Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox Welcome Son Journey River. It's another boy for Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green! The couple reportedly welcomed their third child together, son Journey River Green, on Thursday, Aug. 4, according to E! News. He joins big brothers Noah Shannon, 31/2, and Bodhi Ransom, 2, as well as 14-year-old Kassius, Green's son from a previous relationship. Sources close to Fox, 30, and Green, 43, confirmed news of the actress' pregnancy in April. That same month, she stepped out at CinemaCon in Las Vegas to promote her new film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, sporting a visible baby bump. Though Fox filed for divorce from Green -- whom she has been with for more than 10 years -- in August 2015, sources close to Green insist they have called off their split. "Brian and Megan are living together in Malibu with their boys," a source told PEOPLE in July. "They have been getting along and seem very happy. They are just waiting for the baby to arrive." In April, Fox and Green were photographed holding hands on the beach during a family vacation in Hawaii, where they were married in 2010. They've also been spotted out together many times since, from celebrating Fox's 30th birthday to lunch dates out with their two older sons. In May, Fox joked to Jimmy Kimmel that she sensed her then-unborn son was a "super genius," in the same vein as engineers Elon Musk and Wernher von Braun. "This baby [wants] me to live somewhere else, so we're moving to a whole different place in Los Angeles because I feel like that's where this baby wants to be raised," Fox said at the time. (People)
Joey Fatone on 'N Sync's Reunion: "We Really Are Getting Old, Aren't We?" Yes, JC Chasez is 40 years old. And no, Joey Fatone can't believe it either. 'N Sync reunited for Chasez's milestone birthday at The Nice Guy in West Hollywood Sunday, where Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick and Justin Timberlake celebrated their former bandmate alongside a number of celebrity guests. "We kind of closed down the place," Fatone, 39, exclusively told E! News' Marc Malkin Monday at the premiere of Sausage Party (in theaters this Friday). "We had about 50 of his closest friends, and we had a great time. It was awesome." As E! News previously reported, musician Dallas Austin, actress Jessica Biel, actor Chace Crawford, pop star Luke Hemmings, reality star Brody Jenner, screenwriter Simon Kinberg, choreographer Spencer Liff, actress Tara Reid and director Bryan Singer also partied with Chasez. "The entire party was casual," a source said of the low-key, star-studded event. "The restaurant was rented out for JC's birthday. JC's manager, Eric Podwall, gave the first toast, followed by Justin giving a toast with Joey, Lance and Chris standing next to him while he spoke." 'N Sync didn't perform any of its mega hits, like "Tearin' Up My Heart" or "Bye Bye Bye." But, Fatone confirmed, "We sang 'Happy Birthday' to JC. That's what we did." Malkin joked that if they released their rendition of "Happy Birthday," it could be a huge hit for the pop stars. "I think with the intoxication and the alcohol, I definitely would have sounded like crap," Fatone joked. In 2011, Kirkpatrick became the first member of 'N Sync to turn 40. Bass, Fatone and Timberlake, meanwhile, are still in their 30s. "It's crazy," Fatone said. "We're all catching up." Rest assured, 'N Sync's youthful spirit hasn't disappeared. "Last night we felt like little kids," Fatone told E! News. "We were kind of reminiscing about stuff, but then all of a sudden it's like, 'Here's a picture of my two kids,' and Justin's like, 'Here's a picture of my little boy.' It's like, 'Oh, crap! We really are getting old, aren't we?' I never really feel it, though. That's the beauty of it." (Eonline)
This private school is too exclusive for Matt Damon's Kids. Hollywood heft doesn't get you far with Brooklyn's arty private schools, as Matt Damon is discovering. We're told Damon is moving his family back to New York after a stint in LA -- but has been summarily rebuffed by St. Ann's, one of the city's most exclusive schools. Insiders tell Page Six that the Brooklyn Heights school -- which boasts alumni including Lena Dunham, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Jemima Kirke and Zac Posen -- has told Damon that its classes for next year are fully booked. We're told the "Bourne" star was hoping that three of his daughters with wife Luciana Barroso -- Isabella, 10, Gia, 7, and Stella, 5 -- could join those of longtime Brooklynites Ethan Hawke and Maggie Gyllenhaal at the venerable institution. "They had a conversation with the school, but St. Ann's just won't bend the rules," said an insider. "They don't care [who the parents of its students are]. A lot of schools will bend the rules very happily; they'll bring celebrities' kids in midway through the year or do whatever they want. St. Ann's just isn't doing it." The school, with tuition that runs between $36,080 and $42,555 per year depending on the grade, offers classes from pre-K through high school and says on its website, "So that every child will flourish, we eschew grades, rankings and prizes in favor of ongoing dialogue and teacher reports." The move will be something of a homecoming for the family. When they upped sticks for the West Coast in 2013, Damon said on "Today" that it had been a tough decision to relocate. "Basically all of our friends with little kids are out there [in LA]," he said. "We're a little conflicted. We love it here, we're really happy here and New York will always be here. It might just turn out to be a little jaunt out there and then a return .?.?. It's hard to leave here." A rep for Damon didn't get back to us. (PageSix)
Julianne Hough Prefers Eating Pizza and Having Curves to When She Was 'Eating the Bare Minimum.' Abs and pizza CAN go together! Julianne Hough says both are part of her life now that she's learned to love her curves, and relax the restrictive eating habits she had as a teenager. "I love my shape because I feel strong and fit, and that makes me feel confident," Hough says in the new issue of SHAPE magazine, on newsstands Aug. 16. "When I look at pictures of myself when I was 19, my body was bangin', but I was killing myself. I was working out two and a half hours a day and eating the bare minimum to survive. I was so miserable. I wasn't healthy. To be honest, I looked like a kid. Now I'm embracing the fact that I'm a woman with curves." And that means indulging in her favorite cheat food-pizza-even if people may not believe it because of her ripped abs. "E! News recently posted a picture of me coming out of the gym, and there were all these comments about the photo, like, 'We could have abs like this, but we love pizza too much.' I started laughing because pizza is my favorite food. I eat it a lot!" Hough says. "I want everyone to know that I'm not Miss Perfect. You can cheat every once in a while, and that's okay. You can still have a fit body as long as you work out regularly and eat relatively healthfully throughout your life." For Hough, healthy eating means staying away from packaged foods. "I try to stick with foods that don't come in boxes. I don't want a whole paragraph of ingredients in my body," she says. "Brooks [her fiance, Toronto Maple Leafs player Brooks Laich] and I generally eat protein and veggies. For a boost of energy, I mix in quinoa or rice sometimes." "If Brooks had his way, we'd have steamed chicken and broccoli every day. That's too boring for me, and when I get bored I tend to binge eat. Last night we made baked salmon with rosemary and lemon and broccoli, onions, and cherry tomatoes. It took only 20 minutes and was really delicious." Protein-packed meals plus her typical workout routine-five days of hard-core classes like Tracy Anderson or Body by Simone-are key for Hough's fitness. But she makes sure to leave Sunday as a "reboot day." "I relax, enjoy the day and get mentally and spiritually prepared for the week," she says. "It gets me excited for what's ahead." (People)
Robert Downey Jr. Just Welcomed Tom Hiddleston to Instagram in the Best Way Possible. Robert Downey Jr. is all about Tom Hiddleston joining Instagram. The award-winning actor posted a shot of Taylor Swift 's beau from his Fourth of July vacation (you know the one, where he was wearing his I heart T.S. tank top) and wrote a hilarious caption to boot. "Join me in welcoming the biggest T.Stark fan of them all to Instagram!" Well done, RDJ, well done. The 35-year-old Brit joined the social media platform earlier and posted his debut shot in his Marvel character Loki. "He's back!" Hiddleston wrote presumably from the set of Thor: Ragnarok, which has been filming in Australia over the past several weeks. And while Hiddleston has already garnered almost a half of a million followers, he has yet to take the plunge and follow anyone himself on Instagram. Hmmm... let's see how long it takes for him to comment on his co-star Downey's Instagram pic! (Eonline)
Tyrese Responds to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's Fast 8 Rant: "We Have Never Had a Problem." There's no definitive answer yet as to whom Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was referring to in his "chicken s--t" Facebook rant, but Fast and Furious co-star Gibson decided to respond and take himself out of the running. In a now-deleted post on Instagram, Tyrese shared a video of an ever-cheery The Rock singing happy birthday to Tyrese's daughter. The caption, however, is where Tyrese let his thoughts on his co-star's rant air out. "...why are you guys so impressionable? A man wouldn't be singing from his heart and soul to another mans little angel if he had a problem with her dad," Tyrese began. "Does any of us know why bro decided to jump out there with his post? No...Would one assume that IF he's going to jump out there and generalize and say 'Male Co-Stars' he would be more clear and call out names??? Of course he should of -- Let me calm you guys all the way down...I don't know WHO he has a problem and I don't have any details of WHAT those problems are -- as a matter of fact if I DID know I would tell you s--t!!!!" The emotional post addressed former co-star Paul Walker, for whom all of the actors have said they're continuing the franchise. At the end of the day, Tyrese is back on set with his Fast family for Walker, who died tragically in a car accident. "I will humbly say this I'm personally not doing this for anyone but my brother Paul Walker -- this franchise is not about and has never been about anyone of us individually it's about the #FASTFAMILY -- the TRIBE...I love this franchise and ALL of the hard working past and present crews that have contributed to one of the biggest Multi Ethnic franchise films in the history of cinema..." Despite The Rock's seemingly out-of-nowhere digital rant, Tyrese still feels nothing but respect for the former WWE star. "I think Dewayne aka DJ happens to be one of the most humble, down to earth and professional people I've ever worked with and more importantly he's my brother we have NEVER had a problem and will never have a problem...WE are good over here....As a cast we're ALL married dammit!!!" So count Tyrese out as a possible subject of the Rock's rant, but why did he flip out at all? The Rock's reputation has been nothing but bright, professional, kind and more, so what led him to finally crack? A source told E! News exclusively that things on set "didn't feel exactly the same." And while Johnson "is the best guy on the planet to work with," he's "also a very emotional guy" and "likes things to go as he sees fit [while] also being fair." Johnson's Facebook post mentioned there are scenes in the film "where it seems like I'm not acting....and my blood is legit boiling," and according to our insider that couldn't be more true. The Rock really did "get heated with some other guys on set," the source told E! News. "Some of the guys did some small things that pissed him off, so he snapped. He called them out and then they were [too] silent to man up and say what they wanted to say." (Eonline)
Conrad Hilton Released from Prison After Serving 2 Months. Conrad Hilton was released from prison on Aug. 1, a source close to the 22-year-old hotel heir confirmed to PEOPLE. The younger brother of Paris Hilton was sentenced in June to two months in prison for violating his parole. Hilton has been on parole since 2015 and admitted in court on June 6 to using drugs including marijuana, synthetic cannabinoids and cocaine, which was a violation of his parole. In March 2015, he plead guilty to assault for making threats against both passengers and flight attendants on an international flight from London to Los Angeles in July 2014. According to a criminal report obtained by PEOPLE, witnesses reported that he shouted profanities at crew and passengers, including, "I am going to f---ing kill you!" Hilton was ordered into a substance abuse treatment center in January for at least 90 days after allegedly failing drug tests and violating his parole. (People)
Gigi Gorgeous, a transgender model and Kylie Jenner's BFF, is being detained at the Dubai airport because she used to be a man. Gigi, who became famous for documenting her transition on social media, tells TMZ she was stopped at Immigration. She says the immigration officer said, "I was told you are transgender. You cannot come into the country." Gigi was born Gregory Lazzarato, but says her passport has been updated since she transitioned ... it now reads "Gigi Loren." Airport police have a different story. They say the passport describes her as male and the passport photo shows Gigi as a male. Gigi tells us that's simply not true. We did some checking ... in Dubai the "imitation of women by men" is illegal, and violators face up to a year in jail. She says they still have her passport, and she's trying to get out of the country. (TMZ)
Amber Heard's Temporary Restraining Order Against Johnny Depp Extended by Judge, Domestic Violence Hearing Date Pushed Back. A status hearing regarding the court case between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp was held, and the conference resulted in the domestic violence hearing getting pushed back. Heard, who is currently in London, was represented by lawyer Samantha Spector and co-counsel Joseph P. Koenig, while Depp was represented by celeb renowned lawyer Laura Wasser. E! News learned that one of the main topics discussed at the beginning of the hearing is the issue of getting their depositions done. Wasser adamantly said Johnny wouldn't do his deposition until Amber does hers first, so the court ordered each depo to be scheduled for later this week. Wasser asked for extra time between the depositions and the start date for the hearing (which was slated for Monday), explaining to the judge, "This is really weighing heavily on my client." Wasser went on to say that she "would like to do it in the most expeditious manner to get it done and behind us." Therefore, the judge told both parties that the domestic violence hearing will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 17, as opposed to Monday, and extended Heard's temporary restraining order to that date. The judge also made it clear that neither Heard nor Depp may be present during the other party's deposition. Over the weekend, Depp's camp reportedly claimed that the actress refused to be deposed by the actor's camp, however E! News heard differently. "Although Amber was ready, willing and able to go forward with her deposition, it was not taken by Johnny's attorneys," our source said at the time. "She waited for 10 hours and at no time, did Amber ever refuse to start the deposition." This was again reiterated by Heard's camp in court. Koenig said the best way to describe it is that "the deposition did not start" and it wasn't that Amber refused. We've also learned that should this case go to trial, both Heard and Depp have submitted their lists of witnesses who are willing to testify. According to documents obtained by E! News, close friend Raquel Pennington and her boyfriend Joshua Drew "will testify to personal observations relating to incidents of domestic violence by [Johnny] including, but not limited to, the domestic violence incident which occurred on May 21." Friend iO Tillet Wright is also slated to testify and share her "personal observations" relating to incidents of domestic violence. Back in June, she wrote an essay for Refinery29 explaining why she called police on Johnny. All three individuals were named in Heard's initial court documents that were filed against Depp. Meanwhile, TMZ reports that while Heard has a list of seven witnesses slated to speak under oath during the trial, Depp allegedly has 23 witnesses he plans to have speak on his behalf. No names on his end were disclosed. (Eonline)
Members of the Kardashian family were blowing up Tyga's phone Tuesday after a judge issued a warrant for his arrest. Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ, several family members got Tyga on the horn and railed on him for being super irresponsible and missing a court hearing. They told him it would be a disaster if he was driving with Kylie and got pulled over by cops and then arrested. The Kardashians don't want this kind of street cred because they think it messes with the heart of their brand. As for why Tyga was a no-show, we're told he's in Turks and Caicos, celebrating Kylie's 19th birthday ... which is Wednesday. We're told he's already hired a lawyer to clean up the mess. As we reported, Tyga is on the hook for $480k after his Malibu landlord got a judgment for back rent and damage. The court hearing Tuesday was so the landlord's lawyer could grill Tyga to find out where he was keeping his money. (Eonline)

THE OTHER STUFF . . .
How I Fell in Love with Elvis-and Married Caitlyn Jenner: Linda Thompson's Fascinating Life. At only 22 years old, Linda Thompson fell in love with the King of Rock and Roll. In the 44 years that followed, Thompson would meet, marry and divorce Caitlyn Jenner, launch a television career and become an award-winning lyricist. For the first time, Thompson, now 66 and single, is sharing intimate stories and life lessons from her romances in a stunning new memoir, A Little Thing Called Life, excerpted exclusively in this week's issue of PEOPLE. A Southern belle, Thompson was newly crowned Miss Tennessee Universe when she was invited to a Memphis movie screening hosted by Elvis Presley. Sparks immediately flew and Thompson, who was a virgin when they met in 1972, found herself in a captivating romance with Presley. "From our first moments together, our relationship was all-encompassing," she writes in her memoir, adding, "The first year of the four and half we would share, we were together 24 hours a day." Still, Thompson says, Presley was "needy." She writes, "Gosh, to be the greatest sex symbol in the world, and yet he's so insecure he can't stand to hear about anybody I ever dated." Their love ultimately fell victim to Presley's well-documented struggles with prescription pill abuse, coupled with his multiple affairs. In 1976, and as Presley's drug dependence intensified and he grew increasingly unfaithful, Thompson knew she had to move out. It was in her heartbreak from Presley's death just eight months later, that Thompson met Olympic champion Jenner (known at the time as Bruce). Thompson, then a new addition to TV's Hee Haw, fell fast for the "masculine, virile" Jenner. They married in 1981, and went on to have two sons, Brandon and Brody. Two years after Brody's birth in 1983, Jenner stunned Thompson and told her she was "a woman trapped in a man's body," Thompson explains in the book. Despite trying to work through Jenner's transition plans with therapy, Thompson says she couldn't sustain the new situation. She ended the marriage, but the star, ever protective of Jenner, always kept her ex's secret. She writes, "I felt such an obligation to keep Bruce's gender dysphoria his secret that I did not even tell my sons until they were 31 and 29 years old, respectively." Thompson has publicly supported Jenner before and does so again in her book. With her stories- which also cover her marriage to composer and producer David Foster- Thompson says, "I want people to know we are all in this together and we are all fallible. We're all do diverse and so complex, but most of all, we're all human." (People)
Chrissie Hynde Dismisses Kardashians and Madonna, Weighs in on Feminism: 'You Gotta Be So Careful with What You Say Now.' Chrissie Hynde is a woman of many convictions-but she'll stand by them, whether popular, controversial or otherwise. Now 60, The Pretenders frontwoman has chronicled her sex-, drugs- and rock 'n' roll-filled career in a memoir, Reckless: My Life as a Pretender, now available for sale in paperback. When the tell-all first hit shelves last year, the "Back on the Chain Gang" singer caught a considerable amount of flak for her comments on sexual assault: Of being raped in her 20s, Hyde wrote, "I take full responsibility"; then, seemingly victim-blaming remarks she made in an interview drew criticism from the anti-sexual violence organization Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network. But as she was rising to fame with her popular English-American new wave act in their '80s punk heydey, Hynde is just as unapologetic about her oft-feather-ruffling opinions. (People)

Olympic Village Sex Secrets Revealed: What's Really Going on at Rio's 2016 Games. What happens in Rio, doesn't always stay in Rio. Olympic Villages in past host cities have been plagued with stories of rampant hookups, love connections and athletes gone wild antics, and it looks like this year's games are no different. An insider tells E! News that behind closed doors, things are getting hot and heavy at Rio's Olympic Village. "It's pretty intense... some athletes wait until after their competition [to party] and then others have hookups between practices because they say sex actually helps them reach for the gold." Our source continued, "For the most part, these athletes are protected and careful because the condom stock is endless. They are extra careful this year because of Zika." And the thing is, according to our insider, athletes are usually hooking up with other athletes because of the Village's strict curfew rules. "Many of the athletes prefer to meet other athletes on Tinder and other dating apps because that's easier, and then they do group dates with other athlete friends. Many of these women and men have been out of the dating game or never in the dating game before the Olympics, so it's a lot to take in for these athletes, especially after training so hard to be here." And let's face it, making it to the Olympics is practically the pinnacle of success for athletes around the globe, so they may as well make the most of it! (Eonline)
Grown Man Gets Reprimanded by His Mother After He Shamed Another Woman Breastfeeding at a Public Pool. Tanja Krstic Radusinovic was breastfeeding her 9-month-old son at a pool when she was approached by a man who asked her to stop, even though she was covered by a towel. "He looks at me all serious and mumbles, 'I don't think you should be doing that here,' " Radusinovic, 35, recalls in a now-viral Facebook post. The Las Vegas-based mom-of-three was angered by his comments, but before she could react, the man's mother came up to him and reprimanded him for her. "I had no idea I raised you like that, Kevin!" the man's mother said, according to Radusinovic's post. "I am not talking to you until you apologize! I breastfed you until you were 18 f------ months, Kevin! [... ] It is f------ normal." Radusinovic says that Kevin did apologize for his remarks, though his mother continued to be angry about the situation. "Too many moms have been shamed for breastfeeding," Radusinovic tells PEOPLE of why she thinks her post went viral. "Most of my friends are breastfeeding moms, so I guess they saw themselves in it because they've had similar experiences-they've had people telling them to cover up or leave the area. Once I posted it, everyone just went nuts and kept sharing it all over Facebook and Instagram and everywhere." She hopes her post makes others think twice before shaming women who are breastfeeding in public. "Leave moms alone!" says Radusinovic. "It's normal. I can't believe that grown-up men-and women-would be offended by a baby eating. If I were bottle feeding, that would never have happened." (People)
Girl Scouts Announce Two New Cookies Just in Time for National S'Mores Day. Somebody start the campfire! In honor of National S'mores Day, the Girl Scouts organization announced the addition of two new s'mores-flavored cookies to its 2017 lineup. The first treat is a graham cracker sandwich cookie with a chocolate and marshmallow filling. The second is a chocolate-coated version, made with a graham cookie dipped in crème icing and coated in chocolate. The chocolate-coated s'mores cookie is vegan and is free of artificial colors, preservatives and partially hydrogenated oils, while the sandwich cookie is free of artificial flavors, artificial colors, high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils and partially hydrogenated oils. The Girl Scout S'mores™ cookies will be the first new additions to the organization's lineup, which also includes the beloved Thin Mints and Samoas, since 2015's Rah-Rah Raisins, Toffee-tastic and Trios were unveiled. Both s'mores cookies will be released in 2017. Girl Scouts are no stranger to the gooey campfire treat. According to ABC News, one of the first recipes for s'mores was published in a 1925 Girl Scout Leader magazine. "Toast the marshmallows until they are pale brown and 'gooey.' Then make a sandwich of the two crackers and half a chocolate bar and put the marshmallow in between. Good!" the recipe, which was called "Somemore" at the time, read. When consumers purchase a box of Girl Scout S'mores™ cookies or any other variety of Girl Scout Cookies, they are investing in a girl's future and helping power Girl Scout programming locally for nearly 2 million girls. 'Suicide Squad' Soundtrack on Course for No. 1 Debut on Billboard 200 Chart. The Suicide Squad soundtrack is sailing toward No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, according to industry forecasters. Those in the know suggest the set, which was released on Aug. 5 through WaterTower Music/Atlantic Records, may earn upward of 130,000 to 140,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Aug. 11. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The top 10 of the new Aug. 27-dated Billboard 200 chart -- where Suicide Squad may launch at No. 1 -- is scheduled to be revealed on Billboard's websites on Sunday, Aug. 14. The bulk of Suicide Squad's first-week unit total will likely be driven by traditional album sales, as it could sell between 110,000 and 120,000. The rest of its overall total will be powered by SEA and TEA, courtesy of new tracks on the album like Twenty One Pilots' "Heathens" and the all-star "Sucker for Pain" by Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa and Imagine Dragons with Logic, Ty Dolla $ign and X Ambassadors. If Suicide Squad bows atop the Billboard 200, it will mark the first chart-topping soundtrack in a year, since Disney Channel's Descendants opened at No. 1 on the Aug. 22, 2015-dated list. The last theatrical film soundtrack to hit No. 1 was Pitch Perfect 2, which debuted in the top slot on the May 30, 2015, chart. Elsewhere in the new Billboard 200's top 10, watch for Skillet's Unleashed, the Now 59 compilation and indie country singer Cody Johnson's Gotta Be Me. Skillet could slide in with 60,000 units, while Now 59 might bow with 40,000 to 45,000. Johnson's latest could launch with 25,000 to 30,000. (Billboard)
Bon Iver to Premiere New Album at Eaux Claires Fest on Friday. Attendees at this weekend's Eaux Claires Arts & Music Festival in Wisconsin this weekend will get a special treat on Friday night when the fest's co-founder Justin Vernon takes the stage. Vernon has teased that he will debut his new Bon Iver album on Friday night at the two-day festival, which he launched in 2015 on Foster Farm in Eau Clair, Wisc., along with The National's Aaron Dessner. On June 9, Vernon tweeted from his official account that "Bon Iver will be playing a set made of NEW music this august @EauxClairesWI." Fans have been eagerly awaiting the follow-up to the 2011 self-titled Bon Iver debut, which landed the 35-year-old singer a Best New Artist Grammy in 2012. A few months after his Grammy triumph, though, Vernon said in an interview that he planned to "walk away" from the Bon Iver project. Now it seems he's reversed field again and will play new Bon Iver music at the festival, which will also feature sets from James Blake, Jenny Lewis, Erykah Badu and Indonesian experimentalists Senyawa. A spokesperson for Bon Iver could not be reached for comment at press time. The wind-up to new Bon Iver music began last month when the group uploaded a bizarre 22-second video titled "#22days" with what sounded like a bit of new music and the lyrics "it might be over soon." That video happened to drop 22 days before, yup, this Friday. On Tuesday, there was a series of new artwork posted on the Bon Iver Instagram page and, according to Stereogum, a "22 Days" mural appeared in Brooklyn this week with an image similar to Bon Iver's new Insta avatar. Vernon's Bon Iver alter ego broke through in 2007 with For Emma, Forever Ago and following the 2011 album he kept busy with a number of side-projects, one-offs and contributions to other artist's albums. In 2011 he hooked up with James Blake on the single "Fall Creek Boys Choir," released an album with his Volcano Choir side project in 2013, recorded music with another side project, Shouting Matches, contributed vocals and samples to Kanye West's Yeezus album and recorded a new Bon Iver song ("Heavenly Father") for the soundtrack to 2014's Wish I Was Here. He also appeared on Blake's 2016 song, "I Need a Forest Fire." And though he once again claimed he planned to mothball Bon Iver last July, he performed two new BI songs at the 2015 Eaux Claires fest and then reversed field again in February, telling Billboard tht he was "no longer winding down" Bon Iver and that he'd gained perspective on his career over the past few years. "I've definitely been working on music," he said at the time. (People)
Still Summer '16: Drake's 'One Dance' Holds Lead for Song of the Summer. About two-thirds of the way through summer, the track (featuring WizKid & Kyla) has topped the Songs of the Summer chart in each of the chart's first 10 weeks. Plus, on the rise: Sia's "Cheap Thrills," featuring Sean Paul. Long past July 4th fireworks and now into the more sweltering heat (and higher air-conditioning bills) of August, Drake's "One Dance," featuring WizKid and Kyla, continues to be the hottest song of the summer of 2016. Over the first 10 weeks of Billboard's Songs of the Summer chart, the track has ranked at No. 1 each week. So, at about two-thirds of the way through summer, the collab, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 10 total weeks (and now ranks at No. 2), continues to set the pace among summer's biggest hits so far. The 20-position Songs of the Summer running tally tracks the most popular titles based on cumulative performance on the weekly Hot 100 chart from Memorial Day through Labor Day. At the end of the season, the top song of the summer will be crowned. Rounding out the Songs of the Summer top five, Justin Timberlake's "Can't Stop the Feeling!" ranks at No. 2, followed by The Chainsmokers' "Don't Let Me Down," featuring Daya (No. 3), Desiigner's "Panda" (No. 4) and Calvin Harris' "This Is What You Came For," featuring Rihanna (No. 5). Just outside the Songs of the Summer top five, Sia's "Cheap Thrills," featuring Sean Paul, ranks at No. 6. Notably, it's zoomed from No. 19 when the list made its annual relaunch in June. At No. 1 on the weekly Hot 100 for a third week, "Thrills" should challenge for further lofty placement on Songs of the Summer over the chart's final few weeks. Meanwhile, the three youngest hits on Songs of the Summer are Meghan Trainor's "Me Too" (No. 16, five weeks) and two more contenders from Drake: "Controlla" (No. 18, five weeks) and "Too Good," featuring Rihanna (new at No. 20). Is Adele Performing at the 2017 Super Bowl Halftime Show? Adele might be saying hello to the 2017 Super Bowl. According to British tabloid newspaper The Sun, the National Football League is eyeing the British soul siren for next year's half-time performance. A source from the National Football League allegedly told The Sun, "There is nobody bigger in the world than Adele right now and organizers are doing absolutely everything they can to try to persuade her to sign up. She's sold out every date on her tour, everyone wants a piece of her and they know they can bank on her bringing in the viewers." The insider added, "It's Adele's nerves that are the issue -- it hasn't been an easy sell." Last October, the reclusive singer released her comeback hit "Hello." She is currently on her sold-out world tour in support of her third studio effort 25, which spent 10 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 to date. If Super Bowl rumors are true, Adele would join an elite list of music VIPs who have graced the halftime stage including Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, Prince and Madonna, among others. Performing at one of the most-watched annual sporting events in the world would also one-up her Glastonbury set, which she described on-stage in June as the "best moment of my life." A rep for Adele offered no comment while reps for the NFL did not immediately respond to Billboard's requests for comment. (Billboard)
Like father, like son. Or vice versa if you're Drake's 60-something-year-old dad who's launching a R&B music career and taking notes from his kid. TMZ obtained a clip from Dennis Graham's first track off an R&B album -- "Kinda Crazy." Dennis hit up Jamie Iovine -- producer, CRO of Meltdown Comics and son of music mogul Jimmy Iovine ... the guy who broke streaming records when he released Drake's "Views" on Apple Music. We're told Dennis and Jamie will drop the track this month while he completes the album, and Drake has given his stamp of approval. One big difference between Drake and dad ... their taste in music video babes. (TMZ)
Miley Cyrus Found a New Fashion Muse and His Name is Mr. Mugatu. It seems pretty safe to say that Miley Cyrus is an extreme dresser. While most celebrities are satisfied with a simple, straightforward gown or slip dress, the pop star can regularly be found clad in anything and everything technicolor, sculptural, and, like her godmother Dolly Parton, rhinestoned to within an inch of its life. So, of course, when it comes to her style muses, no run-of-the-mill street style star will do. Miley needs some one just as theatrically OTT and out of this world as she is. In other words, what she needs is Mugatu. No, you're not taking crazy pills, we are in fact referring to the arch villain in Zoolander played by Will Ferrell. And while you probably won't see the singer clad in head-to-toe Derelicte anytime soon, she did share a screenshot of herself looking like a futuristic alien from the new Men in Black inspired trailer for her upcoming season of The Voice. Cyrus captioned the shot, "We're going to destroy yiew! @blakeshelton @adamlevine @aliciakeys @nbcthevoice kicks off Sept 19 on NBC!!!#TeamMiley Ps! My new fashion Inspo is clearly Mr. Mugatu #mrmugaturealness." While Miley is currently the only image listed under the hashtag #MrMugatuRealness, lets all cross our fingers this trend really takes off because we all need a little more of the designer's Hunger Games-style Capitol couture in our lives. And even though the villain's classic refrain throughout the film is a whispered endorsement of supermodel Hansel's current astronomical level of it-factor, we have a feeling after he catches wind of this sartorial deference being pointed in his direction he might start singing a very different tune. We can practically hear him murmuring already, "Miley, so hot right now." (People)
A bunch of kids hit the bottle hard Tuesday night at a Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa concert ... sending 11 of 'em to the hospital. Snoop and Wiz's The High Road Tour at Nikon Jones Amphitheater in Wantagh, NY was the place to be for big drinkers ... and 25 of the 35 people treated for alcohol poisoning were underage ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ. We're told an 18-year-old was so wasted he fell face first, busting his mouth and nose. We're told the concert was severely understaffed with security ... 16 cops were monitoring the 14,000 concertgoers who got the party started during a tailgate ... hours before the Wiz and Snoop took the stage. This all comes on the heels of 40 injured at Friday's concert when a railing collapsed. (TMZ)
Ed Sheeran Sued for $20 Million for Allegedly Copying ''Photograph.'' One of Sheeran's chart-topping tracks is currently under hot water. The Grammy-winning singer has been hit with a lawsuit by Martin Harrington and Thomas Leonard, and their publishing company HaloSongs, who allege that Sheeran's "Photograph" is a copy of their 2009 song "Amazing." Harrington and Leonardo's single was sung by Matt Cardle, the winner of the 2010 season of The X Factor. The plaintiffs are currently being represented by Richard Busch, the same attorney who represented the Marvin Gaye family during their recent lawsuit over the single, "Blurred Lines." E! News has obtained the court documents, which claim that "the songs' similarities reach the very essence of the work. The similarities go beyond substantial, which is itself sufficient to establish copyright infringement, and are in fact striking." The complaint adds that "the similarity of words, vocal style, vocal melody, melody and rhythm are clear indicators, amount other things, that 'Photograph' copies 'Amazing.'" Busch told NBC News, "My clients are professional songwriters. Their work is their life and I am honored that they have trued me with this very important case. We set out the facts in the lawsuit in great detail." The plaintiffs have estimated that the defendants (including Sheeran) have profited over $20 million, and they are seeking statutory damages as well as either a running royalty or an injunction. Sheeran's rep could not be reached for comment. UPDATE: E! News has learned that Ed Sheeran has been sued yet again, this time for his hit "Thinking Out Loud." Marvin Gaye and Ed Townsend co-wrote the 1973 classic song, "Let's Get It On" and now Townsend's heirs are suing the pop singer for copyright infringement. Sheeran's team has yet to return request for comment. (Eonline)

The Rock's rant about unprofessional male co-stars was targeted at Vin Diesel, TMZ has learned, and the 2 had a secret meeting on the "Fast 8" set Tuesday to hash things out. Production sources tell TMZ ... when the Rock went nuts on social media Monday night, claiming certain male co-stars were not stand up guys and too "chicken s***" to confront him ... he was referring to Vin. We're told The Rock has butted heads with Vin during the production, in part because V.D. is a producer and has made decisions that didn't sit well with the former wrestling champ. Our sources say The Rock and Vin had a meeting on the Atlanta set mid-day Tuesday ... partly because tensions were running so high it was almost impossible to shoot scenes. We do not know if they resolved their issues. As we reported, almost the entire cast is angry at Rock for causing a stir just a week and a half before filming ends. (TMZ)
Vin Diesel got the hell out of Dodge ... minutes after wrapping his final scene in "Fast 8" ... and we've learned his feud with The Rock is NOT resolved. Production sources tell TMZ ... Vin finished filming his scenes, with The Rock, no less, at 1 AM Wednesday and almost as soon as the director called cut Vin gathered everyone and said he was leaving. During his speech, he said, "Daddy's gone" ... Vin thinks of himself as the father figure on set. Our sources say earlier in the day, Vin confronted Rock over the disparaging comments he made about his male co-stars. Although Rock didn't name names, we know he was referring to Vin. We're told Vin went to Rock's trailer and demanded to know why he was talking trash. The 2 spoke privately inside but we're told the did not squash their beef. One source intimately familiar with the actors tells us it's all about big egos. As for Vin, he didn't leave anyone high and dry. We're told after shooting his last scene the studio cleared him to leave. As for The Rock ... he shoots his last scene Thursday. The move is a week away from being fully wrapped. (TMZ)
Charlie Hunnam to premiere project at New York film fest. Charlie Hunnam -- the hunk best known for quitting the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie franchise -- will show off a project he chose instead, "The Lost City of Z," when it premieres at the New York Film Festival on Oct. 15. Hunnam plays British explorer Percy Fawcett in the film, which was originally meant to star Brad Pitt (who produced), and also includes Robert Pattinson and Sienna Miller. Meanwhile, Hunnam's much-delayed Guy Ritchie King Arthur epic has been pushed to a March release. (PageSix)
'Ghostbusters' Heading for $70M-Plus Loss, Sequel Unlikely. Confronted by tepid box office for the reboot, the studio will instead focus on animated spinoffs. Immediately upon the opening of Ghostbusters in mid-July, top Sony executives boldly declared a sequel to Paul Feig's all-female reboot of Ivan Reitman's 1984 classic was a given. "While nothing has been officially announced yet, there's no doubt in my mind it will happen," said Rory Bruer, president of worldwide distribution at Sony. That was the studio's last public mention of a sequel. As of Aug. 7, Ghostbusters had earned just under $180 million at the global box office, including $117 million domestic. The film still hasn't opened in a few markets, including France, Japan and Mexico, but box-office experts say it will have trouble getting to $225 million despite a hefty net production budget of $144 million plus a big marketing spend. The studio has said break-even would be $300 million. Sony hardly is alone in suffering from audience rejection of sequels this summer. But film chief Tom Rothman and his team, along with partner Village Roadshow, had high hopes for launching a live-action Ghostbusters "universe." Now they are preparing for steep losses (think $70 million-plus) and an uncertain future for the franchise. Sony won't comment on whether it has banished a sequel to the netherworld, but perhaps tellingly, a rep says the studio actively is pursuing an animated Ghostbusters feature that could hit theaters in 2019 and an animated TV series, Ghostbusters: Ecto Force, which is eyeing an early 2018 bow. Both are being guided by Reitman, who firmly is back in charge of the Ghostbusters empire via Ghost Corps., a subsidiary with a mandate to expand the brand across platforms. (It was former Sony film chief Amy Pascal who first embraced Feig's vision for the live-action reboot, not Reitman or Rothman.) "We're very proud of the bold movie Paul Feig made, which critics and audiences loved," a studio rep tells THR. "It has enlivened a 30-year-old brand and put it into the modern zeitgeist. As a result, we have many ideas in the works to further exploit the Ghostbusters universe." Feig hasn't said whether he'll return. Stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon are said to be signed for two potential sequels, and initially they said they were game. But now? "Ghostbusters is on ice until further notice," says box-office analyst Jeff Bock. "I just can't fathom the creative talents behind it -- Feig, McCarthy, Wiig, etc. -- slogging out another one when the reception to the first one was so mediocre." Sony disputes the amount of the potential loss, insisting that revenue streams from merchandising and such attractions as a new Ghostbusters exhibit at Madame Tussauds and a theme park ride in Dubai will help defray any deficit. The studio also notes that the number of people renting the 1984 film has soared over the summer. "This loss calculation is way off," says the Sony rep. "With multiple revenue streams, including consumer products, gaming, location-based entertainment, continued international rollout, and huge third-party promotional partnerships that mitigated costs, the bottom line, even before co-financing, is not remotely close to that number." New 'Chronicles of Narnia' Movie Planned by TriStar, Mark Gordon. 'Life of Pi' scribe David Magee will adapt C.S. Lewis' 'The Silver Chair' for the big screen. Narnia is coming back to the big screen. TriStar, the Mark Gordon Company and Entertainment One will finance an adaptation of C.S. Lewis' The Silver Chair from the author's Chronicles of Narnia book series. It's unclear if castmembers from earlier films are returning. The Silver Chair will take place after the events of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, when Prince Caspian has become King Caspian. The story begins with Caspian's son, the prince, going missing, leading Aslan the lion to send Eustace Scrubb -- who was played by The Revenant's Will Poulter in 2010's Dawn Treader -- and his boarding school classmate Jill Pope in search of the missing monarch. David Magee, the writer responsible for the book-to-screen adaptations of Life of Pi and Finding Neverland, will pen the script. The Mark Gordon Company will develop and produce the film, along with the C.S. Lewis Company, with Sony and eOne handling distribution. Nicole Brown will oversee the project for TriStar with Minghella, with Sara Smith overseeing the project for The Mark Gordon Company. "Developing this project with The C.S. Lewis Company has been immensely exciting and a real joy," Gordon said Tuesday in a statement. "We are so pleased to team up with our good friends at TriStar and our partners at eOne to introduce this new, magical chapter of the Narnia franchise to fans around the world, both old and new." This will be the first voyage into Narnia for The Mark Gordon Company, who announced plans for a fourth Chronicles of Narnia movie back in 2013. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian were produced by Disney and Walden Media. For Dawn Treader, Walden, which owned the film rights to the Lewis book series until 2011, partnered with Dune Entertainment and Fox. The Chronicles of Narnia film franchise began in 2005 with the first film The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, which grossed $745 million at the worldwide box office. The next two installments in the series, Prince Caspian and Voyage of the Dawn Treader, were released in 2008 and 2010, respectively. The entire franchise has grossed more than $1.6 billion at the global box office, when not adjusted for inflation. (Hollywood Reporter)

Is The Big Bang Theory Ending With Season 10? CBS Boss on Show's Renewal Chances. There's more life left in The Big Bang Theory... if CBS gets its way. The series was renewed through season 10, the upcoming season, with the cast including Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galeckionly signed on until then. "We are very confident that everyone involved wants more Big Bang past year 10 and I know Warner Bros. will make those deals," CBS boss Glenn Geller told reporters at the 2016 TCA Summer Press Tour. In a smaller pool of reporters, Geller said there is now time table for when an announcement about the show's future would be made. "We'll put it on for as long as everyone wants Big Bang on the air," he said. "I hope it lasts forever." The Big Bang Theory is one of TV's highest-rated shows. Its most recent season it came in No. 2 overall with an average of 20.36 million viewers. It was previously renewed for three additional seasons in 2014 with new deals for the three leads netting them a reported $1 million per episode. Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik also star. "Comedy is a big part of our schedule, and The Big Bang Theory is the biggest comedy force on television," Nina Tassler, former CBS Entertainment Chairman, said when the show received its three season renewal in 2014. "This multi-year deal further strengthens our network's position for future seasons and marks another chapter in the great partnership CBS enjoys with Warner Bros. Television for delivering audiences the best in comedy. We're proud to work with and showcase the incredible talents of Chuck Lorre, Steve Molaro and this amazing cast every week." The Big Bang Theory season 10 premieres Monday, Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. and moves to its regular timeslot on Thursday, Oct. 27 at 8 p.m. on CBS. (Eonline)
The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Is Going Live -- Again. The Late Show With Stephen Colbert is going big -- again. The late-night chat show is going live -- again -- following the presidential and vice presidential debates. The three live broadcasts are scheduled to air Monday, Sept. 26, Wednesday, Oct. 19 and on Tuesday, Oct. 4. The Late Show went live during the Republican and Democratic National Conventions and earned strong ratings and acclaim, according to CBS. The live shows birthed The Late Show's two biggest viral moments: Jon Stewart's guest appearance and Laura Benanti's appearance as Melania Trump. Guests for the upcoming three live shows will be revealed at a later date. These latest batches of live shows come after the CBS series has been taking big stabs to carve out a footprint in the crowded late-night space. The host brought back his Colbert Report character, Stephen Colbert, for a spell and battled rumors that he would be replaced by James Corden. Howard Stern posed the question to Corden, the host of The Late Late Show. "Never gonna happen," Corden told Stern. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Colbert said it was a valid question, given the success of Corden's late-night series and the viral sensation of Carpool Karaoke his show birthed. "That's a reasonable question for Howard to ask, I suppose, because Howard asks provocative questions," Colbert said. "I mean, any question is a reasonable question if you think it's interesting, and that's a very interesting question. But, I mean, what can I do about a question? All I can do is the best show I can." CBS denied the move would happen and voiced support for Colbert. "We have no plans to flip the two shows," Glenn Geller, president of CBS Entertainment, told The Hollywood Reporter. "It's really easy for people to pit the shows against each other. But they're different kinds of shows, they're different kinds of hosts. One was a known quantity to America, and the other was not. I don't think it's fair to compare the two and say, 'Well, just because one show has this, why doesn't the other?'" Colbert clearly has the political beat down thanks to his years on Comedy Central with his Stephen Colbert character, but the struggle has been harnessing that for the a larger audience on CBS's flagship late-night series. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert airs weeknights, 11:35 p.m. on CBS. (Eonline)
The Case of JonBenet Ramsey Is Being Reopened by CBS: Get the Details. 20 years later, will one of the most high profile unsolved murders finally be solved? The investigation of JonBenet Ramsey is set to be opened by CBS when their six-hour limited series event docuseries, The Case Of: JonBenet Ramsey, which will premiere on Sunday, Sept. 18, the network officially announced at the 2016 Summer TCA Press Tour on Wednesday. And rather than airing one episode per week, The Case Of will air each night for one week, concluding on Sunday, Sept. 25. Set to take a closer look at the December 24, 1996 murder of the six-year-old, original investigators from the case will take part in the series, including former New York City prosecutor, retired FBI supervisory special agent and profiler Jim Clemente; world-renowned forensic scientist Dr. Henry Lee; former chief investigator for the District Attorney in Boulder, Colo., James Kolar; leading forensic pathologist Dr. Werner Spitz; and retired FBI supervisory special agent and forensic linguistic profiler James Fitzgerald. The 1996 murder of JonBenet, a child pageant contestant, captivated the nation after her body was found in the basement of her family's Boulder, Colo. home on Christmas Eve, and it was later determined she had been struck on the head and strangled. Her parents and brother were first suspected, but later exonerated. The case was reopened in 2009, but remains unsolved. During the six episodes, viewers can expect to see the team re-examine crucial evidence using advanced technology and forensics, as well as recreate the crime scene by rebuilding full-scale replicas of key rooms from the Ramsey house. New theories will also be introduced and extensive interviews will also be conducted. The Case Of seems to be CBS' answer to recent true crime trend taking over the small screen, following the success of American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson and Netflix's Making a Murderer, while NBC is set to launch Law & Order: True Crime, with the first season taking a closer look at the case of the Lyle and Erik Menendez, who, in 1994, were convicted of murdering their parents. The Case Of: JonBenet Ramsey will premiere on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 8:30 p.m. ET and 8 p.m. PT on CBS. (Eonline)
CBS Boss on Network's Lack of Diversity: "We Need to Do Better." CBS has a diversity issue and they know it. CBS boss Glenn Geller took the stage at the 2016 TCA Summer Press Tour and answered questions about the show's lack of diversity, both in front of and behind the camera. "I'm really glad this question came up first because we're very mindful at CBS of the importance of diversity and inclusion," Geller told press when asked about the show's lack of LGBT and people of color leads on several of their new shows. "We need to do better and we know it. That's really it, we need to do better. In terms of leads we are definitely less diverse this year than last year, and like I said we need to do better." Geller pointed to the diversity of the network's ensembles, diverse directors on programs such as The Odd Couple and Madam Secretary, programs like CBS Diversity Institute and CBS on Tour, but noted they must do better. "I understand we need to better with leads," he said. He touted the historic casting of Laverne Cox in Doubt, the transgender actress is playing the first transgender series regular role on network television. Another hot topic for CBS has consistently been the network's problems with sexism and racism among Big Brother contestants. "It is a social experiment, and they do the best they can to look into people's backgrounds and see who these people really are," he said. "When you put people together, they become who they are, regardless of the cameras... but that's what the show is about, it's an entertainment show. It's a social experiment and I think we see that every summer." Be sure to check back with E! News for more from CBS TCA. (Eonline)
Bachelor in Paradise Recap: Interrupting Makeouts and Other Things Not to Do. Bachelor in Paradise is getting seriously geometric. Love triangles, love squares, love lines, love dots, love shapes of all kinds are just popping up all over the place, just a few days into this season. Other than Lace and Grant and Izzy and Vinny, most couples aren't all that solid. We'd put Amanda and Josh on that list too, but not everyone seems to agree. Just the other night, Nick and Amanda seemed totally into each other, no matter how hard Leah tried to interfere. After Leah's lonely departure, Nick's greatest rival, Josh Murray, made his grand entrance, and immediately locked his lips onto Amanda's lips and threw away the key. Nick wasn't sure if the two of them were genuinely into each other, or if Josh was just there to steal his girl again, but either way, he wasn't happy with all the making out. Meanwhile, Carly broke the news to Evan that she was just not into him, and after he cried a bit, he decided he was going to go after Amanda as well. While that seems out of the blue and nonsensical, they did sort of have a connection back when they first arrived onto the beach, and we were into the idea of their modern Brady Bunch situation. But Amanda had clearly moved on, dude! Evan's methods of seduction were... not great. He made up a date card, set up a little tree house date, and then... interrupted Josh and Amanda's make out session. Genius. Then there was Sarah, who found herself drawn to new arrival Christian. They went on a lovely date, where she was "basically between his legs" while they ziplined, and found that when they returned, Daniel was very jealous. After he gave his rose to Sarah the night before, he decided he truly felt something for her and wanted to get to know her more. So he arranged for a little mini date, and Sarah found herself conflicted. Did she like the hot guy who seemed like good marriage material, or the weirdo who didn't want to kiss her for fear of giving her Zika virus? And then there's Brandon and the twins. Brandon, in case you forgot, which you definitely did, was apparently on Desiree's season. Not even Chris Harrison knew who he was, but he immediately took notice of one of the twins. During his date with one of the twins, the twins switched places, hoping he'd notice and pass their test. Unfortunately, he hadn't a clue, so Brandon and whichever twin he thought he liked are probably not long for this world. Of course, everything ended with a big fat To Be Continued, so we'll have to wait to find out how Evan's ill-advised pursuit of Amanda ends up going. We're going to guess the answer is "badly." Bachelor in Paradise airs Monday and Tuesday at 8 p.m. on ABC. (Eonline)
Ryan Murphy Looking to Cast George W. Bush, Condoleezza Rice for New FX Series 'Katrina.' The show-runner also says season two of 'American Crime Story' will see some familiar faces and a supersized number of episodes on surviving the disaster: "You get out by climbing up and pulling people with you, and to a large degree that's what the miniseries is about." Ryan Murphy captured lightning in a bottle with the first season of his latest FX anthology series, American Crime Story. Ten episodes devoted to the intimate details of the O.J. Simpson story as well as its larger legal and cultural repercussions earned critical raves, broke FX records and picked up a stunning 22 Emmy nominations. Now, the prolific producer has begun the process of doing it all over again. One question that's persisted since The Hollywood Reporter first reported that season two would focus on 2005's Hurricane Katrina is just how Murphy would make the considerably more recent New Orleans saga as broadly appealing as O.J. had proved. After all, it lacked the many entry points -- including sports, celebrity and distance -- that drew viewers to season one. What's more, would it be possible to make Katrina anything more than a seasonlong downer? Murphy, who's relying on Douglas Brinkley's The Great Deluge as source material, is confident that it is as much a story of survival as it is one of devastation. "It's an amazing tragedy that you cannot believe happened in America. But along with the overwhelming horribleness and sadness, you also have amazing stories of [people] coming together," he tells THR. "We're laying into what do you do when you're in a city and your government has abandoned you? You get out by climbing up and pulling up people with you, and to a large degree that's what the miniseries is about. It's not just what happened but heroic stories about people surviving -- or in some cases, dying helping others."
'Big Brother' Earns 2-Season Renewal; 'Zoo' Also Returning to CBS. Decisions on summer scripted series 'BrainDead' and 'American Gothic' are still to be determined. CBS is solidifying its summer. The network used its time in front of the press Wednesday to announce that it has handed out a two-season renewal for summer staple Big Brother as well as pick up scripted drama Zoo for a third season. Decisions on fellow summer scripted series BrainDead and American Gothic have not yet been determined. Zoo, based on the best-seller by author and exec producer James Patterson, is a global thriller about a wave of violent animal attacks against humans. The series is produced in-house by CBS Television Studios and stars James Wolk. While not an out-of-the-box ratings hit, the series has averaged 4 million viewers and a 1.1 among adults under 50, with both metrics growing about 35 percent and 53 percent, respectively, with three days of delayed viewing. The series is the longest-running original summer scripted drama on the network that originally made waves a few years ago by rolling out pricey scripted dramas in the typically low-rated summer. Key to those deals was securing SVOD windows on Netflix and Amazon, which Zoo has with the former. Amazon has BrainDead, produced by The Good Wife's Robert and Michelle King, while American Gothic did not have a streaming deal to help off-set its costs. (None of CBS' summer dramas have been out-of-the-gate hits the way Under the Dome originally opened, which helped to pave the way for expensive scripted fare in the summer on the network.) For its part, Big Brother's two-season renewal is no surprise given the reality competition series' continued ratings success in its 18th season across the three nights a week that the show airs. CBS gave the stalwart a similar two-season pickup back in September 2014. Wednesday's renewal will take Big Brother into its landmark 20th season on the air. Seasons 19 and 20 will air in summer 2017 and 2018, respectively. Season 19 of Big Brother is not to be confused with the new digital edition of the series, which will premiere on CBS All Access in the fall. It's unclear how else the new digital edition, which will also be hosted by Julie Chen, will differentiate itself from the original series.
Will Megyn Kelly Stay at Fox News? Why She's a Litmus Test for Network Talent. Roger Ailes is out and Kelly's contract is up for renewal next year, but with an unproven track record of pundits moving from Fox, can the star anchor find success (and a big-time payday) at an outlet that isn't "fair and balanced"? A news analyst makes his prediction. Roger Ailes, creator of Fox News Channel, is gone. He turned FNC into his own embodiment -- clannishly conservative, pugnaciously populist, apologetically unreconstructed. In the absence of Ailes' personal guiding hand, the channel will be folded more neatly into the corporate structure of its parent 21st Century Fox, and the family leadership of the Murdochs, father and sons. With Ailes deposed, some to believe the Murdoch family will guide FNC back towards the ideological mainstream. Unlikely. Why kill the right-wing goose that lays the $1 billion-a-year golden egg? The better question is, with Ailes gone, will FNC's stable prime -- time lineup of anchors remain intact? In particular, what will become of Megyn Kelly, whose contract is up for renewal next year? Kelly's feud with Donald Trump catapulted both to the center of campaign 2016, and her ambitions stretch far beyond her nightly cable hour. Kelly's avowed role models of Charlie Rose and Diane Sawyer suggest two goals: the megamillion-dollar payday that in TV news now is only granted to those in the a.m. broadcast anchor chairs; and prestigious one-on-one interviews in primetime. The first traditionally has favored smart, beautiful, personable blondes; the second, tenacious questioning acumen. Kelly, 45, qualifies on both fronts. (The traditional alternate route for a female television journalist with true star power to attract fame and fortune used to be in afternoon syndication. But the opportunity to follow in Oprah Winfrey's footsteps is no longer feasible in the contemporary TV business.) There usually is a revolving door that allows agents to shop talent from network to network. This system relies on a consensus that all networks are essentially in the same business, producing the same type of TV. Thus, anchors who establish a following at Network A can ply their trade at Network B. This is the route Sawyer took from CBS to her big paydays and profile at ABC, and Barbara Walters from NBC to ABC. Kelly presents the litmus test as to whether Fox News is part of this system. FNC has several stars who have come from mainstream networks: Greta Van Susteren from CNN, Brit Hume and Chris Wallace from ABC, Maria Bartiromo and Neil Cavuto from CNBC, even Gretchen Carlson from CBS. But few stars have managed the reverse transition. Even Major Garrett, the most noteworthy exception, had to spend time in print purgatory at National Journal before being sufficiently rehabbed to join CBS. FNC has spent so much time differentiating itself from all other mainstream networks and boasting that it has a radically different journalistic agenda and ideology ("fair and balanced") that it is not clear Kelly's star power (she reportedly already makes $10 million a year) would translate seamlessly. Can she fit in at a network she has disavowed with her implicit endorsement of Ailes' proposition that it is unfair and imbalanced in comparison to Fox? It is likely Kelly had thought it through before she made her allegations of sexual harassment against Ailes. She must have known her claim to internal investigators would eventually be made public, so she was delivering the coup de grace that would topple Ailes and transform the management structure at FNC. Her decision makes sense if she already had locked in an opportunity to leave and saw no downside to burning bridges. Equally, it makes sense as an internal power grab; with Ailes supplanted, she increases her chances of leapfrogging his acolytes Sean Hannity and, in particular, archrival Bill O'Reilly, to become the network's true star. As much as Kelly might aspire to be the next Rose or Sawyer, there is the sobering counterexample of Katie Couric, who demonstrates that a top star in one format can have little leverage in another. Does Kelly really want to end up as a Yahoo castoff? So, with Ailes gone, is Kelly likely to follow him out the door? Unlikely. I bet she stays at Fox News. As its queen bee. Tyndall is an independent news analyst. (Hollywood Reporter)

The younger brother of Paris Hilton was sentenced in June to two months in prison for violating his parole.
