ADOT works to inform the public about planned freeway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule. The Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) improvement project is adding one new general travel lane in each direction between Loop 101 and Gilbert Road and one High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane in each direction between Gilbert and Broadway roads.
