Overnight roadway improvements continue on B-19 in Nogales

Roadway improvement work on Business Route 19 (B-19) in Nogales continues overnight between the International Border (milepost 0.09) and State Route 189 (Mariposa Road) (milepost 2.87) each Sunday through Thursday from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. as follows:

Sidewalk/Ramp Work

B-19 will have intermittent lane and shoulder closures from State Route 82 to the international border in both directions for sidewalk/ramp work.

  • Two lanes of traffic in each direction will be maintained.
  • Parking and pedestrian access along B-19 will be restricted during this work.

Paving Work

Lane restrictions along B-19 continue through Friday (June 17) and will resume Sunday (June 26) through early July for paving. The work will begin at the intersection of Morley Avenue and the international border heading north.

Signal Work

‎Signal work will resume along B-19 on Monday (June 27) which will require the signals at Gold Hill Road, Baffert Drive and SR 189 (Mariposa Road) to be turned off between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Law enforcement will be on site to direct motorists through the intersections.

The $3.4 million project includes reconstructing the roadway, curbs and gutters, providing ADA compliant parking and access to sidewalks, striping and traffic signal improvements from Park Street to Mesa Verde Road.

The work is expected to be completed fall 2016.

Drivers are reminded to share the road, be cautious, be patient and slow down while traveling through the work zone.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned roadway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
