Westbound Interstate 10 closed near Goodyear/Avondale this Sunday, Sept. 10

Drivers should plan for heavy congestion and delays

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has scheduled a pavement-improvement project on Interstate 10 in the West Valley between Dysart Road and Estrella Parkway. Drivers should plan for heavy congestion and delays, and consider traveling before or after the following closure occurs:

Westbound Interstate 10 will be closed between Dysart Road and Estrella Parkway from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m.Sunday, Sept. 10. The westbound I-10 on-ramp at Avondale Boulevard also will be closed. All traffic must exit before or at Dysart Road, and use McDowell Road or Van Buren Street to re-enter I-10 at Estrella Parkway.

Next week: Work on eastbound I-10 is scheduled to occur during daytime hours on Sunday, Sept. 17. All eastbound travel lanes are scheduled to be closed between Estrella Parkway and Dysart Road, as well as the eastbound I-10 on-ramp at Sarival Road. Drivers will exit before or at Estrella Parkway and use McDowell Road or Van Buren Street to re-enter I-10 at Dysart Road.
