Jesse Metcalfe and Longtime Girlfriend Cara Santana Are Engaged. John Tucker must die get ready to do some serious wedding planning. E! News has confirmed that actor Jesse Metcalfe has proposed to longtime girlfriend Cara Santana during a getaway in honor of her birthday this weekend. "She loves her ring and is thrilled to be engaged to the love of her life," a source tells E! News. The John Tucker Must Die star popped the question with a stunning 5.5-carat emerald shaped diamond ring (that he designed, of course) while aboard a 50-foot sailboat in the middle of the Hudson River in New York, according to Us Weekly, who first reported the engagement. The romantic gesture comes during a special weekend for the lovebirds, who have been together for 10 years. Posting a selfie of the couple enjoying a river ride in New York City, Metcalfe captioned the sweet snapshot, "What a weekend! Meant to get this up yesterday, but was too busy celebrating. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my baby!!!" "I wouldn't say it was love at first sight," Metcalfe told Your Tango in 2013 of meeting his future bride. "It was more of a slow burn, which I think is a better start for a relationship. I think if it comes on fast and furious, it generally fizzles out just as fast. We were slow and steady." "We took the time to get to know each other," Santana added at the time. "We've known each other for, like, 10 years." Congratulations to the happy couple! (Eonline)
Candice Swanepoel may have just announced the name of her first child. On Monday, the pregnant Victoria's Secret Angel enjoyed a safari-themed baby shower where a decorative blue banner was displayed with what could be the name of Swanepoel's son. "In the final stretch of pregnancy, Candice Swanepoel chose the theme Safari, in honor of her country, South Africa, for the baby shower of their first child," Vogue Brazil shared in Portuguese on Instagram along with a photo collage of the shower. "Among ornaments and themed sweets, behold, the decor of the event revealed the name chosen by the couple for the firstborn: Anacã-which is also a bird of the Amazon region," the caption concluded. Brazilian event planner Mariana Paraiso also shared photos from the baby shower, including a photo of Candice, who looked beautiful in an over-the-shoulder white dress. Guests dined on cake and cupcakes decorated with assortment of wild animals and even went home with adorable animal-shaped gift boxes. In March, Swanepoel, 27, and fiance Hermann Nicoli announced they were expecting their first child together. Two months later, the mother-to-be revealed the sex of their baby in an Instagram post. Katy Perry's relationship with Orlando Bloom is stronger than ever, but could the "Rise" singer be sporting a new engagement ring on her finger soon? The couple-who were first linked in January after they were spotted getting flirty at a post-Golden Globes party-are "not engaged yet, but seem to be heading that way," a Bloom source tells PEOPLE exclusively. The actor, 39, who shares 5-year-old son Flynn with ex-wife Miranda Kerr, "always gushes about Katy and thinks she is amazing in a million ways," says the source. "He would love to settle down with Katy and have more kids. He hasn't been this serious about a girl since Miranda." However, the pair are in no rush to walk down the aisle. "Katy's divorce from Russell [Brand] really messed her up emotionally," says a Perry friend. The comedian, 41, filed for divorce from Perry, 31, in late 2011 just one year after their fairy-tale wedding in India, and the singer has talked about the toll the broken marriage took on her. "She's not going to rashly make a huge commitment like marriage again unless she thinks it's absolutely right," says the friend. However, that doesn't mean Perry's not head over heels for Bloom. "They've been getting along really well," adds the friend. "Katy gives him space, and they're both pretty independent. They are serious about each other and their relationship." (People)
Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger Reunite After Breaking Up. Something to celebrate? Nearly a month after Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger announced their breakup, the exes were photographed buying a bottle of wine in L.A. Monday. Though their reunion might lead some to believe they're back together romantically, a source tells E! News they're "just friends." It should come as no surprise, since the stars' reps said in July they would "remain friends" after mutually deciding to end their 10-year relationship. Neither actor has commented on the split. Monday's afternoon outing marked the first time that Jackson, 38, and Kruger, 40, have been seen together since their split. The Infiltrator actress has shared a number of cryptic quotes via Instagram since then. Last week, she shared a collage of Post-It Notes that read, "Being sad sometimes is OK. Being angry is OK too. Develop healthy habits. Feel everything. Be gentle. Always ask questions." She did not provide additional commentary. Four days ago, she shared another quote that read, "If you are lucky enough to find yourself a weirdo never let them go." And on Saturday, Kruger quoted Albus Dumbledore (from the Harry Potter books), writing, "Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if only one remembers to turn on the light." Jackson, on the other hand, has not hinted at possible personal troubles via social media. The actors began dating in 2006 after Kruger split from her husband of five years, French director Guillaume Canet. Kruger and Jackson -- who co-owned houses in New York City, Paris and Vancouver -- often said that marriage was not in the cards for them. "It's important for the people that it's important for, but neither one of us are particularly religious, so I don't think that there's any particular push," Jackson told E! News in 2012. "But never say never." In 2014, Jackson reiterated his stance, telling Glamour, "I can tell you why we're not married: We're not religious. I don't feel any more or less committed to Diane for not having stood in front of a priest and had a giant party. We're both children of divorce, so it's hard for me to take marriage at face value as the thing that shows you've grown up and are committed to another person." Kruger was the first to pooh-pooh the idea of tying the knot again. "Without sounding pessimistic, I learned that I don't believe in marriage," the actress told Glamour in 2011. "I believe in a commitment that you make in your heart. There's no paper that will make you stay." (Eonline)
This is no laughing matter! Comedian Amy Schumer has opened up about her abusive ex-boyfriend in her new book, claiming he threatened to kill her with a butcher's knife. The 35-year-old released her memoir, The Girl With The Lower Back Tattoo, on Tuesday August 16, and in it she's shared some painful memories from her troubled past. Schumer claims she fell victim to a physically and emotionally abusive boyfriend called Dan, who would leave her battered and bruised. The Trainwreck star has documented the most violent episode when she says he shoved her onto the hood of a parked car, causing her to bang her head and elbow. Although she tried to run away from him twice that evening, she didn't escape and his aggression escalated. "I was screaming for him to stop, when he grabbed a butcher knife from a drawer," she wrote. "And that's when I was sure he was going to kill me. It may sound cliche, but I saw my life flash before my eyes." She continued: "It can happen to anyone. You're not alone if it's happening to you, and you're not exempt if it hasn't happened to you yet." She also revealed her devastation when her mother, Sandra left her dad after falling for Schumer's best friend's father. "One day after school I came home and saw my mother slumped on the couch. She'd clearly been crying hard," Schumer wrote. Her mom was a teacher at a deaf school and heartbreakingly signed the following message to her 13-year-old daughter. "I am leaving your father. Lou and I have fallen in love with each other." Her book isn't all sadness and woe however. Amy also documents plenty of funny moments in her life and details how she met her current boyfriend, Ben Hanisch, online. "We sent each other very simple hellos and short, funny messages ... When we met, we smiled at each other and in that moment, everything felt right." The Girl With The Lower Back Tattoo is on sale now. (US Weekly)

For Suri Cruise, seeing Dad has been a mission impossible. Multiple sources reveal in the new issue of Us Weekly that Tom Cruise has had essentially "no contact" with the 10-year-old daughter he shares with ex-wife Katie Holmes. "Tom hasn't seen or even called Suri in about three years," claims a family source. Alleges another insider, "Tom has no relationship with Suri." In fact, the last time Cruise, 54, and his youngest daughter were photographed publicly was in August 2012, when he took her to Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. (Cruise has two older children, Connor, 21, and Isabella, 23, with his second ex-wife, Nicole Kidman.) Holmes, 37, and Cruise, a devout Scientologist, began dating in the spring of 2005 and announced their engagement that June. They welcomed Suri the following April, and tied the knot in front of more than 150 guests at a lavish wedding at the 15th-century Odescalchi Castle in Bracciano, Italy, on November 18, 2006. Six years later, in June 2012, Holmes filed for divorce. At the time, an insider told Us Holmes didn't want her daughter raised in Scientology and homeschooled by church teachers: "She wanted Suri to go to a normal school with regular kids." In the years, since, NYC-based Holmes and Suri have since been "excommunicated" from Cruise's life because of his religion, according to the family source. (The insider adds that Cruise "still sees" Connor and Isabella, who are both church members.) Many ex-Scientologists have claimed leaders force members to shun anyone who leaves the church. But a rep for the Church of Scientology tells Us, "We never comment on individual parishioners' lives. On the issue of Church religious practices, we do not know who your anonymous sources are but they got it all wrong. The answer to your question is no. Scientologists respect the faith of others, associate with and befriend members of every religion. Scientologists do not cut ties with non-Scientologist friends or family members because they have chosen another religion. Given that Scientology is a new religion, Scientologists often have family members and friends who are not Scientologists and who may practice another faith or no faith at all. This causes no conflict for Scientologists." Cruise's rep had no comment. (US Weekly)
Will and Jada Pinkett Smith Reveal What Saved their Marriage. A couple that has therapy together, stays together! At least that's what Will Smith is saying. The Suicide Squad star has lifted the lid on his 19-year-marriage to Jada Pinkett Smith to reveal how they've fought to stay together. "I've done a lot of marriage counseling," he told The Sun newspaper in a revealing interview about his relationship that has been plagued with rumors of infidelity and troubles in the past. "What happens in a marriage once you do counseling, the truth comes out. And you sit across from your wife and you've said all of your truth and she has said all of her truth. You look at each other and you can't imagine you could ever possibly love each other again now the truth is out." While they've often walked away from the sessions feeling bitter, the superstar insists therapy has made them stronger. "It creates a dark moment. But for me it's the dark before the dawn. When the truth comes out and people have to say who they are and what they think, you get to know who they are. "I think that's the cleansing before you get to the other side that is understanding and moving forward in our relationship." The Men in Black actor, 47, has previously described his marriage as "grueling" and "excruciating," but said: "We are just not quitters." Jada Smith, 44, even appeared to address claims they have an open marriage when she revealed last year: "At the end of the day, I'm not here to be anybody's watcher. I'm not his watcher. He's a grown man. "I trust that the man that Will is a man of integrity. So, he's got all the freedom in the world, and as long as Will can look himself in the mirror and be OK, I'm good." The couple have two children together, Jaden, 18, and Willow, 15. He also has a son Trey, 23, with his first wife Sheree Zampino. (US Weekly)

Lawyers for Shannen Doherty's ex-manager want a few more hours to grill her, and they're not buying any claims she's too sick from her cancer treatments to do it. Steven Blatt filed docs asking for up to 4 more hours to depose Shannen in her lawsuit against his management firm, in which she accuses Blatt of mismanaging her insurance premiums. Blatt's side already deposed Shannen for 7 hours -- the standard time allotted in California -- but that can be extended, and Blatt says his motion should be granted since Shannen's illness hasn't stopped her from partying left and right. According to the docs, Blatt claims days before and after her first deposition, Shannen posted social media pics of herself enjoying the nightlife in NYC and Pittsburgh ... and even traveled to Australia for a fan convention. Blatt adds she's done plenty of TV interviews too, so sitting a few more hours for questions shouldn't be a big deal. Shannen's fired back in docs ... saying it's insulting Blatt insinuated she's not that sick, because she's living her life. She thinks the 7 hour grilling was more than enough, and says she doesn't owe Blatt any more time. We'll see what the judge thinks. (TMZ)
The legal drama is coming to an end. As we reported earlier this month, Kesha dropped her sexual assault lawsuit against producer Dr. Luke in California. The two have been involved in a bitter legal battle that has damaged both of their careers. On Friday, the We R Who We R singer also dropped her abuse allegations in her New York case as well. In court, she told the judge that she is no longer relying on abuse claims in order get out of her contract with Luke's label, Kemosabe Records. For the past couple of months, the Los Angeles musician has tried to appeal an April ruling where the court rejected all of her claims against the music maker. Aside from the lawsuit, Kesha wants to get her music career on track, and has already sent 28 songs to her label. We are eagerly awaiting her comeback. (Perez Hilton)
Rio Police Cannot Corroborate Ryan Lochte's Robbery Claims. Police in Rio say they have found no evidence to support Ryan Lochte's claim that he and three other swimmers -- Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger and Jimmy Feigen -- were robbed at gunpoint while in Brazil last weekend for the 2016 Olympics. Police have been unable to locate their taxi driver or witnesses, and said the athletes have been unable to provide key details in interviews. The swimmers previously told U.S. Olympic Committee officials they left France House and were being driven home Sunday when "their taxi was stopped by individuals posing as armed police officers who demanded the athletes' money and other personal belongings." All four swimmers were unharmed, though Lochte's mom had said they were all shaken. "We got pulled over, in the taxi, and these guys came out with a badge, a police badge, no lights, no nothing -- just a police badge -- and they pulled us over," Lochte later told Billy Bush on NBC's Today. "They pulled out their guns, they told the other swimmers to get down on the ground -- they got down on the ground. I refused. I was like, 'We didn't do anything wrong, so I'm not getting down on the ground.' And then the guy pulled out his gun, he cocked it, put it to my forehead and he said, 'Get down,' and I put my hands up. I was like 'Whatever.' "He took our money. He took my wallet. He left my cell phone. He left my credentials." After talking to the USOC and the Rio police department, Lochte took to Instagram and Twitter. "I want to thank all of my family, friends and fans for the overwhelming support and concern I have received today," he wrote. "While it is true that my teammates and I were the victims of a robbery early Sunday morning, what is most important is that we are safe and unharmed. "I am honored to have represented the U.S. here at the Rio Olympics and to win Gold for my country alongside my teammates. I look forward to getting home so that I can begin to map out the plans for my future with an eye on representing #TeamUSA at the #2020 Tokyo Olympics." The swimmers did not call police, authorities later said. They only began investigating after seeing media reports in which Lochte's mother had discussed the robbery. Police interviewed Lochte and one other swimmer, who said they had been intoxicated and could not recall details about the taxi they were driven in, or where the robbery happened, a police official told the AP. The athletes could not say what time the events occurred, or when they left the French House. Lochte's lawyer, Jeff Ostrow, told the Associated Press Tuesday that there was no doubt the robbery happened. He said Lochte had not left his hotel room since the alleged incident, and the 12-time Olympic medalist had hired additional security for the duration of his stay in Rio. "This happened the way he described it," Ostrow said (via NBC Connecticut). "Ryan was a hundred percent cooperative and fully available when they reached out to us for an interview." Ostrow added, "It doesn't behoove Ryan and anyone else to make up a story." Lochte signed a statement on Monday confirming the facts he provided, his lawyer said. "I know that Ryan didn't want this to turn into what it did," Lochte's lawyer told USA Today Sports. "The Olympics are more important and Team USA's performances are more important." Lochte swam in two events this year, winning gold in the 4x200-meter freestyle relay. (Eonline)
A Brazilian judge has ordered for the IMMEDIATE seizure of Ryan Lochte's passport -- claiming he may have lied about a robbery incident in Rio ... but the swimmer is already back in the U.S. Brazilian authorities have issued a statement to TMZ Sports saying, "Judge Keyla Blanc De cnop, the Special Court of the Fan and Major Events, ordered the dispatch of search warrants and seizure of passports of American swimmers Ryan Lochte and James Feigen." "With this, they are prohibited from leaving the country." Lochte and Feigen had claimed they were together when their taxi cab was stopped and the swimmers were robbed by people posing as cops. Brazilian authorities say they have found contradictions in the swimmers' stories -- and they want to speak with them both ASAP. Officials say Lochte claimed they were only robbed by ONE person. Feigen said there were multiple culprits. Officials also point to surveillance video that shows the swimmers in good spirits when they returned to the Olympic Village after the alleged incident -- not acting like people who were just robbed at gunpoint. We spoke with Lochte's attorney, Jeff Ostrow, who tells us straight up -- "I have no information from Brazilian authorities that they want his passport." "I'm shocked to hear that they would go to such measures in an effort to further investigate the incident as he has been nothing but cooperative with authorities, including sitting for a full interview with the Tourist Police, U.S. State Department, USOC Security, FBI, and anyone else that requested to be present." He added, "Ryan is safely back in the United States." No word on the whereabouts of Feigen. (TMZ)
Kendall Jenner's Alleged Stalker Arrested at Her Hollywood Home, Pleads Not Guilty. Kendall Jenner had a bit of a scary encounter at her West Hollywood home on Sunday evening. E! News can confirm the 20-year-old supermodel had a trespasser -- a 25-year-old man -- on her property when she came home Sunday at about 9:45 p.m. The man was standing in her driveway outside of her gate, and as she drove through, he followed her in, and she quickly called the police, staying in her car until they arrived, according to TMZ. Officials tell us he was arrested for stalking with bail set at $180,000. Kendall -- who just moved into the new home that sits above the Sunset strip a few months ago -- and her famous family have faced several scary intruders over the years. In fact, during the holidays last December, Kris Jenner's house was being decorated for Christmas when a fan walked right in. Officials told E! News that a male with a backpack entered into the Jenner home, being escorted to the property by security of the community after alleging he had a meeting with the famous momager. "It was really scary, " the family member told us of the surprise encounter. Shortly thereafter, E! News learned Kris fired her entire security staff. A family source told us, "Kris Jenner did fire her security guards in the wake of the lapse that occurred. She's currently looking for a new team but is now using security that Kanye uses." The insider also notes the scariest part of the entire incident: "Turns out that Saint [West] and Kim [Kardashian] were in the house during the incident and everyone at the house was really upset that security didn't do their job properly." We're glad to hear Kendall is safe. UPDATE: The L.A. city attorney told E! News Wednesday that the defendant was arraigned Tuesday and pled not guilty to stalking and trespass charges in Dept. 40 at CJC. Judge Alison Estrada imposed $120,000 bail. The next court date is scheduled for Aug. 30, 2016 in Dept. 54. (Eonline)
Court Rejects Bill Cosby's Attempt To Reseal Testimony On Affairs. A federal appeals court on Monday rejected Bill Cosby's effort to reseal his deposition testimony about extramarital affairs, prescription sedatives and payments to women, saying the documents are now a matter of public knowledge. The 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia ruled that the comedian's appeal was moot. "The contents of the documents are a matter of public knowledge, and we cannot pretend that we could change that fact by ordering them resealed," the court wrote in an opinion. Cosby's attorneys hoped a ruling in their favor could help them keep the documents from being used in the criminal case against him in Pennsylvania and in the many lawsuits filed around the country by women who accuse him of sexual assault or defamation. Cosby gave the testimony in 2005 as part of a lawsuit brought against him by Andrea Constand, a Temple University employee who said he drugged and molested her at his home. She later settled for an undisclosed sum, and sensitive documents in the file remained sealed. In the nearly 1,000-page deposition, the married comic once known as "America's Dad" for his beloved portrayal of Dr. Cliff Huxtable on his top-ranked 1980s TV show, "The Cosby Show," admitted to several extramarital affairs and said he obtained quaaludes to give to women he hoped to seduce. The documents were released last year on a request from The Associated Press. U.S. District Judge Eduardo Robreno found the public had a right to Cosby's testimony because of his role as a self-appointed "public moralist" and because he had denied accusations he drugged and molested women. In Monday's ruling, the appeals court questioned that "public moralist" rationale in releasing the documents, calling it "vague and undefined." "While we are without jurisdiction to review this question, it is worth noting that, if we could review it, we would have serious reservations about the District Court's 'public moralist' rationale," the opinion said. In court papers, his lawyers argued that he had been assured confidentiality and that the "private and embarrassing testimony" would cause serious injury to Cosby, "who relies upon his reputation for his livelihood." Gayle C. Sproul, a lawyer for the AP, had argued against resealing the documents, saying that Cosby had not only spoken out on issues of marriage and morality but had also profited from them through books, TV shows and advertising. Cosby's lawyers had said a ruling in their favor would allow him to argue in the other cases against him that the testimony should never have been made public in the first place and should not be admitted as evidence. The release of the deposition led prosecutors in suburban Philadelphia to revisit Constand's 2005 police complaint and charge Cosby in December with felony sexual assault. Cosby, 79, insists his sexual encounter with Constand in 2004 was consensual. He remains free on $1 million bail, and no trial date has been set. (Billboard)
THE OTHER STUFF . . .
Taylor Swift is donating $1 million to help those in need in Louisiana after floods caused widespread disaster in the state, killing at least 11 people. In a statement to the Associated Press on Tuesday, Swift commented that the people of Louisiana had given her a warm welcome when she began her "1989 World Tour" in the state last year. "We began The 1989 World Tour in Louisiana, and the wonderful fans there made us feel completely at home. The fact that so many people in Louisiana have been forced out of their own homes this week is heartbreaking," Swift, 26, said in the statement. "I encourage those who can to help out and send your love and prayers their way during this devastating time," the singer added. As well as those who lost their lives, thousands of people have been affected by the flooding that ravaged Louisiana over the weekend, prompting the governor to declare a state of emergency. More than 20,000 people have been rescued across south Louisiana since the flooding started, USA Today reports. (People)
Michael Phelps Explains That Even Though He's Retiring, He's ''Not 100 Percent Done.'' Michael Phelps may not be fighting for any more gold medals after the Rio Games, but that doesn't mean he's completely ditching his swimming roots. While speaking about his retirement following the 2016 Olympics, the Team USA swimmer tells E! News' Will Marfuggi, "Even though I'm done in the pool, I'm not 100 percent done. Being able to teach kids, not only water safety but healthy and active sports." Maybe one day we'll see Phelps coaching future Olympians? You never know. "With everything that I've done. This is how I wanted to go out. I wanted to go out on top, and on my terms. After seeing everything that went down here, hasn't really sunk in fully yet, but I have a feeling over the next months, years, it will sink in and I might be able to believe," he continued to tell us. "It's crazy to wrap my head around the amount of medals, the amount of races... because it all started as a dream." Phelps, who hinted at the idea of retiring back in 2012, decided it wasn't the right time to let go of the sport just yet. "I'm ecstatic I came back, because I did it the right way. I prepared myself the right way. I put myself through changes I had to make. Nicole [Johnson] and I are in a better place now. We have Boomer. Everything turned out perfectly. In 2012, I kinda stiff-armed my career, I just wanted to be done with it. But now I'm happy, and this is exactly what I wanted it to feel like when I retired." He added, "Two or three years ago, I ended up falling back in love with the sport. When I kinda fell away for a while and wasn't interested anymore, I didn't wanna go through the pain, didn't wanna go through the grind, I found this love again...It was amazing, I felt like a kid again." As for baby Boomer, who quickly became a highlight of the Rio Games, Phelps shared that his Olympic medals are helping him parent. "There was one night he was crying on FaceTime and I was kinda showing him a medal and he instantly stopped crying. I don't know if it was something about the medal. I'll see if that does the trick next time he starts shedding some tears." And when it comes to whether or not Boomer's going to follow in his dad's footsteps, Phelps tells E! News. "He's been in the pool a few times. He doesn't like cold water, so I can definitely tell he's related to me. I warmed the outdoor pool for him a little bit and he's fine. He's always really good at bath time, he loves bath time. He's always relaxed in the water, so he'll be water-safe, I just don't know if he'll swim." (Eonline)

Salma Is Excited for Her Olympian Cousin: "Viva las Hayeks!" What can't the Hayek family do? Recently, we learned that Salma Hayek's family member, Yvonne Trevino Hayek, is competing at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. Now the Mexican long jump star is receiving support for her Hollywood relative, who posted a photo of her and captioned it, "I'm excited to see my cousin, Yvonne Trevino Hayek, (who I haven't had the pleasure to meet yet)to compete representing Mexico for the long jump at the Olympics next week. Viva Las Hayeks!!" The "Sausage Party" star also reminded her 1.7 million followers on Instagram to watch her cousin's competition. "Vamos @yvonnethayek!! Don't miss my cousin competing tomorrow! Go Mexico! #mexico #rio2016 #olympics," she wrote on the photo she posted of Yvonne posing with the Olympic rings. In case you were wondering just how these two are related -- we'll break it down for you. Salma's father's cousin's granddaughter is Yvonne, according to ¡Hola!. The Olympian is the first woman in 48 years to be on Mexico's team competing in the long jump event. That's quite an accomplishment. But it seems that these Olympic aspirations run in the family, because in 2015, Salma posted a #TBT from her gymnastics days. "I wish I could still do that but at least I have proof that once upon a time I was a #gymnast," she captioned the photo. "They drafted me...to be part of the Olympic team! But I was eight or nine and my father said no because I would have had to go live in Mexico City in a boarding school for gymnasts, do six hours, eight hours a day of training, which for me was like paradise," she said in 2012 to the New Zealand Herald. And although her Olympic dreams were cut short, she does not hold any grudges against her father. "My father thought I wouldn't have had a normal childhood, and he wanted me to be normal. It's too bad that with all his efforts it didn't work out! But anyway, it worked out for me because now I'm an actress!" Go, Hayeks! (Eonline)
Jude Law's Daughter Iris Proves Fashion and Creativity Run in the Family While Posing for Teen Vogue. Hey parents, kids are always watching what you say, do and wear. For Iris Law, growing up with parents Jude Law and Sadie Frost was filled with glamorous moments and red carpet looks. So perhaps it shouldn't come as a total surprise that when the famous daughter grew up, fashion quickly became a passion. In the September issue of Teen Vogue, available on newsstands now, the 15-year-old earns a fashionable shoot. Along the way, she shares just how much her parents influenced her fashionable mind. "I like looking at pictures of my mom when she was around my age and seeing her makeup and little dresses," she shared with the publication. "I was always really interested in what she was wearing growing up and did quite creative things with how I dressed myself." As for Iris' style today, the high school student really likes vintage blouses with a touch of lace detailing. Pair it with black trousers and trainers and you have her ultimate look. "I also usually have rings on every finger apart from the thumb," she added. "Most birthdays or Christmases, my dad will get me a ring from Annina Vogel." While Iris' shoot with Teen Vogue captured by Quentin Jones was nothing but a great positive experience, the famous daughter is the first to admit that she loves working behind the scenes as well. After all, it helps with her other passions including photography and painting. "I'll shoot someone, usually a friend, and then I'll base a very intricate oil painting off of that picture," she explained. "I aim to show the realness of a person and really capture them as an individual -- I like painting eyes and veins under the skin." Before you are completely blown away from the smart and beautiful girl, she's quick to remind us that she's still young. Her future careers goals are still to be determined. Chris Pratt just pulled the curtain on what happens on a high-fashion photo shoot, and lucky for fans the behind-the-scenes commentary is hysterical! To celebrate being in the pages of InStyle's September issue, Pratt, 37,-who was named September's Man of Style-shared some of his favorite photos from the shoot. Though the broody portraits are usually enough for fans to double tap on Instagram, the charming actor also provided hilarious play-by-play on just how the wardrobe came to be. "Full disclosure I did not pick out any of the clothes which is kinda funny for a guy who is called the 'man of style' I mostly like T shirts with American flags on them," Pratt commented on one of his black and white photos. "They had nice food spread out. And they played good country music. And there were horses all over the place. I feel like I took some pictures with some horses but those didn't make the magazine. Maybe I accidentally closed my eyes or maybe the horse's agent threw a Hollywood bitch fit for some reason." And just when you thought Pratt couldn't be more lovable? He's just like many of his fans: he loves free swag as well! "The people who picked out the clothes have good style. No doubt. Oh! They even gave me a shirt!!!! Such a nice shirt. Like a flannel shirt but made out of pajamas and the thing cost like $500 or something ridiculous but they just gave it to me!!!" The Magnificent Seven star also wrote in the caption. Plus, the Guardians of the Galaxy hero knows how to make a double denim outfit look so good. "Here I'm pretending to itch my neck in a Canadian tuxedo. Also, I am squinting. And thinking, 'Hmm, is it smokey in here? Am I allergic to smoke? Does it make my neck itchy?" he wrote about another photo. (People)
Hamptons residents were furious when Jennifer Lopez booked the Dog Store in Wainscott, NY, on Friday for a full day of pampering for five pooches. Onlookers were stunned when a black Lincoln Town Car pulled up at about 10?a.m., and out came Jenny From the Block's two boxers, Bear and Rocky, with a handler. Then a J.Lo-style entourage of canines emerged from the car, with two Labradors, Lady and Buddy, then an enormous mastiff called Champ. Sources say the diva doggies got massages, hot-oil treatments, pedicures, grooming (including a wash and blow-dry) plus teeth-cleaning. The luxe treatment cost about $350 per dog. A witness whined, "Every Friday, we drop off our dogs at the spa while we go to Barry's Bootcamp next door, but this time the doors to the spa were shut, and a handler was overheard saying Lopez's dogs were inside. They were there nearly all day." (A J.Lo insider said the star only has the two boxers, which would make the other doggies hangers-on.) We're told Bear and Rocky left at about noon with gleaming coats, and were whisked away in the Town Car, but the Labs and monstrous mastiff didn't emerge until 3?p.m., whereupon the limo was back to collect them. The Dog Store, the Hamptons outpost of the tony Upper East Side pet boutique, has Besides J.Lo's Town Car, Porsches, Maseratis and Ferraris have reportedly been seen dropping off pooches outside. Owner Edward Alava and a rep for Lopez did not comment. (Page Six)
A draft of a handwritten letter by boxing legend Muhammad Ali to his once-close friend Malcolm is being sold off. The seven-page draft praises controversial Nation of Islam leader Elijah Muhammad, while calling other leaders weak. Ali and Malcolm X met in 1962, and were close until they fell out after Malcolm X denounced Elijah and left the Nation of Islam. "How are you going to get free from a White Man [when] you are afraid to make him angry," Ali asks Malcolm X. "How are you going to fight a man that you are afraid to hurt .?.?. we've been following people who are afraid." Ali also writes, "Anyone who can teach me to [be non-violent] and say that I should love my [enemy] .?.?. why, he is the best friend my [enemy] has, if you understand. They are going around here [teaching] all people to turn the other [cheek] .?.?. Jesus said no such thing .?.?. it's [all right] to turn [the other cheek] for [a minute] but don't turn it forever." Ali adds, "No woman wants a man who is always getting his head busted and won't fight back." The letter's going for $35,000 from Moments in Time. (Page Six)
Scott Weiland's widow is unloading her engagement rock on eBay, and the starting bid is a steal for any die-hard fans looking to pop the question. Jaime Weiland, who married Scott in 2013, listed the white gold and diamond band for $8k and then promoted the listing on Facebook. If you're in the market, she says it's 2.74 carats. Jaime didn't provide a specific reason for dumping the ring, other than saying she was 8 months into a new chapter of her life, and the time was right. Scott died in December of an overdose, and she has an ongoing lawsuit against his estate for money she claims she's owed under their prenup. The bling has zero bids right now, but people might be watching till the last minute to keep the price down ... y'know, the ole eBay hustle. (TMZ)
Animal rights protesters blasted Amy Schumer at her NYC book signing for her decision to sport fur -- but Amy says they've got the wrong idea about her wardrobe. This pissed off group busted into the Barnes & Noble where Amy was holding court ... toting signs and shouting at her for wearing a coat this past winter made by Canada Goose -- a company the protesters claim engages in animal cruelty. Amy tries to calm them down by being playful, but they didn't back down. Security eventually tossed 'em. A rep for Amy tells TMZ the whole thing was unfortunate ... especially since the protesters didn't hear her out. The rep says Amy got the jacket as a gift, and once she learned about allegations Canada Goose harms animals ... she hasn't worn it since. (TMZ)

Chief Keef is so anti-sobriety even his birthday cake is under the influence. The rapper celebrated his 21st birthday with a cake straight out of a stoner's dream -- edible blunts and a Promethazine bottle on a 3-tier cake. Settle down, lean users ... it's just a fondant decoration. Cake and Art in WeHo made the sweet piece ... complete with edible frosting paper to recreate Bill Da Butcher artwork -- and the "gold" chains might look tough, but they're just buttercream. For the record: No actual codeine syrup was included in the recipe. We're told Marc Gravelle needed just 4 hours to create the dope cake, which set Chief back a cool $1k. Munchies handled. (TMZ)
Nate Parker Addresses Rape Accuser's Suicide: ''I Am Filled With Profound Sorrow.'' Nate Parker is speaking out after a part of his past resurfaced and made headlines. While a college student at Penn State, The Birth of a Nation actor-writer-director was accused of raping a woman, but he was acquitted of the charges. And Tuesday night, Parker has released a lengthy statement in regards to that ordeal many years ago, and the tragic news that his rape accuser committed suicide four years ago. "These are my words. Written from my heart and not filtered through a third party gaze. Please read these separate from any platform I may have, but from me as a fellow human being," he began his statement on his Facebook page. "I write to you all devastated. Over the last several days, a part of my past-my arrest, trial and acquittal on charges of sexual assault-has become a focal point for media coverage, social media speculation and industry conversation. I understand why so many are concerned and rightfully have questions." Parker continued, "These issues of a women's right to be safe and of men and women engaging in healthy relationships are extremely important to talk about, however difficult. And more personally, as a father, a husband, a brother and man of deep faith, I understand how much confusion and pain this incident has had on so many, most importantly the young woman who was involved. I myself just learned that the young woman ended her own life several years ago and I am filled with profound sorrow... I can't tell you how hard it is to hear this news. I can't help but think of all the implications this has for her family." "I cannot- nor do I want to ignore the pain she endured during and following our trial. While I maintain my innocence that the encounter was unambiguously consensual, there are things more important than the law. There is morality; no one who calls himself a man of faith should even be in that situation. As a 36-year-old father of daughters and person of faith, I look back on that time as a teenager and can say without hesitation that I should have used more wisdom." Parker recalled the event that occurred when he was 19 years old, telling fans, "I look back on that time, my indignant attitude and my heartfelt mission to prove my innocence with eyes that are more wise with time. I see now that I may not have shown enough empathy even as I fought to clear my name. Empathy for the young woman and empathy for the seriousness of the situation I put myself and others in. I cannot change what has happened. I cannot bring this young woman who was someone else's daughter, someone's sister and someone's mother back to life... " He adds, "I have changed so much since nineteen. I've grown and matured in so many ways and still have more learning and growth to do. I have tried to conduct myself in a way that honors my entire community-and will continue to do this to the best of my ability. All of this said, I also know there are wounds that neither time nor words can heal. I have never run from this period in my life and I never ever will. Please don't take this as an attempt to solve this with a statement. I urge you only to take accept this letter as my response to the moment." (Eonline)

Their song is a new version of the band's 1992 hit from their second album Dónde jugaran los ninos?. "I've always wanted to work with Mana, I've been a fan of them since I started singing reggaeton in 1992. They were already my idols and today they continue to be. I never thought I'd work with them so this is a blessing," Nicky said in a statement. John Legend performed at the opening of the "Oculus" mall at Ground Zero on Tuesday -- for VIPs and thousands of shoppers lining the balconies -- and reminisced about working as a consultant who moonlighted at clubs while trying to land a record deal in 2001."I've lived in New York for a very long time. I was here back in 2001 when the city was broken, but we are strong now, and we were able to rebuild," Legend said. "I was trying to get a record deal and I was turned down by every label, including the one I am signed to now. But I kept trying." He headlined a day of events for the grand opening at Westfield World Trade Center, which also included performances by Leslie Odom Jr. and the Harlem Gospel Choir. (Page Six)

We're hoping the "Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood" camera crew got the Brandy shots missing from the clip. (TMZ)
Kiefer Sutherland Steps Out of Comfort Zone on Debut Album 'Down in a Hole'. Kiefer Sutherland has one of the most recognizable voices on television and film whether he's playing agent Jack Bauer on 24 or the action hero Snake from the video game Metal Gear Solid V. But on his debut album, Down in a Hole, which comes out Friday (Aug. 19), Sutherland takes on a very different vocal role. "It's certainly not the thing I am most confident about, that is for sure," Sutherland, 49, said during a recent interview outside of Nashville, Tennessee. "When we were recording the songs... I couldn't help to notice that for whatever the shortcomings of my singing voice are, there were the positives of its uniqueness. And the limitations almost became a strength in a weird way." His father, actor Donald Sutherland, bought him a guitar when he was 13 and he's been playing and writing music as a hobby ever since. He became so fascinated by the music business that in 2002, he launched a record label called Ironworks that released records from other musicians -- including HoneyHoney and Rocco DeLuca -- but he'd only go in the studio himself after everyone else had left. "It was something that was very private and in fact, I had no intention of ever making an album," Sutherland said. He started recording songs intending to pitch them to other singers. When his musical partner and producer Jude Cole heard them, he tried to convince the actor to just cut a record himself. "I am clearly aware of the stigma of an actor doing music and I said, 'Not on your life,'" Sutherland said. "... And he took me to a bar and got me drunk and it started to sound like a better idea." Sutherland describes the music on his album as "Americana singer songwriter with a country kick." He's got so many songs in the can that he's already working on a second album. He was able to record the music in between his TV and film shooting schedule, including a new ABC series, Designated Survivor, which premieres on Sept. 21. Although Sutherland said he hasn't really discussed the music with his famous father, Sutherland's daughter, actress Sarah Sutherland (Veep) has become a fan. "I really care about what she thinks, and I am glad that she likes the music," Sutherland said. "I think she was quite nervous when she heard I was doing it and quite relieved when she heard the record and didn't hate it. So that was kinda nice." (Billboard)
Drake Introduce 'The Greatest Rapper' Eminem on Stage in Detroit. Drake fans who attended his Summer Sixteen Tour date in Detroit on Tuesday (Aug. 16) got a once in a lifetime moment when he introduced Eminem on stage. Marshall Mathers didn't need an introduction to send his home crowd into a frenzy, but Drake gave him one anyway. "Detroit, make some noise for the greatest rapper that ever get on a mother---ing microphone." And make noise they did. Lots of it. Drizzy offered more praise by bowing to his guest. Eminem's cameo at Joe Louis Arena marked just the first time he's graced a Detroit stage since November. Drake, though, has worked these parts more recently with a July 28 show at the Palace of Auburn Hills. After the show, Eminem shared a snap of the pair on Instagram. The heavyweight pow-wow follows an escalation in the beef between Drake and Joe Budden, Eminem's Slaughterhouse bandmate and Shady Records signing. It all kicked off in April when Budden expressed his disappointment with Drake's Views on his podcast and things have since transgressed into onstage jabs and snarky remarks, online trolling and even diss tracks. Drake's tour with Future moves to Pittsburgh's Consol Energy Center on Wednesday night (Aug. 17). (Billboard)

The Lonely Island Share Profanity Masterclass 'F--- Off'. The guys who gave us "Dick In a Box" and "Jizz In My Pants" have a special new message: "F--- Off." The Lonely Island has shared the "F--- Off" musical scene which never made the final cut for the movie Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping. "F--- Off" appeared as a bonus track on the Popstar soundtrack, though the sequence has remained tucked away until now. Andy Samberg's Connor4Real takes center stage in this bubblegum pop parody which has all the hallmarks of typical boyband fare. Until he opens his mouth. "F--- Off" is an anti-authority masterclass in profanity. And your folks (and teacher) will hate it. The deleted scene drops ahead of the Popstar premiere through on-demand services on Aug. 30 and its release on DVD and Blu-ray formats on Sept 13. (Billboard)
Carrie Underwood Tweets U.S. Gymnast Madison Kocian: 'You Ladies Are Killing It'. If winners are grinners, then Carrie Underwood and Madison Kocian should have smiles from ear-to-ear right now. The country star and gymnastics ace are big-time winners, and it turns out they're big fans of each other's work. Kocian, the American artistic gymnast, is in Rio where she collected a 2016 Olympic Games gold in the team event and a silver in the uneven bars. Underwood, the reigning CMT performance and video of the year winner, like most of us hasn't been able to tear herself away from the games in Brazil. So when Kocian admitted on Twitter she was huge fan of the Grand Ole Opry legend, the feeling was reciprocated. Underwood tweeted the Texan, "I am so honored! Thank you! I am a fan of yours as well. You ladies are KILLING it! We are all so proud of you!!!" Led by the outstanding Simone Biles, the U.S. women's gymnastics team has dominated the competition. (Billboard)

Lady Gaga in Talks to Star With Bradley Cooper in A Star Is Born Reboot. Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper are not just motorcycle riding buddies -- they may become co-stars. The 30-year-old pop star is in talks to appear with the actor, who has been nominated for four Academy Awards, in his new A Star Is Born movie reboot, a source told E! News Thursday. This would mark the biggest acting role for Lady Gaga, who won a Golden Globe for her role on the show American Horror Story: Hotel and was nominated for an Oscar for her music. She and Cooper, who is also making his directorial debut with A Star Is Born, have not commented. The news comes about a month and a half after she and Cooper were photographed riding together on his motorcycle en route to a dinner at a restaurant in Los Angeles. The Hollywood Reporter, which first reported about Lady Gaga's negotiations, said the singer had tested for A Star Is Born in front of Warner Bros. Pictures execs and impressed them. The studio has not commented. Beyonce was formerly attached to the A Star Is Born remake and Clint Eastwood was previously set to direct it. The singer said in a statement in 2012 she hoped to work with him in the future. Cooper told E! News in 2015 he would himself be "honored" to work with Beyonce "in any capacity." In the original 1937 movie A Star Is Born, Fredric March played a troubled movie star and Janet Gaynor played an aspiring young actress he helps find fame. The movie was remade twice -- in 1954, with James Mason and Judy Garland and in 1976, with Barbra Streisand, 74, and Kris Kristofferson, 79. All the actors and actresses except the latter two received Oscar nominations for their roles, while Streisand won an Academy Award for Best Music, Original Song for "Evergreen," the love theme from A Star Is Born. Lady Gaga received an Oscar nomination this year for Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Original Song for "Til It Happens to You," from the campus rape documentary The Hunting Ground. She made her big screen acting debut with a small role in the 2013 film Machete Kills and went on to star in director Robert Rodriguez's 2014 movie Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. She also played herself in Muppets Most Wanted. This year, Lady Gaga wowed fans and critics and won a Golden Globe for her performances in American Horror Story: Hotel, her big TV show debut. She also stars in the FX series' upcoming new season. UPDATE: E! News has confirmed that Lady Gaga will star opposite Bradley Cooper in the feature film A Star Is Born. This will be the singer's first lead role in a film, and Cooper's directorial debut. In addition, Gaga will compose new songs for the film, which she will also perform. (Eonline)

Lion, which has the weight of The Weinstein Co. behind it in the U.S. and stars Dev Patel, Rooney Mara and Nicole Kidman, will have its U.K. premiere at the festival on Oct. 12. Directed by Garth Davis, and adapted from Saroo Brierley's memoir A Long Way Home, Lion tells the true story of how a wrong train takes a five-year-old Indian boy hundreds of miles from home. After overcoming many challenges, he is adopted by an Australian couple (Kidman plays the wife). Then, 25 years later and haunted by memories of his childhood, he learns of a new technology called Google Earth and sets out to find his lost family. "Whilst Lion traverses many continents, it has a very special home here at the BFI London Film Festival and we are honored to be a part of it," said Davis. "Dev Patel gave us everything for this story, and this being his home town, makes it deeply special." Patel and Kidman are expected to attend the festival gala screening. Mara is then believed to be shooting biblical biopic Mary Magdalene, from the same production house as Lion, See-Saw Films, also with Davis directing. Lion is due for release in the U.S. on the coveted awards-friendly Thanksgiving weekend at the end of November, the same slot in which the Weinstein's launched Carol, The Imitation Game and The King's Speech. Varsity Blues TV Series in the Works at CMT (Yes, We Want This Life!). Clear eyes, full hearts -- wait, wrong show! But fear not, Friday Night Lights devotees: CMT is ready to fill the football TV show void in your heart that's been there ever since Coach Taylor delivered his final inspirational speech with a new show inspired by another classic high school football movie, Varsity Blues. E! News has confirmed that the network has ordered a script from Varsity Blues writer W. Peter Iliff, so the project is in the verrry early days of development -- but still, you could soon have another Texas high school football drama to convince all your friends to watch. Varsity Blues, which hit theaters in 1999, stars James Van Der Beek as a back-up quarterback who must step in when his team's star QB is injured (sound familiar?), all the while fighting against his football-obsessed dad ("I don't want your life!") and abusive coach. The coming-of-age drama also starred Paul Walker as the injured QB, Ali Larter as his girlfriend (and wearer of that infamous whipped cream bikini), Amy Smart as Van Der Beek's girlfriend, and Jon Voight as the strict coach. CMT is in the middle of beefing up its scripted fare, having saved Nashville from cancellation (praise Rayna James' hair!), ordered a second season of the Billy Ray Cyrus comedy Still the King and is debuting the musical event series Million Dollar Quartet later this year (based on the Tony-winning stage musical about the historical 1956 collaboration between Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins). Bachelor in Paradise Recap: Ashley May Not Be Over Jared, But We Are. Bachelor in Paradise had a tough job to do Tuesday night. We were fairly certain there was no way the way cooler baby of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette could ever top what it gave us last night, from the pizza to the belly button drinking to every cringey thing Evan did, and we were right so far. Tuesday night's episode didn't quite make it to last night's very high bar, but perhaps it would have if it also had two hours to get there. First, we had Ashley's arrival, which was everything we expected but so much more, and so much better. After she informed Chris Harrison that she was only going to cry three times this season, she was, of course, upset to find that Jared was all wrapped up in Caila. What we could not have predicted was that it was Caila in particular that she was upset about. Apparently, Caila had promised Ashley that a) she wasn't going to Paradise, and b) if she ever had the opportunity, she wouldn't hook up with Jared. Caila promised her Jared wasn't even her type! At first, that sounded like a bit of a stretch on Ashley's part, but Caila basically admitted it and even apologized. It wasn't nearly enough of an apology for breaking both her promise and the girl code, and it was such a rude thing to do in the first place that we went from having no real opinion of Caila to deciding Caila might be sort of evil. Most of the girls were on Caila's side, but only because they had no idea what the real story was. She told Jared some of it, and the poor guy was understandably frustrated. He helped Ashley decide to ask Daniel on a date, and she had a great time (even though they brought in some Aztec warriors to pretend to enact a virgin sacrifice, and even though Daniel's way too into the idea of deflowering Ashley), which lasted all of about five minutes before she was crying again. And then it turned out Jared was not really concerned about Ashley, or about how very hard Caila lied to Ashley. He was just worried that Ashley made Caila feel uncomfortable or like she should question her relationship with him. Nick sat down with Ashley to drop some truthbombs like "you will never ever be with Jared," but she believed she was in love and there was nothing anyone could do about it. She pulled Jared aside before the rose ceremony and was basically like, why don't you love me? Jared is too nice to just be like, "I just don't, you're my friend, I won't love you, and you have to get over it," which is what he really needs to do, and in fact we're tired of Jared. Jared's very good at leading everyone on and making everyone feel like he could love them someday instead of just being honest. That's a crappy way to be. We're done with Jared. He's not that great! Elsewhere Tuesday night, Evan continued to be just the most Evan. While Carly wondered if his illness was faked in order to get her into his bed, a medic told Evan he needed to go to the hospital because his ankles were swollen. He saw this as the perfect opportunity for a date, and kinda conned Carly into coming with him. She had fun looking into his ear, while he sat there calmly, enjoying the hell out of all of it. Since he wasn't saying anything weird or awkward, Carly found herself attracted to him again. These two are a mess. Back on the beach, Jen (who?) showed up, and Nick was immediately swept off his feet, thanks to her pickup lines about dolphins having sex for pleasure. Then they got chased off the beach by a bunch of crabs. Good times! Just as the background music and general situation promised to make the rose ceremony literally the most dramatic thing we've ever seen, the episode ended, and we almost cried. We're so spoiled by two hour episodes, guys. Bachelor in Paradise airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC. (Eonline)
'Guardians of the Galaxy' Director James Gunn Proves He Is a 'Bachelor' Superfan. While visiting 'After Paradise' -- the after show for 'Bachelor In Paradise' -- Gunn promised that fans will see a trailer for the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' sequel "soon." James Gunn is an admitted Bachelor superfan, something he proved while visiting After Paradise on Tuesday night. On the weekly aftershow for the Bachelor summer spinoff series Bachelor In Paradise, the attendance of the Guardians of the Galaxy director quickly stuck out amid the show's other guests, all alums of the ABC reality franchise. The hour-long live show, which follows the Tuesday-night airing of After Paradise (which airs Mondays and Tuesdays on ABC), is cohosted by former Bachelor Sean Lowe and After Paradise frequenter Michelle Collins, formerly of The View. The first two seasons were cohosted by franchise host Chris Harrison and Jenny Mollen. After Collins introduced Gunn as a fan of the show, the director shared his excitement over sitting next to twins Emily and Haley Ferguson and then wasted no time sharing his opinions about the rest of their dramatic cast. Though blunt, his extensive knowledge about the show's players shone through in his somewhat spot-on analysis. Of Ashley Iaconetti, the series' infamous crier and self-proclaimed Kardashian lookalike, Gunn said she's a "complete and total psycho." As for Jared Haibon, the object of "crazy" Ashley's affection? "He's a wuss" who loves to have someone with eyes like the "heart emoji following him around." Still, he said he felt bad for Ashley and called her wildly entertaining -- a good save, considering the contestant joined him on the couch shortly after. Another guest, beefy and often-shirtless Canadian Daniel Maguire, also became the butt of the group's jokes. "He was created in a lab," said Gunn. And his opinions didn't stop there. Couple Izzie Goodkind and Vinny Ventiera are "boring" -- "They're no Ashley!" -- Lace Morris is sweet but still a "trainwreck" and when it comes to Josh Murray, the ex-fiance to former Bachelorette Andi Dorfman? "I've been working in Hollywood for 20 years and I'm very good at judging a sociopath," he said. To the big-screen viewers desperately awaiting his Guardians of the Galaxy sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Gunn promised a trailer "soon." The director recently screened a sizzle reel of the film, set to hit theaters May 5, 2017, at Comic-Con. This is Gunn's second appearance on After Paradise. The director, who is a friend to Bachelor producer Elan Gale, appeared during the show's first season alongside Mollen's husband Jason Biggs. (Hollywood Reporter)
Disney, NBC in Battle to Stream Sports. Disney plans to introduce an ESPN streaming service, while NBC is packaging its Rio Olympics coverage through Playmaker. As athletes compete in Rio for Olympic glory, an equally cutthroat contest is taking shape in the sports world -- one for streaming dominance. On Aug.?9, Disney revealed it will pay $1?billion for a 33?percent stake in Major League Baseball's streaming video business, BAMTech, the latest in a string of deals that underscore the value in owning emerging distribution channels. It's a move that, during a call with investors, CEO Bob Iger said will help ensure that Disney brands, especially ESPN, "remain strong, vital and relevant in a totally changed media landscape." To that end, Disney, which has the option to acquire a majority stake during the next few years, will work with BAMTech to develop an ESPN streaming service to offer such sports as college athletics and cricket that aren't available via its cable channels. It's not exactly the ESPN over-the-top service sports fans have been clamoring for, but analysts say it's a step toward acknowledging cable isn't the only way to reach audiences. "When you start to see the content guys like Disney invest that much money into the space, you realize just how important these services are for the future of the digital business," says Frost & Sullivan online video analyst Dan Rayburn. Iger has been careful to note that cable subscriptions are still the best way to monetize ESPN, but during the investor call he acknowledged that in the future Disney could look to hold back content to put on its own platforms instead of a third-party distributor -- though he said it was "really premature" to have those discussions now. The company that would help Disney do that is BAMTech. It's an outgrowth of MLB Advanced Media, which is owned by the league's 30 teams and offers the popular At?Bat app and MLB.tv for streaming out-of-market games. During the 16 years since launching, MLBAM has become a dominant force in streaming video, powering everything from HBO?Now to the WWE Network online service. MLBAM is projected to earn as much as $1.3 billion in revenue in 2016, BAMTech more than $250 million. (An undisclosed piece of Disney's investment will get paid back to MLB owners.) With Disney's investment, BAMTech becomes a $3?billion business and has what MLBAM CEO Bob Bowman calls a partner that "sees the need and understands the vision" that content will be distributed over-the-top. He's long had the vision to spin BAMTech into its own business, the seeds of which were first planted, he says, when it began working with ESPN to power WatchESPN, the network's cable-authenticated streaming service. "That they trusted both our technology and the fact that we were agnostic, that we would give them the best that we give baseball -- that was quite a gutsy move on ESPN's part," he says "Then and there we started realizing that we could start to grow the business." With BAMTech's business booming, it's no surprise other companies are jockeying for a piece. Turner in 2015 acquired a majority stake in video tech provider iStreamPlanet, and NBC Sports has packaged its streaming technology into a new service, Playmaker, that it has begun licensing to partners including the International Olympic Committee. Playmaker was among the services the NHL considered to power its TV broadcasting and streaming operations, but the deal ultimately went to BAMTech, in exchange for $100?million a year for six years and small stake in the business. While BAM may have snagged that deal, NBC Sports digital GM Rick Cordella says Playmaker can compete by focusing on powering the live sports experience. He notes Playmaker is being put to the test in Rio, where NBC is live-streaming 4,500 hours of coverage over two-plus weeks. The broadcaster says viewers already had logged 1.86?billion live-streaming minutes after day?10 of the Games. "This isn't a business we're starting from scratch," says Cordella. "We already do this, and we are a client of ourselves. When you go through a big event like the Olympics, which really stretches you, I think the clients benefit from that." Now, flush with Disney's investment, BAMTech plans to continue to bid for sports rights of its own. Bowman acknowledges that the move will create a complex dynamic, potentially putting BAMTech up against new owner Disney. But he also points to the opportunity to work together with ESPN to bid for rights, noting that the leagues are increasingly divvying up digital and linear rights to multiple platforms. "They see these big dollar signs and, equally important, they see a big footprint and huge traffic," he says, adding, "we're all fighting over the fans and trying to develop the fans of the future." Candice Swanepoel may have just announced the name of her first child.

(US Weekly)

While they've often walked away from the sessions feeling bitter, the superstar insists therapy has made them stronger. "It creates a dark moment. But for me it's the dark before the dawn.

We counted at least 8 armed cops safely escorting Ledecky through the terminal. (Eonline)

Scott Weiland's widow is unloading her engagement rock on eBay, and the starting bid is a steal for any die-hard fans looking to pop the question.

News in 2015 he would himself be "honored" to work with Beyonce "in any capacity." Can the JonBenet Ramsey Case Still Be Solved? Watch the First Trailer For CBS' New Series. It's been 20 years since the murder of JonBenet Ramsey, and the case is still unsolved...but for how long? The Case Of: JonBenet Ramsey will reopen the investigation into the murder of the six year-old Ramsey, which occurred on December 26, 1996, and the first look at the special is finally here. Over six episodes, which will air over the course of a week, The Case Of will use new technology, new interviews, and new experts to reexamine old evidence to try and finally solve the murder, with help from the case's original investigators. According to the trailer, this investigation goes deep. They rebuilt the Ramsey home, chased down old suspects, tracked down the 911 operator who took the original call. The special will include appearances from former New York City prosecutor, retired FBI supervisory special agent and profiler Jim Clemente; world-renowned forensic scientist Dr. Henry Lee; former chief investigator for the District Attorney in Boulder, Colo., James Kolar; leading forensic pathologist Dr. Werner Spitz; and retired FBI supervisory special agent and forensic linguistic profiler James Fitzgerald. In addition to CBS' limited series event, Lifetime will also be airing an original movie about the case, Who Killed JonBenet?, which will debut later this fall, ahead of the 20th anniversary of the unsolved murder. The Case Of: JonBenet Ramsey will premiere on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 8:30 p.m. ET and 8 p.m. PT on CBS, and will air one episode each night thereafter. (Eonline)
"They see these big dollar signs and, equally important, they see a big footprint and huge traffic," he says, adding, "we're all fighting over the fans and trying to develop the fans of the future."
