Overnight bridge deck work scheduled on I-19 south of Tucson

Overnight lane closures will be in effect next week on Interstate 19 south of Tucson while the Arizona Department of Transportation continues work to resurface the deck of the bridges over the Santa Cruz River.

Both northbound and southbound I-19 will be narrowed to one lane at the bridges nightly Sunday, Dec. 11, through Thursday, Dec. 15, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. to allow crews to replace bridge deck seals. The bridges are located between mileposts 57-58 (kilometer posts 94-96).

Both bridges will be restriped Monday, Dec. 12, and Tuesday, Dec. 13, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. No lane closures are required for the striping work, but brief delays can be expected.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
