Going into its 18th year, the Music Cafe features singer/songwriters performing daily from Jan. 22-29 at the Rich Haines Gallery on Main Street in Park City, Utah. Performances begin at 2 p.m. and are open to all festival credential holders. Also on the bill are Lissie, Tift Merritt, Yoshiki and Toshi of X Japan (the subjects of a music documentary premiering at Sundance), Air Traffic Controller, Green River Ordinance, Other Lives, Billy Raffoul, Motopony, Sibling, Alicia Witt and others. Added this year is a Bluebird in the Round session on Jan. 27-28, featuring top Nashville songwriters Chris DeStefano, Ashley Gorley and Josh Osborne, who will perform their songs made famous by Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, Blake Shelton, Kenny Chesney and more. "Our longtime partnership with Sundance Film Festival continues to thrive because music will always be essential to a great film," says ASCAP assistant VP and Music Cafe producer Loretta Munoz. "Both ASCAP and Sundance Institute are dedicated to developing and supporting great art and the people that create it." (Billboard)
