Hilary Duff Is ''Casually Dating'' Her Trainer Jason Walsh. It looks like Hilary Duff's relationship with her trainer Jason Walsh took a romantic turn! The actress and her fitness guru, who have been seen enjoying each other's company for some time now, are "casually dating," a source tells E! News. The casually clad couple were most recently spotted stepping out together in Manhattan's Soho neighborhood earlier Monday. Duff was strutting a striped long-sleeve tee with denim shorts and a black hat, while her beau rocked a black cap and shades with his plain gray T-shirt and jeans. The pair have been spending a lot of time with each other in recent months, both in the gym and out at various restaurants to enjoy some fine dining, and it seems this budding romance began as a friendship between the two. "They weren't all over each other. He's her trainer and they hang out," a source previously told E! News. "They hang out and they are friends." Ah, a love story that begins with friendship... Duff and Walsh were also recently spotted on a dinner date at pizzeria il Fico in Los Angeles. The duo enjoyed some slices while watching Kobe Bryant's last basketball game in the NBA. "It was just the two of them, but it was a busy night, so the restaurant was packed and they were watching the game like everyone else," an insider tells E! News. "They looked like they were having fun, because the game was crazy, but I didn't notice them acting affectionate or anything. They were just watching and cheering with everybody in the restaurant." Along with new love, Duff has something else to celebrate, too! Sounds like a great start to her summer. (Eonline)
Does Halle Berry have a new guy?? Amid her divorce from Olivier Martinez, the X-Men actress was seen getting cozy with a mystery man in New York City! The two held hands as they made their way out of BondST restaurant on Monday night, and they even snuggled up into each other's arms as they strolled around the city. Sounds like a date to us! The actress and the silver fox looked happy as they kept close. And clearly this twosome felt comfortable with each other, as they each looked super casual with their camo and denim looks. Very interesting! We wonder if we'll be seeing a lot more of them together in the future! (Perez Hilton)
Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise spent Father's Day without star dad Tom Cruise, spies said. The mother and daughter had lunch with friends at Serafina East Hampton -- where Suri "caused a fun ruckus" at the eatery. "They were there with a woman and two other kids. Suri and her friends were playing, and running around the restaurant," said a spy. "It looked like they were playing tag .?.?. Running from table to table, but the customers didn't mind. They were just laughing and happy running around the patio." Outgoing Suri even made new friends "with kids who were sitting at the next table. I don't think they knew they were 'famous.' She was so chatty .?.?. Suri and Katie were very friendly and said goodbye to the staff and a few customers on the way out," our insider said. Meanwhile, Suri's dad is currently filming "The Mummy" in Morocco. In Touch reported this month that Cruise has not seen Suri in 1,000 days. In 2012, Cruise sued the mag's parent company, Bauer Media, for reporting that he "abandoned" Suri. (US Weekly)
Demi Lovato Just Quit Twitter and Instagram: "Why Do People Actually Give a F--k What I Say?" Demi Lovato is saying goodbye to social media, well almost. To the surprise of many fans, the "Cool for the Summer" singer announced on Twitter that she would be leaving two popular social media platforms. "Damn I gotta quit sayin s--t. Bye Twitter," she shared Monday afternoon. "And Insta." So how are Lovatics supposed to keep in contact with their favorite singer? On the bright side, we still have the always addictive Snapchat. "I like Snapchat cause I don't have to see what some of y'all say," she admitted. "Follow me if you want: theddlovato. But why do people actually give a f--k what I say?? Like if you don't care the gtfo haha." As many followers know, Demi tries to keep it real on social media all day, every day. Whether slamming Internet trolls, empowering fans with messages or dropping major career news, the "Neon Lights" singer's words have helped her maintain more than 36 million followers. But for those wondering what caused this break, nobody seems to know for certain. Before Demi signed off for good, the singer dropped two more tweets that have fans speculating. "That one time I started my own charity providing mental health care for people who can't afford it and this is what y'all talk about," she shared. "And people wonder what's wrong with the world. Pay more attention to good than bad." Perhaps the break is simply because she has a busy schedule in the coming weeks. In addition to going on tour with the one and only Nick Jonas, the "Skyscraper" singer is also maintaining businesses including her Devonne skincare line. Or maybe the talented artist just needs to give her heart social media a break. (Eonline)
Charlie Sheen Compares Announcing HIV Diagnosis to "Being Released From Prison." For Charlie Sheen, hiding his HIV-positive diagnosis was a massive burden, emotionally and financially, to bear. After making the national announcement on Today in late November after years living with the secret, the former Two and a Half Men actor had hoped that the reveal would put an end to alleged ongoing blackmailing and personal ridicule. Overall, the current LELO HEX condoms spokesman certainly feels like a weight has been lifted from his life. "It was like being released from prison," he told Matt Lauer of making the confession on live television. "[It] unearthed the stepping stones to a rubicon of change." As for those who were extorting Sheen, he said they are "all sort of going back to the woodwork where they belong." When asked about ongoing lawsuits against the Golden Globe winner, including one from his ex-girlfriend Brett Rossi, who claims he never notified her of his positive diagnosis while having unprotected sex, Sheen says they "do not have merit." "No one has been infected," he declared. "There was two examples [of untold women], but protection was always in place and it was for the right reasons because everyone that I had told up until that moment had shaken me down." While he is confident he "will prevail" in his legal battles, the actor's health is currently as good as it can be. "I'm undetectable as we sit here today," he said, later pointing out a doctor in the audience who travels with him and helps administer weekly shots as part of a new FDA trial. The actor is presently pleased with the results, adding that he does not suffer from depression or "shades of dementia" as he had before. It's a swift turn from the progress he witnessed while off of his medication and under alternative treatment from a Mexican doctor. "That didn't go so well," he said. "I went from 0 to 7,000." Sheen has since resumed with the regular treatment. Personally, the Anger Management star has also been under fire from his ex-wife Brooke Mueller for owing $89,000 in child support for his twin sons, Bob and Max. In March, Sheen sought to reduce his child support payments to Mueller as his income has "changed significantly since the time the judgment entered in 2011," according to the court papers. During the interview with Lauer, Sheen said his finances are "fine" and it "ebbs and flows." However, when asked if he can pay his child support, he replied, "of course I can." Currently, Sheen is focusing on spending more time with his children to avoid any future regret. "I regret not using a condom the one or two times when this whole thing happened. I regret ruining Two and a Half Men. I regret not being more involved in my children's lives growing up, which I am now," he admitted. However, he believes it's time to focus on what lies ahead. "We can only move forward from today," he concluded. "They wouldn't call it the past if it wasn't." (Eonline)
Selma Blair Taken to Hospital After Being Removed From Plane Following Reported Outburst. Unfortunately, Selma Blair didn't have a smooth flight home. The actress was taken to a local hospital on Monday after being removed in a stretcher from her Delta flight to Los Angeles for having a reported outburst mid-flight. "She was met by paramedics at LAX as soon as her plane arrived," a source tells People. "It looks like she had taken a combination of prescription medication with alcohol. We don't know what sort of prescription medications." Additionally, the Los Angeles Fire Department tells E! News that they responded to a call at "2:54 p.m. for an individual that was sick on a plane and transported the individual to a local hospital." TMZ, who first reported the story, alleges that the actress was enjoying a glass of wine in first class when she started to cry and talk about fears regarding an unidentified man. "He burns my private parts. He won't let me eat or drink," she reportedly stated. "He beats me. He's going to kill me." After nurses on the flight tended to Blair and checked her bags, the pilot reportedly called to state there was a passenger mixing medication with alcohol. E! News has reached out to Blair's rep for comment. Blair was on the flight with her 4-year-old son Arthur Saint, and the pair were returning from a Father's Day trip to Cancun, Mexico, where they met with her ex and Arthur's father, Jason Bleick. A source tells E! News Selma appeared really happy in Mexico and that it looked like a normal family vacation. "She wasn't there to party," the source added, noting that the exes and their son were seen playing on the beach and enjoying the spa. The trio stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel Rivera Maya where Blair indulged in a massage at the Rock Spa and relaxed with their hydrotherapy services. "Arthur was so happy to spend the weekend with his family, giving his mom lots of hugs and kisses on their beach getaway," the hotel tells us. "Selma and Jason got cozy in a cabana where they played with son, Arthur, and the family was spotted laughing, building sand castles and playing beach games. The actress had a relaxing and healthy weekend, where she worked out daily and spent time with her family." (Eonline)
Anton Yelchin died within a minute of being pinned between his Jeep and his security gate ... this according to sources connected with the investigation. Yelchin, who was found dead early Sunday morning at his San Fernando Valley home, suffered severe injuries to his chest and head ... this according to our sources. We're told the Jeep was crushing against his lungs and investigators believe he died within 1 minute of impact. We're told the 27-year-old actor had no history of drugs, and no prescriptions or alcohol were found in the vehicle. Investigators determined Yelchin was not known to smoke marijuana. We're also told there were security cameras trained on the gate and police are looking to see if they captured the accident. As we reported, the Jeep had been recalled a month earlier because the e-shift created a dangerous situation where drivers put the vehicle in neutral, thinking it was in park. (TMZ)
Kylie Jenner has an admirer so desperate to get at her, he's tried to bust through her security gate multiple times ... TMZ has learned. Law enforcement sources tell us the uninvited man showed up at The Oaks -- the gated community where Kylie, Khloe and Rob Kardashian all live -- and told security guards he was there for a meeting with Kylie. When guards turned him away ... the man rammed into the gate, cracked it and then sped away. We're told he returned a couple weeks later and pulled the same routine -- once again cracking the gate and fleeing, but it wasn't a clean getaway. Security cameras captured his license plate, and cops tracked him down. We're told they interviewed the guy, and he admitted to ramming the gate out of frustration because the guards were "rude." He's now been charged with 2 misdemeanor charges of vandalism. As we've reported, Kylie is selling the house -- and after several creepy situations... we're told all potential buyers have to go through heavy vetting. One source said it's now like "getting into Fort Knox." (TMZ)
T.I. and Tiny are defending daughter Zonnique Pullins after her arrest last week for carrying a semi-automatic handgun through a TSA checkpoint. Sources tell us Zonnique had been trying to catch a last-minute flight out of Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport to see her boyfriend, and she grabbed the wrong purse ... not realizing the gun was inside. We're told Tiny actually went with Zonnique to buy the .38 caliber pistol after the 20-year-old aspiring singer started getting threats on social media, and a fan grabbed her at a recent listening party. Our sources say T.I. and Tiny both agreed she needed protection. Zonnique failed to produce the right docs for TSA agents because Tiny was holding them. Wouldn't have mattered anyway ... it's illegal to have a gun in your carry-on. We're told T.I. picked up his daughter from the airport, and already hired a lawyer for her. (TMZ)
The jogger who rock legend David Crosby hit with his car ... is getting $3 million to settle a lawsuit. Jose Luquin sued Crosby over last year's accident in California's wine country ... where the singer, doing 55 mph in a Tesla, hit Luquin as he was jogging with his 14-year-old son. Luquin suffered a broken leg, arm, and shoulder and also damaged a kidney. As we reported ... Crosby himself called 911, and told responding officers he had not been drinking. However, in the lawsuit filed by Luquin's attorney James McKiernan ... Luquin claimed Crosby had ingested "alcohol and/or prescription drugs and/or non-prescription drugs and/or other intoxicants and hallucinogens." In the settlement -- first reported by CalCoastNews.com -- Crosby did not cop to being intoxicated. Luquin is getting $2,950,000 and his son is getting $50,000. It's unclear if that's coming out of Crosby's pocket or his insurance company. We've reached out to Crosby's camp ... no word back. (TMZ)
Real Housewives Star Lauri Peterson's Son Arrested on Suspicion of Attempted Murder in California Shooting. Joshua Waring, the son of former Real Housewives of Orange County star Lauri Peterson, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder early Monday, police said. The arrest took place hours after the shooting, following a police chase in Santa Ana. Waring, 27, is alleged to have shot a 35-year-old man in the lower torso, according to police. Waring and a San Juan Capistrano resident were also both arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft, hit and run and felony evading police. Waring's bail was set at $1 million. According to police, the shooting was a result of a disagreement, but authorities haven't determined what it was about. Police said Waring fled the scene in a stolen 2011 BMW X3 SUV, which an Orange County Sheriff's Department helicopter spotted in Santa Ana eight hours later. During the chase, the SUV crashed and Waring tried to run away, choosing to hide out in a store. "After a brief standoff, he surrendered without further incident to the Santa Ana police," Costa Mesa police said in a news release. This isn't the first time Waring has been arrested, according to the Los Angeles Times. Waring recently pleaded not guilty to felony drug and forgery charges in May, which included possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. Prior to that, in 2008, Waring pleaded guilty to three felony counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and six misdemeanors related to drug use or possession. Peterson appeared on Bravo's hit reality series from 2006 to 2008. (Eonline)

Broadway's Biggest Stars Perform Cover of "What The World Needs Now" to Raise Money for Orlando Shooting Victims. Broadway's biggest stars have united under one melody with the hope to raise money for the victims of the Orlando shooting, including the families who lost loved ones in the June 12 attack at Pulse nightclub that left 49 people dead and more than 50 others injured. Over 60 stars and singers of note -- including Sara Bareilles, Billy Porter, Sarah Jessica Parker and Whoopi Goldberg -- collaborated on a rendition of Burt Bacharach's "What The World Needs Now," which they coined "Broadway for Orlando." Just three days after the shooting, the artists gathered at Avatar Studios in New York City to record their call for peace and love. Available for purchase on both the Broadway Records website and iTunes, 100 percent of profits will go towards relief efforts under the LGBT Center of Central Florida. As of June 19, the center had collected $423,909 in victim relief donations and counting. Bareilles, who wrote the songs for the stage musical Waitress, shared an audio-less video on Instagram of her and her costars singing at the recording studio, writing, "Asking for more love in the name of #BroadwayforOrlando with just about every huge heart on Broadway and Beyond. @sethrudetsky and co have done wondrous things and I am honored to be among the voices lifted in love. I'm saving the sound so you hear the finished product. #yawelcome #love." Broadway Records President Van Dean; SiriusXM Radio host Seth Rudetsky, who mans the Broadway channel; and producer James Wesley championed the charitable initiative in conjunction with Playbill and Avatar Studios. Parker added on social media, "I was so honored that my friends @sethrudetsky, James Wesley and Marc Shaiman invited me to join so many from the Broadway community who arrived with their big gorgeous voices and their even bigger hearts to sing 'What the World Needs Now'. Because it's true." According to its website, the LGBT Center of Central Florida serves to "promote and empower the LGBT Community and its allies through information, education, advocacy and support." (Eonline)

Oliver Stone will be awarded one of the highest honors at the Nantucket Film Festival in Massachusetts this weekend, even though his latest documentary, "Ukraine on Fire," advances Kremlin propaganda that the "CIA's fingerprints are all over the Kiev massacre." "Late Night" host Seth Meyers will emcee as "Foxcatcher" director Bennett Miller presents the award to Stone -- director of "JFK," "Platoon" and "Wall Street." Stone, who has also made flattering films about Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez, was given exclusive access to Russian strongman Vladimir Putin and former president of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych. In a just-released trailer for "Ukraine on Fire," Yanukovych claims "the whole [Euromaidan unrest] process was headquartered in the US embassy." Meanwhile, Stone's "Snowden" -- with Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the CIA traitor/whistleblower and Shailene Woodley as his girlfriend -- is due in theaters Sept. 16, in prime time for awards season. Is Katy Perry's New Perfume Throwing Shade at Taylor Swift? We're picking up a sent of "Bad Blood," but this time it's coming out of a perfume bottle. Katy Perry and Taylor Swift 's rumored feud, which began when the "Style" songstress claimed that an unnamed pop star (believed to be Perry) stole dancers from her tour, might have reached a new level thanks to Katy's new perfume. Called Mad Love, the new perfume has people believing that it's a direct reference to T. Swift's "Bad Blood" because of the same wording. "You know it used to be mad love," Taylor sang in the song also rumored to be about her ongoing feud with the "Roar" singer. Mad Love is meant to be a spinoff of Katy's 2015 scent, Mad Potion, so it's entirely possible that it's just a coincidence. Taylor, 26, opened up about the feud to Rolling Stone in 2014 when she called out an anonymous artist for trying to sabotage her and her tour. "For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?'" she recalled to Rolling Stone. Then last year, the other star apparently crossed a line, according to T. Swift. "She did something so horrible, I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.' And it wasn't even about a guy!" Since then, both pop stars have gone back and forth naysaying each other to the media. "Watch out for the Regina George in sheep's clothing..." Perry cryptically tweeted. More than a year later, Taylor opened up to GQ about her megahit song and claimed people would have assumed it was about a guy if she didn't steer her fans into believing it was about someone else. "I never said anything that would point a finger in the specific direction of one specific person, and I can sleep at night knowing that," she told the magazine. "I knew the song would be assigned to a person, and the easiest mark was someone who I didn't want to be labeled with this song. It was not a song about heartbreak. It was about the loss of friendship." The magazine pointed out that no one ever speculated if "Bad Blood" was written about a guy. "But they would have," Taylor insisted. "So I don't necessarily care who people think it's about. I just needed to divert them away from the easiest target." (Eonline)
The Hadid sisters seem to be taking over the world of hair. On Monday night we saw Gigi rock a never ending braid and now Bella has taken it to the next level with pink platinum lengths. The look was created by hair genius, Sam McKnight who kept Bella's natural brunette root color and created a gorgeous pink dip-dye with hues of rosey blonde and petal pink. Sam McKnight shared the snap on his Instagram with the accompanying caption, "Always good to spend a day with Bella Hadid." We're rather obsessed with Bella's new look- let's hope she keeps it! Last week, Cheryl Fernandez Versini attended the wedding of Liam Payne's sister, Sarah, and she received some flack over the long grey maxi dress she wore. Now, Sarah has lept the singer's defense, Monday night tweeting that Cheryl was "one of the most beautiful women in the world". So far it has over 4,000 likes but Cheryl has not responded herself yet. Sarah married her childhood sweetheart, Thomas Gibbins, in Wolverhampton with all her family in attendance. (British Glamour)
Iggy Azalea was dead serious about getting Nick Young out of her life -- 'cause the classic car she gave him for Xmas was just towed away from her home. Iggy gave Nick the 1962 Chevy Impala for Christmas back in 2014 -- much MUCH happier times. Nick loved the car and drove it to Lakers practice to show it off right after he got it. But that was before things went sour -- and, with Iggy announcing that she dumped him over the weekend, seems she wasted no time getting his ride out of the house. (TMZ)
Drake Loses $60,000 Bet to French Montana Over LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. When you don't believe in LeBron James, you end up losing...just ask Drake (and half the people watching the game Sunday night). The Views rapper supposedly lost a $60,000 bet to French Montana over Game 7 of the NBA finals, during which James and the Cleveland Cavaliers took home the championship against the Golden State Warriors. Montana took to Snapchat to gloat about his winnings over Drake, saying, "Shout-out to my brother Drizzy Drake for that 60 bands, 'cuz you ain't believe in LeBron." In case you missed it, James completed the game with 27 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists, obviously a major asset in the final score of 93-89. Drake has yet to respond about the bet, but whether or not it's real, it's not exactly a burden for the rapper. He recently joined hip-hop's richest rappers, according to Forbes, with a net worth of about $60 million. In fact, Drake celebrated some of that success by spending the last week vacationing with Montana in the Dominican Republic. The two rappers -- who are set to release a collaboration called "No Shopping" soon -- shared several photos from their tropical adventures. Meanwhile, LeBron James did not hide his emotions after Cleveland's big win Sunday, which marked the city's first-ever championship title. "Cleveland's long sports nightmare has ended," ABC announcers shared as cameras caught the player on the basketball court shedding tears of joy. "The drought is over. 52 years, time to celebrate a title." When being interviewed after the game, James tried to explain what exactly he was feeling at the moment. "I gave everything that I have. I put my heart and my blood and my sweat and my tears in this game and -- against all odds, against all odds, I don't know why we want to take the hardest road. I don't know why the man above gave me the hardest road but there's nothing the man above going to put new situations that you can't handle," he shared. "And I just kept the same, positive at attitude like, instead of saying why me? I was saying this is what he wanted me to do. Cleveland this is for you!" Congrats again to the Cavaliers, and sorry about your loss, Drizzy! (Eonline)

Sonja Morgan's poor-little-rich-girl routine is wearing thin among colleagues and friends, sources said. We're told that since "The Real Housewives" star -- who was once married to JPMorgan Chase heir J.A. Morgan -- paid off all her Chapter 11 bankruptcy debt, she's developed an unfortunate habit of expecting pals to pick up the check -- even though she hasn't given up her taste in finer things. "She might be broke by her standards, but she's still richer than most of us," sniped a Hamptons insider. Meanwhile, we hear Morgan's also wanted to maximize her Bravo paycheck by appearing on camera as much as possible. She filed for bankruptcy in 2010, but climbed out of the hole by selling off a St-Tropez home. She's also on the verge of success with a planned line of Tipsy Girl booze and restaurants. An awning has gone up at 45 W. Eighth St. for Morgan's first eatery. (Page Six)
Vicki Gunvalson's love tank is full once again. "I'm so excited," the "Real Housewives of Orange County" star said about new beau Steve Lodge to Page Six on Monday. "He is very established, he's very successful and he treats me like a princess. I'm in a good place." Gunvalson, 54, who pulled the plug on her five-year romance with Brooks Ayers last August, found herself embroiled in her ex-boyfriend's off-screen drama, in which he was accused of fabricating medical papers to prove he had been battling cancer. While Ayers confirmed he did forge documents, Gunvalson also shared that she has spoken to him since the split. "We've touched base every now and then," Gunvalson said. "I'm not one that walks away and never looks back. I learned a lot from that relationship and I loved him, I was with him for five years. "He's moved on, I've moved on and I want what's best for him. I don't want anything bad to happen to him," she continued. Unlike Gunvalson's relationship with Ayers, daughter Briana Culberson has already given her mother's new man her stamp of approval. "Briana says 'two-thumbs up. Mom, don't mess this up,' so now I'm like, I gotta listen to her again," Gunvalson shared. Though Lodge won't be making his reality TV debut anytime soon, Gunvalson can hardly believe the original "Real Housewives" franchise has stood the test of time with 11 seasons. "I was sitting at dinner with Scott Dunlop, the creator of the 'Real Housewives' franchise, and he's like, 'Did we ever think that it would be more than one season?' Four weeks, that's all we filmed. And here we are," Gunvalson said. "Lots has happened in my life since Season 1, but I'm happy and I'm at a really good place in my life." The eleventh season of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" airs Monday nights on Bravo. (Page Six)
"Saturday Night Live" star Cecily Strong says she once worked with an abusive man in theater -- and was told to put up with him, or leave. "One of the guys was so nasty and really abusive and really mean," the 32-year old comedic actress recalled. "He punched a hole in a wall, and got into a fist fight with an old person." Strong, who joined "SNL" in September 2012, told a panel discussion at Cannes Lions on Tuesday that she eventually left the touring company because management didn't fix it. "Women are afraid to speak out because you get fired, you leave," she said during the discussion called, "Gender Equality is No Laughing Matter." Strong was joined by fellow "SNL" cast members Aidy Bryant and Vanessa Bayer and NBCUniversal Chairman of Advertising Sales and Client Partnerships Linda Yaccarino. The conversation was hosted by women's rights crusader Shelley Zalis, CEO of The Girls Lounge. When asked to recall their failures, Bryant, 29, who has also performed with Second City, recalled doing shows in bars for two guys eating chicken tenders, working cruise ships for drunk sunburned people and performing in a bar for people more interested in watching college basketball on TV. "It's a living hell to do those things, it's so humiliating but it is empowering," she said. Strong says she pretended she was collecting trash at improv theaters because the reaction she got after performing was so bad. "Is that your trash? I'll take that?" she joked. Yaccarino added her voice to the women's movement in media, telling women not to be afraid to ask for help. "We really have a great network of folks around us to help us succeed," the advertising sales boss said. "In a boardroom or a meeting here you're like holy s–t, it really does still exist and it reminds you, you have to give back." (Page Six)
Vogue editor Anna Wintour took a shot at Donald Trump while talking about creativity in Cannes, saying, "Politics is not traditionally a creative industry, but in America it's currently being dominated by people with very active imaginations." The Conde Nast creative director spoke about fashion and media on Tuesday at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity, but couldn't resist a few witty political jabs. Wintour, a prolific fundraiser for the Democrats, also poked fun at Bernie Sanders. While describing a wildly popular GQ story about a hermit, she said, "Hermits are not publicity seekers, unless of course you count Bernie Sanders," who she also described, "as old and as snowcapped as Mont Blanc." But she said his popularity with younger voters is because, "He seemed to say what he believed. Audiences respond to people who dare to be different." Not even Hillary Clinton escaped Wintour's wit, even though the fashion icon has hosted fundraisers for the presidential hopeful. When discussing a recent hack on the Vogue systems which resulted in pictures of Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik being leaked online, Wintour dryly added she was not afraid of being personally hacked because, "I keep all my documents on a private server." Wintour, who oversees Conde's portfolio of titles including Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, Glamour and GQ, spent a lot of time discussing journalism in a digital age, but added that simply chasing clicks was "unimaginative ... old hat." She explained, "I hear the same anxieties over and over again. Everything is too fast, everything is too precarious, we have more access than ever to the people we are trying to reach thanks to social media and mobile technology, and more information than we know what to do with ... How to address this, how to engage audiences while still keeping our work relevant and original is the part of the puzzle we are all trying to solve. "We've been thinking a lot about these questions at Conde Nast ... we've been stressing about it ... how does Conde Nast expect to set itself apart in the digital age, when its strengths, a stable of high profile magazines, a big circulation base, and some of the most iconic print and photography journalists of the era must now face off against 'Ten surprising facts about Donald Trump's hair,' or '15 irresistible photos of morbidly obese cats.' "All of these questions have the same answer ... finding your way doesn't mean surviving, just as pleasing an audience doesn't mean twisting your editorial around search engine optimization and Facebook algorithms. For one thing, everybody is doing that, its unimaginative, its old hat. For us, creativity means thinking about the lives of our audience and how to connect with them. She continued, "Aim high, it is true that a lot of people are easily distracted online, as a result too many of us have given up on digital audiences for ambitious work and this is a mistake. The circle of weak effort is vicious, creative people in turn spend less time and less energy, making their work less polished ... Then we are surprised when audience are distracted? I want to make the case for grander ideas, big investments of time and heft." She cited Lawrence Wright's investigation into Scientology for the New Yorker which took more than a year of investigation, was published in print and online at 25,000 words, and was the most read story on the publication's website. Another big idea she cited was Vanity Fair's Caitlyn Jenner cover, which she described as, "what will probably be the most discussed cover of the decade." She concluded, "It would be ridiculous to ignore the speed and possibilities of the digital landscape -- you absolutely need to have fast moving news online, but if you want to build a large audience over time, you absolutely have to take a risk on the big challenging stuff. More than ever, if companies invest in it, effort and attention will pay off ... You can't cut your way to creativity." Mentioning Beyonce's "Lemonade," an album that was accompanied by a video as long as a feature film, Wintour added, "It is truly an amazing empowering piece of art, unless of course your name happens to be Becky." She also talked about the speed of the fashion world. Discussing the upcoming couture shows in Paris, "For a lot of people in our industry they are also occasions of acute stress ... millions in sales depend on the outcome and it all unfolds in front of a global corps of instantaneous media. The intense pressure is relatively new and often blinding. I've been thinking a lot about the speed and spectacle in today's fashion industry, because they seem to mirror stresses in other creative fields. "Fashion, which often seems to be on a path to be bigger, more Instagram-ready, can also achieve its best through sincerity ... personally driven collections can just as easily become blockbusters as high powered corporate extravaganzas." She praised Demna Gvasalia the new creative director of Balenciaga who took over the reins of a storied fashioned house, but produced a collection, "Demna's first show felt sincere and of the moment." Wintour also cited John Galliano's collection in Paris in the fall of 1994. "Out of the brilliance of his mind he created a show with just 18 pieces all in black which permanently altered the way women looked at clothes, it sent the 80s power suit packing once and for all, offering something more feminine and romantic." With characteristic Wintour disdain, she continued on, "Contrast that with a show that I saw last winter, studded to the hilt with flash, and iPhone ready showmanship. I almost didn't get to see the clothes at all, because some B-level, actually she was C or D-level celebrity, I honestly don't know even who it was, had dragged in a hoard of paparazzi to photograph her holding various provocative signs right in front of the Vogue group. "That show had nothing to do with creativity on the runway, nobody had given any thought as to why we were there, except to photograph the tired imagery of the brand, it was as if the lights and the people were there to distract us from the lack of creativity on the runway." She concluded, "Dare to be different. In fashion, in advertising and certainly in journalism, there is always the pressure to produce, the market always seems to want a little bit more. "We live in an age that prizes authenticity, just look at our current Vogue cover girl Amy Schumer whose success is built on a raw, unfiltered and very human person. Bringing personal experience and emotion to the table resonates with audiences ... audiences respond to people who dare to be different." (Page Six)

Kelly Clarkson Teases 'Coolest' Announcement of Her Career with Killer Otis Redding Cover. During a Facebook Live event on Monday Kelly Clarkson teased a big announcement coming on Friday, but instead of a press release she just sang a cover of Otis Redding's "These Arms of Mine" as a hint of what's coming. In a supremely chill set-up in her living room, Clarkson spoke to the camera while clutching her coffee and praying that the noise didn't wake her baby daughter up. (Too late, River Rose was already crying when the video started.) Taking advantage of the babysitting help, a nervous Clarkson ("I haven't done anything in a while"), opened with a joke about how she could be friends with Chewbacca Lady and explained that she wanted to find a way to announce things in her own fashion. "I'm excited to sing again because months ago I sounded like crap," she said. "This is the coolest announcement for me as an artist and I don't want to ruin it." Joined by pianist Jason Halbert, Clarkson said she was continuing her tradition of taking fan requests during her shows by posting the first of four covers slated for this week that fans have asked for in the past. "I picked these four songs because these four artists have something in common... that's my hint for today," she said. And then, after taking time off from singing due to an order of vocal rest, Clarkson joined Halbert at the piano and just slayed the 1964 Redding classic, giving it some serious gospel flavor. Frank Ocean Reacts to Orlando: 'Many People Hate Us and Wish We Didn't Exist'. Frank Ocean posted an impassioned essay on Tuesday (June 21) taking on homophobia and transphobia, anti-LGBT bias, North Carolina's "bathroom bill," violence and intolerance in the wake of the Pulse nightclub massacre in Orlando, saying, "many hate us and wish we didn't exist." In his lengthy Tumblr post, Ocean took on alleged crimes against the LGBT community overseas, invective in his church and a transphobic scene he observed with his dad early in life that seems to have created an irreparable rift with his father. "I read in the paper that my brothers are being thrown from rooftops blindfolded with their hands tied behind their backs for violating sharia law," Ocean wrote. "I heard the crowds stone these fallen men if they move after they hit the ground. I heard it's in the name of God. I heard my pastor speak for God too, quoting scripture from his book. Words like abomination popped off my skin like hot grease as he went on to describe a lake of fire that God wanted me in." Then, like so many others who were horrified and saddened by the killing of 49 and injuring of 53 at the Pulse by a man armed with a semi-automatic weapon and a handgun, Ocean reacted to the news and described how it reminded him of other traumatic incidents in his life. "I heard on the news that the aftermath of a hate crime left piles of bodies on a dance floor this month," he wrote. "I heard the gunman feigned dead among all the people he killed. I heard the news say he was one of us. I was six years old when I heard my dad call our transgender waitress a faggot as he dragged me out a neighborhood diner saying we wouldn't be served because she was dirty. That was the last afternoon I saw my father and the first time I heard that word, I think, although it wouldn't shock me if it wasn't. Many hate us and wish we didn't exist." Ocean, who has not released a new full-length since his Grammy-winning 2012 album Channel Orange, continued: "Many are annoyed by our wanting to be married like everyone else or use the correct restroom like everyone else. Many don't see anything wrong with passing down the same old values that send thousands of kids into suicidal depression each year. So we say pride and we express love for who and what we are. Because who else will in earnest? I daydream on the idea that maybe all this barbarism and all these transgressions against ourselves is an equal and opposite reaction to something better happening in this world, some great swelling wave of openness and wakefulness out here." Tom DeLonge Says He Quit Blink-182 to Investigate Aliens. "I can't tour nine months out of the year with enough time to do the enormity of what I'm setting out to do." Tom DeLonge decided to walk a different -- extraterrestrial -- path last year when he parted ways with his band, Blink-182. In a recent interview with Mic, the singer and guitarist said he left the band to investigate aliens, although he does like to use that word. "First of all, we don't really call it 'aliens,' he explained. "In pop culture, that's a term people throw out there, and rightfully so because the government spends a lot of time and a lot of money throwing that term out there. But it's much more complex than that." DeLonge says he always had an interest in UFOs and decide to leave his band -- which found major success in the late 1990s and early 2000s -- to investigate extraterrestrials. "When you're an individual like me, dealing with something that's a national security issue, and you're being gifted with the opportunity to communicate something you've been passionate about your whole life -- something that has the opportunity to change the world over time -- being a small part of that is enormously important for my life path," he told Mic. "But I can't do everything. I can't tour nine months out of the year with enough time to do the enormity of what I'm setting out to do." DeLonge said he needed to split with Blink 182 in order to invest the proper amount of time in his new multimedia franchise, Sekret Machines, which investigates "Unidentified Aerial Phenomena," he told Mic. DeLonge was replaced in Blink 182 by Matt Skiba. Sekret Machines' investigations will be seriously conducted, DeLonge said. "I've always had a passion for space and the future," he said. "But when you dive into this type of material, it's a lot more than just science and technology. It has to do with religion and cosmology and it has to do with politics and secrecy. So it's a pretty fantastic ride when you start studying this stuff. You'll find yourself trying to challenge your belief system. This project was a good way to bring it to the world in a more elevated way." (Hollywood Reporter)

Bollywood Star Salman Khan's "Raped Woman" Comment Causes Social Media Firestorm. The actor discussed wrestling scenes for his upcoming film 'Sultan,' drawing criticism online and from India's National Commission for Women. Bollywood star Salman Khan has caused a social media uproar with a comment that he felt like a "raped woman" after filming intense wrestling scenes for his upcoming film Sultan. The comment sparked an online backlash, and India's National Commission for Women (NCW) urged the actor for an explanation and said it may push for a meeting. The 50-year-old made the comment during an interaction Monday with reporters to promote the film. Khan explained that the wrestling scenes for the film, for which he followed a strenuous training regimen, saw him grappling a person weighing 120 kilos, or 264 pounds, over many hours. "When I used to walk out of the ring, it was actually like a raped woman walking out," Khan was quoted by the Hindustan Times and others as saying. "I couldn't walk straight." Local reports also said that Khan immediately after the comment requested that media not quote it, but the quote was carried by numerous outlets. NCW chief Lalitha Kumaramangalam blasted the comment as "irresponsible and careless" and said the actor has been sent a letter "asking him that what drove him to make such a statement as his comments smell of patriarchal high headedness that prevails in our country, and we are highly offended by it." She also added that "if we don't feel satisfied with his answer, then we will summon him before us." India has long been grappling with crimes against women. The 2012 fatal gang rape of a young Delhi woman sent shockwaves across the country leading, to protests and debates, which were also the subject of last year's BBC documentary India's Daughter that was banned in the country. While Khan has not offered any statement, his father, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, posted an apology in a series of tweets Tuesday. "Undoubtedly what Salman said is wrong, the simili [similie], example and the context... I apologize on behalf of his family, his fans & his friends. Forgiveness is to pardon the unpardonable or it is no virtue at all." With a career spanning over three decades, Khan is among Bollywood's most bankable stars. Last year alone, he had two major hits: Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. The latter, distributed by Fox Star Studios India, opened in the top 10 in its U.S. debut, a sign of Khan's popularity among diaspora audiences. The actor is also famous as the host of the Indian version of Big Brother, which airs on Viacom18 network's Colors channel. But Khan has also tackled many a controversy. Last year, he faced a five-year jail sentence for a 2002 hit-and-run case. Khan was later acquitted on appeal. Sultan is set for a July 6 release in India, the U.S. and other countries. Selena Gomez's long-awaited carpool karaoke segment aired on Monday night and it did not disappoint. The singer hopped in the car with Late Late Show host James Corden and the pair belted out tunes including, "Same Old Love," "Come & Get it," and "Hands to Myself," as they made a "quick" detour. Soon enough, the pair ended up at an amusement park as Gomez managed to continue the vocals to "Come and Get it," while Corden's lines were interrupted by his screams as the roller coaster the pair was riding picked up speed. Afterwards the two returned to the car, where Gomez expertly downed a ginger shot- which she takes every morning to prevent illness-as Corden struggled to recover from the "absolutely disgusting" beverage. The two then stopped off at McDonald's, where Gomez's "Love You Like a Love Song" lyrics are currently printed on some of the popular hamburger chain's cups. Employees screamed their shock at seeing the former Disney star in the drive thru, but Gomez kept things cool, snacking on fries and barbecue sauce for the rest of the trip Other songs sung in the trip including "Kill 'Em With Kindness," "Love You Like a Love Song," and Taylor Swift's "Shake it Off." Speaking of the 23-year-old's best friend, Gomez and Corden discussed Swift's infamous girl squad, which she considers herself an "OG member" of, while Corden joked that the crew is a bit sexist, as there has never been a male in the mix. "I think this industry could use a little female sexism," Gomez quipped. "I think we have a right to be that way! Find me a boyfriend and then we'll talk about [including a guy]." Although Gomez, who has been single for some years now, admitted that she's open to a new romance, she quickly added that she likes to have fun, playing coy and laughing along as Corden questioned if she'd like to have men in multiple cities. Different show, more drama. Brandi Glanville and Aubrey O'Day butt heads during a group dating session on the Tuesday, June 21, episode of Famously Single, as seen in Us Weekly's exclusive sneak peek. The E! unscripted series' preview clip shows the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, 43, clicking with a 25-year-old accountant named Preston, who she refers to as "mature." But O'Day suddenly drops by, and Glanville isn't pleased. "Aubrey walks up and just interrupts the whole thing," the former model says. "It was so uncomfortable." The tables quickly turned when the Danity Kane performer, 32 -- who started dating current boyfriend Pauly D during her stint on the show -- realized that Preston didn't know about her singing career. "Are you writing any music these days?" he asked O'Day, who seems surprised that the guy didn't know she had recently released a new album. "She was shocked that this guy didn't know who she was," Glanville continues. "She was so turned off by that comment that she walked away. She believes her own hype, and she doesn't know any other way of living." O'Day adds, "F--king kill me," before heading off to find another couple to chat with. A previously released clip from the episode shows Glanville opening up about her 2010 divorce from Eddie Cibrian. She reveals that she "cried all day, every day" over the split. Famously Single airs on E! Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET. (US Weekly)
Paris and Key West seem like cushy locales for "The Real World" ... but, according to two of those seasons' stars, they weren't really there! Chris "CT" Tamburello and Johnny "Bananas" Devenanzio are two of the MTV franchise's most famous alums, thanks mainly to their numerous appearances on the never ending spinoff series, "The Challenge." It's been 13 years since CT went abroad to live with 6 strangers and 10 since Bananas shacked up in Florida ... and now, the latter is revealing his one gripe about being on the show. "This guy got stuck in ... they call it Paris, but you were an hour and a half outside the city," explains Johnny at a recent event for Mountain Dew in NYC. "They called it Key West, [but] I was 30 minutes outside of Key West! I didn't get the full experience because I'm in a town, a seasonal town, everyone there is like fisherman and pirate f -- -ing hookers. Vegas, they're in the Palms casino. I was so pissed!" "My season would have been completely different if they put me in Vegas," he adds. The show, which just wrapped up its 31st season, has definitely seen its share of revamps through the years. Recently, they've thrown exes and dares into the mix in attempts to keep it relevant ... and these two alums have definitely noticed how much things have changed. "As you get older, [you think] 'Wait, people still watch that show? It's still on?' People outgrow it," a barely recognizable and bushy-bearded Tamburello tells toofab. "It gets harder [for me] to relate," adds Devananzio of watching the show now. "They're 21, 22 years old. What I'm going through in my life now at 33 is different than what these kids are going through. They've also changed the format. When we were on, it was put a bunch of 20 somethings in a house that wanna party, hang out and get f -- -ed up, with little drama on the side." So, what's different? "Now, it's lets take every single person from every wacky walk of life with every issue you can imagine, put them in a house together, shake it up and watch it explode," he explains. "It's at the point where the drama is more important," adds CT. (Too Fab)
Netflix Adds Margaret Atwood Murder Drama 'Alias Grace' From Sarah Polley, Mary Harron The six-hour miniseries is based on the story of convicted murderer Grace Marks and on Atwood's book of the same name. Netflix is adding another true-crime series, this time on the scripted side. Six months after Making a Murderer became a phenomenon, the streaming giant is partnering with Halfire Entertainment and Canadian broadcaster CBC to adapt Margaret Atwood's Canadian murder drama novel Alias Grace, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Published in 1996, Alias Grace follows Grace Marks, a poor, young Irish immigrant and domestic servant in upper Canada who, along with stable hand James McDermott, was convicted of the brutal murders of their employer, Thomas Kinnear, and his housekeeper, Nancy Montgomery, in 1843. James was hanged, while Marks was sentenced to life imprisonment. She became one of the most enigmatic and notorious women of 1840s Canada for her supposed role in the sensational double murder and was eventually exonerated after 30 years in jail. Her conviction was controversial and sparked much debate about whether she was actually involved in the murder or merely an unwitting accessory. The six-hour miniseries is inspired by the Marks' true story and will be written and produced by Sarah Polley (Looking for Alaska, Away From Her). Mary Harron (American Psycho, I Shot Andy Warhol) will direct the series Production is slated to begin in August in Ontario. Polley, Harron and Noreen Halpern (NBC's Working the Engels) will exec produce; D.J. Carson (Spotlight) is on board as a co-EP. A premiere date has not been determined. The Netflix adaptation, like Atwood's novel, will introduce a fictional young doctor named Simon Jordan who researches the case and falls in love with Marks. He soon becomes obsessed with her as he seeks to reconcile his perception of the mild-mannered woman he sees with the savage murder of which she has been convicted. Alias Grace was awarded the Giller Prize and was shortlisted for the Booker Prize. Alias Grace becomes Atwood's latest book-to-TV adaptation. It joins The Handmaid's Tale, which was picked up straight to series at Hulu with Mad Men's Elisabeth Moss set to star. It debuts in 2017. The author's Payback, The Robber Bride, The Sin Eater and Surfacing have also been developed for TV. "I first read Alias Grace when I was 17 years old and throughout the last 20 years I have read it over and over, trying to get to the bottom of it," Polley said. "Grace Marks, as captured by Margaret Atwood, is the most complex, riveting character I have ever read. I'm thrilled that Mary Harron has taken the project on. I know that her ability to create suspense, tension and delve into the dark, unknowable aspects of her characters will bring this piece alive. I can't wait for us to bring the many versions of Grace's gripping story, and the questions they raise, to television audiences." For Halfire, Alias Grace marks the company's latest stateside series. It joins NBC's Working the Engels and Syfy's Aftermath, among others in development. The series comes as Netflix has committed to spending $5 billion this year on original programming. It joins recently ordered dramas, including Marvel's The Punisher and fellow Canadian entry Travelers, starring Eric McCormack, as well as staples House of Cards, Marco Polo, Bloodline, Daredevil Sens8, Narcos and more. WME/IMG negotiated the sale to Netflix on behalf of Halfire. Atwood is repped by ICM Partners. Harron is repped by APA and Circle of Confusion. Polley is with WME, Circle of Confusion and Jackoway Tyerman. (Hollywood Reporter)

Sky U.K. Delays 'Last Week Tonight With John Oliver' Episode With Brexit Rant. The pay TV giant's Sky Atlantic network typically shows the latest episode on Mondays, but will push it back to Thursday to comply with U.K. "restrictions at times of elections and referendums." Pan-European pay TV giant Sky's Sky Atlantic network in the U.K. has delayed the air date of the latest episode of HBO's Last Week Tonight With John Oliver, which included an extended anti-Brexit segment. The company will air it Thursday evening after the polls close in Britain's referendum about whether to stay in the European Union or leave it. Sky Atlantic typically airs the political satire show on Mondays. During the Last Week episode, which aired in the U.S. on Sunday evening, Oliver called the Brexit campaign "bullshit" and said that pro-Brexit former London mayor Boris Johnson had the "look and economic insight of Bam Bam from The Flintstones." Oliver also said: "It's hard for me to overstate how poisonous things have become in the U.K.," adding "my homeland is on the edge of doing something absolutely insane." A Sky spokesman cited rules set by U.K. media regulator Ofcom. Sky "complied with the Ofcom broadcasting restrictions at times of elections and referendums that prohibit us showing this section of the program at this moment in time," he said. The rules require balanced reporting and impartiality during elections and such. Observers said that the Last Week episode would have been fine to air if it had also made the case for the opposite argument in another part of the show. Instead of Last Week, Sky Atlantic aired an episode of HBO political comedy Veep on Monday night. Clips from the Oliver show are available on YouTube. 21st Century Fox owns a 39 percent stake in Sky.
(Eonline)
THE OTHER STUFF . . .

Known for fooling us with faux fringes, wigs and semi-permanent dyed hair we were pleasantly surprised Monday night when the star debuted this cool pink-ombre hairstyle.
