On The Road With ADOT

Irvington Road ramp onto southbound I-19 in Tucson to close for five hours Wednesday

The on-ramp from Irvington Road onto southbound Interstate 19 will be closed for five hours on Wednesday, Dec. 21, while the Arizona Department of Transportation installs a traffic detection camera at the interchange on Tucson’s southwest side.

The ramp, as well as the right lane of eastbound Irvington Road, will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday for installation of the camera pole.

The work is part of the $41 million project to replace the traffic interchange at I-19 and Ajo Way (State Route 86).

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
