Utility work to bring travel restrictions on SR 86 at Valencia Road Sunday morning


Motorists traveling on State Route 86 (Ajo Way) near Valencia Road may encounter delays Sunday (Jan. 31) during morning utility work.

Both eastbound and westbound SR 86 will have intermittent closures between 7 a.m. and noon Sunday for installation of fiber optic cable. Delays of up to 15 minutes can be expected.

ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
