She was so worth all that morning sickness! Season 6 Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky and her fiance, Kevin Manno, have welcomed their first child together, the couple confirm exclusively to Us Weekly. The couple's daughter, Molly Sullivan Manno, was born at 8:22 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6. She weighed in at 7 pounds, 6 ounces, and measured 22 inches. "This little angel is not even a day old and is already our entire world," Fedotowsky tells Us in a statement. "Molly Sullivan is named after two very important women in our lives. My late-grandmother, Molly Fedotowsky, and Kevin's late-grandmother, Eva Sullivan, will both live on in our little girl." The couple exclusively revealed to Us Weekly this past March that they were expecting a girl. "We couldn't wait to find out the gender, so we got the results at 11 weeks via a blood test," Fedotowsky said at the time. "We seriously admire people who wait until the baby is born. We could not do it!" On July 5, the 31-year-old took to her blog, Ali Luvs, to reveal that she would most likely give birth ahead of her July 14 due date. "My belly has certainly dropped and my doctor feels confident that we won't make it until 40 weeks," she wrote. "Eeppp! I am so excited. I can't imagine what it will feel like to see her and hold her for the first time." Fedotowsky didn't have the easiest pregnancy: She spent the first trimester feeling sick. "I only ate clementines and dry toast for about a month between weeks 7-12," she blogged. "The way I tried to explain it to Kevin is that I felt like I constantly had a hangover but I never got to enjoy the fun part the night before." Later in her pregnancy, the former Bachelor star was placed on modified bed rest. "I have this thing called uterine irritability where I have contractions all day. So, like, every two minutes I get contractions," she told Us on May 20. Fedotowsky and the radio host announced their engagement via Instagram on September 3, 2015. They canceled their wedding plans in Mexico due to Zika virus risks. "It was such a huge disappointment," she told The Knot on June 24. "Even though we won't be pregnant when we get married, we just didn't think it was fair to ask our guests to travel to a location with active Zika virus transmissions ... Most of our friends are in 'baby mode,' and that just wasn't a fair ask." (US Weekly)
It looks like Russell Wilson and Ciara did the deed before they said "I do" ... because we found out they got married before Wednesday's ceremony. TMZ Sports has learned the couple applied for a marriage certificate in King County, Washington, and it was signed by a judge on July 5th, which officially made them husband and wife ... the day before they walked down the aisle. The marriage application lists their government names -- Russell Carrington Wilson and Ciara Princess Harris. So, now we know what Russell had for dessert after the rehearsal dinner. (TMZ)
Idris Elba Fears He's Going to "Burn Out" in Hollywood. Idris Elba is one of the most ubiquitous stars of 2016. With voice roles in Zootopia, The Jungle Book and Finding Dory -- three of the year's highest-grossing films -- and starring roles in Bastille Day and Star Trek Beyond, Elba is more in demand than ever. His next two projects are just as high profile, as he'll star in Nikolaj Arcel's The Dark Tower (in theaters Feb. 17, 2017) and Taika Waititi's Thor: Ragnarok (in theaters Nov. 3, 2017). "It's unhealthy to have that much going on," he laughs in Interview's August issue, on sale July 12. "I don't want to sound ungrateful or anything, but I sleep less, I'm constantly thinking, I'm constantly multitasking, and I really don't know what the effects are going to be when I'm older. I don't ever stop. Not because I'm greedy or anything, but I'm always creating, debating with the part of my brain that is dormant. Wondering how I can move in and create a bit more space and take a bit more time. But it's almost like the more I achieve, the more capacity I have to achieve. I do worry sometimes about whether I'm going to burn out. Not burn myself out, but burn my art out, with audiences going, 'Ah, yeah, I've seen enough now, thanks very much.'" But Elba, 43, has rarely been able to pass up the opportunity to work with some of his favorite movie directors, including Kenneth Branagh, Guy Ritchie, Ridley Scott and Guillermo Del Toro. "The most important thing, which I always look for, is their 360 vision of their film. By 360, I mean every moment has been imagined once or twice, if not 50,000 times, within their heads, from performance to art direction and whatnot. It's been a master class for me. Working with Guy on RocknRolla, he was embedded in every single detail of the film. You could literally spin him around in a blindfold and stop him somewhere and say, 'What about this?' and he'll go, 'Ah, that's this.' And you're the same, and Ridley was exactly like that," Elba says. "Ridley would almost sort of cut the film [Prometheus] while he was watching the takes. Sometimes he'd do a full retake, and sometimes he'd go, 'I just want to do this moment here.'" "But I think the common denominator is that everyone really understands you," he continues. "Some directors hand over portions of their movie to their head of department to the point where it's like, 'I'm not going to talk to you about the costumes, but I'm going to let you talk to the expert.' Rather than, 'You want to talk stitching, let's talk stitching. You want to talk grade of leather? Let's.' The directors [who know every detail] make films that are complete, basically. You're directing a movie, but you are at the head of a ship of people, a whole fleet of people. And being able to manage that -- being able to handle yourself as a director being a leader -- that's massively important." Acting isn't Elba's only love. In addition to working in film and TV, he's also a musician known as DJ Big Driis. After his acting career took off, though, it took him years to return to his first love. "Once I got The Wire, my life changed. I couldn't DJ as much and I couldn't take it seriously because my career as an actor was just getting to a place where I was finally making it in America. I wanted to be on American TV so much. I didn't park DJ'ing; I just sort of ended up becoming more of a studio guy," he tells Jon Favreau, who directed him in The Jungle Book. "I had a bit more money and I could buy every little piece of equipment and drum machine that had just come out -- I've got quite a collection now -- and I continued to collect music." "About five years ago, my career blossomed, but I really missed being out on the road, DJ'ing," Elba says. "So I started picking up gigs here and there, and what occurred to me really quickly was that I was going to water down my passion for DJ'ing, because the type of gigs I was getting were celebrity DJ work, and that just didn't sit right. So I made a decision about five years ago to really do it properly, to do it at that level I had never done it, but take it seriously and not ride the coattails of being an actor. It took a while because I had to take my time to introduce myself into that world: doing remixes, being taken seriously." For more from Elba, pick up Interview's August issue, on newsstands July 12. Sarah Silverman Reveals She Almost Died From Rare Condition: ''I Am Insanely Lucky to Be Alive.'' Sarah Silverman had a terrifying health scare recently. The comedienne took to Facebook earlier Wednesday to reveal that she'd been in the ICU trying to recover from a very rare and life-threatening illness. "Hi. This is me telling everyone in my life at once why I haven't been around. This will not interest everyone so feel free to disregard. I was in the ICU all of last week and I am insanely lucky to be alive. Don't even know why I went to the doctor, it was just a sore throat. But I had a freak case of epiglottitis," she began. Epiglottitis occurs when the tissue protecting the windpipe becomes inflamed and is commonly caused by infection. "I owe my life to Dr. Shawn Nasseri, Dr. Robert Naruse, Dr. Rob Huizenga, every nurse, and every technician & orderly at Cedars who's punch-the-clock jobs happen to save human lives on the regular," she continued. "There's something that happens when three people you're so close to die within a year and then YOU almost die but don't. (That was me. I'm the one that didn't die.) It's a strange dichotomy between, 'Why me?' and the other, 'Why me?' "They couldn't put me fully to sleep for the recovery process because my blood pressure's too low. I was drugged just enough to not feel the pain and have no idea what was happening or where I was. They had to have my hands restrained to keep me from pulling out my breathing tube. My friend Stephanie said I kept writing 'was I in an accident?'" Silverman added that the recovery process led to a personal revelation. "When I woke up 5 days later I didn't remember anything. I thanked everyone at the ICU for my life, went home, and then slowly as the opiates faded away, remembered the trauma of the surgery & spent the first two days home kind of free-falling from the meds / lack of meds and the paralyzing realization that nothing matters. Luckily that was followed by the motivating revelation that nothing matters. "I'm so moved by my real-life hero, Michael Sheen, and amazing Sissies (blood & otherwise) & friendos, who all coordinated so that there wasn't a moment I was alone. It makes me cry. Which hurts my throat. So stop." And while the entire experience is frightening, it wouldn't be a true Sarah Silverman story without a few laughs. "Anyway there are some funny stories too," she added. "I couldn't speak for a while and I don't remember a lot of my 'lucid' time, but Amy (the Zvi) told me I stopped a nurse - like it was an emergency - furiously wrote down a note and gave it to her. When she looked at it, it just said, 'Do you live with your mother?' next to a drawing of a penis. "Also, when I first woke up and the breathing tube came out, I still couldn't talk and they gave me a board of letters to communicate. My loved ones stood there, so curious what was going to be the first thing I had to say. They followed my finger, rapt, as I pointed from letter to letter until I finally spelled out, "Did you see 'Hello My Name is Doris.'" Oh, Sarah, we are so, incredibly happy you're OK. (Eonline)
She's just Leo's type! Leonardo DiCaprio has a new blonde model on his arm, a source exclusively reveals in the latest issue of Us Weekly. The Oscar winner, 41, and Nina Agdal "are dating," says a source close to the Victoria's Secret catwalker. Since May, DiCaprio and the 24-year-old Sports Illustrated cover girl, who previously dated Adam Levine, have already had some globe-trotting adventures. The new duo vacationed in Montauk, New York, in June, and jetted to the private island of Over Yonder Cay in the Bahamas that same month. For now, though, they'll take things slow. "It's super casual," clarifies a pal of the actor, who has a long history of dating runway stars. The Revenant lead was most recently paired with Dutch Victoria's Secret model Chelsey Weimar, and has also been linked to Ela Kawalec, Kelly Rohrbach, Toni Garrn and Anne Vyalitsyna. He also dated Bar Refaeli from 2006 to 2011, and Gisele Bündchen from 2000 to 2005. In April, the environmental activist reignited romance rumors with Rihanna when the two were spotted partying together at Coachella's Neon Carnival. Then in January, DiCaprio and the "This Is What You Came For" singer, 28, shared a sweet moment at a nightclub in Paris in January. Just one year prior, they spent Valentine's Day weekend together in New York City. Agdal's most recent relationship was with model Reid Heidenry. The pair of two years was last photographed together in April. Though he certainly has his pick of top-notch suitors, DiCaprio feels no rush to settle down. "That time will come when that time comes," he told Parade in January, when asked if he believes in marriage. "The truth is, you can't predict marriage. You can't plan it. It's just going to happen when it happens." (US Weekly)
Even Tom Hiddleston is getting sick of the social media sensation that is #Swiddleston. Sources tell us that Taylor Swift is a "clingy girlfriend" and she initiated all the photo-ready displays of affection at her July Fourth extravaganza. The snaps show the pair frolicking in the sea and on the beach. Our spy even noticed a camera-fatigued Hiddleston sneaking off for a beer with some guys. "He seems to get tired of the endless Instagram photo opps after, like, the third hour in the water," sniffed an insider. (Page Six)
Ashley Graham Calls Out Amy Schumer for Not Wanting to Be ''Grouped in'' With Plus Size Women: It ''Felt Like a Double Standard.'' Ashley Graham is incredibly proud of her curves, and one of her biggest goals is to encourage other women to be proud of theirs, too. So when the model heard about Amy Schumer calling out Glamour magazine for labeling her as "plus size," she wasn't entirely supportive. Chatting with Cosmopolitan magazine during her cover interview for the August issue, Ashley explained, "I can see both sides, but Amy talks about being a big girl in the industry. You thrive on being a big girl, but when you're grouped in with us, you're not happy about it? That, to me, felt like a double standard." Interestingly enough, Ashley has also worked to drop the "plus size" from her career title, but she says she still represents it. "Just because I'm not calling myself plus size doesn't mean I'm not representing a woman who is," she explained. "I'm giving curvy women a seat at a table that we've never been invited to before -- a table with high-end fashion people who have never considered us beautiful." In fact, Ashley's Cosmo cover is her very first for the publication -- another stepping stone in her successful modeling career. But work aside, the brunette bombshell is making strides in her personal life as well. For example, in her relationship with husband Justin Ervin. Throughout her extreme rise to fame over the last year, social media has become an outlet for people to comment on their relationship, and they've had to learn how to overcome that together. "One comment on Instagram was, 'I knew a girl her size could only be with a black guy,'" she revealed. "I think that's so ugly. But we talk about the fact that I'm white and he's black all the time. I've seen how racist America is. It's opened my eyes to how ignorant I have been, how white privilege has taken over a lot of my thoughts and actions because it's just something that I take for granted." (Eonline)
Gayle King's Ex-Husband Publicly Apologizes for Cheating on Her. Gayle King's ex-husband has issued a public apology for cheating on her 26 years ago. Though Gayle has spoken about it before, William Bumpus' past indiscretion made headlines again this week after the CBS This Morning host, 61, made a quip about him in Vanity Fair's Proust Questionnaire. "I'm not a huge fan of the woman who I caught naked with my now ex-husband on June 24, 1990, at 9:16 p.m.," the news anchor recalled, "but I don't remember the details." Gayle divorced William, Connecticut Assistant Attorney General, in 1993 after 11 years of marriage. The exes share two adult children, daughter Kirby Bumpus and son Will Bumpus Jr. William released a statement, via his rep, to The New York Post's Page Six Thursday. "I have been haunted with this life altering choice. Though I have dealt with this privately...I publicly apologize for the major transgression that dramatically changed all of our lives. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Gayle and how she handled herself with grace. Despite the situation, she kept our children, as well as my relationship and involvement with them, as a clear priority," he said. "Gayle was a great wife, an excellent mother and a fantastic co-parent. I am eternally grateful for all that she has done and continues to do to enrich my life and the lives of our incredible adult children. I continue to be a work in progress and have spent the last 26 years striving to be a better man and father. I applaud Gayle's continued phenomenal success and friendship!" Asked to identify the woman in question, Gayle told Page Six via e-mail, "She knows her name!" Gayle has spoken about her ex-husband before, including during a SiriusXM radio interview with Will Smith in 2006. "I was married to a cheater," she said. "I went to marital counseling. I have been divorced since 1993, so I'm all healed and everything. I have worked it out. I'm not bitter. I'm OK. I'm really OK." In fact, co-parenting was easier than Gayle had imagined. "It's so important for people who have children together to get along," she explained. "Regardless of how you feel about the other as a spouse, you still have these children to raise together." When Gayle married William in 1982, her best friend Oprah Winfrey felt sad, "mostly because I just didn't think it was going to work out." As she recalled during a joint interview with Gayle in the August 2006 issue of O, The Oprah Magazine, "It didn't feel joyful. You know how you go to weddings and they're full of joy? There are some weddings you go to and you're just filled with all this hope for the couple. And you feel that there's something special going on. I didn't feel that at yours." Oprah served as Gayle's maid of honor, but even so, "It just felt kind of pitiful." Why did Oprah keep quiet then? "I never told you because it wasn't my place to say that," she told Gayle, who replied, "I wouldn't have believed you anyway." Oprah then confessed she had kept her mouth shut for another, slightly more selfish reason. "I felt like, well, maybe it's just me being jealous. Maybe I couldn't feel the joy because I was feeling like our friendship was going to change. But it didn't." (Eonline)

Gretchen Carlson Was NOT The Only Woman Allegedly Sexually Harassed By Fox News CEO Roger Ailes -- Plus Network Announces Investigation! As you may know, Gretchen Carlson, the former host of Fox News' The Real Story with Gretchen Carlson, filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against the network's chairman and CEO Roger Ailes. Well unfortunately, it sounds like Gretchen may not be the only victim as a few other women have come forward since the news broke of Carlson's lawsuit -- and their stories are DISGUSTING! Apparently, the former newswoman's courage to stand up to her former employer has given other women strength as one female Fox News contributor, who asked to remain anonymous said that Ailes "asked me to turn around so he can see my ass." Classy. But that's not all as ANOTHER woman who was a Fox News employee said that the CEO told her she could only wear dresses on air. SRSLY?! Oh, and if that's not bad enough, the same woman also dished on Roger's hiring process saying: "He always brags to people about how he doesn't do polling or testing when he chooses his on-air talent. He told me that if he was thinking of hiring a woman, he'd ask himself if he would fuck her, and if he would, then he'd hire her to be on-camera. He then said if it was a man he'd think about whether he could sit down for a baseball game with him and not get annoyed of him. If he could, then he'd hire him." BLEH! What's incredible though is that the Huffington Post reports that since the lawsuit was announced, Carlson's attorney, Nancy Erika Smith, has been contacted by "at least 10" other women who want to talk about the businessman's alleged behavior. Of course, the 76-year-old had to issue a statement trying to discredit Gretchen saying: "Gretchen Carlson's allegations are false. This is a retaliatory suit for the network's decision not to renew her contract, which was due to the fact that her disappointingly low ratings were dragging down the afternoon lineup. When Fox News did not commence any negotiations to renew her contract, Ms. Carlson became aware that her career with the network was likely over and conveniently began to pursue a lawsuit. Ironically, Fox News provided her with more on-air opportunities over her 11-year tenure than any other employer in the industry, for which she thanked me in her recent book. This defamatory lawsuit is not only offensive, it is wholly without merit and will be defended vigorously." The good news is that Fox News' parent company, 21st Century Fox already announced that it's looking into the allegations against the CEO, as well as former Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy as he also allegedly sexually harassed Carlson. 21st Century Fox released a statement saying: "The company has seen the allegations against Mr. Ailes and Mr. Doocy. We take these matters seriously. While we have full confidence in Mr. Ailes and Mr. Doocy, who have served the company brilliantly for over two decades, we have commenced an internal review of the matter." Now Mr. Ailes IS the CEO, so we'll see how deep of an investigation this really is, but we're at least glad to see the right steps are being made. Here's hoping some truth will be revealed after a VERY thorough investigation! (Perez Hilton)

Naked Emily Ratajkowski Rides a Horse in Harper's Bazaar and Piers Morgan Is Not Happy About It. There's nothing like experiencing the great outdoors on horseback...naked. Emily Ratajkowski appears in the August issue of Harper's Bazaar doing exactly that -- horseback riding in some unknown mountain range while 100 percent naked. With her long tresses covering all the private places, Ratajkowski looks gorgeous atop her horse. Don't be mistaken, though; she isn't naked just for naked's sake. The model has taken a strong stance on nudity, having defended Kim Kardashian's infamous naked selfie in the past. Now she's explaining why she's not only comfortable with nudity but also empowered by it. "The world should not be exclusive of the ideal body. It has to include all ideals, all bodies. The whole idea is that when Kim takes a nude selfie, she's just seeking attention," she tells the magazine. "That's not the issue. A woman can be seeking attention and also make a statement. They don't need to be mutually exclusive." What confuses her, however, is the double standard women are held to when it comes to taking ownership of their sexuality. "You know, when Lena Dunham takes her clothes off, she gets flack, but it's also considered brave; when Justin Bieber takes off his shirt, he's a grown up," she explains. "But when a woman who is sexual takes off her top, it plays into something." Although her Harper's Bazaar spread adds to her interview's message, newsman Piers Morgan wasn't too happy about the photos. The former CNN broadcaster took to Twitter to comment on Ratajkowski's photos, tweeting at her, "Do you want me to buy you some clothes? You look freezing." Not one to stay silent, the model fired back with a retort. "@piersmorgan thanks, but I don't need clothes as much as you need press." This is hardly Morgan's first time making a comment about women posing nude. When Kim shared her naked selfie -- the one that Ratajkowski defended -- Morgan wrote an entire column about it and how "depressing" it was after also asking Kim if she wanted him to buy her clothes. "I know the old man's $50 million in debt, Kim - but this is absurd," he tweeted at Kim. "Want me to buy you some clothes?" In the column, Morgan wrote, "She still looks fantastic, and of course has every right to post as many naked pictures as she likes. It's her body, her life," he wrote, "but it's hard to escape the creeping suspicion that this new frenzied and frankly rather desperate attempt to 'break the internet' is happening because other younger members of her family have been grabbing all the scantily-clad attention recently, notably half-sister 20-year-old Kendall 'Instagram Queen' Jenner." Kim took to Twitter to respond to those who criticized her, calling out Chloe Grace Moretz, Bette Midler and more. (Eonline)
Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher Hit the Beach in Mexico Ahead of Their Sixth Wedding Anniversary. There must be something in the water, because summer is only getting hotter, thanks to Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher. The country music superstar, 33, and the Nashville Predators centre, 36, enjoyed some fun in the sun in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Wednesday. The couple's vacation couldn't have come at a more opportune time, as Carrie is in the midst of a month-long break from the Storyteller Tour: Stories in the Round. The couple, who will celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary Sunday, spent the day basking in the sun, strolling on the beach and dipping their feet into the ocean. In June, Carrie revealed that her family -- including 16-month-old Isaiah Fisher -- would be getting some R&R sooner than later. "I think we're going to try and take a vacation this year. It's been a couple of years since we've gone anywhere, so we deserve that," the singer told Extra. "We just like to relax. Give us a beach somewhere, a lake -- we're good. We're easy to please." Carrie made sure Isaiah would be entertained. "I'm always looking up baby-friendly things to do in wherever we are... He loves being outside. I want him to have childhood normalcy... We take him down to the pools, and the hotels and let him splash around because a kid would do that." Carrie's tour will resume July 22 at the Great Jones County Fairgrounds in Monticello, Iowa, but rest assured, she's already planning her next family vacation. "I have some future plans for an RV [trip] for sure," the "Church Bells" singer revealed. "We will be taking some summer drives." The final stop on Carrie's tour is Nov. 28 in West Valley City, Utah. After that, she hopes to spend some more time in her home state of Oklahoma. "I'd like to come back more," the singer told Extra, adding, "It's a small town. It's always nice to drive through town and be like, 'Well, that's new,' or, 'Where did that go?' Things change and evolve, but it still feels like home." (Eonline)
Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston Are a Match Made in Fashion Heaven. Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston are so in sync. The world's most talked about couple boarded a private plane in Rhode Island Wednesday. Swift, 26, and Hiddleston, 35, were photographed arriving at LAX airport a few hours later -- wearing matching outfits, no less. Swift modeled a black and gray plaid dress and oversized navy sweater, while Hiddleston wore a navy jacket over his white V-neck shirt and black jeans. Swift seems to enjoy coordinating her ensembles, as many of her friends -- including Cara Delevingne and Gigi Hadid and -- wore matching swimsuits and onesies over July 4 weekend. Though they have traveled all over the world during their brief romance -- making stops in the Italy, the U.K. and the U.S. -- it's time for Hiddleston to get back to work. Production on his new film, Thor: Ragnarok, began at Village Roadshow Studios in Queensland July 3. Hiddleston's co-star, Chris Hemsworth, recently posted an Instagram video from the set, while director Taika Waititi has also used social media to reveal details about the third installment in the franchise. At this point, it's unknown if Swift will join Hiddleston on location. Given how rapidly their romance is progressing, though, it seems inevitable. After meeting each other's parents in June, Swift introduced Hiddleston to new and old members of her squad, including Uzo Aduba, Alana Haim, Martha Hunt, Karlie Kloss, Blake Lively, Rachel Platten and Ruby Rose. "Tom has met all of Taylor's best friends at this point in their relationship," a source recently told E! News. "They all really like Tom and like how he treats Taylor. Things are moving fast between them but none of her friends are worried because they never have seen her this happy." (Eonline)
Hedge funder Brett Barna threw a wild "Wolf of Wall Street"-style Hamptons party -- awash with Champagne, scores of bikini-clad women and costumed gun-toting midgets -- and allegedly trashed a $20 million mansion. Barna, a portfolio manager at Louis Bacon's Moore Capital Management, hosted the all-day "#Sprayathon" pool party on Sunday, where 1,000 people doused themselves in bubbly as rapper Ace Hood performed. Now the furious owner of the 14-bedroom estate in Bridgehampton plans to sue Barna, 31, for $1 million, saying the Wall Street hot shot had claimed the party would be a fundraiser for an animal charity for a mere 50 guests. Plus, Barna is disputing the $27,000 Airbnb rental and is refusing to pay. The owner, who asked to not be named, told us, "Brett came to me dropping Louis Bacon's name and saying he was a big deal with the Robin Hood Foundation. He said there would be 50 people at the event and it was for animal rescue. But the only animals there were the people, a thousand of them. They drowned themselves in Champagne, they had midgets they threw in the pool, they broke into the house, trashed the furniture, art was stolen, we found used condoms. So many people were there that the concrete around the pool crumbled and fell into the water. It was like 'Jersey Shore' meets a frat party. We are preparing a massive lawsuit .?.?. We're waiting to serve him. Brett was last seen on Sunday chugging Champagne with two midgets." Wild social media posts show partygoers dousing themselves in booze and dancing wildly. This is an annual bacchanal: Last year #Sprayathon revelers started a brush fire at a Hamptons manse owned by "Hercules" actor Kevin Sorbo. A rep for Moore didn't comment, but a source said they raised $100,000 for Last Chance Animal Rescue, and they hired cleaners and left the house in good condition. Barna didn't respond. (Page Six)
Emily Ratajkowski isn't afraid to show a little skin. The actress, 25, stripped down for Harper's Bazaar's August issue, on newsstands July 19. "The world should not be exclusive of the ideal body," she told famous feminist Naomi Wolf, who interviewed Ratajkowski for the magazine. "It has to include all ideals, all bodies." Ratajkowski-who has posted her fair share of nude photos on her social media accounts-came to the defense of Kim Kardashian's infamous nude selfie once again. "The whole idea is that when Kim takes a nude selfie, she's just seeking attention. That's not the issue," she said. "A woman can be seeking attention and also make a statement. They don't need to be mutually exclusive." The model noted that society reacts to different people's bodies in different ways. "When Lena Dunham takes her clothes off, she gets flack, but it's also considered brave; when Justin Bieber takes off his shirt, he's a grown up," she said. "But when a woman who is sexual takes off her top, it plays into something." Ratajkowski also opened up about going through puberty at an early age, and how that affected how others reacted to her own body. "My teachers, my boyfriends, my parents' friends didn't understand how complex it all was," she said. "Because of third-wave feminism, I understood that there are all of these f------up ideals of beauty put on young women; that there was something to be scared about in the entertainment world." "But yet the people I knew in my everyday life, they [didn't realize] their faux paus, their missteps," she continued, "and since they knew me it was much harder because the comments felt personal." Hanson Has Big Plans for the 20th Anniversary of "MMMBop" (Yes, It's Really Been 20 Years). The Hanson brothers aren't really amazed that they're all in their 30s -- that's kind of how time works, you know? -- but they understand the Internet's fascination with the fact that they are so much older now than when they first became famous. "I think we broke onto the pop culture scene as young kids and I think people make that connection and have that association. I think a lot of the 'Oh my god, I can't believe it's been this long since a song came out' is that people see themselves," Taylor Hanson, now 33, tells E! News on the set of ABC's new summer series Greatest Hits. "They go, 'Oh my gosh, has that much time passed?'" Adds Zac Hanson, now 30, "In the end, it's still a compliment because people are using you as a point of reference and usually it's something that says, 'Oh, I remember that person, I remember that band, I remember that song and that makes me feel good, that makes me feel good about myself, that time period was good and wow, I'm really far from that.' It's a positive association relating to the past." The brothers will perform "MMMBop" on tonight's episode of Greatest Hits -- a song they've embraced in the nearly 20 years –yes, two decades! -- since the song was released. "We have never run from our past. We definitely still sing 'MMMBop'. When we do concerts, we still play old songs," Zac explains. In 2017, Hanson will celebrate 25 years playing together as a band and 20 years since the release of "MMMBop." As you might imagine, 25 years of material means that set lists for their shows are becoming increasingly difficult to make. "Most of our shows are about two and a half hours long," confesses eldest brother Isaac Hanson, now 35. After tonight's blast from the past on Greatest Hits, where they'll perform alongside Echosmith, you won't have to wait too long for new material from the Oklahoma brothers. Says Isaac, "We're doing random shows around the U.S. What we've really got our sights on is next year, and 20 years since our first record, which we're really excited about." Press play on the video above to find out when you can expect a new Hanson album, and tune in to their performance on Greatest Hits at 9 p.m. on ABC. (Eonline)
Justin Bieber, Meghan Trainor, Nick Jonas, Carly Rae Jepsen and More Stars Share a Bed in SFW Kanye West "Famous" Parody. Kanye West made his bed, and now he has to lie in it. Weeks after West's "Famous" visual debuted at The Forum in L.A. (and was live-streamed on Tidal), BBC Radio 1 has parodied the rapper's music video. The station recruited comedy duo Ant & Dec, as well as 5 Seconds of Summer's Michael Clifford, Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood and Ashton Irwin, Justin Bieber, Craig David, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Carly Rae Jepsen, Nick Jonas, Troye Sivan and Meghan Trainor, to parody the musician's controversial chef-d'oeuvre. Vincent Desiderio's painting Sleep inspired West's visual. In his latest release, a camera pans over nude, silent likenesses of George W. Bush, Donald Trump, Anna Wintour, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Taylor Swift , West, Kim Kardashian, Ray J, Amber Rose, Caitlyn Jenner and Bill Cosby. In BBC Radio 1's parody, though, the participants remain fully clothed and engage in pillow talk. The radio station filmed the musicians separately, over a period of time, using stand-ins. Thanks to some clever editing, it appears as if the stars were in bed with one another. "Out the two of us, who do you think is the hottest?" Fernandez-Versini asks. Bieber replies, "Probably me." After a beat, the singer smiles and says, "No, I'm just messing with you, but I do have a perfect, symmetrical face." Fernandez-Versini challenges her bedmate to spend a minute giving her compliments. "You're kind. You are handsome. You have a nice jacket. You are fit. You have nice shoes," Bieber says. "You are, uh...You've got a good haircut. Nice little jugular action you've got going on here." (OK, so Bieber was really talking to BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show host Nick Grimshaw.) Other singers, including Jepsen, Jonas and Trainor, used puns inspired by their own song lyrics. This isn't the first time West's "Famous" video has been parodied, of course; ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! and CBS' The Late Show both mocked the visual days after its June 24 premiere. (Eonline)
Shakira Shares Hip-Shaking Teaser for "La Bicicleta." Those hips don't lie! Finally, Shakira announced the release date of her highly anticipated video "La Bicicleta" with Carlos Vives. The Colombian singer posted a teaser of the video on Instagram and true to her style -- there's some hip-shaking going on. Don't miss the video premiere this Friday, July 8. The two filmed the music video for the song in their native Colombia and have shared several behind-the-scenes pictures from the set. This is one of our favorites that Shakira shared of herself in a funky blue dress with Carlos by her side and of course, two bicycles. Luckily, this friendship isn't just a musical one. Last week Vives was there to console Shakira and her son Milan when Gerard Pique's team lost in the #EURO2016. The 39-year-old star shared a photo of the sad, but adorable incident. The two enjoyed a reunion in Paris and discussed their children and future of music. We seriously can't wait to see this video! (Eonline)
The band that helped catapult Prince to international superstardom is reuniting in his memory. The Revolution, which backed up Prince in the 1980s, will play two shows Sept. 2-3 at First Avenue, the downtown Minneapolis nightclub where Prince and the Revolution filmed "Purple Rain." The Revolution said Wednesday that they and the world mourned Prince "with profound loss and apocalyptic grief" after learning of his death in April. The shows will feature Wendy Melvoin, Lisa Coleman, Brownmark, Dr. Fink, and Bobby Z, with special guests Dez Dickerson and Andre Cymone, who were Prince's sidemen early in his career. The Revolution disbanded in 1986 but reunited for a few shows without Prince, including a 2012 benefit. Tickets go on sale Friday, with a presale Thursday through a Minnesota Public Radio station. Sir Tom Jones might be returning to The Voice when it airs on ITV for its next series. Despite being axed from the show by BBC bosses, ITV producers - who will be taking over as of next year when the show makes its big move - have been very keen on offering the musical legend his turning chair back. However, the 76 year-old has yet to give his final answer, unlike his former co-judge Will.i.am who has confirmed he will be remaining on the show when it migrates to its new host channel. According to The Sun, a source has revealed: "Tom is keen to get back on the show - something he wouldn't have been if it was still on the Beeb rather than ITV." The source also told the publication that Jones has yet to confirm his return as he is still struggling with the loss of his wife of 59 years Melinda Rose Woodward. "The only thing that's holding him back is whether it's too soon after his wife's death and whether that makes it the right decision," said the source. While Will.i.am will be returning to the show, fellow judge Boy George has confirmed he will not be coming back for the new series on ITV. We wonder what Tom will decide... (British Glamour)
Calvin Harris has beaten Taylor Swift to the punch, writing a cheating song ... about her. The track is called "Ole," and it's written from Tom Hiddleston's POV. The lyrics make it clear ... Calvin believes Taylor had hooked up with Tom way before she broke up with him. One lyric goes, "I see online that you began to be a good girl and take trips with your boyfriend. Being attentive, continue to pretend ..." If that wasn't clear enough, the song goes on ... "You've hidden my name in your phone so you can call me to tell me you've been going through hell. Left him alone and you booked in a hotel." And, using Tom's famous 'Thor' character Loki, the song goes on, "Low key you won't tell none of your friends about me." Our Calvin sources say he has no animus towards Tom ... he feels he's under Taylor's spell, and the one who made the fateful decisions was her and her alone. They shot the music video south of the border. (TMZ)
Country Music Association Takes Steps to Combat Awards Campaigning. A new ballot feature is intended to quel the deluge of voting solicitations in CMA members' in-boxes. As the Country Music Association (CMA) sent out the first ballots on July 5 for its 50th annual awards, the organization hoped a new feature will reduce the unseemly campaigning that accompanies the process. The 2016 vote introduces Nominee Showcase, a centralized location for the second and final ballots that will give backers of the nominees a chance to attach vital information -- such as statistics, credits, sound files and videos -- that members can access while making their decisions. The move is intended to satisfy multiple issues. By providing a specific locale for info about the nominees, it gives voters an easy-to-reference tool for comparison and is expected to reduce the volume of solicitations CMA members have typically received. It similarly cuts expenses for labels and managers, since the new, free service is intended to eliminate the need for costly email blasts and physical mailers. Additionally, it may give the electorate better information in some of the less-publicized categories -- particularly musician of the year, where the candidates do not typically solicit votes and the membership has not received information about their accomplishments during the eligibility period. CMA is offering a July 20 tutorial for nominees' representatives, with the second round of balloting slated for Aug. 15-24 and the final ballot set for Oct. 10. Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will host the 50th annual awards on Nov. 2 on CBS. It will be the ninth straight time they have co-hosted the show. (Billboard)
Steven Adler Reunites with Guns N Roses At Cincinnati Gig. The packed crowd at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio, were already jacked to see the version of Guns N' Roses they'd been promised -- the reunited one featuring guitarist Slash, singer Axl Rose and alarmingly healthy looking bassist Duff McKagan. And through about their first hour or so on a muggy night in The Jungle (because that's what they call the Cincinnati Bengals football stadium, after all), those fans had no complaints. Axl and three-fifths of the members of the once baddest band in the world rocketed through an opening salvo that included "It's So Easy," "Mr. Brownstone," "Welcome to the Jungle," "Double Talkin' Jive" and an appropriately epic cover of Wings' "Live and Let Die." Slash played some fiery solos, Axl changed inappropriate t-shirts a few times and ran all over the stage showing no signs of lingering pain from a broken foot he suffered just before the tour kicked off. Oh, and long-estranged drummer Steven Adler came out and jammed on two songs. Did not see that coming. "On the drums, you might know this guy. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Steven Adler!" Axl announced to everyone's shock and awe just moments after the band finished the one-two of "Sweet Child O' Mine" and "Better." And there he was in all his glory, Adler's voluminous blonde hair spilling out onto the shoulders of some kind of army jacket covered in patches, his signature crooked grin lighting up the stage. It was the sight GNR fans had been waiting for since Rose announced the original lineup was getting back together for the Not In This Lifetime tour and everyone asked "but where's Steven?" (and original rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, but that gulf seems too wide to bridge.) The energy in the crowd was electric as Adler bashed away on "Out Ta Get Me," the grin on his face reason enough for think that some detente had been reached and Guns might be (nearly) whole again for the first time since 1990. Rose continued working his way up and across and around the ramps on the stage flanked by two enormous video screens, wearing a black "The Bitch Is Back" t-shirt, his red, shoulder-length hair held back by a red bandana. "I guess we should do another one," Rose said, keeping touring drummer Frank Ferrer on ice for a few more minutes. It was Adler's first appearance with the band since 1990, but you wouldn't have known it listening to "My Michelle," which hit a groove early and ended with Slash, sweat streaming off his arms and dripping from his signature curly black mop of hair hidden under a top hat, hopping up to the riser to give Adler a hug. Adler gifted his sticks to an audience member and Rose seemed to almost smile as he said again, "ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Steven Adler." And just like that, the dream was over again as Slash and Stradlin's replacement, guitarist Richard Fortus, played a duet on Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here," which segued into Derek and the Dominos' "Layla" and then an overstuffed "November Rain." The rest of the night went pretty much as it has on most dates of the original band's first tour together in 23 years -- Slash rocked a double-neck guitar for a cover of Bob Dylan's "Knockin' on Heaven's Door," for which Axl donned a white cowboy hat over his red bandana and black snakeskin leather jacket. The cowbell-abusing "Nightrain" roared the set to a close after more than two hours and the encore kicked off with Slash and Fortus trading subtle riffs on an instrumental cover of the Rolling Stones' "Waiting on a Friend." Axl came out whistling and wearing his umpteenth fresh t-shirt of the night (a black Stones Voodoo Lounge tour shirt) for "Patience," his two enormous diamond-encrusted crosses swinging back and forth during an amped cover of The Who's "The Seeker." And then, after some fireworks and a fierce "Paradise City," the dream was over. Adler came out to take a bow with the rest of the gang, that always-present smile stretched maybe just a little wider for one night. (Billboard)

Drake Pens Emotional Letter Following Alton Sterling Shooting. Drake has joined in the chorus of grief and outrage over the shooting of Alton Sterling by police officers in Baton Rouge. The killing of the 37-year-old Sterling was caught on tape and has been widely condemned for what appears to be yet another deadly show of force by a police department on a black man. In an open letter posted to Instagram, Drake sends his condolences to the Sterling family, and speaks of the troubling video which left him "feeling disheartened, emotional and truly scared." He added, "It's impossible to ignore that the relationship between black and brown communities and law enforcement remains as strained as it was decades ago. No one begins their life as a hashtag. Yet the trend of being reduced to one continues." According to CNN, the president of the Baton Rouge NAACP branch called for the city's police chief and chief executive to resign in light of Tuesday's shooting death of Sterling, a black man who was seen in a video being pinned to the ground and shot after he allegedly got into an altercation with the officers. Drake, a Canadian citizen who calls America his "second home", says he remains optimistic that "things can change for the better. Open and honest dialogue is the first step." Chuck D, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Meek Mill, Nick Jonas and Justin Timberlake are among the many artists who have commented on the tragedy. (Hollywood Reporter)

The success of a film is best judged by it's opening weekend takings at the box office, meaning Emma Watson's latest project might leave her feeling a bit dispirited... Let's do a comparison: The last installment in the Harry Potter franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II - in which Emma continued her role as Hermoine Granger - took (a record-breaking) £327,000,000 in it's opening weekend. Emma's new film, The Colony, took a total of £47. That's less than a round of drinks with your mates. To be fair, the film, in which Emma stars as a woman trying to rescue her husband from a religious cult in China, was released in only five cinemas across the UK. In addition, the film's distributer Signature Entertainment insisted that the box office takings were not a good indication as the film had been intended to be streamed online. The poor takings are reminiscent of Uma Thurman's Motherhood (2009) which took $88 and Morgan Freeman's Momentum (2015) which made only £46. You win some you lose some, Emma. (British Glamour)
How Michael Bay's 'The Rock' Was Used to Justify War in Iraq. The newly published Iraq War Report claims British intelligence may have ripped off the plot of the action thriller to help justify military intervention. Want someone to blame for the Iraq War? Blame Michael Bay. According to the Chilcot report, the exhaustive investigation into Britain's role in the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003, British intelligence used the plot of Bay's film The Rock to help make its case for war. According to the report, published on Wednesday, the British secret service MI6 took elements of the 1996 action thriller which became part of the "valuable intelligence" they presented arguing for military intervention to topple Iraq leader Saddam Hussein. The film stars Ed Harris as a rogue Marine who seizes a stockpile of rockets armed with the deadly nerve gas VX who deadly takes control of Alcatraz prison and threatens to launch his arsenal against San Francisco. Nicolas Cage plays a chemical weapons specialist with the FBI who enlists a former prisoner (Sean Connery), the only man to ever escape from the prison island, to help him sneak in and thwart Harris' plan. The element of the story that made into Chilcot inquiry concerned Harris' nerve gas, which was famously stored in cylindrical glass containers (perfect for an edge-of-seat scene in which they roll precariously across the floor). In an MI6 report from September 2002, a "new source" with "phenomenal access" to Iraq's biological and chemical weapons capabilities claimed that nerve agents VX, sarin and soman had been produced at a facility in Al-Yarmuk, and stored in containers including "linked hollow glass spheres." Eyebrows were soon raised inside MI6 after the report was circulated, with "one recipient" pointing out the similarities to the film. According to the Inquiry, it was suggested that "glass containers were not typically used in chemical munitions; and that a popular move (The Rock) had inaccurately depicted nerve agents being carried in glass beads or spheres." But despite these doubts, the same source was again cited in a report claiming that Iraq was accelerating its chemical and biological weapons programs and had built more facilities. The report, claimed the Chilcott Inquiry, played a significant role in the arguments put forth by the British Prime Minister at the time, Tony Blair, in his justification for war, helping the PM make "key judgments about Iraq's chemical and biological weapons capabilities." By 2003, however, MI6's doubts had been confirmed and the "source had been revealed to have been lying," according to the Inquiry, and after a meeting in June was concluded to be "a fabricator who had lied from the outset." But by then, of course, the Iraq War was already in full swing with Hussein-nerve gas in glass spheres or not-already toppled. Tony Blair is the central figure in the Chilcott report, which offered a damning verdict, asserting that Blair had deliberately exaggerated the threat posed by Saddam Hussein and disregarded warnings about the consequences of going to war. Weinstein Co. Pushes 'Tulip Fever' Release 7 Months. The period drama starring Oscar winner Alicia Vikander opposite Dane DeHaan and Christoph Waltz was slated to open July 15. In the latest shuffle of its release schedule, the studio has pushed the period drama seven months, from a release date of July 15 to Feb. 24, 2017. The film, starring Oscar winner Alicia Vikander opposite Dane DeHaan and Christoph Waltz, was shot back in 2014 and has been finished for more than a year and was just nine days away from release when TWC announced the push. Justin Chadwick directed from an adapted script by Tom Stoppard. The film is set to open opposite Paramount's God Particle and Open Road's Sleepless on its new date. (Hollywood Reporter)

The Walking Dead Beefs Up Cast With 4 New Series Regulars. The Walking Dead's cast just got a whole lot bigger. E! News has confirmed the series has added four new series regulars -- but they're familiar faces. Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan), Tom Payne (Jesus), Xander Berkley (Gregory) and Austin Amelio (Dwight) have been added to the growing cast of series regulars on AMC's zombie apocalypse drama. All four actors portray significant characters from the comic books series done by Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard. They join the series regular cast of: Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Chandler Riggs, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Michael Cudlitz, Lennie James, Seth Gilliam, Ross Marquand, Austin Nichols, Alanna Masterson, Christian Serratos, Josh McDermitt and Sonequa Martin-Green. But not all of them will return for The Walking Dead season seven. Season six ended on a cliffhanger. Morgan's character Negan was finally introduced and he held several series regular characters captive: Rick (Lincoln), Michonne (Gurira), Glenn (Yeun), Daryl (Reedus), Aaron (Marquand), Rosita (Serratos), Carl (Riggs), Maggie (Cohan), Eugene (McDermitt), Abraham (Cudlitz) and Sasha (Martin-Green) were all at the mercy of Negan and Lucille, his bat covered in barbed wire. The cliffhanger riled fans and prompted Kirkman, who is an executive producer on the series, to speak out about it, eventually apologizing to fans who were upset at the ending that depicted a murder, but didn't reveal who was killed. "For some of you, that effort backfired and you're angry. And for that, I'm sorry. The only thing I can PROMISE you is that the season seven premiere is going to be awesome," he wrote in a letters column in an issue of The Walking Dead comic. "And every minute of the season six finale was important and was setting something up that you probably won't see coming...Be afraid...be very afraid. And excited!" To help keep the cliffhanger a secret, The Walking Dead filmed several different scenes with multiple characters getting killed. Reedus said the return will be worth the wait. "I think probably the planet is going to explode. That's my feeling. It's so good," Reedus said on Entertainment Weekly Radio regarding the season seven premiere. "Every time we go on a promotional tour talking about what's going to come, we all say 'Oh my God, it's amazing. I can't wait for you to see it.' But it continually surprises me how this show grows and is put together and the execution of it -- no pun intended. It blows my mind. It just continually reaches a new plateau every single time, and this is the highest plateau we've ever been. So just wait. It's worth the wait, trust me." The Hollywood Reporter first reported the cast additions. The Walking Dead returns in October. (Eonline)
Here's How Royal Pains Ended After 8 Seasons. Farewell, HankMed! Royal Pains said goodbye Wednesday night after eight seasons of serving the medical needs of rich folks in the Hamptons. While it's always bittersweet when a beloved show ends, don't worry -- there were definitely plenty of happy endings here. Want to know how everyone fared? Well, essentially they all got pretty much what they wanted. Divya (Reshma Shetty) got into med school, and had some lovely, tearful goodbyes with the rest of the HankMed crew before heading off to Johns Hopkins. Evan (Paulo Costanzo) and Paige (Brooke D'Orsay) not only welcomed their new baby, they decided to foster an entire family of kids who really needed them. And Hank (Mark Feuerstein) headed abroad, found Jill (Jill Flint) in Africa, and confessed his true feelings: He wasn't there to visit. He loved her and wanted to be with her. "The reason I stayed, the reason was you. And not just because you understood the Hamptons, you understood me. From the moment we met," he told her. How romantic! Even more romantic? The cut to the following summer (back in the Hamptons), with Evan and Paige's kiddos running around everywhere and Jill with a big ol' rock on her finger. That's right -- Hank popped the question and the couple got engaged. They're still working abroad, but head to the Hamptons for their summer getaway. Happy endings for everyone! Would you expect anything less? What did you think of the Royal Pains series finale? Was it everything you hoped or did it leave you wanting more? (Eonline)

No green eyed monsters here! Bethenny Frankel took to her blog late on Wednesday, July 6, to answer to Luann de Lesseps' claims that the other Real Housewives of New York City are just jealous of her new relationship. As Us Weekly reported, dinner that her new love, Tom D'Agostino Jr., had been shopping for rings and was clearly excited about the prospect of becoming his fiancee. But things turned messy when Sonja Morgan decided it would be kind to point out that she'd been friends with benefits with Tom for the past decade (Tom also has a history with Ramona Singer). De Lesseps stormed out of the dinner and spoke to the camera later about how her Housewives pals had reacted. "It's a jealousy thing. I think they cannot stand that I found my soulmate and that I am truly happy and in love. I think it pissed them off. There's a certain amount of 'Huh, it should be me,'" she said. Something Frankel took serious issue with on her Bravo blog! "Wow. I can say many things but one I am certain about is that no one is jealous of Luann's relationship with Tom," she blasted. "At this point, we are really hoping it is real and that Luann is happy, but no one is jealous. Fact." And what about the fact that Tom isn't exactly, well, new to the Desperate Housewives gang. "So three people at this table have been with Tom? I mean the Upper East Side is small, but Manhattan is huge. Something smells fishy," Frankel added. "Why the rush? What is it with this guy swimming in one tiny fishbowl? I'm feeling my usual skeptical self," she cautioned. (US Weekly)
Lisa Vanderpump is coming back to 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,' TMZ has learned, but there are serious strings attached. Production sources tell us Lisa made some demands, but none had to do with money. She wants 'RHOBH' to showcase her work in the LGBT community. She also wants the show to put a spotlight on the work she does to fight AIDS. And finally she wants publicity for her fight to put a stop to the dog meat market in China. We're told producers agreed to give her what she wants, so she's coming back. Lisa didn't raise issues over what she considers bullying by her castmates last season. She realizes it just goes with the territory of reality TV. (TMZ)
U.K., South Africa Sign TV Co-Production Treaty. The pact, which builds on a film treaty, wants to "encourage the sharing of knowledge and ideas and drive economic growth through television co-production." The U.K. and South Africa have signed a television co-production agreement designed to "strengthen ties within the broadcast industries, encourage the sharing of knowledge and ideas and drive economic growth through television co-production." The pact, unveiled on Thursday, builds on an existing film co-production treaty between the companies and was negotiated by Britain's Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the British Film Institute and South Africa's Department for Arts and Culture. Television co-productions that qualify under the terms of the treaty will be able to access the benefits of homegrown productions in each country. In South Africa, these include a higher-rate production rebate. In the U.K., co-productions will be able to access Britain's High-End Television Tax Relief, the Animation Television Tax Relief or the Children's Television Tax Relief. British-South African feature films that have qualified under the film co-production treaty include The Salvation, starring Mads Mikkelsen and Eva Green, Africa United, Tiger House and Dredd 3D, starring Karl Urban and Olivia Thirlby). "British television production is a tremendous success story, but we need to make sure the U.K. remains well placed to take advantage of the opportunities that come through international collaboration," said U.K. culture minister Ed Vaizey. "This new agreement enhances our already strong relationship with South Africa and will help television production companies in both countries realize the benefits that come with co-production." It is the latest co-production treaty for South Africa, most initially focused on films. Its first was with Canada, signed in 1997, followed by Germany, Italy, the U.K., France, as well as fellow Southern Hemisphere countries Australia and New Zealand. South Africa has touted its skilled crews, studio facilities in Cape Town, locations and affordability as key issues attracting foreign productions. (Hollywood Reporter)
Working Title Expands U.K. TV Team. Surian Fletcher-Jones and Georgina Gordon-Smith join the London-based TV development arm of the acclaimed production house. Working Title Television, the small screen arm of the British film powerhouse, and a joint venture with NBCUniversal, has made two new additions to its U.K. development team. Andrew Woodhead, who was named MD in March of this year, announced Thursday that Surian Fletcher-Jones and Georgina Gordon-Smith had joined the London-based outfit. Fletcher-Jones, formerly head of drama development at Channel 4 where she oversaw shows such as Indian Summers, has been appointed Working Title TV's head of development, while Gordon-Smith, who joins from United Agents, will be a development executive at the company. The two will work with Woodhead to develop high-end scripted British programming, building on the U.K. arm's recent credits including You, Me and the Apocalypse and London Spy. The team will also work closely with Working Title's Film and U.S. Television's business, led by President Andrew Stearn, and in unison with NBCUniversal International Studios, led by Michael Edelstein and JoAnn Alfano. "I am thrilled to have Surian and George joining me on this great adventure," said Woodhead. "I have worked with them both over the last few years in my role as an independent producer and was always so impressed with their creative instinct and generosity of spirit. They are both a great fit for the business and together we are excited about the opportunities and challenges ahead." (Hollywood Reporter)
