It's not only men whose eyes are drawn like a magnet to exposed cleavage, but also women. Yes, women so enjoy looking at other women's bosoms that they often can't peel their eyes away. Wait... what? Don't mess with science. Sarah Gervais and Michael Dodd, psychologists from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, used eye-tracking technology to map the visual behavior of 65 men and women as they viewed 30 images of 10 different females with different body types. The photos had been manipulated to enhance or decrease each woman's sexualized body parts. And the results were surprising: Both men and women tended to move their eyes to the photographed woman's breasts and then focus there. Gervais said she was surprised at how strongly women's visual patterns suggest they objectify other women. Why do women look at other women's breasts? It's most likely as a form of social comparison, as they view themselves in relation to other women and assess how they measure up. There was one difference between men and women: The men rated women higher when they had curvy, hourglass figures, while women made no such distinction.
