CAN'T GET IN THE MOOD?
1. Soy Lattes
Soy in food or beverages is packed with health benefits; studies have shown that soy can help lower cholesterol, protect the heart and possibly reduce the intensity of hot flashes. But soybeans contain plant estrogen, which can interfere with a woman's sex drive. If you must have your latte, switch to reduced-fat milk.
2. Fried Foods
Who doesn't love fried food? But all those fries, chips and chicken fingers affect your blood sugar, making you feel lethargic. If you don't have the energy to even get off the couch, it's hard to muster up the energy for a romp in bed.
3. Ice Cream and Cheese
Like fried foods, consuming too many dairy products can make you feel sluggish, as well as increase cramps and bloating when you get your period. But you don't have to give up ice cream and cheese entirely. Instead, limit dairy to three times a week.
Wine, beer and liquor may make you feel happy and flirtatious--at first. But alcohol is a depressant. If your libido needs a boost, cut back on the drinking. And when you do imbibe, be sure to alternate alcoholic beverages with glasses of water so you stay hydrated.
5. Hamburgers and Hotdogs
You loved them as a kid and still love them as an adult. But lower-grade meats tend to be packed with chemicals that can create a hormonal imbalance. Either skip the burgers and dogs entirely or choose organic, free-range, lean meats instead. Like dairy, limit your servings of meat to three times a week.
6. Cupcakes and Donuts
The key here is moderation. Enjoying a sweet treat every once in a while is just fine, but if you eat too much, too often, it can depress your sexual desires. Too much sugar in your diet will boost your glucose levels and that drags down your libido.
