Lane restrictions planned through September on I-10 in western Arizona

Drivers on Interstate 10 in western Arizona may experience delays through about Labor Day as Arizona Department of Transportation crews repave and repair barriers along a 12-mile section of the freeway.

Single lane restrictions are expected for the next 6-8 weeks between mileposts 30 and 42. The western end of the work zone is about one mile west of the US 60 junction.

Crews will be working overnight, beginning about 6 p.m. and continuing until 8 a.m.  No work is scheduled on Friday orSaturday night into the following morning.

Speed limits in work zones will be reduced; watch for local speed limits posted on mobile message boards. A 12-foot width restriction also is in place in the work zone. Drivers with wider vehicles may want to use Interstate 8 and US 95 as an alternate route.

All freeway lanes will be open during the Labor Day weekend.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned roadway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
