Footage of LiLo's beach brawl with fiance surfaces. Footage of Lindsay Lohan's beach brawl with ex-fiance Egor Tarabasov has surfaced. In the clip, which was shot by a fellow beach-goer in Mykonos, Greece, earlier this summer, the 23-year-old Russian playboy is seen grabbing Lohan, 30, by the arm after she threw his cellphone from their truck. Lohan eventually climbs back into the vehicle while Tarabasov lingers away from it with his phone. "I realize now you can't stay in a relationship just for love," Lohan told the Daily Mail over the weekend. "No woman can be hit and stay with that person if that person isn't prepared to say sorry." Lohan explained Tarabasov "drank too much and he went crazy," and admitted she tossed his phone after he took hers. Their turbulent romance has been thrust into the spotlight in recent months. In late July, police were called to the actress' London flat following an explosive fight between Lohan and Tarabasov. And while no arrests were made, Lohan alleged Tarabasov tried to kill her in a video documenting the blowup. "When we got home I went to bed and Egor went out," Lohan explained. "A few hours later he came back and when I woke up he was standing over me. He wasn't himself, he was being very aggressive and he attacked me." Although the couple have since called off their engagement, the drama has not stopped for Lohan. In addition to rumors of a possible pregnancy, the "Mean Girls" star says she fears for her life. "I've kept quiet for so long, but now I'm scared of what Egor might do to me and to himself," she said. While Lohan has sought solace through meditation and swimming, her heart breaks at the thought of the future that might have been. "All I wanted was to get married and settle down. I've always wanted four kids, and Egor and I talked about having a family," Lohan shared. "I'm just sad all this has happened now because I've worked hard to get my life flowing again," she said. Glen Campbell's kids desperate to see their father. Two children of Glen Campbell, who is 80 and suffering from Alzheimer's disease, claim his fourth wife, Kim, won't let them see their father. Campbell -- who has released over 70 albums and sold 45 million records -- is living in a Nashville, Tenn., nursing home. A GoFundMe page started by fans for "The Debby & Travis Campbell Defense" has raised $6,495 of the goal of $50,000 as to pay for lawyers. "We ask your help in keeping a family together," the page states. Kim, who did not respond to requests for comment, is allegedly preventing the children from seeing Campbell despite the passage in May of SB 2190, otherwise known as "The Glen Campbell/Peter Falk Bill." This law ensures that no person who has power of attorney or guardianship over a "ward" can deny visitation by family and friends unless specifically authorized by court order. "However, Kim does not accept the law of the land," the page says. Some friends of Glen's blame Kim for exploiting him by putting him on tour and producing a documentary chronicling his decline after he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2010. "Now Kim has become a spokesperson making thousands of dollars giving speeches about how to care for Alzheimer's patients, instead of caring for her own Alzheimer's patient," one friend said. Patricia Sullivan-Webb, the ex-wife of Jimmy Webb -- who wrote Campbell's greatest hits "By the Time I Get to Phoenix," "Galveston" and "Wichita Lineman" -- has known Campbell since she was 14, and tells me: "I am very encouraged that a fan has set up the GoFundMe site and that so many fans have responded." "Most of Glen's fans know Debby from watching her perform with her dad for nearly 25 years. None of this should be in court," says Sullivan-Webb. "It speaks directly to Kim Woolen Campbell's character, or lack thereof." (PageSix)
Amber Heard showed up for her deposition Saturday in her divorce/domestic violence case against Johnny Depp ... but she never took the oath and never testified about a thing ... sources connected to Amber tell TMZ. We're told there was a videographer and court reporter present and Johnny's lawyers were at the conference room table, but Amber never even walked in the room the entire day. She was in a nearby office. Mind you ... Amber showed up at around 11:30 AM -- she was an hour and a half late -- and didn't leave until 9 PM. So, what happened inside the building? We're told both sides were talking settlement but no deal was struck. As for why Amber never entered the room, much less answered questions the entire day ... it's a mystery. (TMZ)
Twenty surfboards stolen from Beastie Boy's Mike Diamond. Beastie Boy Mike D was robbed this weekend of 20 surfboards -- and he is not happy. "If you see any of these or any of the various board[s] that have my [bleeping] name on the stringer A: grab the board B: use a cable to bound that persons hands together C: contact me and we will handle the rest," he wrote on Instagram. "Serious." The New York rapper, 50, learned to surf later in life -- inspired by his surfing son Davis -- and has been known to catch waves with director Spike Jonze and pro surfer Rob Machado. Jonathan D. Krane, Producer of the 'Look Who's Talking' Films, Dies at 65. The husband of actress Sally Kellerman, he worked on more than a dozen films that starred John Travolta. Jonathan D. Krane, who produced the Look Who's Talking films that starred John Travolta, Kirstie Alley and, in the first two comedies, Bruce Willis as the voice of a snarky toddler, has died. He was 65. Krane, the husband of Oscar-nominated M*A*S*H actress Sally Kellerman, died suddenly Monday in their home in the Hollywood Hills, her manager, Bruce Tufeld, told The Hollywood Reporter. "I am totally devastated," she wrote on her Facebook page. Krane also produced the action-packed Face/Off (1997), directed by John Woo, and Mike Nichols' election campaign movie Primary Colors (1998), still two more films that toplined Travolta, whom Krane once managed. Their other collaborations included The Experts (1989), Chains of Gold (1991), Phenomenon (1996), Michael (1996), The General's Daughter (1999), Battlefield Earth (2000), Lucky Numbers (2000), Swordfish (2001), Domestic Disturbance (2001) and Basic (2003). Krane founded the talent management/production firm Management Company Entertainment Group in 1997, and its fortunes soared with the success of the low-budget Look Who's Talking (1989), which starred Travolta as a cab driver who gets involved with Alley, who plays a single mother. Willis' Mikey character can communicate with other babies. The Amy Heckerling comedy grossed nearly $300 million at the global box office, and the sequel, Look Who's Talking Too (1990), also directed by Heckerling, brought in another $120 million. However, MCEG overextended itself when it paid a reported $83 million for the foreign distribution company Virgin Vision and then filed for bankruptcy protection in 1990. Shareholders including Krane -- who resigned as chairman and CEO and whose interest in the company was at one time reportedly worth $15 million -- were virtually wiped out. "A lot of people seemed glad that I failed," Krane told the Los Angeles Times in November 1993, before the opening of Look Who's Talking Now. "I learned that I'm not a golden boy. And I also learned that arrogance can be a horrible trait." Look Who's Talking Now (1993) grossed just $10 million in the U.S. The son of a Los Angeles car-leasing executive, Krane graduated from St. John's College and Yale University School of Law. He was president of Blake Edwards' production company and executive produced the director's Trail of the Pink Panther (1982), Curse of the Pink Panther (1983), The Man Who Loved Women (1983), Micki + Maude (1984), A Fine Mess (1986), That's Life! (1986) and Blind Date (1987), Wiilis' feature debut. Later, he produced Nicolas Roeg's Cold Heaven (1991), starring Theresa Russell; Love Is a Gun (1994), with Eric Roberts; Mad City (1997), directed by Costa-Gavras; and The Lay of the Land (1997), starring Kellerman, whom he met at a group therapy session. They married in 1980. Survivors also include their twin children Jack and Hannah. (Hollywood Reporter)
THE OTHER STUFF . . .
Princess Beatrice and Dave Clark Split After 10 Years Together. Princess Beatrice and her longtime boyfriend Dave Clark have split after nearly a decade of dating. A friend tells PEOPLE, "It is very much a break. It is amicable and mutual. They both need space after a period of ten years to see what they both want." That means they will still be talking and in theory could reunite. "They are both open-minded about what might happen in the future," the source adds. That has led to speculation that they may, in some way, be following the route of Beatrice's cousin Prince William who split from the then Kate Middleton only to reunite a few months later and move towards marriage. The friend denies there was an ultimatum from Beatrice, who turned 28, about settling down. The source suggests that the princess and Clark will be talking about whether they have a future together "once they have had time apart." "Her family are both open minded and supportive. They both need space and lets see where it goes from here." Beatrice's family, including sister Princess Eugenie and parents Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew, are reportedly "completely shocked" by the news. Beatrice's cousin Prince William introduced the couple after they met during a study abroad program at the University of Edinburgh. They met for the first time at a birthday party held by Sean Brosnan, son of Pierce, and the two hit it off immediately. The duo were often spotted out in London and even ran the London Marathon together in 2010. Princess Beatrice even moved to San Francisco and then New York City to be with her boyfriend as he climbed the ranks with taxi app Uber. Until the birth of Princess Charlotte, Princess Beatrice was sixth in line to the throne and required to ask permission from the Queen before accepting a proposal of marriage. Princess Beatrice's mother couldn't have been happier with her daughter's partner. "I call him Mr. Smiley," Ferguson told PEOPLE in 2008, "because he smiles and he's happy. I love Dave. He's cool." "I'm really proud that he's with Beatrice," she added. "Beatrice is so special, it takes someone very nice to be with her-to appreciate how good she is." (People)

"He was actually singing Flo Rida 'This Is My House' on the way over here today," Josh shared with us at a recent event. "I was like, 'He's actually singing!' He's heard it enough to where he can actually sing it now!" (Eonline)
Michael Phelps' Baby Boy Steals the Spotlight During Dad's Olympic Gold Win. Everyone was watching Michael Phelps Sunday night as he won his first gold medal of the 2016 Olympics -- especially one little guy. The Olympic swimmer's 3-month-old son Boomer Phelps stole a bit of his father's thunder as he adorably watched from his mother's arms during his dad's 4x100-meter freestyle relay. Swaddled in a patriotic red and white star baby carrier with his father's initials embroidered on it, the newborn was a stylish hit on social media as photos circulated of him perched on his mother Nicole Johnson's lap next to his cheering grandmother. Yes, even as Michael raced to victory, people all over the world could not help but gush over his baby boy, particularly with his pair of red, white and blue noise-blocking headphones. However, all of the celebration proved a bit too much for the infant since he dozed off just as Phelps emerged from the pool after the win to gift him a stuffed animal and his fiancee a bouquet of flowers. The baby later popped up on social media to digitally cheer for his famous dad. "Thanks for sharing your gold medal with me dad!!! I love you and can't wait til I get to see you," his Instagram account read. The feeling has been mutual for Michael, who welcomed his son in May and is celebrating his first Olympics as a father. The most decorated Olympian of all time has even been wearing custom sneakers with his son's footprint marked on the sole of shoes. "To have our first-born be able to watch -- I'll say this just, in case I come back -- my potential last Olympics," he said during a press conference. "Just so you guys don't beat me to death if I come back, I'm just going to say that: To have him watch the potential last races of my career is something I look forward to being able to share with him." NBC analyst criticized over comment about Simone Biles. An NBC gymnastics announcer came under fire on social media over comments he made about the adoptive parents of American gymnast Simone Biles. The 19-year-old gymnast and her younger sister were adopted by their maternal grandfather, Ron Biles, and his wife, Nellie, after spending time in foster care. Simone Biles refers to them as her parents. Announcer Al Trautwig, though, on air has referred to Nellie and Ron as Simone's grandparents. When a woman tweeted to Trautwig that he should refer to Ron and Nellie as her parents, Trautwig tweeted back: "They may be mom and dad but they are NOT her parents." Trautwig later deleted the tweet. He was criticized by Carrie Goldman, an adoptive mother who writes a blog, "Portrait of an Adoption." Goldman said NBC needs to make sure its commentators are educated about adoption. She says the comments deeply disrespect adopted children and parents. When she was a toddler, Simone and her little sister, Adria, still in diapers, went to live with their grandparents in Texas while their mother struggled with addition to alcohol and drugs back in Ohio. The couple adopted Simone and Adria in 2000 when the birth mother's parental rights were terminated. Ron and Nellie provided the structure that the girls needed and set the foundation that helped produce what could be the greatest gymnast of her generation. Simone is the three-time reigning world champion who has won 14 medals at worlds, including 10 gold, since 2013, and is poised in Rio de Janeiro to become the fourth straight American to win the Olympic all-around gold. Though Simone remains in contact with Shanon Biles, she is quick to correct anyone that calls Shanon her mother. Shanon Biles is her biological mother, she says; Nellie Biles is Mom. (AOL)

Drake Declares His Love for Rihanna Onstage During Concert. Drake's love for Rihanna isn't a secret anymore! The Canadian rapper performed at Madison Square Garden in New York City Saturday night and declared his love for R&B songstress while addressing the crowd. "If you've got love for Rihanna in New York City...cuz you know I've got love for Rihanna," he told the audience before launching into a few of her songs, according to Page Six. The concert also featured Future. Although Drake made it clear he admires the "Work" singer, the "One Dance" performer also flirted with the women in the crowd. "Where's all my New York women tonight at, cuz I've got a night off after this," he teased. RiRi and Drake have been on-again, off-again for what seems like years, but only recently have they officially declared themselves back on -- without making it official (by using a label). Although Drake has loved Rihanna for a longtime, he has never been able to call her his girlfriend. And a source explained to E! News recently why that is. "Rihanna and Drake are hanging out a bit more lately. Rihanna loves Drake, but is still not ready to put a title on them," a source told us exclusively. The "S&M" songstress consistently puts the brakes on their relationship because she isn't ready to settle down just yet. "Drake would make her his girlfriend in a second if he could. It's more on Rihanna, though. They both care about each other and are having a good time spending time with each other," the insider added. "Drake has expressed to Rihanna that he only wants to date her and only her, but she wants to take day by day this time around." Despite the fact that they're taking it slowly, this (unofficial) couple is very happy. "Things are great though and their connection is really strong," the source noted. "Things are progressing nicely." Even though both musicians are busy with their own tours, Drake and Rihanna have managed to make it work. Drake has appeared in Rihanna's Anti tour and the Bajan beauty returned the favor by making a cameo in Drake's OVO performance in Toronto. (Eonline)
Kesha "So Happy" to Continue Summer Tour Amid Legal Drama: "This Show Is the Most Satisfying Show." Kesha is back on the road and couldn't be happier. As her legal battle with Dr. Luke carries on, the "Tik Tok" singer headed to Atlantic City in New Jersey Saturday night to continue her "F--k the World Tour." While fans will be delighted to know the show features her biggest hits including "Your Love Is My Drug" and "Timber," Kesha couldn't help but display her happiness at being on stage once again. "The show I have always wanted to put on has finally come to fruition," she wrote on Instagram Sunday afternoon. "This show is the most satisfying show I have ever been a part of on the deepest, most cellular level." She added, "I'm so happy. See y'all out there on the road creeps." Just two weeks ago, Kesha and the Creepies announced a summer tour that will feature mostly small, intimate venues. At the same time, music lovers will be able to hear a mix of rock 'n' roll and country music. "I thrive from making and performing music, and much like a flower with no sun, my soul slowly dies when I don't get to create and perform. So, for a short ride and in mostly small intimate venues, I will be performing a new creepy creation," she teased on social media. "It's been too long. Until I can release my own music I will be reinventing some of my old songs and some of my favorite songs from my musical idols." She added, "I've handpicked songs from artists that have helped shape who I am and the music I make today. I have missed you, all of you, so if you would like to boogie, come join us. The time has come to get creepy." Kesha's latest performance is the first gig since she filed to dismiss her sexual assault lawsuit against Dr. Luke in California. She will continue to pursue her appeal and other legal claims in the New York courts. "Kesha is focused on getting back to work and has delivered 28 new songs to the record label," her lawyer said in a statement to E! News. "We have conveyed to Sony and the label Kesha's strong desire to release her next album and single as soon as possible." Dr. Luke's team has continued to deny Kesha's allegations. In fact, Dr. Luke's defamation and other claims against Kesha are also still proceeding. (Eonline)

One of reggae legend Peter Tosh's family members totally sold him out -- unloading a couple of treasured pieces of memorabilia to a pawn shop ... TMZ has learned. The late singer's 1987 Grammy now belongs to Dylan McDermitt of LBC Pawn in Somerville, MA. McDermitt says a Tosh family member came into his store about 5 months ago, looking to unload the Grammy for Best Reggae Recording and one of Peter's Martin acoustic guitars. McDermitt jumped at the opportunity and snatched the Grammy for $4k and the guitar for $2k more. He hinted the relative -- whose name he doesn't want to reveal -- was hocking the items due to a family battle over Tosh's estate. The OG Wailer did not have a will when was shot and killed in 1987. If you're interested in the Tosh gear -- McDermitt estimates the guitar's worth about $15k, and $20k for the Grammy ... but it's a pawn shop. Everything's negotiable. (TMZ)

Brie Larson to Make Directorial Debut With 'Unicorn Store' Comedy (Exclusive). The Oscar-winner will also star and produce the indie. Brie Larson is moving to the director's chair. The actress, who won the Oscar this year for her performance in Room, is set to make her directorial debut with the independent quirky comedy Unicorn Store. Larson will also star in the movie and produce it with David Bernad and Ruben Fleischer via their banner The District. Also producing are Paris Kassidokostas-Latsis and Terry Dougas via their company Rhea Films. Hercules Film Fund is financing. Based on an original screenplay by Samantha McIntyre, the story tells of a woman named Kit, who, after moving back in with her parents, receives a mysterious invitation to a store that will test her ideas of what it really means to grow up. The project was at one point to have been directed by Miguel Arteta and to have starred Rebel Wilson but timing never worked. Bernad and Fleischer continued to develop the project and brought it to Larson before she won her Academy Award. Larson is not coming into the project green; she previously co-wrote and co-directed the short film, The Arm, which won the jury prize at Sundance in 2012. The next step was to secure financing. Hercules Film Fund, which co-financed the upcoming Tom Cruise movie Mena as well as Maika Monroe's Tau that is currently filming, was set up to bring European investors such as Kasidokostas-Latsis to Hollywood. Kassidokostas-Latsis and Dougas established 1821 Media and produced Paul Weitz' acclaimed dramedy Grandma for Sony Classics, scoring Lily Tomlin a Golden Globe nomination, and Gavin O'Connor's Jane Got a Gun, the Western that starred Natalie Portman. The deals are freshly inked and the filmmaking team is now prepping for an October production start. WME Global is repping the project and handling sales. Jean-Luc DeFanti is exec producing Unicorn Store as is Anne Woodward. Larson is the newest member of the Marvel Studios family, having become attached to star in company's first female-centric film project, the high-profile Captain Marvel movie. She next stars in Legendary's big-budget creature feature Kong: Skull Island, which impressed the Comic Con crowd with its footage, and reteams with her Short Term 12 director Daniel Destin Cretton for Lionsgate's coming-of-age drama The Glass Castle. She also leads the cast of Free Fire, Ben Wheatley's crime thriller being released by A24. Larson is repped by WME, Authentic Talent and Literary Management and attorney Robert Offer. This ain't no stunt -- a dummy's brains were blown to smithereens when the car in which it was riding got in a car wreck. The stunt dummy was a passenger along with Japanese filmmaker Ryuhei Kitamura -- the man behind "Godzilla: Final Wars" -- when the driver swerved to avoid an object in the road ... then smashed into the center divider on an L.A. street. The dummy was rigged to have it's brains blown out for a pivotal scene in "DOWNRANGE" ... but the wreck triggered deployment. It'll now take 2 weeks to wrangle a new dummy ... which will set production back $30k. As for Ryuhei ... he was taken to a hospital but seems to be in good spirits after joking he was offended the insurance company was more concerned about the prop than him. (TMZ)

It has even been a year since Downton Abbey came to a close, but it seems the reunion rumors are getting stronger by the minute. "There's real talk," Joanne Froggatt, who played Anna Bates on the hit British drama, told me at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's grants gala. "I don't think there's a script yet, but maybe I'm wrong. I haven't seen a script yet. But maybe there is one. I think it could happen. It could happen." The series first aired in the U.K. on Sept. 26, 2010 following by its U.S. debut on Jan. 9, 2011. Downton ended after six seasons in December. During its run, Downton picked up a Golden Globe for best miniseries or television film and an Emmy for outstanding miniseries or movie. "There's lots of talk," said Froggatt, who won a Golden Globe in 2014 for her work on the show. "It's just sort of getting everybody together at the same time." Tom Cullen, who played Lady Mary's suitor Lord Gillinghan, told me shortly after the series ended that says he thought Downton movie was a big possibility. "If they really want to do that, they should definitely do that," Cullen told me at SXSW in March. "I think people would be up for it, people would watch it," he said. "And I think it would be a very nice way to finish it off." (Eonline)

On the episode, Tyler Henry visits Melissa's house for a reading and he's able to connect her to both her late grandmother and grandfather. "She is acknowledging that something happened to her like quickly," Tyler tells Melissa when talking about her grandmother's passing. Moana's Olympics TV Spot Introduces the Lava Witch. Sunday night was full of adventure. In the middle of NBC's coverage of the 2016 Rio Olympics, Walt Disney Animation debuted a daring TV spot for Moana, its upcoming animated adventure movie. In the 60-second teaser, the titular teenager (Auli'i Cravalho) asks Maui (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson), the tattooed demigod of the wind and sea, to join her on a voyage to -- what else? -- "save the world." Maui initially brushes her off, explaining, "I'm not going on a mission with some kid." But Moana convinces Maui that by helping her, he'll finally become the hero he was destined to be. "We've got to go through a whole ocean of bad," Maui warns. "Ever defeat a lava monster?" "No," Moana responds. "Have you?" Later, an undeterred Moana tells him, "The ocean chose me for a reason!" The teaser also introduced the lava witch, who until Sunday had only been seen in concept art. Set 2,000 years ago in the South Pacific, Moana features the voice talents of Jemaine Clement as Tamatoa, Rachel House as Gramma Tala, Temuera Morrison as Chief Tui, Nicole Scherzinger as Sina, Alan Tudyk as Hei Hei and Phillipa Soo as a villager. Ron Clements and John Musker (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and The Princess & the Frog) directed the CG-animated film, while Opetaia Foa'i, Mark Mancina and Lin-Manuel Miranda created original music to accompany it. "From the day I started on this movie, I wanted to see Dwayne as Maui," producer Osnat Shurer said during 2016 Comic-Con in July. "His comic timing is impeccable. He's able to go to the more moving moments readily, and he's one of the nicest people I've ever worked with." Cravalho won the lead role after beating out thousands of other contenders. "She is fearless and has this great spirit about her," Clements said. "She really infused that into the character." Though her story is set in the past, Moana is a modern heroine. "She's going to be a fantastic role model for young girls," Musker explained. "I think it's a great message for young women." Moana sails into theaters Nov. 23. (Eonline)
This First Look at Empire's Lyon Family in Season 3 Is Too Fabulous. We may still have to wait over a month to find out what happens next on Empire, but we don't have to wait at all for more of the Lyon family, or for more of Cookie's clothes. You can get your first look at season three with this new photo of the fictional music industry's most dysfunctional family, exclusive to E! News, and so far it looks like season three is going to be just as fabulous as usual. Of course, there's a lot going on when Empire picks back up next month. The season two finale had Jamal (Jussie Smollett) taking a bullet for Lucious (Terrence Howard), Lucious marrying Anika (Grace Gealey) for legal purposes, and either Anika or Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday) falling to their presumed death off of a balcony. Deaths, sham marriages, and bullets are just par for the course on this show, but that doesn't make us any less excited to find out what's in store for season three. Now, if Taraji P. Henson could let us know where Cookies buys her sparkly leggings, we'd be even more prepared for when Empire returns on Wednesday, September 21 at 9 p.m. on Fox. (Eonline)
Rob Kardashian is going back in his shell ... and his reality show is now on the ropes. Production sources for his new reality show with fiancee Blac Chyna tell TMZ ... Rob has been skipping filming over the last month, complaining that the show is compromising their relationship. We're told Rob believes 'KUWTK' has destroyed his family, and he fears the same will happen with his relationship with Blac Chyna if they put everything out there for the new show. As a result he's been a no-show for various shoots ... notably a big Kardashian shindig in San Diego celebrating his grandmother's birthday. Blac Chyna ended up filming solo. Remember ... Rob quit 'KUWTK' and ended up living in his bedroom for several years. We're told Rob has been hot and cold on the show depending on the week, and producers are concerned about the long-term and getting enough good material so it doesn't go the way of "I Am Cait." (TMZ)
Hulu to End Free TV Service. The streamer's free TV library will live on online via a new distribution partnership with Yahoo. Hulu is saying goodbye to free TV. The streaming service is taking steps to shutter its offering of no-cost, ad-supported television and movies, a core product of Hulu's since it launched nearly nine years ago. Hulu will begin notifying customers of the change over the next few days, and members who have been using the free service will be offered free trials of a paid subscription. Hulu launched in 2007 with a library of free television shows and clips, a move considered revolutionary at a time when there was little traditional-length video on the internet. But the company -- which is jointly owned by Walt Disney, 21st Century Fox, NBCUniversal and recent minority shareholder Time Warner -- has evolved considerably over the years as the streaming landscape has become increasingly competitive led by behemoth Netflix. First, Hulu launched a subscription tier with limited advertising in 2010, then last fall it went ad-free last fall with a higher-priced subscription tier, and it is now prepping the launch of a live TV service next year. Hulu currently has 12 million subscribers. Meanwhile, its free service has become a low trafficked product. That could be because Hulu has de-emphasized its free content. Navigating to the homepage without logging in currently redirects to a page that encourages people to sign up for a free trial. It takes significant work to find the free videos available behind that landing page, though they are available. "For the past couple years, we've been focused on building a subscription service that provides the deepest, most personalized content experience possible to our viewers," says Ben Smith, Hulu senior vp and head of experience. "As we have continued to enhance that offering with new originals, exclusive acquisitions, and movies, the free service became very limited and no longer aligned with the Hulu experience or content strategy." Most of Hulu's free content has been fairly limited, restricted to what's known as the "rolling five," or the five most recent episodes of a current show -- content that typically becomes available eight days after it airs and is usually also available for free on broadcast networks' websites. For example, recent episodes of shows like America's Got Talent, South Park and Brooklyn Nine-Nine are currently available for free, while Hulu's slate of originals and high-profile exclusives remain behind the paywall. But fans of Hulu's free TV service shouldn't worry too much. The company will continue to offer its library of no-cost content via its distribution partners, which include Comcast. Hulu has, in fact, struck an expanded distribution deal with Yahoo for the launch of streaming TV hub Yahoo View. Yahoo is launching the TV site a half-year after shuttering Yahoo Screen, the video service that offered up ad-supported episodes of original TV shows like Community, live streaming concerts and other clips. With View, however, Yahoo is focusing specifically on providing a destination for television to its audience, many of whom are still driven to Yahoo products via its highly trafficked homepage. The internet company's execs say that View, which launches using Hulu's video player and running ads sold by Hulu's sales team, offers thousands of episodes of traditional television, including the last five episodes of shows eight days after they air on ABC, NBC and FOX. As with most of Hulu's distribution partners, the two companies will share in the revenue from Hulu's ad sales. "We're trying to get the best digital content in front of our users," says Phil Lynch, Yahoo vp and head of media partnerships, adding that the strategy for View is very different than that of Screen and its focus on clips and other mostly short-form videos. "This is Hulu content. We are the eyeballs and the distribution platform." View will also serve as a hub focused on the fandoms that emerge around various television shows by featuring added content like clips, recaps and Tumblr-generated GIFs. "It's an amazing place for fans to connect and engage," says Jess Lee, Yahoo's vp of lifestyles products. "We've never had this standalone community destination." (Hollywood Reporter)
TV Ratings: NBC's Olympic Coverage Adds 10 Million on Sunday, Narrowing Wide Gap With London. The third night of Olympic coverage is off only 17 percent from the comparable coverage four years ago -- a best for Rio. After two nights of significant ratings drops from the most recent Summer Olympics, NBC was poised for some kind of interest to boost in Rio on Sunday night. The evening, which typically sees considerable more TV viewing, also marked a primetime showcase for high-profile events such as women's gymnastics and men's swimming. In the prime time hours between 7 and 11 p.m., Fast Affiliate returns from Nielsen give NBC an average 29.7 million viewers. That's up almost 10 million viewers from the night before -- though still off 17 percent from the comparable night for years ago in London. It's still a considerable drop, but not like those on Friday and Saturday, each of which dropped by more than 30 percent. Between 7 and 11 p.m., NBC's Olympics coverage also averaged a 9.0 rating among adults 18-49. That number, like the total viewer stat, is still subject to change when adjustments arrive. The NBC Sports PR account tweeted out Monday morning that the company would release Total Audience Delivery reports, which combine broadcast, cable and digital airings of Olympic coverage, later in the week. Summing those numbers should help adjust the current narrative, which is dwelling on the deep summer-to-summer drops since 2012. (Hollywood Reporter)

"Just so you guys don't beat me to death if I come back, I'm just going to say that: To have him watch the potential last races of my career is something I look forward to being able to share with him." Venus and Serena Williams Lose in Shocking First Round Olympic Upset. In a stunning upset, three-time gold medalists Venus and Serena Williams were eliminated during the first round of the women's doubles tournament in the Rio Games. The tennis superstars, who won the gold in 2000, 2008 and 2012, were heavy favorites to win for a fourth time. But the Czech team of Barbora Strycova and Lucie Safarova managed to pull off the upset, beating the Williams sisters 6-3, 6-4. NBC analyst criticized over comment about Simone Biles. (AOL)

"And all the parenting books told me she would experience extreme separation anxiety and would cry every day when I leave her for so much as 30 seconds. "And she just never did. She was very comfortable," Ivanka added, joking, "She all but told me to not let the door hit me on the butt on the way out." (People)

(Eonline)

"What's wonderful about these girls in my life is, people expect girls and women to be competitive, and we made a decision to love and support each other offscreen and onscreen." (Eonline)
