Water line installation scheduled on Ajo Way west of Tucson this week

Motorists traveling on Ajo Way west of Tucson will encounter overnight travel restrictions west of Kinney Road this week while the Arizona Department of Transportation installs a water line.
Lane closures will be in effect nightly from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. starting Sunday, Oct. 2, through Thursday, Oct. 6, and again starting Sunday, Oct.  9, through Wednesday, Oct. 12.
Flaggers will direct traffic through the work area, where the two-lane highway is reduced to one lane in both directions between Kinney Road and Camino Verde. The work is part of a project to widen Ajo Way (State Route 86) between Valencia and Kinney roads.
Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction equipment and personnel.
ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but it’s possible that unscheduled closures or restrictions might occur because of weather or other factors. For the latest highway conditions around the state, visit the ADOT Traveler Information Center at www.az511.gov or call 511, except while driving.

For more information about this project, please call C.T. Revere, ADOT Senior Community Relations Officer, at 1.520.705.3574 or email at crevere@azdot.gov.
