Nighttime ramp closures on eastbound I-10 scheduled east of Tucson next week
Motorists traveling on eastbound Interstate 10 east of Tucson will encounter nighttime ramp closures next week.
Paving operations will require the following ramp closures between Tucson and Benson on eastbound I-10:
- The on- and off-ramps at Mescal Road/J-Six Ranch Road (Exit 297) will be closed from 10 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 24) until 8 a.m. Monday (Jan. 25). During this closure, eastbound motorists can continue to Skyline Road (Exit 299) and return to Mescal/J-Six using westbound I-10. Motorists wishing to take eastbound I-10 from Mescal/J-Six can take westbound I-10 to Empirita Road (Exit 292) and return to eastbound I-10.
- The on- and off-ramps at Skyline Road (Exit 299) will be closed from 10 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 27) until 8 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 28). Eastbound I-10 motorists can continue to State Route 90 (Exit 302) and return to Skyline using westbound I-10. Motorists wishing to take eastbound I-10 from Skyline Road can take westbound I-10 to Mescal/J-Six (Exit 297) and return to eastbound I-10.
The westbound ramps at these exits will remain open during the eastbound closures.
The work is part of a $15.1 million project to repave approximately 17 miles of I-10 in both directions and replace the westbound I-10 bridge at Davidson Canyon, located 20 miles east of Tucson.
ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
