Kino Parkway bridge over Interstate 10 to close overnight Tuesday, Nov. 1

The Arizona Department of Transportation will close the Kino Parkway bridge over Interstate 10 overnight Tuesday, Nov. 1to allow crews to set up concrete barrier in advance of replacing the bridge deck.

Kino Parkway will be closed to traffic in both directions from 11 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1 until 5 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2.

During the closure, northbound Kino Parkway traffic will be detoured at Benson Highway where drivers can access Country Club Road or Park Avenue, with access to I-10 at Park Avenue. Southbound traffic will be detoured at the Ajo Way access road, but the on-ramp to westbound I-10 will remain open during this restriction.

The overnight closure will allow ADOT to avoid longer closures of the bridge in the coming weeks. More restrictions will be required during this project, which is scheduled for completion in February 2017.

Alternating lane closures will be in effect on both directions of I-10 approaching Kino Parkway from 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2 until 5 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 3 to allow crews to remove railing from the Kino Parkway bridge.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but it’s possible that unscheduled closures or restrictions might occur because of weather or other factors. For the latest highway conditions around the state, visit the ADOT Traveler Information Center at www.az511.gov or call 511, except while driving.

For more information about this project, please call C.T. Revere, ADOT Senior Community Relations Officer, at1.520.705.3574 or email at crevere@azdot.gov.
