Zoe Saldana's Husband Becomes U.S. Citizen, Hopes to Inspire Other Immigrants. Zoe Saldana had a lot more to celebrate than just the Comic-Con premiere of Star Trek Beyond. Just hours before walking the red carpet in San Diego, the actress' Italian husband of three years, Marco Saldana (he took her last name shortly after getting married), became a U.S. citizen. "We're still riding this high," the Avatar star told me. "It's very special to us. I'm a daughter of immigrants and my family remembers very very well when they became citizens and what it means for them and knowing what they left behind and knowing all the amazing opportunities they were giving their children and there we were supporting my husband, who is a new immigrant, becoming a citizen with his sons right there by his side. It just felt so beautiful." Zoe documented the milestone with photos on her Instagram. "It just felt, especially this year, we wanted to share this because we know that there are many many people that aren't as fortunate to be able to become citizens," Zoe said. "But I want to encourage them and implore them to never give up." Zoe and Marco, an artist, were married in June 2013. Their twins Bowie and Cy will be two in November. Saldana called the current wave of anti-immigration rhetoric in the U.S. "gibberish." (Eonline)
Nicollette Sheridan Files for Divorce 6 Months After Secretly Getting Married. Nicollette Sheridan has filed for divorce from her husband after six months of marriage, E! News has learned. The former Desperate Housewives actress split from Aaron Phypers half a year after the two tied the knot under the radar. This marks the second marriage and the second divorce for the 52-year-old television star, who was previously married to Mad Men's Harry Hamlin from 1991 to 1993. Sheridan did not have children with Phypers nor Hamlin. The British born actress previously dated a few other famous stars, including former child star Leif Garrett from 1979 to 1985, and Michael Bolton. In fact, in March 2006, the crooner announced that he had proposed to the blonde beauty. Two years and two months later, however, the couple announced that they had broken off their engagement. Bolton opened up about the split to Access Hollywood several years later, saying, "I wouldn't bet on more chapters as much as I think that certain people you're always going to love. [It's] just a fact. It's just something that happens with you and somebody in your life." He added, jokingly, "That relationship was on and off for 17 years. I was 5 of course, when it started." Sheridan has been staying busy since the split with Phypers it seems, as she has two television movies in the pipeline slated to air later this year. (Eonline)
Sara Bareilles Recovering From Surgery After Getting Fibroid Removed From Her Uterus. Get well soon, Sara Bareilles! The 36-year-old "Brave" singer has revealed she has undergone a procedure to remove a uterine fibroid -- and she is maintaining her sense of humor about it. "So I have been healing from a minor surgery removing a fibroid on my uterus. (For those of you who don't like over-sharers, you came to the wrong canteen! Two doors down...great daiquiris.)," Bareilles wrote on Instagram Wednesday, alongside photo of herself in a hospital gown. Fibroids are uterine tumors that are almost always non-cancerous and are relatively common, mostly among women in their 40s and 50s. However, if left untreated, they can grow to be large enough to cause bleeding or swelling of the abdomen, put pressure on the bladder or rectum and in extreme cases, lead to infertility. "Well, surgery sucks but helpers and families are amazing, nurses are angels, and doctors are wizards," Bareilles continued. "In the silence and solitude of the simple task of my body seeking it's healed state, I have become vigilant about what I am intaking. Physically and metaphorically. Be careful about how much negativity and noise you heap on your plate. It comes in abundance, but there are other beautiful things at the buffet." Fibroid surgery is carried out under general anesthesia and most patients are released the same day. The procedure is performed either through the cervix or the abdomen. While women who have undergone either type of surgery can usually resume their regular day-to-day activities afterwards, they may experience uterine pain and spotting for several days or even weeks. "The slow pace of my recovery has simplified my world in a way, and I am reminded to absolutely acknowledge the chaos of a very strange/surreal time in our country and on our beloved planet, but ALSO remember to come back into the room I'm actually sitting in," she said. "Celebrate what is good about that too. I will continue to mend and hopefully return with more patience and compassion and knowledge of Game of Thrones." "Hope this finds you seeking some joy or handing some out to somebody else. We could all use a slice of that. Nothin' but love, y'all," she said, adding, "Please note I am eating a turkey sandwich on heavy painkillers in the lower right hand picture. Sassy and sedated! Ya welcome." (Eonline)
Zoe Saldana Reveals Hashimoto's Thyroiditis Diagnosis. Zoe Saldana has a condition called Hashimoto's thyroiditis, she reveals in the July 21, 2016, issue of Net-a-Porter's The EDIT. The actress says her mother and sisters suffer from the same autoimmune disease. "Your body doesn't have the energy it needs to filter toxins, causing it to believe that it has an infection, so it's always inflamed," the 38-year-old Star Trek Beyond star tells the publication. "You create antibodies that attack your glands, so you have to eat clean." To take better care of herself, Saldana -- who models designer duds for the fashion magazine's Prince-inspired photo shoot -- revamped her diet. Now, both she and husband Marco Perego are gluten- and dairy-free. "I had a great time in my twenties. Then your doctor says you're losing calcium in your bones. What the f--k is that?! I would hear those conversations with my mom and grandma, thinking I'd never get there," Saldana recalls. "'I'm going to live forever!'" "But all of a sudden it hits you," she adds. "I s--t you not, it's from night to day." Saldana needs her energy, too. After Star Trek Beyond hits theaters Friday, she has three more Avatar films in the pipeline, plus Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 and Ben Affleck's Live by Night. More often than not, Saldana has been vastly outnumbered by her male co-stars. But the tide is turning, she says. "As women in positions of power, we have to use it to help other women. I got used to being the only girl in the room. Look at The Losers, look at Star Trek...It's lonely!" the actress admits. "I couldn't care less about male-driven stories and war movies, not because I'm not an intellectual individual, but because I want to know what's happening to a woman." But, she says, change is not up to actresses alone. "The responsibility can't only fall on women in the public eye. The audience has the power. They are the ones buying the tickets to all these man-made movies. There are films being made by female directors, by female writers, with lead female roles, but women are not going to those movies," she explains. "We're going with our boyfriends to hold their f--king hands to go see a movie that we couldn't care less about!" The Sony hack in 2014 revealed that, by and large, actresses earn less money than their male counterparts. Jennifer Lawrence later wrote an op-ed about the gender pay gap for Lena Dunham's Lenny newsletter, and now Saldana and her peers are ready to take what's theirs. "The high road is no longer silent," she tells The EDIT. "The high road is speaking up and saying, 'You're a dick! What you are doing is unfair. I'm not asking you to idolize me, I'm asking you to pay me equally, because you always come to me whenever you need me for a press tour!'" Saldana isn't just speaking up for her own benefit, either. "I learned early on that in order for me to be OK, I need to surround myself with better people than me. I'm not being hard on myself; I'm being honest with myself. I have the tendency to get lost in whatever environment I create for myself," she says. "And I'm an artist; I'm prone to vanity. So I look to better people than me -- my husband, my sisters, my parents and my friends. And I'm like, as long as I'm surrounded by you people, every time I want to go shallow, you guys always remind me that it's not about me." (Eonline)
Country Star Craig Morgan Speaks Out on Death of His Teenage Son Jerry Greer: "His Spirit Will Live on in Our Hearts." In the wake of his son's tragic death, country singer Craig Morgan is heart-broken and grieving like any ordinary father would be. After his 19-year-old son Jerry Greer was discovered dead in the water following a tubing accident with friends on Kentucky Lake, the singer has publicly kept quiet about the devastating loss. Five days after the funeral for Greer, who was one of four children, Morgan has taken to social media to express some of his gratitude for the support his family has received throughout this trying time. "The loss of our son Jerry is the hardest thing we have ever had to endure as a family," he began on Instagram Wednesday evening. "Karen [Greer] and I are so grateful for all of the wonderful people who have shown us unwavering support during this difficult time." "There are too many to name here, but we are especially thankful for the Humphreys County Sheriff and Fire Departments, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, and all the additional agencies and volunteers who turned out to bring our son home," he continued. "We would also like to thank our friends, family members, and Jerry's friends who have all shown us an immense amount of love and support. Additionally, we cannot thank the music and outdoor communities enough for wrapping their arms around us, as well as our industry friends, fans, and all those that loved our son." Morgan concluded with some optimistic thoughts about the legacy of his child's memory. "We are blessed by the outpouring of prayers and condolences from across the world. Jerry may be gone from this earth, and we will miss him every day, but his spirit will live on in our hearts. We will find peace knowing that God has a bigger plan, and that one day, we'll be reunited with him again in Heaven. John 3:16." In regard to the Bible passage Craig cited, it reads, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." The recent high school graduate, who was slated to play football for Marshall University in the fall, was laid to rest Saturday. Since his untimely death, his family and friends have established a scholarship fund in his honor geared toward aspiring athletes, particularly ones struggling with dyslexia. (Eonline)
Mandy Moore and Wilmer Valderrama Prove Exes Really Can Be Friends. Not every breakup has a bitter end. Case in point: Mandy Moore and Wilmer Valderrama, who dated from 2000 to 2002. After hanging out at Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights last fall, the exes had a surprise run-in Wednesday on the Paramount Studios lot in L.A. Moore, 32, and Valderrama, 36, made sure to document their happy reunion on Instagram (and plug each other's TV shows, of course). Moore, who stars in the new NBC series This Is Us, premiering Sept. 20, shared a photo and wrote, "Sometimes you get to work on the same lot as your friends and you can run over, catch up and watch them continue to be a bad-ass (in real life and on TV). Love this guy. Friends for over 16 years. Congrats on @ncis.cbs, @wilmervalderrama! Can't wait to watch you this Fall!!" Moments later, Valderrama -- who joins the cast of CBS' NCIS starting Sept. 20 -- shared another shot with Moore. "A Paramount Studios moment.. When one of the most special people just so happens to be shooting her show @nbcthisisus at the same lot you're shooting @ncis_cbs.. Love you Mandela!" he wrote. Valderrama later edited his Instagram caption, writing, "Ps. Word in the street is she ROCKS the screen on her show!... Can't wait for the world to see the talent you are. Like you said, 16 years and another 16 to go... And then another 16 after that.. Plus maybe 16 more to add to those last 16.. Ummm let's throw another 16?... After all those?" It took years for Valderrama's That '70s Show co-stars Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher to get together, and based on the Instagram comments, fans hope he'll get back together with Moore. But let's not put the cart before the horse. In early June, Valderrama split with pop star Demi Lovato, his girlfriend of nearly six years. A little over a month later, the actor told E! News he was happy to be back on set. "[I'm] good, very good," he revealed. "It's been a great summer for work. I've done some incredible things." "It's going to be super exciting and fun to join that ongoing train of goodness," Valderrama said of joining NCIS' cast. "So many people love the show. I'm proud to be creating a new character." "This year has become a really interesting journey already," he added, noting that he'd filmed several movies to be released in 2016 and 2017. "So far this year has been explosive and fun." It's been a busy summer for Moore, too. In June, she officially divorced Ryan Adams, her husband of six years. Neither party is receiving spousal support. However, the singer-actress kept their Griffith Park home, their Beverly Hills condo and a 2012 Prius. Adams kept his comic book collection, some arcade games, a 2008 Porsche Carrera and a 1959 Cadillac. Moore and Adams are retaining their respective publishing rights for music created during their marriage. (Eonline)
Odell Beckham Jr. shared a discreet, late-night New York date with newly single singer Demi Lovato on Tuesday night. The Giants wide receiver was spotted dining with Lovato at hot Midtown restaurant Hunt & Fish Club. An onlooker tells us, "Odell came in around 11?p.m. alone, then Demi discreetly arrived about 10 minutes later. They sat in a corner booth, and it definitely looked like a date. They looked very friendly and stayed until around 1:30 a.m." Lovato broke up with her boyfriend of nearly six years, actor Wilmer Valderrama, in June. And Beckham, arguably the hottest single guy in the NFL, was recently linked to Khloe Kardashian. But he wasn't happy about that, because he then had to explain it to a mystery woman he was courting -- perhaps Demi? He said of his innocent flirtation with Khloe in GQ (via Complex): "Things go like that .?.?. then some other girl that I may have been talking to hear about it, and now it's more drama, more commotion .?.?. I'm sitting here trying to explain my situation to somebody, and it's really not even a situation." (Page Six)
Odell Beckham Jr.: How Khloe Kardashian Dating Rumors Interfered With My Personal Life. Remember when Khloe Kardashian was rumored to be dating Odell Beckham Jr. for a hot second? The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star debunked the hearsay pretty soon after photos emerged of them looking cozy at Drake's Memorial Day Weekend party. At first she tweeted a cryptic message, but when that didn't satisfy her fans she addressed the photos head on. "TWIMC: Sorry to burst your bubble. When a couple drinks, a little flirting and an invasion of privacy collide things may look crazy," she wrote, and followed with, "However...this ain't that and that ain't this." Although the rumors were silenced pretty much immediately, the NFL star still didn't understand how photos could spur that type of reaction. "Whoever was there taking the pictures inside of a private party, inside of a private-er, private-er area of the house -- we were in the kitchen of the house, where there was only like 15 people. It's just kind of like...'dating'?" he told GQ magazine's August 2016 issue. "I just met this person. This is maybe the second conversation we've had." Unfortunately, the short-lived rumors lasted long enough to affect his personal life. "Things go like that," he said, "and then some other girl that I may have been talking to hear about it, and now it's more drama, more commotion in my life. And I'm sitting here trying to explain my situation to somebody, and it's really not even a situation." There might not have been a "situation," but a source previously told E! News that Khloe would go out with him if he were interested. "Khloe is interested in Odell. She thinks he is very sexy and is her type," our insider shared. "She wouldn't mind going out with him." The E! star isn't looking for anything serious with anyone, though. "She is all about dating this summer," the insider added. (Eonline)
Kendall Jenner has a new man in the mix! The model, 20, has been spending time with a noteworthy companion: rapper A$AP Rocky. "It's a fling," a source close to the Estee Lauder spokeswoman confirms exclusively in the latest issue of Us Weekly, adding, "It's not serious." The duo first sparked dating rumors last month when they spent time together in the City of Love. Jenner, who traveled to France for Menswear Fashion Week, was spotted strolling through the streets of Paris with 27-year-old A$AP, whose real name is Rakim Mayers. The two then headed to a dinner date at L'Avenue restaurant. Later that evening, they danced the night away at Paris' Cartel Club. On July 13, Jenner and the "Electric Body" rapper rendezvoused again at the Mr. C Beverly Hills hotel. The stars have been friends for a while: A$AP attended the launch of Jenner's PacSun line (with her younger sister, Kylie) in NYC in February. But a source close to the Harlem, New York, native echoes the sentiment that the romance is casual. "He thinks Kendall is hot as hell," the insider tells Us. "He's just having fun." It's good they're on the same page, because Jenner is still spending time with another rumored suitor, Los Angeles Lakers player Jordan Clarkson. Jenner and the basketball star, 24, spent the 4th of July partying together at Bootsy Bellows' "Red, White & Bootsy" pop-up bash at Nobu in Malibu. Then, on July 17, Jenner sat in on Clarkson's Drew league basketball game. (US Weekly)
Uzo Aduba & Todrick Hall Support 'Strong' & 'Genuine' Taylor Swift Amid Kimye Feud! At least Taylor Swift still has her squad!! After Kim Kardashian West leaked the Famous convo between her and Kanye West, her friends have been speaking up in her defense, including Selena Gomez, who ended up getting dragged on Twitter. Well, OINTB's Uzo Aduba and Todrick Hall are also sharing their piece!! In a new interview with Vanity Fair, the actress simply revealed if Tay would end up getting past this feud: "She will. She's a beautiful person and strong." You might remember Uzo was just with the Blank Space songstress at the star's famous Fourth of July bash in Rhode Island. She's clearly in her corner!! And Todrick explained at length to People, he's not here for the shadiness. The Straight Outta Oz star confessed: "In the words of Sweet Brown, 'Ain't nobody got time for that.' I've had my Regina George moments in my life, [but] I think there's a reason why you would call someone and record them. I'm not sure of everything that happened or did not happen, but all I know is I feel that I would feel taken advantage of if someone recorded me without me knowing it." He even echoed Taylor's sentiments, saying: "My heart goes out to her because she never asked to be a part of this whole Kimye experience. She just wanted to accept an award. And it's just, literally, like Bring It On-you know how they keep making Bring It On movies again and again and again? It's like it doesn't seem it will end." The famous performer also went to defend the 26-year-old's character, adding: "She's one of the most genuine people I've ever met in my entire life." In fact, he believes there are more things to worry about than this petty feud. Todrick shared: "In this time when people are getting shot and killed left and right? Something horrible could happen in this country, and I just feel like we should be writing music that's helping change the world and not trying to do things to get extra press and calling them and giving them half of a story of what you're gonna do on your album. It's not cool." But he has no hard feelings for Kimye, it's just the way things were handled that seemed "shady" to him: "I like them. But I feel like people should always have the opportunity to defend themselves. To be called on a whim and be asked to be a part of something that you half-know what it is and it's controversial? That's not the way things should have been approached. It should have never been presented on a phone call in a shady, dark room." (Perez Hilton)
J.J. Abrams Holds Moment of Silence for Anton Yelchin at Star Trek Beyond Comic-Con Premiere. The stars of Star Trek Beyond shined bright at the film's premiere on the opening night of San Diego Comic-Con Wednesday. Sofia Boutella, John Cho, Idris Elba, Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana and Karl Urban hit the red carpet, many of them wearing black Star Trek command lapel pins to honor Anton Yelchin, their co-star who passed away at age 27. Yelchin played Chekov in 2009's Star Trek and 2013's Star Trek Into Darkness, and he died in June after a freak car accident at his home in Studio City, Calif. Star Trek Beyond is his final film. Before the screening began, producer J.J. Abrams paid his respects. "As wonderful as this is to be here with all of you and to be celebrating the 50th anniversary of Star Trek, there is something wrong tonight. There is something missing tonight. There is someone missing tonight. Anton Yelchin should be here," he said. "Anton's parents are here, Irina and Victor. We love their son, and if I could ask everyone to have a moment of silence for our dear friend, Anton." After the moment of silence, the San Diego Symphony played a medley of Star Trek theme music. A light show appeared above the audience's head as fireworks crackled over the marina. Quinto, who plays Spock, also paid tribute the actor who originated his role, Leonard Nimoy. "I just want to take a moment to honor him, to acknowledge him, to celebrate him and to love him," Quinto said of Nimoy, who died in 2015. "We all carry him with us in our heart tonight." Star Trek Beyond is in theaters Friday. (Eonline)
Jeremy Piven is damn lucky the biker who slammed into his car door ... happens to be more starstruck than pissed off about the accident. Erick Netterblad tells TMZ it was surreal seeing Piven's face moments after his chest was gashed open. He says he immediately recognized him from "Entourage" as he crashed to the ground. Netterblad has no plans to sue though, since he says Piven was totally helpful. He says the actor called police and an ambulance, rescued his bike from the road and got him water. When Netterblad wanted to lay down, Piven advised him not to, and instead made him sit in the shade -- and he didn't leave until the ambulance left. Netterblad got several stitches, but was out of the hospital about 5 hours later. (TMZ)
Hayden Panettiere claims the woman to whom she paid a queen's ransom for dog sitting services not only grossly overbilled her ... she gave her dogs away. The dog fight began when Tia Brooks filed a lawsuit against Hayden for more than $8,500 for unpaid services. Hayden fired back with a letter from legal pit bull Marty Singer, who accused Tia of giving the 2 dogs away and then having the nerve to continue charging for her services. Turns out Hayden rescued the 2 rescue pooches ... Zander, a Rottie/Lab mix, and Xena, a Lab/Pit Bull mix. The arrangement was Hayden would pay Tia $30 a day until Hayden could find a permanent home for the dogs. Singer claims Tia put an ad on Craigslist last month, found a home but continued billing. Tia disputes it and says her bills were all legit. Get this ... according to Singer's letter, Tia's been caring for the dogs for 6 years, charging a grand total of $119,335.88!!! As for how the bill got so high, Singer claims, in addition to the daily fee, Tia tacked on all sorts of extras, including dog bones, bug spray, tick control, dog beds and other stuff. Tia tells us a big chunk of the money was for vet bills after one of the dogs got really sick. It's expensive to be a dog in L.A. (TMZ)
Justin Bieber is calling BS on his ex-neighbor's claim he and his wife are STILL suffering all kinds of medical issues related to the infamous egging incident, from more than 2 YEARS ago. Bieber says in new court docs he wants Jeffrey and Suzanne Schwartz to submit to mental evaluations next month to determine if their claims of ongoing emotional distress are legit. Jeff and Sue say they have a bunch of issues -- headaches, stomachaches and insomnia ... all due to Bieber's unrelenting bad behavior while he lived next to them in Calabasas ... including the barrage of eggs. The Schwartz's say their real-life "Neighbors" disaster puts Seth Rogen's flick to shame ... but Justin's legal team isn't buying it. The judge hasn't ruled on the doctor request. (TMZ)
THE OTHER STUFF . . .
Prince Harry Honors Princess Diana's Legacy in Fighting AIDS Epidemic. Prince Harry is forging ahead in the fight against AIDS -- a battle his late mother Princess Diana worked as a public figure to combat over 20 years ago. The 31-year-old younger son of the former princess of Whales has launched a public campaign dedicated to HIV and AIDS prevention and erasing the stigma surrounding the syndrome. Most recently, he spoke at the 2016 International AIDS Conference on Thursday in Durban, South Africa -- a country where HIV and AIDS are still vastly prominent. Before speaking out against "complacency," Harry harkened back to his mother, who was a famously avid supporter of patients fighting the illness despite premature public fears. Most memorably, she hugged and held hands with patients without gloves although, at the time, it was unknown if HIV and AIDS could spread through simple physical contact. "When my mother held the hand of a man dying of AIDS in an east London hospital, no one would have imagined that, just over a quarter of a century later, treatment would exist that could see HIV-positive people live full, healthy, loving lives," he said. "But we now face a new risk -- the risk of complacency." Though advancements in treatment cannot be denied, Harry noted the drive for publicity and funding is not as fierce as it once was years ago. "We cannot lose a sense of urgency, because, despite all the progress we have made, HIV remains among the most pressing and urgent of global challenges -- 1.1 million people died of AIDS and 2.1 million were infected last year alone," he noted. If his remarks were not enough of a tribute to his mother's charitable memory, Harry was also joined onstage by Diana's beloved friend and a staunch advocate in the fight against HIV and AIDS, Sir Elton John. "Young people are being left out and left behind in the AIDS response and it needs to stop," the musician declared. "It needs to stop here and now." Among those infected today are natives of Harry's very own country. "In my own country, infection rates are still rising amongst important groups despite the availability of instant testing and universal access to treatment, so it is time for a new generation of leaders to step forward." Harry has undeniably been one of those modern leaders to join the global fight. In 2006, he established Sentebale, a charity organization aimed at helping children -- many infected with HIV and AIDS -- in Lesotho, South Africa. At the end of June, he organized a charity concert headlined by Coldplay to raise money for the foundation. He subsequently live-streamed himself getting tested for HIV in an effort to de-stigmatize the process. "It is amazing how quick it is," he pointed out on camera after it was over. "So whether you're a man, woman, gay, straight, black or white -- even ginger -- why wouldn't you come an have a test?" "It is time for us to step up to make sure no young person feels any shame in asking for an HIV test," he told the crowd in South Africa Thursday. "It is time for us to step up to make sure that girls and boys with HIV aren't kept from playing with their friends, classmates, and neighbors. It is time for us to step up and acknowledge that stigma and discrimination still act as the greatest barrier to us defeating this disease once and for all." (Eonline)
Sarah Silverman's newest accessory appears to be related to her terrifying recent health ordeal. Following her week-long stay in the ICU earlier this month for a life-threatening condition called epiglottitis, the comedian has been spotted on the streets of New York and at JFK Airport covering her face with a surgical mask or a bandana. Dr. Dana Jane Saltzman, an internist at Midtown Health & Wellness, told us that Silverman is likely wearing the mask to protect herself from other people breathing on her. "She had to be extra careful because airports are like incubators for germs," Saltzman said. "The mask is only going to be for when she's traveling and in crowds," Saltzman added. According to the Mayo Clinic, epiglottitis occurs when a piece of small cartilage that covers the windpipe swells and blocks air from getting into the lungs. It can cause respiratory failure. Silverman's reps didn't get back to us about why she's been sporting face coverings, but the comedian previously shared on Facebook that she's "lucky to be alive" following her health scare. On July 10, she gave fans another wellness update, posting a photo of her badly bruised arm to Facebook and drolly writing, "This is me, all better, milking my last vestige of sympathy." Dr. Saltzman said a few weeks to a month of rest would likely be recommended for the 45-year-old. "I would imagine they'd say two to three weeks of taking it easy so she's not wearing down her immune system ... You'd want as long as possible to get your strength back especially after being put on steroids and antibiotics," she said. New York-based Dr. Purvi Parikh, an allergist and immunologist with Allergy & Asthma Network, also said that in an otherwise healthy person, recovery would probably only take a few weeks. Dr. Jordan S. Josephson, an Upper East Side-based Ear, Nose & Throat doctor, said he doesn't see face masks as a common form of protection after being diagnosed with the condition. "There [are] very few reasons to wear a face mask. Before I would tell someone to wear a face mask, I'd tell them to either stay at the hospital or stay at home." The doctor also added that she wouldn't be contagious any more. (Page Six)
Ashley Graham Responds to Internet Trolls Who Shamed Her for Losing Weight. Ashley Graham can't win with her fans. The plus-size model posted a selfie on Instagram this week, and many of her followers took exception with it because they thought she lost some weight. Wearing a white crop top and matching skirt with a black leather jacket, Graham looked beautiful, but some critics had a different idea because they felt she was staying true to her platform. "I knew it you did lose a lot of weight! I am no longer a fan of yours you betrayed a lot of people! So I'll find another plus size beautiful woman bcuz yo're full of s--t!!! #damnshame #justliketherest," commented one user. "How can she say I represent the plus size woman when she lost half her weight? Now she selling her fashion line to plus size woman nd she lost all that weight? Sorry but I can say whatever the f--k I want! She is a phone she use to represent the curvy look now she's getting just like the ones she fought so hard against in the first place." Other users supported the critic, claiming Graham is starting to look like "every basic woman." Some called Graham's unconfirmed weight loss "discouraging" because they felt as soon she found fame she "gets skinny." "Why are you changing yourself? I thought you were comfortable being yourself and being plus size," another asked. "You are clearly losing tons of weight." But after a while, enough was enough for Graham. The brunette bombshell responded to her critics with a comment of her own, "People come on my page and body shame me because I'm too big, because I'm too small, because I'm not good enough for their standards...But at the end of the day I'm good enough for me. Angles will make anyone look bigger or smaller and I just happen to know mine." She also took to Snapchat to issue a response to the Instagram controversy. Sharing a picture of herself walking the runway in lingerie, Graham added a text overlay that read, "I will not let others dictate what they think my body should look like for their own comfort, and neither should you." Jon Gosselin Has Quit His Job At T.G.I. Friday's! That didn't last long... As we reported, Jon Gosselin confused the media when he revealed he took a job as a prep cook at a T.G.I. Friday's in Lancaster, PA. He later clarified that he took the gig because his friend needed help, and he donated his entire paycheck to local charities. Sadly, all good things must come to an end. On Wednesday, the former reality TV star talked to 103.7 Dallas' Kannon And Sybil and said he's no longer working in the kitchen. The Jon & Kate Plus 8 personality said: "I'm not going to work there anymore because now the trust and the teamwork is gone... Because now someone took a picture of me and sold it... and now I have to leave a job I'm passionate about." Bummer! Although his days as a chef are dunzo, he's still pursuing a career as a DJ! Spin those records, dude! (Perez Hilton)
Gwyneth Paltrow and her ex, Chris Martin, were spotted having quality time in the Hamptons just two days before their divorce was finalized. The consciously uncoupled pair, who separated in 2014 and finalized their divorce on July 14, were seen taking their kids for a friendly family dinner at roadside restaurant Clam Bar in Amagansett the Tuesday before. We're told picky eater Paltrow had lobster salad, while daughter Apple took a bite out of Mom's playbook by eating a kale salad. Son Moses had chicken nuggets. (Page Six)
Delonte West is actively working on an NBA comeback -- so says his mother, who tells TMZ Sports her son is getting his life back together after a string of troubling setbacks. The NBA community became concerned for West after pictures surfaced showing the 32-year-old looking disheveled in Texas ... and apparently begging for change in Maryland. Delphina Addison says her son has had some mental health issues recently -- but he's back on his medication and in a good place. "He is working toward coming back to the NBA. He has been working out and that's where he's at as of now." As for the photos of West apparently panhandling, Addison says the pics didn't tell the whole story. "People did see him holding a sign but what they don't know was there was a homeless guy standing out across from my place and Delonte saw him and wanted to help him out." "Delonte is not homeless. He's living with his wife and kids," Addison told us. As we previously reported, West spent time in a medical facility earlier this year ... but feels like he's made significant improvements and is now mentally prepared to get back to work. "Delonte told me, 'Mom, if it took some things that I had to do to show me some wisdom, I thank God for that.'" "He is a heck of a player ... and he said, 'It's showtime!' He's ready to come back." Nick Jonas is no stranger to posh places ... so he's been right at home this week in The Hamptons. Jonas's renting out a 6,200 square foot mini-palace, decked out with 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, and a salt water pool. It even comes with a private chef. It appropriately costs a king's ransom ... $4k a night. Nick, who's on tour with Demi Lovato, rented the place off Airbnb for the dark week. (TMZ)

Liam Payne Signs a Solo Record Deal (as More Sobs From One Direction Fans Are Heard 'Round the World). Grab your box of tissues Directioners...it looks like your favorite band from across the pond may have just gotten a bit smaller. One Directions's Liam Payne just announced that he's signed his own solo deal with Capitol Records in the United Kingdom. He took to Twitter to share the news on Thursday. "Happy to have signed to @CapitolUK," he wrote. "They have an amazing history of artists, I hope I can follow in their footsteps." Of course, the news resulted in a mix of reactions on social media. While many fans congratulated the singer, others simply couldn't look past their hopes that One Direction will be back someday. For example, one fan questioned, "What about one direction ... I believed you guys when you said you were coming back but lately idk what to think." Another fan wrote, "WHAT THE HELL WHAT WHAT ABOUT THE BAND LIAM." Liam did his best to calm their emotions by tweeting again. He wrote, "One direction will always be my home and family but I'm very excited to see what this chapter brings." It is important to note that he never said he's leaving 1D, which could mean he'll do both at some point in the future -- if the band ever gets back together. (We've seen this happen with singers like Gwen Stefani and No Doubt, Beyonce and Destiny's Child, etc.) Still, the announcement doesn't make a 1D reconciliation look very likely, especially considering Harry Styles recent news. Just last month, E! News confirmed the singer signed a solo recording contract with Columbia Records, the same label behind the band. Terms of the deal and any news of a new album are still uknown. As you're likely aware, Styles was the second 1D singer to go solo, following Zayn Malik, who quit the band in 2015. (Eonline)
Fan Army Face-Off: Katy Perry's #KatyCats Are Ferocious Against Fifth Harmony's Harmonizers. Katy Perry's #KatyCats are bringing out the claws against Fifth Harmony's Harmonizers in this week's round of Billboard's Fan Army Face-Off. After beating out Lady Gaga's Little Monsters in a tight race, Harmonizers are going to have to prove they're harmonious in facing Perry's worldwide fandom. With girl power at the forefront, Fifth Harmony has wasted no time pulling fans together in perfect harmony since the group's start in 2012 on The X Factor. One year later, the girl group released their first EP, Better Together, which reached No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. Spanish-speaking Harmonizers were in for a special treat when 5H released an all-Spanish version of Better Together, called Juntos. Their debut album Reflection peaked at No. 5, while their second studio album 7/27 gave them an extra edge peaking at No. 4. Due to their growing fanbase, 5H has graced the covers of publications like Latina, Seventeen and Billboard. With more than 90 million followers, Katy Perry is the most-followed person on Twitter thanks to her loyal fanbase. The pop star began her career in her teen years as a Christian singer. In 2008, Perry took a complete 180, releasing "I Kissed a Girl," which hit No. 1 on the Hot 100. Perry's third album Teenage Dream brought summer anthem "California Gurls," as well as "Teenage Dream," "Firework" and "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)," which all hit No. 1. Perry's last album Prism debuted in 2013, leaving fans waiting for more until her recent release of "Rise" for the 2016 Summer Olympics. If Harmonizers see Fifth Harmony as "Worth It" in this battle between pop armies, they need to stop #KatyCats and their "Teenage Dream." There are six days left in this round of Billboard's Fan Army Face-Off -- vote for your fave now! (Billboard)
Billy Joel's celebration of Tony Bennett's 90th birthday had some serious New York flavor ... and about 18,000 people singing "Happy Birthday." Tony hopped onstage to duet with Billy on his classic, "New York State of Mind" -- which would've been an awesome enough toast -- considering both guys are born and bred New Yorkers. But then the entire crowd serenaded Tony and Billy even brought a cake for his pal -- he was off by a few candles though. Some Billy fans thought he had another surprise guest ... AC/DC ... when he busted out "Highway to Hell" -- but it was just Billy's roadie, Chainsaw, doing a cover. Too bad, so sad. Chainsaw rocks though. (TMZ)
Brandy's record label just clapped back, saying the singer has no business comparing her contract to slavery ... since it's been more than a decade since she dropped a hit. A rep for Chameleon Entertainment CEO Breyon Prescott tells TMZ ... Brandy's allegations are a desperate ploy to drum up publicity instead of facing facts -- her best days are behind her. The rep says Breyon took a risk "signing an artist that hasn't had a chart single success since the early 2000's." We broke the story ... Brandy sued Chameleon, saying it jeopardized her career when it tried to prevent her from recording and releasing new music, among other things. Chameleon's rep also believes Brandy made a bonehead PR move by making the slavery comparison due to racial tensions across the country right now. We're told Brandy and her lawyer reviewed the contract before signing, so Chameleon finds it odd she's now crying foul. (TMZ)

The pop-rock band revealed in a handwritten letter posted on Facebook that the cancellations are due to time conflicts in finishing their upcoming album. "We'd hoped to be done with recording but as it turns out, we're at a critical point of finishing up and need to stay close to home until it's complete," read the note. "We hate to disappoint you guys that had plans to come see us and promise we'll be back in the near future to share our new music with you." Harry Styles has a "full-time bodyguard" to protect him from fans on the set of his new movie, Dunkirk. The One Direction singer is currently filming his part in the war movie but has been given extra security to ensure his perfectly dimpled cheeks are safe and sound. A source said: "Harry has to have a full-time bodyguard to follow him around because fans have been breaking onto set to see him. He's the only person who has a security guard at his side round the clock, but his minder follows him home too. "The fans managed to find out where he's staying and have been camped outside his hotel even when he's not even there. Harry is the only cast member with personal security. Nobody else has extra staff apart from Kenneth Branagh. He has a driver, but that's it." Well he is HARRY FROM ONE DIRECTION. He's a pretty big deal. We really hope he's chosen a hot celebrity bodyguard because we can add him to our list of favorites. There is a picture of his burly bodyguard but you can't really see his face. (British Glamour)
Oscar-Winning Donald Duck Short About Nazi Germany Taken Off Russia's List of Extremist Material. The 1942 cartoon 'Der Fuehrer's Face' was put on the list following a court case for "inciting hatred and enmity". A Russian court has ruled that the 1942 Oscar-winning Walt Disney eight-minute cartoon Der Fuehrer's Face, featuring Donald Duck and portraying Nazi Germany under Adolph Hitler, be removed from the national list of extremist materials. The court in the Far East region of Kamchatka revised a local court's ruling from six years ago, under which the animated short was deemed "extremist," with a local resident who uploaded it to the internet receiving a six-month suspended sentence back then for "inciting hatred and enmity," news agency Kamchatka-Inform reported. The cartoon will be taken off the list, the court ruling, quoted by Kamchatka-Inform, said. The ruling called the short "Walt Disney Studios' classic animated film made as part of an anti-Hitler propaganda campaign." As the cartoon portrays Nazism in caricature form, it cannot be viewed as "extremist," the court highlighted. Directed by Jack Kinney, Der Fuehrer's Face won an Oscar in the best short cartoon category in 1943. It focuses on Donald Duck having a nightmare about living and working in Nazi Germany. The list of extremist materials has existed in Russia since 2002. It currently includes over 3,700 items. (Hollywood Reporter)
'Hands of Stone' Trailer: Robert De Niro Coaches Edgar Ramirez for a Boxing Comeback. "You put God in the ring, and I will beat him." Robert De Niro is the best trainer in the boxing biz in the trailer for Hands of Stone. "I've trained more world champs than anyone else in boxing history, I haven't stepped into a ring in more than a decade," he explains. "In 66 seconds, Roberto Durant changed my life." Directed by Venezuelan helmer Jonathan Jakubowicz, the sports drama centers on Edgar Ramirez as real-life boxer Duran, a Panamanian fighter who made his professional debut in 1968 as a teen and retired in 2002 at the age of 50. In June 1980, Duran defeated Sugar Ray Leonard (played by Usher Raymond) to capture the WBC welterweight title, but shocked the boxing world by returning to his corner in their November rematch, famously saying the words "no mas" ("no more"). Ana de Armas, Ellen Barkin and John Turturro also star in the film. The Weinstein Co. will release Hands of Stone in theaters Aug. 26. (Hollywood Reporter)
Why is the Film That Predicted the Turkish Coup IMDB's Worst-Rated Ever? The 2015 conspiracy thriller 'Code Name: K.O.Z.' might itself be the victim of an online plot to sabotage its IMDB rating. Right now the worst rated movie in IMDb history-worse than both Paris Hilton's The Hottie & the Nottie (2008), which sits at No. 14 and Pledge This (2006), which comes in at No. 6-is last year's Code Name: K.O.Z. While the Turkish drama may never have been an Oscar shoo-in for Best Foreign Language film, it appears its ranking may have cratered to its historic low due to the same high-level political dynamics that played out in the days following the country's unsuccessful coup d'etat on the night of July 15. Code Name: K.O.Z. (called Kod Adi: K.O.Z. in Turkish) is a thriller that lightly fictionalizes recent Turkish political history through a decidedly pro-current-regime lens. It depicts the unraveling of the relationship between the government of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and forces aligned with a villainized Fethullah Gulen, an influential real-life Islamic cleric now living in self-imposed exile in rural Pennsylvania who still maintains a large following in the country. Gulen, known for his comparatively moderate views, enjoyed a close relationship with the increasingly autocratic Erdogan until a Byzantine corruption scandal in 2013 tore them apart. Erdogan accused Gulen, currently on Turkey's most-wanted-terrorist list, and his followers of orchestrating the recent coup. Gulen denied it. The Turkish government has asked Washington to extradite Gulen to Turkey to face trial and there has been a crackdown on his supporters inside the country. "While the events of [July 15] unfolded, I was very sad, but I wasn't surprised at all; this was a culmination of what was going on three years ago, when I started to shoot this movie," Ugur Yalcinkaya, producer of Code Name: K.O.Z. told The Hollywood Reporter, via Skype, from his offices in Istanbul. "The movie was a warning to our society of what was to come." If Code Name: K.O.Z. was a warning, it wasn't one many Turks heeded. The 114-minute film grossed just $3.5 million in a nine-week theatrical run in the country beginning on Valentine's Day weekend 2015, according to Box Office Turkiye. "It wasn't really very widely seen," says Alev Scott, a writer and journalist based in Istanbul who actually went to watch-for sheer curiosity's sake-Code Name: K.O.Z., sitting in a theater empty save for a couple of "hardcore Erdogan fans and conspiracy theorists" who she said were "loving it." Such was its disappointing crowd pull that Scott says many cinemas ended up showing it for free after just a couple of days: "It wasn't like an average film that people wanted to fill their Sunday afternoons with. It was an obvious piece of propaganda masquerading as a commercial film." Scott draws a connection between the film and Kazim Albayrak, one of the movie's producers and a partner in the family-owned Turkish conglomerate Albayrak Holding. His family also owns Yeni Safak, a pro-government daily newspaper with a record of anti Gulen coverage. Producer Yalcinkaya, however, denies any government involvement in Code Name: K.O.Z. and says while Albayrak is "a close friend," that he did not help finance the film. "I didn't take any government money for this movie, none. If anyone can prove I took a single Lira I will pull the film out of distribution," Yalcinkaya told THR. "I didn't make this film for profit, but because I'm a patriot." Yalcinkaya says he received "hundreds of death threats" from Gulen supporters after the movie's release. But he feels history has vindicated him. "There is nothing in the film that isn't true," he says. "The [sad] events of last week show I was right." When it comes to IMDB's online critics, Scott says the film's extremely low score could be a result of a coordinated campaign by Gulenists. "I think it was more likely people with a specific agenda, so supporters of Gulen, because it's basically an attack on him," she says. "It's plausible that people sympathetic to Gulen went out of their way to vote it down." Gulen did not return a request from THR for comment about Code Name: K.O.Z.-as well as whether his supporters were either asked, or took it upon themselves, to vote it down as a form of protest. The attempt to reach him was made through the Alliance for Shared Values, a New York-based umbrella nonprofit established to advance his various interests. Code Name: K.O.Z. may not have dented the Turkish box office, but Scott worries it'll be dragged into the limelight following the recent upheavals. "I'm just waiting for the pro-government columnists to start saying 'see, we predicted everything, there was going to be a coup.' I'm sure that's going to happen." But whether this changes the film's lowly IMDB ranking is another thing. Concludes Scott: "It is, objectively, the worst film I've ever seen." (Hollywood Reporter)
South Korea Box Office: 'Now You See Me 2' Breaks Opening Records. Lionsgate sequel broke the studio's local record for largest opening weekend while previews for the local zombie flick drew unprecedented attendance rates. Now You See Me 2 debuted at No. 1 at the South Korean box office from July 15-17, breaking Lionsgate's record for largest opening weekend with $12.5 million. Limited previews for Train to Busan, the local zombie actioner that debuted at Cannes in May, however, trailed behind the Hollywood film ahead of its official theatrical release this coming Wednesday. Now You See Me 2 accounted for 36.1 percent of the market share during this time frame as it debuted across 1,200 screens. The sequel to the 2013 heist thriller ranked not only on top for the weekend, but also enjoyed the second best opening weekend for a Hollywood title in 2016 behind Captain America: Civil War ($28.9 million from April 29-May 1). Next in second was Train to Busan, a zombie actioner handled by Next Entertainment World (NEW) that recorded unprecedented success for paid preview screenings with a total $4.3 million (Korean Film Council's KOBIS database). The Yeon Sang-ho film brought in 19.3 percent of the share even though it was shown on 431 screens, which is about a third of that for Now You See Me 2. Given local regulations that limit the number of paid previews, the film was shown just 2,663 times or one-fifth the number of screenings for the Lionsgate thriller (13,670). Its box-office success can be attributed to the unusually high seat occupancy rate of an average of 90.9 percent during the weekend, which peaked on Sunday up to 95.3 percent. The sell-out rate for Now You See Me 2, for example, was 42.3 percent during the weekend. "Paid previews are limited to two-to-three screenings per day per theater, and almost all of the screenings were sold out. This reflects the high anticipation for Train to Busan and we expect it to perform well after its official release," said a spokesperson for NEW. Meanwhile, the big debuts of the two films pushed Finding Dory down to third place, from last week's No. 1. The sequel to Finding Nemo took home 16.9 percent of the revenue as it was offered on 969 screens nationwide. With its cume gross coming down to $12.7, the animated film is already the second highest grossing Pixar release of all-time, behind Inside Out. In fourth place was the local period film Seondal: The Man Who Sells the River. The CJ Entertainment title also stepped down two spots from the previous week and accounted for 13.6 percent of the box-office share as it played across 811 screens. The gross cume for the crime comedy based on a Korean folktale about a conman who tries to sell river water is now about $12.6 million since its release on July 6. In fifth place was The Shallows. The maritime survival thriller brought in 5.3 percent of weekend sales as it debuted on 518 screens. The Universal Pictures title has so far earned $1.6 million in Korean theaters. Final Divergent Movie May Ditch Theaters for TV Movie and New Series. Well this is new! The final film in the Divergent series may not be coming to theaters after all, and will instead be heading to TV. According to Variety, Ascendant may actually be turned into a TV movie, which will then be followed by a standalone TV series set in the same world as the movies. The film, which would star Shailene Woodley, Theo James, and Ansel Elgort, was originally going to start shooting this summer and was slated to premiere in June 2017, but sources told Variety that Lionsgate is reconsidering after the third movie, Allegiant, didn't perform as well at the box office as the first two films. The series is based on the Divergent series of books, written by Veronica Roth, which tell the story of a post-apocalyptic society divided up by personality traits. Divergent was released in 2014, with Insurgent following in 2015 and Allegiant debuting earlier this year, with Ascendant originally set to follow in 2017. The third and final book, Allegiant, was split between the final two movies. Lionsgate declined to comment on the report at all, but Variety says that the plan is to finish up the storyline with the current cast and characters, and to introduce the new cast that would continue with the new TV series, though there is no word on whether any cast members would be on board for the move to TV, and no network attached. Let's just hope we haven't seen the last of Tris and Four! What do you think about the idea of Ascendant as a TV movie? (Eonline)
Louis Tomlinson has helped a homeless teenager on her way to global fame after hitting the Golden Buzzer after her audition on America's Got Talent. Jayna Brown, 14, got the judges on their feet after she sang a powerful rendition of Rise Up by Andra Day. She was smiling, and visibly shaking, when the One Direction star told her: "It's not just one thing with you. It's not just the voice, it's not just the performance. It's everything. It's so infectious to watch your performance." Louis gave a cheeky smile and waited for a moment before hitting the Golden Buzzer, which means that Jayna automatically goes through to the live shows, then joined her on stage for a hug. The Baltimore teen had previously told the cameras that she and her mother were struggling financially, and did not have their own home. Jayna's thrilled mum was in the audience, and Louis later told the judges that the situation reminded him of his own mother being excited for him after his auditions on The X Factor. "I was taken back by the emotion especially seeing her mum, I could relate back to my mum getting all cheery, it was nice," he said. Louis also spoke to Mel B about his experiences of becoming a dad in January. "I've just had a baby boy, a son, so that's been taking up all my time. I mean I didn't think I'd be having a son at this age but it's been incredible," he said. "To be a young parent is super super exciting." (British Glamour)
Michelle Obama's Carpool Karaoke With James Corden Is So Good Missy Elliott Had to Make a Surprise Cameo. The FLOTUS just got her Carpool Karaoke on! Michelle Obama joined forces with James Corden on the must-see The Late Late Show skit and the two sure didn't disappoint. The First Lady of the United States of America danced along to none other than Beyonce's "Single Ladies" as she chatted with the Brit star. But easily the most memorable moment of the night was when Missy Elliott herself dropped by to sing along to "This Is for My Girls" with Obama and Corden. Shortly after the show aired, the Secret Service tweeted the following message: "Thank you @JKCorden and the @thelatelateshow for bringing @FLOTUS home safe and sound after #CarpoolKaraoke. We were watching." The late-night host took Barack Obama's better half on a ride around Washington D.C. as the two caught up and discussed what it's really like living in the White House. "I rarely get to listen to music in the car," the First Lady admitted. "I've been in a car, maybe it was months ago, with my daughter who learned how to drive. That was the only time in seven and a half years that I've been in the passenger seat listening to music and rocking out like this." And between the perfectly timed choreography to Queen Bey's track, the surprise guest, or even FLOTUS knowing all the words to Missy's hits, it's hard to nail down our favorite moments from the segment. FLOTUS joins the ranks of many famous faces joining Corden on a carpool adventure, such as Demi Lovato, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson, One Direction, Justin Bieber, Stevie Wonder, George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Gwen Stefani and Adele. The Bachelorette: Who Is JoJo Sobbing About in This Sneak Peek? When JoJo cries, we all cry. Or at least that's how we're feeling after watching this exclusive sneak peek of Monday's episode of The Bachelorette. In the clip, it appears that JoJo has just sent one of the guys home after Monday's emotional cliffhanger, when Luke pulled JoJo aside to tell her he loved her. We knew the decision was going to be hard (for her -- we made up our minds weeks ago), but it looks like JoJo's kind of regretting whoever she sent home. While we would personally have been totally swept off our feet by everything Luke did in last week's episode, from the family gathering to the meadow full of candles to the "I love you," it kind of looked like JoJo had already made up her mind to send him home. So did his words change that decision? We'll have to wait until Monday to find out, but from the looks of those tears and that "I miss him already," we kind of suspect that might be him heading out in that limo, and we're already dreading watching it happen. The Bachelorette airs Mondays at 8 p.m., and next week's Men Tell All special will air Tuesday, July 26 at 8 p.m. on ABC. (Eonline)
"The View" has become more known for its revolving door of co-hosts than its once popular "Hot Topics" segment (Wendy Williams stole that thunder). We're hearing Paula Faris will be the latest co-host to get axed from the table before the show's new fall season. "ABC News was hoping [Paula] would bring a more conservative perspective to the show because she's a conservative Christian. But she doesn't own her opinions and the audience never connects with anyone who's pretending," a source told us. To make matters worse, market research found Faris unlikable to viewers, according to the source. "ABC News did research and Paula scored some of the lowest numbers ever that the network had seen," the source said. Whoopi Goldberg is "elated about this. She has never been a fan of Paula's. The tension on-air has been so thick you could cut it with a knife. Whoopi never misses an opportunity to bite her head off over any given topic," adds the source. Another insider told us: "I haven't heard anything about any research. She works hard and everyone loves Paula. She's a journalist. Her job is to be objective. She was never brought to the table to have the same role as Joy Behar." A rep for the show threw her full support behind Farris. "Paula is a great addition to the team, and she'll absolutely be back as a co-host next season," said the rep. Former host Michelle Collins received her pink slip in June, one month after the show's reps brushed off Page Six's report that she was getting pushed out. Sources say Raven-Symone will also get the boot and fan favorite Sunny Hustin will become a regular host in September. (Page Six)
Weinstein Co, BBC Teaming for 'Les Miserables' TV Mini-Series. The six-part series is being put together by the same team behind 'War & Peace.' Having come together for War & Peace, the Weinsteins and the BBC are set to reunite for another big-budget period TV adaptation, this time moving the action to revolutionary France. Les Miserables, announced Thursday, is set to be a six-part mini-series based on Victor Hugo's acclaimed classic, a co-production between BBC Studios and Lookout Point (also behind War & Peace and the upcoming The Collection) for BBC One in association with Weinstein Television. Andrew Davis, who wrote the War & Peace adaptation, will pen the script, going back to the novel to delve into the many layers of Hugo's story, reveling in Valjean and Javert's cat-and-mouse relationship. Exec producers will be Davies, Bethan Jones for BBC Studios, Faith Penhale and Simon Vaughan for Lookout Point and Harvey Weinstein for Weinstein Television. It was commissioned by Charlotte Moore and Lucy Richer, acting controller of BBC drama commissioning. "Les Miserables is a huge iconic title," Davies. "Most of us are familiar with the musical version which only offers a fragmentary outline of its story. I am thrilled to have the opportunity of doing real justice to Victor Hugo at last by adapting his masterpiece in a six hour version for the BBC, with the same team who made War & Peace." Weinstein said that while the musical version of Les Mis was one of his favorites, the mini-series would be "completely different," and an "intense and serious drama that will find contemporary relevance to what's going on in the world today." "I think the BBC and Weinstein Television collaborations are a new paradigm in the telling of classics-they're modern and yet respectful. And, with the exception of James Bond, nobody does it better than Andrew Davies." BBC Worldwide will globally distribute Les Miserables, with Weinstein Television distributing in the U.S. and China, with an option for Canada. (Hollywood Reporter)
Sharing a picture of herself walking the runway in lingerie, Graham added a text overlay that read, "I will not let others dictate what they think my body should look like for their own comfort, and neither should you." Delonte West is actively working on an NBA comeback -- so says his mother, who tells TMZ Sports her son is getting his life back together after a string of troubling setbacks. "Delonte told me, 'Mom, if it took some things that I had to do to show me some wisdom, I thank God for that.'" "He is a heck of a player ... and he said, 'It's showtime!' He's ready to come back." While many fans congratulated the singer, others simply couldn't look past their hopes that One Direction will be back someday.

"We hate to disappoint you guys that had plans to come see us and promise we'll be back in the near future to share our new music with you." Haim had been scheduled to perform at a handful of festivals, including Way Out West, Tivoli, Oya, Zurich Openair, Electric Picnic and Reading & Leeds. Harry Styles has a "full-time bodyguard" to protect him from fans on the set of his new movie, Dunkirk.
