Allow extra travel time and plan for lane restrictions on I-10 near Quartzsite through Thursday, Nov. 3

While two projects are paving the way for long-term smooth travel on Interstate 10 in western Arizona, drivers should plan for temporary travel lane restrictions and allow extra time near Quartzsite. The Arizona Department of Transportation urges drivers to use caution in the active work zones while the following restrictions are in place:

  • Interstate 10 is narrowed to one lane in both directions between US 60 and just west of Vicksburg Road (mileposts 30-42) daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for rubberized asphalt paving. Work is scheduled to continue throughWednesday, Nov. 2, weather permitting.

ADOT will begin a four-day pavement improvement project on I-10 near Quartzsite on Monday, Oct. 31. Travel lanes will be restricted in both directions during daytime hours, so drivers should plan for possible delays.

  • Eastbound and westbound Interstate 10 will be narrowed to one lane from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31, from west of the Bouse Wash Rest Area to Sore Finger Road (mileposts 52-58). The Bouse Wash Rest Area and Hovatter Road will be closed. Crews will work to re-open Hovatter Road as quickly as possible. The nearest alternate routes are Avenue 75E to the east and Vicksburg Road to the west.
  • Eastbound and westbound Interstate 10 passing lanes will be closed from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, from west of the Bouse Wash Rest Area to Sore Finger Road (mileposts 52-58). The travel lanes will remain open. Plan for slower traffic in the work zone and allow extra travel time.
  • Eastbound and westbound Interstate 10 will be narrowed to one lane from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, and again on Thursday, Nov. 3, from west of Sore Finger Road to Milepost 63. Plan for slower traffic in the work zone and allow extra travel time.
