Craycroft Road closed underneath Interstate 10 for bridge work April 22
Craycroft Road will be closed beneath Interstate 10 from 5 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 22, for bridge work.
Drivers can use Valencia or Wilmot roads as alternate routes.
All I-10 ramps will remain open.
All eastbound I-10 traffic at Craycroft Road has been shifted onto a temporary bridge and lane restrictions are in place around the clock until further notice.
Two lanes are open at all times on the temporary bridge route; however, there are no shoulders in this location.
The speed limit is reduced to 55 mph.
All ramps are open.
Westbound I-10 traffic is not affected.
The temporary bridge will remain in place during the replacement of the overpass bridge decks, allowing traffic to remain on the interstate while the decks are replaced one at a time.
The $3.3 million project is scheduled for completion in fall 2017.
Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions and closures, but it’s possible that unscheduled impacts might occur because of weather or other factors. For the most current information about highway conditions statewide, visit ADOT’s Traveler Information Site at www.az511.gov, follow ADOT on Twitter (@ArizonaDOT) or call 511, except while driving.
