Improvement projects will require closures or other restrictions along Phoenix-area freeways this weekend (June 10-13). The Arizona Department of Transportation recommends planning ahead and considering alternate routes while the following scheduled restrictions are in place:
Southbound Interstate 17 closed at times (up to 30 minutes) overnight near Anthem Way from 11 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday (June 11)and 11 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday (June 12) for overhead message-sign installation.Southbound I-17 on-ramp at Anthem Way also closed. DETOUR: Consider using southbound I-17 on-ramp at Daisy Mountain Drive. Please allow extra travel time and be prepared for slowing or stopped traffic at times.
For a complete list of highway and freeway restrictions in the Phoenix area and around the state, visit ADOT’s Travel Information site at az511.gov or call 511. ADOT plans and constructs new freeways, additional lanes and other improvements as part of the Regional Transportation Plan for the Maricopa County region. The primary funding source for regional freeway improvements is a half-cent sales tax approved by county voters in 2004.
