Expect lane restrictions on US 60 near Superior Wednesday, Oct. 5, as construction continues

Lane Restrictions For Oak Flat Project On Wednesday October 5

The project to add a passing lane and widen roadway shoulders on US 60 east of Superior will require restrictions that will impact motorists traveling between the Phoenix metro region and Globe. The Arizona Department of Transportation suggests allowing extra travel time or considering an alternate route.

  • US 60 just east of Superior will be reduced to one lane only between mileposts 241 and 242 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5. Pilot cars will guide drivers through the work zone.
Alternate routes between Globe and Superior include state routes 77 and 177.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction equipment and personnel.
ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but it’s possible that unscheduled closures or restrictions might occur because of weather or other factors. For the latest highway conditions around the state, visit the ADOT Traveler Information Center at www.az511.gov or call 511 (except while driving).
