           his Symphony Number Six in B minor, "Pathetique," in St. Petersburg,
           Russia, just nine days before his death.
   In 1956 Elvis Presley makes his second appearance on the "Ed Sullivan Show."
   In 1958 Buddy Holly makes his last major TV appearance on ABC's "American
           Bandstand."
   In 1961 Liverpool record store owner Brian Epstein receives a request for
           "My Bonnie" by the Beatles. He set out to find the group and soon
           after became their manager.
   In 1965 Manfred Mann appears on TV's "Shindig."
   In 1968 Newsweek features an article on Mama Cass Elliot.
   In 1968 Cynthia Lennon sues John Lennon for divorce on the grounds of

           chart.
   In 1980 Barbra Striesand and Barry Gibb appear on the cover of Us magazine.
   In 1982 Billy Joel appears on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine.
   In 1985 ZZ Top's album "Afterburner" is released.
   In 1986 Marie Osmond marries for the second time, to record producer Brian
           Blosid.
   In 1987 Sheena Easton guest stars on TV's "Miami Vice."

   In 1994 TLC's single "Creep" is released.
   In 1994 "Endless Love" by Mariah Carey & Luther Vandross is certified gold.
   In 1994 Melissa Etheridge's album "Yes I Am" goes double platinum, while
           Journey's album "Departure" is certified triple platinum.
   In 1997 Dave Matthews Band's album "Live At Redrocks" and The Doors' album
           "Box Set" are both released.
   In 1997 David Bowie is named Britain's richest rock star with a personal
           fortune of $917 million, for the first time putting him ahead of
           Paul McCartney with $868 million.
   In 1997 Boyz II Men's album "Evolution" is certified gold.
   In 1997 Authorities in Monterey County, CA, said John Denver had no alcohol
           or drugs in his system when he was killed in a plane crash on
           October 12th.
   In 1998 Lyle Lovett's album "The Road To Ensenada" is certified gold, while
           Steve Miller's "Greatest Hits 1974-1978" album goes platinum for the
           seventh time.
   In 2001 Over 22,000 attend Tim McGraw's 8th annual Swampstock in Rayville,

   In 2007 Country legend Porter Wagoner, best known for his 60's country hits 
           and for launching the career of Dolly Parton, dies of lung cancer.

           He was 80.
