Plan for closures of Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) in Mesa for lane striping




Drivers can use McDowell Road while freeway work is underway


The Arizona Department of Transportation has scheduled final lane striping on the Loop 202 in Mesa over the next two weekends. Drivers should allow extra travel time and plan to use McDowell Road as a detour while the following closures are in place:

  • Eastbound Loop 202 will be closed between Gilbert and McDowell roads from 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, to 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31.
  • Westbound Loop 202 is scheduled be closed between Power and Gilbert roads from 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, to 5 a.m.Monday, Nov. 7.
