Eastbound I-10 ramp to State Route 83 to close briefly Tuesday morning

Maintenance work will require a two-hour closure of the off-ramp from eastbound Interstate 10 at State Route 83 on Tuesday morning.

The eastbound I-10 off-ramp at Exit 281, located east of Tucson, will be closed to traffic from 10 a.m. until noon on Tuesday (June 28).

During this restriction, eastbound I-10 motorists can use Wentworth Road/Colossal Cave (Exit 279) and use the frontage road to access SR 83.

The work is part of a $15.1 million project that improved 17 miles of I-10 between Tucson and Benson and replaced the westbound I-10 bridge at Davidson Canyon.

The project is winding down, with minor construction and maintenance activities scheduled through July.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule. To stay up-to-date with the latest highway conditions around the state, visit the ADOT Traveler Information Center atwww.az511.gov or call 511.
