khloe Kardashian is trying to "change the energy" within her family. On the mid-season finale of Keeping Up With the Kardashians this Sunday, Khloe invites Blac Chyna to her birthday party, even though Chyna and Rob Kardashian are "fighting." Khloe explains in the clip, "Obviously when Rob first told me about his relationship with Chyna... how I first found out it just wasn't on good terms. But I don't really know Chyna, I've never hung out with her one-on-one, I've never had her phone number, none of that and I want to change that." She continues, "I want to change the energy within the family, I want to make everything just happy and that we're all just accepting of one another." Since Khloe doesn't have her phone number, Kim Kardashian calls Chyna so Khloe can invite her to the party. "I am having a birthday party and I wanted you to know, I know you and Rob are kinda like fighting or whatever and I wanted you to know that if he doesn't want to come, you are still invited to come," Khloe tells Chyna. Tamron Hall has defended her "Today" colleagues Al Roker and Billy Bush concerning the Ryan Lochte debacle. Bush got the initial interview with the buff-but-not-bright swimmer that set off "Lochte-gate." The tall story, and the lack of skepticism about Lochte's account, infuriated Roker, who ranted on live TV, "He lied to you, he lied to Matt Lauer, he lied to his mom." But on Monday, arriving at the US Open in Flushing Meadows, Hall said only Lochte was to blame, "You know, he's paying his pound of flesh. Listen, Al Roker is one of the most sensible people you'll ever meet. He's raised two daughters and a son. And I love him, in that as jovial as he is, he's a straight shooter. He's a New Yorker, as they say." Defending Bush's original interview, she told Page Six, "I thought it was fantastic. He didn't go to the beach knowing he'd stumble into that interview. He was just saying, 'What's up?' .?.?. And then it turned into, 'Oh, by the way, this happened to me.' And he shot it with an iPhone." Lochte later blamed booze for the fake robbery claim. Hall sympathizes, "I won't name names. [But] I have interviewed people who perhaps didn't plan it well and maybe were inebriated." (Page Six)
Taylor Kitsch to Play David Koresh in Weinstein Co. Limited Series 'Waco. Michael Shannon will play lead FBI negotiator Gary Noesner, while Ludacris is being eyed to portray Branch Davidian member Wayne Martin. How's this for a true-crime story: Weinstein Television is prepping a star-studded take on the 1993 Waco, Texas, siege and the Branch Davidian standoff. Friday Night Lights grad Taylor Kitsch will star as Branch Davidian leader David Koresh in Waco, while Michael Shannon (Boardwalk Empire) is set as lead FBI negotiator Gary Noesner. Ludacris is being eyed to portray Branch Davidian member Wayne Martin. The limited TV series, which is currently in development, will be based on the harrowing true story of the 1993 FBI siege of the religious sect in Waco that resulted in a deadly shootout and fire. The 51-day standoff ended with an FBI assault on the compound, which was burned down and ultimately killed 76 people inside -- including Koresh. Brothers John Erick Dowdle and Drew Dowdle (No Escape) will pen the potential series, which does not yet have a network. John Erick Dowdle will direct the project, with both on board to exec produce alongside Shannon and Kitsch. The Weinstein Co. plans to take the series out to networks next month. The project is based on two biographies: A Place Called Waco, by Branch Davidian David Thibodeau -- who was one of the nine survivors of the April 19, 1993, fire; and Sinful Messiah, penned by FBI special agent in charge of negotiations Noesner. The event series will explore the true-life events leading up to and chronicling the 51-day siege between the FBI, ATF and Koresh's sect, the Branch Davidians. It will be told from several perspectives of those who were involved -- from both sides of the conflict. The Waco project would mark Kitsch's latest TV foray following True Detective and The Normal Heart. On the big screen, his credits include Battleship and John Carter. He is repped by CAA and Untitled. Shannon, who is with CAA, Wetzel Entertainment and Morris Yorn, counts features Man of Steel and Revolutionary Road among his credits. Ludacris, repped by CAA and Fox Rothschild, counts The Fast and the Furious franchise among his body of work. Harvey Weinstein, TWC co-head of production Jennifer Malloy and Megan Spanjian of Weinstein Television said in a statement: "We're thrilled to be collaborating with John and Drew again. This event series will explore the truth behind this tragedy and speaks directly to the heart of the current issues between citizens, law enforcement and the media. With the addition of dedicated and talented actors like Michael and Taylor, WACO will deliver on the promise of a sophisticated and harrowing expose that is sure to be appointment viewing TV." The Dowdle brothers (Quarantine) are with WME and Weintraub Tobin. The Waco series becomes the latest true-crime project to be developed for the small screen. The genre has become all the rage on broadcast, cable and streaming outlets following the success of HBO's The Jinx, Netflix's Making a Murderer and FX's The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story. On that note, there are four JonBenet Ramsey projects in the works as well as takes on Serial, Patty Hearst, the Menendez brothers, Chandra Levy and Robert Durst, among others. (Hollywood Reporter)

(Eonline)

Katt Williams laid a vicious "gang-style" attack on a fellow comedian and kidnapped her when she tried to escape ... so she claims in a new lawsuit. Ashima Franklin says Katt's abuse started with a hit to her face in 2012, and he crossed the line again with a 2 day terror campaign this year while they were touring together. According to the suit, obtained by TMZ, Katt bragged about having "million dollar bitches" ... then turned his rage on Ashima, saying ... "Why am I sitting here with this hillbilly, Alabama, backwoods ass three dollar p**** bitch?" The next day, Ashima says Katt and 2 women attacked her -- leaving her with a swollen face and injuries to her chest, arms and legs -- and Katt blocked her from leaving. She adds there was another incident where Katt threw piping hot food at her face, and asked why she thought she even had the right to eat. Ashima's suing for at least $3 million. We reached out to Katt, so far no word back. (TMZ)
"Dancing With the Stars" champ Nyle DiMarco is the newest member of the Las Vegas Chippendales squad, but he's already got the veteran dancers learning new moves ... with their hands. DiMarco's got a 3 and a half week gig with the bare-chested studs, where he'll be the first deaf Chippendales dancer ever. Pretty cool! Even cooler ... the vet Chippendales dancers are all learning sign language, which will be incorporated into the show. Nyle had his first costume fitting Monday with dancers Mikey Perez and James Davis, and while it involved more taking off than putting on, Mikey and James seem to have a hold on the new form of communication. Rob Kardashian Credits Blac Chyna for Getting Him Through His "Darkest Times": "I Missed Out on So Many Things." Rob Kardashian is back in the spotlight to stay -- thanks to his future wife. From the moment Blac Chyna commemorated "the beginning" of her unexpected relationship with the Kardashian sibling, the couple has amassed whirlwind national attention and speculation. More than seven months since the initial social media announcement, there's been an engagement and pregnancy for the pair as they gear up for the first season of their new reality show. "Chyna definitely motivates me," he told People. "Being with her got me over the insecurity of being out in public." Kardashian famously retreated from his famous family's spotlight for most of 2015, but reemerged as his surprise romance with Chyna blossomed in the New Year. "She got me through my darkest times," Rob told the magazine of the makeup mogul, who has stuck by his side as he's worked to lose weight and manage his diabetes diagnosis. "I wasn't happy in my own skin. I missed out on so many things." However, Chyna wants to set one record straight. "I never wanted to change him," she told the magazine. While the public may not have predicted their relationship today, Rob says their union has been a long time in the making. "I've been friends with Chyna for a long time," he said. "She was someone I reached out to for advice. She would cook for me and we'd just talk." Despite their initial friendship, Kardashian had hearts in his eyes from the beginning. "From the moment we met, I knew I wanted to be more than friends." With a wedding looming, a baby on the way and a diet in progress, Rob has plenty to look forward to. "There were definitely dark days for me, and I'm still not fully happy looking at myself in the mirror," he told the magazine. "But, I'm working towards that. And I'm happy." The new issue of People will on stands Friday. (Eonline)
Gabby Douglas is on the road to recovery. On Tuesday, the Olympic gold medalist revealed the diagnosis that caused her to miss Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards with her Final Five teammates. "Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know that I'm doing ok! I had a complication from a prior injury that caused a cyst to grow on a bone in my mouth," Douglas, 20, posted on Twitter. "Got it removed and feeling much better now! Thanks for all your concerns and prayers and HUGE thank you to the doctors that have taken care of me these last four days!" Unfortunately for Gabby, she must remove her wisdom teeth next. The gymnast first announced her medical condition on social media Sunday, revealing that she was out of the hospital and resting in New York City. However, Douglas' publicist told PEOPLE that she was returned to hospital again that same night for a serious infection. "Gabby is back in the hospital tonight being treated for a seriously infected past mouth injury," Douglas' publicist told PEOPLE. "She continues to have deep swelling and adverse reactions to medications." Later this week, Douglas has a scheduled appearance on Thursday's episode of The Late Late Show. (People)

Cruz Beckham stole all of our hearts earlier this year when a video of him singing went viral on Instagram, and now the Beckham offspring has reportedly started guitar lessons to help him gain a record deal. The 11 year-old was recently spotted carrying a guitar as he walked through the airport with his family sparking rumors that he is broadening his musical talents in order to get a record deal. According to The Sun, a source has said: "Cruz has a natural affinity with music and he's been desperate to learn the guitar. He's had lessons for months and is constantly strumming away, singing along." "Obviously he still has far to go, but there's certainly potential there. He's got a natural stage presence," continued the source. Cruz caught the eye of Justin Bieber's manager Scooter Braun when his mum, Victoria Beckham posted an adorable video of her son showing off his vocals for the first time in April. The Instagram video of the youngest Beckham boy singing his own version of hip hop classic 'Hopeful' by Twista and Faith Evan not only impressed Braun, but gained 3.2 million views. Since then, his dad David, has also shown support for his son's musical aspirations by posting cute videos of him singing and dancing on social media. Keep it up, Cruz! (British Glamour)
In totally unsurprising news, Gisele has been crowned the world's richest supermodel for the 14th year in a row. According to Forbes, the Brazilian beauty earned $30.5 (£23.1 million) million last year, thanks to advertising deals with fashion giants Chanel and Pantene, as well as her flip-flop, lingerie and skincare lines. Fellow Brazilian Adriana Lima came second, with yearly earnings of $10.5 million (£7.9 million), followed by Kendall Jenner who saw her pay check rise 150 percent to $10 million (£7.6 million) in 2016.
(People)

Nick made it to the final two of both Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe's seasons before having his heart brutally broken, and then went on to show up in this season of Bachelor in Paradise. The Bachelor typically makes its debut in January. (Eonline)
