Prepare for delays on State Route 83 in Pima County Oct. 18-20

Pavement-improvement work requires lane closure; allow extra travel time

Drivers traveling between the Tucson area and the communities of Sonoita and Patagonia should allow extra travel time as four miles of State Route 83 south of Interstate 10 will be narrowed to one lane only for pavement work Oct. 18-20.
SR 83 will be narrowed to one lane only from mileposts 50 to 54 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18, and Wednesday, Oct. 19, and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20.

  • Traffic will be alternated to the open lane and guided through the work zone by crews and traffic devices.
  • Drivers should expect delays of up to 20 minutes.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction equipment and personnel.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but it’s possible that unscheduled closures or restrictions might occur because of weather or other factors. For the latest highway conditions around the state, visit the ADOT Traveler Information Center at www.az511.gov or call 511, except while driving.
