Today's Jenna Bush Hager Is Pregnant: Find Out the Sex of Baby No. 3. The Today family just keeps getting bigger! Jenna Bush Hager is pregnant with her third child, the Today co-host revealed live on-air Monday morning, shocking colleague Craig Melvin. "I'm pregnant," she confirmed out loud. "I'm only telling because Mila and Poppy found out yesterday in their Easter baskets.: It sounds like the soon-to-be big sisters, 6 and 3 years old, took the news well. "They told the man behind me on the airplane. They told the people at church," Hager quipped of her two daughters with husband of more than a decade, Henry Hager. "It is a shock. It is a lot," she told her colleagues. "We're grateful." "We're so happy for you guys," Savannah Guthrie told the new co-host of Today With Hoda & Jenna. The future mom of three noted she was worried to tell Hoda Kotb considering they just started their new show together, but recalled her having a "glimmer in her eye." As fans have since found out, Kotb recently became a mom times two after adopting daughter Hope Catherine Kotb. "We better check the water in this place," Melvin quipped. As the expectant host joked of her husband, "Henry needs the congratulations because he's a little terrified." During the fourth hour of Today, Hager, who is more than 5 months along, also shared she's having a boy after opening a box filled with blue balloons. "We weren't really trying to get pregnant. We had some fertility issues with Poppy, so we just, you know -- it was a date night," she told temporary co-host Meredith Vieira. "Sorry, mom." Hager added, "It's a little bit of a shock, but it's such great news." Congratulations to the future family of five! (Eonline)
Today's Dylan Dreyer Opens Up About Suffering a Miscarriage and Secondary Infertility. When it comes to fertility struggles, Dylan Dreyer has her own story to share. On Monday during the third hour of Today, the longtime weather correspondent opened up about her previously private struggles with fertility and how she had suffered a miscarriage. "We got really lucky with Calvin," she said of her 2-year-old firstborn son with husband Brian Fichera. "We tried maybe one or two months." Then, nine months ago, they decided they wanted to have another baby, but after six months of trying, the couple sensed something was wrong. As a result, Dreyer headed to the doctor, where she learned her egg count was low and her uterus was two-thirds scarred shut as a rare result of the emergency c-section she had for her son. After undergoing surgery to clear out the scar tissue, Dreyer got pregnant. Just over a month later, the correspondent woke up to non-stop bleeding, which she suspected meant she had lost the baby. She later learned at the doctor the bleeding was a fluke and the baby was still alive, but after a few more days and a return visit, that was no longer the case. "I am blessed with the family that I have," she said before adding, "Going through a miscarriage and not knowing what the future holds is emotional and I just want people to know that I'm going through it, too." During a discussion with her co-hosts, Dreyer addressed the guilt you can face for having one child when other parents can't have any. She also rebuffed claims that you can't be happy for others amid your own struggle. "I'm so happy for [Jenna Bush Hager]. That's her world," she said of her colleague, who announced she's expecting her third child. "This is my world. My sadness doesn't take away from anyone else's happiness and my sadness isn't minimized because someone has a sadder situation." Now as she battles secondary infertility, Dreyer said she will start the process for IVF. "We don't really know what to expect right now," Dreyer said. "A part of me feels a little mad at my body for not being able to do this naturally, but that's why we have amazing doctors and that's why I have a great support system," she said, holding her husband's hand on set. The Today star continued, "God has a plan and I pray every night -- just let me stay out of your way and you do what is best for us." (Eonline)
Going Back to Meat After Eating Vegan Made Anne Hathaway Feel 'Like a Computer Rebooting' The actress went back to eating meat after dinner with Matt Damon Anne Hathaway used to be all about following a vegan diet -- she ditched the animal products nearly a decade ago to lose weight for her Academy Award-winning role in Les Miserables, and kept it up to fit into her slinky Catwoman suit for Dark Knight Rises. The actress even had a vegan spread at her 2012 wedding to husband Adam Shulman. But a taste of fish two years later completely changed her mind. Hathaway, 36, revealed that a little peer pressure from Matt Damon, her Interstellar costar, is what turned her back into a meat-eater. Hathaway and Damon, along with Shulman, were out to dinner at a Michelin-starred restaurant while shooting the movie in Reykjavik, Iceland. Damon told the waiter he would have whatever the chef wanted to serve him, while Hathaway wondered how she could maintain her veganism without causing problems. "So then I was the only chick and I'm the vegan and everyone's just going with the flow," she told Tatler for their June 2019 cover. "So, I asked [she puts on a small embarrassed voice]: 'Is your fish local?' And they said: 'Do you see that fjord [out the window]?'" Hathaway said that she decided to go for it, and immediately felt a positive effect. "So, I had a piece of salmon and my brain felt like a computer rebooting," she said. The mom to 3-year-old son Jonathan previously explained to Harper's Bazaar that she realized her vegan diet was holding her back, especially during Interstellar filming, which required her to wear a 40-lb. space suit. "I just didn't feel good or healthy," she said in November, adding that she was "not strong." And after the salmon in Iceland, she "just felt better." Hathaway also got to indulge in heavier foods last year as she gained weight for a new movie role. She purposefully informed her followers of her new eating habits to avoid the inevitable fat shaming and pregnancy rumors. "I am gaining weight for a movie role and it is going well," she posted on Instagram. "To all the people who are going to fat shame me in the upcoming months, it's not me, it's you. Peace xx." Hathaway later elaborated that she shared that post because she wanted to make it clear that she doesn't care what others think of her body. "It sounds kind of sad to say; I just wanted to enjoy my summer and let everyone know that I'm living in my body and I'm happy with my body, and if my body is different than what you're used to, or what you think it should be, that's [your experience]. My experience is mine, and I'm loving it," she told Hoda Kotb on Today. Another thing that helped Hathaway learn to appreciate her body? Working with the all-female cast of Ocean's 8. "I walked on the set, and my weight's a little up and I'm just aware of it... and I'm in my jeans, and I've done my best and I'm gonna love myself no matter what," she said in June. "And Sandy Bullock looks up and goes, 'You look good mama.' And then Cate Blanchett's like, 'Nice jeans, Hathaway.' And then Rihanna looks up and goes, 'Damn girl, you got an ass.'" "They were just so beautiful and to be surrounded by that much love and understanding, it was just great," she added. (People)
Nikki Reed Opens Up About Mom-Shaming and Her Daughter's "Journey With Food." Nikki Reed is not here for the mom-shaming over how to feed babies and toddlers, and she urges parents to support each other in general. Earlier this month, the Twilight alum and founder of the sustainable jewelry and beauty company BaYou with Love posted on her Instagram page a photo of her breastfeeding her and husband Ian Somerhalder's 1 and 1/2-year-old daughter Bodhi. The post prompted mostly positive reactions but also some mom-shaming about breastfeeding toddlers as well as criticism of moms who choose not to breastfeed their children at all. "I don't believe that mom-shaming is ever OK," Reed told E! News. "Fed, whether that's with formula or breastfeeding or whatever works for your child and for you is what's best. All moms are just trying to do what's best. And for some moms, breastfeeding just doesn't work out, whether that's an issue with milk supply or going back to work right away or whatever that thing is, and it is not our job and responsibility as parents to judge or shame other parents. It's our job and responsibility to support and spread information and uplift and share tips." "Children are born who they are born, that's the one thing that I think I've really discovered is you're a part of it, sure," she said. "And you're nurturing that development and you're hopefully in some way encouraging that development, but they are who they are, and they gravitate towards what they gravitate towards. That's why I wrote that piece on social media a couple of weeks ago just about our journey with food is because I'm a first-time mom, this is my first child so I'm learning as I go." In her Instagram post, Reed also said Bodhi had recently shown interest in also eating food and didn't like it served mushy, so the actress took someone's advice and started her off on finger foods. Reed was recently named a celebrity advisor to Raised Real, a plant-based baby food meal service focused on helping parents eliminate time-consuming tasks of making baby and toddler food while maximizing nutrition. "No one told me that not every baby wants to eat mushed banana and jarred sweet potatoes," she told E! News. "I didn't realize that. I thought it was that you go from breastfeeding to mushy food to solid food to finger food and that's just the way that is it." The Twilight star added, "That's something that I discovered that all kids are different and they're all on their own path, and I really felt compelled to share that because the second a mom shared that with me and I discovered Raised Real, that was what led me to discovering Raised Real was finger foods. The second I discovered that, I was like, 'Wow, what a relief.'" "I was a genuine fan of the company," she told E! News. "I was just another mom who discovered a wonderful and let's face it, convenient -- which is what all moms are looking for -- stress-free way of incorporating this into our daily life." "I think that all moms are on this journey of trying to make the best decisions they possible can for their kids," she said. "That's what all moms want in the whole world, that's it! And so as we sometimes face challenges in those areas, I think it's really important for us to be supportive and also vocal about the things that we discover along the way." In her interview with E! News, Reed also talked about Somerhalder's parenting skills. "I think it's really beautiful to know that you're aligned with your partner and important as you become parents to talk about those things before the journey begins, and during the journey and keep an open line of communication," she said. "Luckily, we have a very similar approach to lifestyle and to parenting, which is wonderful. And I'm sure you can imagine what it's like to see him as a dad, he's a very, very special, very caring person and I knew that by the way he parented our animals prior stepping into this chapter."
